Chalice sat down on her bed, pulled her legs so she could sit cross legged, like she used to when everyone she knew was still here. She pulled out her guitar and started strumming randomly, something she hadn't done in years... since before she left. She closed her eyes and could almost hear Lala calling her Cha and tellin her to rock it out. How she missed her old friends.

Emily ran to her bed and opened her trunk. She needed some parchment and ink as quickly as possible. She rummaged in her trunk, until at last she found some. She jumped on her bed, then heard someone strum a guitar.
She looked up to see and older student next to her. She smiled. "Nice guitar..." she said and undid the lid of her ink.
She felt like she was forgetting something though...

When Amy entered on her dorm after that full day she saw two girls, one strumming a guitar - who fully remembered her older brother when he was a 16 year old who cared about family and loved music. She tried to pull away that feeling - And another one who looked like a first year searching for something on her trunk. "Do you need any help?" She asked shyly.

Emily looked up from her trunk. Someone had spoken to her?
"Oh no thanks! I'm just looking for a quill so I can write a letter..."She contined surching until she finally found one.
She jumped onto her bed and dipped her quill into her ink.
"I'm Emily by the way" she added not looking up from her parchment. How should she phrase this?

Nika ran up to the common room and went through her bags. "Need. Warm. Clothes. Need. To. Hurry. Needa. talk. to. Emily." She placed her hot chocolate on the ground beside her and held up some clothes. "These should do!" She slipped them on and put her robe over them. She then bolted down the stairs, carefully holding her drink in both hands so that it wouldn't spill.

Chalice heard a girl tlaking to her and snapped out of her daze. "Thank you!" she said beaming. "Do you play?" Chalice asked hopefully. "I'm Chalice by the way. Nice to meet you." Chalice saw another girl walk into the dorm. "Hey! I'm Chalice." she said smiling

"Nice to meet you too Chalice! I'm Emily."
She wrote her sisters name at the top of her parchment and scratched her nose. "Well, I know some basics but I'm not very good. Havn't played in a while anyway. My sister's very good at it though..."
Everything came back to her sister didn't it?! She wasn't even here!

Isla sighed as she entered the dorm. She hadn't unpacket yet and she was starting to get annoyed with the mess. She made her way over to her trunk and opened it and began to unpack. She was so bored that this was the funnest thing she could think of doing. Not knowing that many people sucked!

Nika made her way up to the dormitories and stretched out on her bed. It had been a long day and she needed to relax. She looked around the room and spotted Emily, but she seemed to be talking to someone else so Nika didn't want to bother her. She laid on her back and stared up at the ceiling humming one of her favorite tunes. She loved to sing, but decided to hum because she wasn't alone in the room. She heard someone else and turned around to see who it was. A big smiled appeared on her face when she saw it was Isla. "HEY there Isla!" she half shouted as she jumped off of her bed. So much for being tired... She walked over to her new friend and stood beside her. "Do you need any help?" Nika just wanted someone to talk to. She twirled around a couple times with her newfound energy. It was all just building inside of her.

Adelyn walked in to the dorm quietly, and walked over to sit on her bed. Tying her long, auburn curls into a ponytail, she looked around the room; a few first years were there, she didn't really know them. Before pulling out her notebook to start writing a new song, she smiled brightly, and said, "Hey, I'm Adelyn. You are?"

Nika turned around and noticed another Gryffindor enter the dorms. She didn't look too much older than Nika, but she defiantly wasn't a firstie. Nika smiled at the girl and waved. "Hi, Adelyn. I'm Nika!"

Adelyn waved back at the girl, still smiling. "You're a first year, right? Sorry for just assuming, but it's usually easy to tell." She laughed lightly. "I'm a third year. You can call me Addie, if you want."

Nika blushed. It probably was easy to tell she was a firstie. She had know idea what she was doing most of the time. "Yeah, I am a first year. And so far I love it here!" she held her arms in the air and spun around. "Everything is just so... so.... so magical" she said giggling. Magical? Great word choice Nika. Ooh a third year. Nika was making friends with all different age groups. Mostly first years like herself, but a few second years, a seventh year, a fifth year, and a now a third year! "Okay then Addie it is!" Addie. I like that. Addie. Such a nice nickname, Addie. "So Addie, do you have a favorite subject?"

Addie laughed innocently at Nika. She remembered what being a firstie felt like; not knowing what she was doing, feeling like everyone could tell she was clueless. "Magical is an excellent word choice. To be perfectly honest, it's the same one I used when I was a firstie; hey, I still use it sometimes! But anyway, it's really great here. I'm glad you're loving it so much." Addie had always been good at making friends, she just didn't have very many, and missing out on the first half of term wasn't helping her case. "I love your name, by the way. Nika. Very pretty." She tugged absentmindedly at her necklace, a silly habit. "Hm. My favorite subject is probably Defense Against the Dark Arts. Or Charms. I don't know, I'm really good at those two. How about you?"

Nika smiled at Addie. She was very easy to talk to and for that Nika was glad. "Well I think that my favorite is charms, but so far I'm better at transfiguration. I like most of the classes though! Except for ancient runes and a history of magic. Those bore me a bit. And I like potions and besides the fact that I am disastrous at the subject, the professor sends chills down my back." Professor Lafay was defiantly very strict and mean. Not to mention Nika hadn't started out on her good side. If she even has a good side.

Addie set her notebook down, and repostitioned herself on her bed. "Transfiguration, huh? That's an interesting class; I struggle with it a bit, though. Ancient Runes and History of Magic are always so boring! I hated taking those!" Addie giggled. She liked Nika. "Potions...to this day, I'm still terrified of that class! Professor Lafay can be so mean sometimes."

"Professor Lafay isn't such a people person." Or an anything person.... "I almost got into a lot of trouble for talking to much in her class. I was lucky though so she only let me off with a warning. Next time she says she will take away points from Gryffindor." Nika flinched just thinking about the cruel professor.

"Oh, let's face it: Professor Lafay isn't really an anything person." Addie rolled her eyes, laughing. "We shouldn't be talking like that...but seriously. It's probably best to just not talk in her class at all, that's how I get through it. Unless spoken to, of course. Just because Gryffindor is in the lead doesn't mean we can afford to lose points." Addie explained; Professor Lafay could be really intimidating.

Nika laughed at Addie's remark. "Yeah, I guess you're right. We really shouldn't be talking behind her back, it isn't very nice. And I agree from now on I'm going to talk the least bit as possible in that class." The only problem. Nika is horrible at potions... She was only talking to Annabelle because she needed help. Surree they may have gotten a bit off topic, but still. She was only trying to help Nika. "I'm very excited that Gryffindor is back in the lead! When the Slytherins were a couple points ahead of us it was starting to worry me! But now we are back on top and we should plan to keep it that way!" Nika replied with a huge smile. Gryffindor is working hard this year to keep in the lead.

"Yeah, it's not really nice...plus, I'm always really paranoid she has some way of magically knowing when students say something about her." Addie laughed to herself. "I know it's hard not to talk in the class, and you probably were asking someone about the potion, but she'll take any excuse to yell at someone. Take it from someone who is awful at potions. Next time you need help, either be really really discreet about it...or just ask her. She might be scary, but she is there to help, you know?" She suggested; it may not be the best of advice, but it was the same advice someone else gave her during her first year. "But I know! I was so worried when I saw Slytherin was in the lead! Gryffindor has to stay on top so we can win!" Addie smiled, bright and confident.

Nika turned around as if Professor Lafay was right behind her. She wasn't there of course, but you never know... "Has Gryffindor won any of the years that you were here?" Nika looked at the third year with curiosity.

Addie laughed as Nika turned around, knowing she was checking for Lafay. "Yes, we have. We won during my second year."

"Oh! Since your a third year then that means last year?" Nika smiled, this was just the start of Gryffindors winning streak! "Gryffindor will go all of the way!" Nika loved her house. She wouldn't have chosen any other one.

"Yeah, last year!" Addie confirmed, grinning. "Gryffindor is obviously going to win, because we're awesome." She said, laughing aloud. Maybe she was a little over confident, but whatever; Addie loved being a Gryffindor. "Could you have imagined being put in a different house? I definitely don't know what I would've done if I was in any other house but Gryffindor."

"No, come to think of it I couldn't! Maybe Hufflepuff, but I don't know what I would do if I wasn't a Gryffindor! This is definitely my favorite house by far!" Nika's smile grew bigger. "I love this house and everything about it!" The people, the common room, and everything...
