Not terribly long... well. His hair had been varying levels of short for the last several years. This term was actually the longest it had been in a while. He supposed this might not be terribly long; it touched his shoulders a bit, though, and fell forward and got in the way when he leaned. "Longer than is normal for me... Longer than I think it's ever been really." He shrugged, letting himself relax in his seat. "What would I want to do with it, really? Girls do things with long hair... for me, it'll just kinda hang there." He couldn't imagine anything that he would want to do with it. Sure, it wasn't bothersome, really. But Nia's suggestion of braids and Arya's suggestion of 'things' left him wondering what exactly they thought he would do to his head. "There's a lot of people dancing out there. I think I'd just end up weaving between them and getting in the way." Why was he sitting back here? He considered that question before one shoulder shrugged in a non-committed way. "I was wandering around. Here was as good a place as any... was talking to someone, but she ran off to do something." Hopefully that was going well for her... He glanced around for her, a little bit of the pie slipping into his mouth once more. No sign of Mia, or him. Hmm. |
"True," as long as she had known him, his hair had always been short. Never long enough to touch his shoulders like it was now. Made her curious as to how long he could get his hair to grow, and how he would look with longer hair. Absently she reached up and touched her own hair, running a hand through it as she surveyed his brown hair. "You could put it in a ponytail, or braid it." A wide grin split across her face. "You could dread it too." She kinda knew that he would never get dreadlocks, but it certainly wasn't impossible for them to put into his hair. Braids would look better though. "Guys do things to their hair too," she added belatedly before taking another bite out of her pie. Arya let the dancing comment pass since, well she wasn't one for dancing either. Especially not the kind most everyone seemed to be doing, so it was pointless to get him to do something she had no plans on doing herself. "Your date?" Was she dress like him? Her eyes lazily scanned the party, taking another bite of her pie. |
Everyone was suggesting braids. Raiden once again reached up and touched a lock of hair, letting it slide out from behind his ear. Braids. Really. And... dreads. A grin split his face and he tilted his head back, looking straight up at the ceiling for a moment before turning his eyes back down to her. "Braids and dreads. You know you're the second to suggest... I'm pretty sure I'd look ridiculous with that, you know." With either, really. With anything that wasn't what he looked like normally. "I'm not used to it being like this." And he'd never seen a guy with long hair that did particularly odd things to it. Not that he could remember, at least. But even if he kept it this long, he'd cut it before the wedding, at the very least. She'd probably not appreciate it, at that. "No, my date's off somewhere else. If you see an angel fluttering close, let me know. She might be looking for me... I wandered off out of habit, I hope she's not put out with me." He looked at her intently. "Where's your date, then?" |
Her grin grew when he leaned his head back, and she could only assume that he thought that him with dreads would be hilarious too. Though it didn't stop her from being curious about it, and picturing him with them. Heh. "Not with braids," she chimed in her cheerful tone. Dreads maybe, but guys braided their hair all the time. It wouldn't look to bad on him. "You should leave it, bet it will grow on you. And you should go with the majority and get braids." Or dreads. She wasn't opposed to either. "An angel," she repeated, letting her eyes go back to the party in a half-hearted search for wings. "I'll keep an eye out for her." She propped her elbow on the table, leaning forward to rest her chin in her head. Bright eyes fixed on him. "I don't recall saying I had a date." |
These girls and their assurance that they knew what would look odd on his head and what wouldn't. It was endearing, really. But he was pretty sure that the best policy was to stick with having it just... be there. That worked. "I'll not bother with cutting it right away, I guess." He was actually a bit worried about doing it himself. He was probably far less proficient at it than Nia was with attaching wings to her own back. Sure, he could always just force it to grow back out, but really, best to err on the side of safety. "But I'm not sure braids will ever happen." Well. He was sure braids would never happen. Unless someone held him down and did it, he wouldn't sit still long enough for people to do odd things like that to his head. He'd look silly. The young man leaned forward in his seat, propping his elbows on the table and leaning his chin into his palm and mimicking her stance. "I don't recall you saying you didn't." |
"Not while your still here at least." Here being Hogwarts. She liked it long and wanted to see it when he was dressed like...him. After the term it didn't much mater if he kept it long or not since she wouldn't see much of him what with her being with family, and him doing whatever it was he did during the summer. Aw. No braids. She did want to see him with braids, though obviously it would take a bit more convincing before he would change his mind. And this obviously didn't discourage her the least bit. "You never know, might change your mind." Or she would bug him until he got his hair braided. Whichever. Her lips twitched, threatening to form a smile when he mimicked her stance. She shrugged one shoulder lightly, "I don't recall you asking if I actually came with a date." |
Behind the mask, the young man raised an eyebrow. Not while he was still here? That... well. "Before graduation, I think I should." He half-smiled. "I should be me then. And I don't think this is very... me." The long hair. It hadn't been anywhere approaching this since his third year, and even then it had still been short and manageable. He was rather well-adjusted to that. "Until then though... until then, I'll keep it. Okay?" But he'd keep it like this. Or in a ponytail. Or something. He'd not change his mind about that, as much as she and Nia hoped. "The point still stands. You never said there wasn't one, nor led me to believe there wasn't." He gave her a playful smirk. "Do you expect me to believe you aren't here with someone." |
Arya considered his compromise for a moment, because obviously she had a say in when he cut his hair, before nodding her head in agreement. "Deal." Graduation was still a ways away, which meant plenty of time to see him with his long hair in colorful clothes. Maybe get a picture as well. Who knows, maybe he would change his mind about cutting it as well. Heh. "I never said there was one either," she chimed in, that smile creeping its way on her face. As far as she knew, she hadn't led him to believe there was one either. "If I did have a date, who would I come with?" |
He grinned widely when she pronounced she was accepting his 'deal', his eyes going uneven as he once more leaned back in his seat. He wasn't aware it had been a deal, but if she'd accepted it, then he supposed he could too. Wasn't like they'd specified when before graduation he'd cut it off. Hmmm. If she did have a date... he considered this for a moment. If she was to have a serious date, then... "Dakest... or Ivory." He nodded, fairly sure of his choices. "Or it could be someone else entirely. I'm not sure, but there's a fair amount of boys in your year, and a staggering amount of friends wandering around." |
She poked what little bit was left of her pie while he considered who she would have as a date. The fact that he had even thought she had come with anyone was highly amusing to her. Her smile grew into a grin when he named her possible dates. Obviously he knew her well to name two of her closest friends first. "I guess you could say that Ivy's my date." They both had talked about the ball and knew what the other was wearing, they just hadn't shown up together. "Though I never asked her to be my date, so I don't know if she would count as one." Did you have to ask the person to be your date for them to... be your date. She was uncertain. "It would never be anyone else," she stated simply, always her friends or no one. "Not sure if Sabel's coming or not..." |
So he was right... Dakest hadn't asked her. And she didn't even know if he was here. Huh. Raiden had wondered if they'd... straightened things out. If they were okay. But not even knowing where Dakest was... That just made him wonder even more, if they were still talking. Dakest needed friends. Gryffindors tended to get themselves killed without them. "Well If you're both here, and you came together, then I guess it's plausible to say you're here together." Even if they weren't hanging out right now. Merlin knew Raiden and Nia were here together, but he'd wandered off. "What's she dressed as, then?" |
Arya's thoughts had begun to drift when she thought about Sabel, and where he was tonight. She wasn't really sure. After Christmas, he had been more distant than usual. Not wondering the castle like he usually did. It didn't surprise her that she had yet to see him, but it did make her worry about him. Just a little. "Then where here together." They had come together, even though they had lost each other somewhere between the door and the food table. She would have to find her 'claw friend later. "She's here as Sailor Moon." If they had known they were each others' dates, they might have come matching. Only if Ivory had come as a hobbit though, Arya quite liked her costume. "What are you suppose to be?" |

"In what year are you?" Lara asked 'cos he looked to be older than her,"I'm first year" she said although it was already abvious, and she loves to meet older students she doesn't enjoy her fellow first years a lot. Lara looked around Mark and he seemed to be alone as well so she asked "Are you alone?, I wanted to come with my friends but I was asleep and they came without me" she expailned trying to excuse her lonliness. |

As Lexi asked her what made her come like Iris, the prefect simply shrugged. "I honestly do not know." Teehee. GRIN! "I mean... Like, I've been busy with OWL revision, and didn't even think about my costume for this until last night, and it just made sense to do this." Iris nodded, and smiled. Aaaand, Iris didn't even have to ask about the Hera inspiration, because Lexi answered it before she could even answer! This girl was brilliant. N'AWWWW!!!! "Awwww, that's adorable!" Tehehehe. Iris grinned at Lexi across the table. Here and Zeus really is a much more adorable and creative idea, than the usual Cinderella and Prince Charming costume idea. |
^,^ Intruding SPOILER!!: Raiden and Arya ^,^ Skidding against the polished floor as she quickly moved to avoid a passing couple who only seemed to have eyes for each other, Ivory wove her way through tables and seats holding her plate of food up high. It had taken her quite some time to reach the food table and even longer to pile her plate with what she deemed good food, which normally she wouldn't have minded exept for the fact that she'd lost her bestie in the process. So it was now, a little lost among all the masked people with her stomach growling that she was determined to find the first empty table and dig in. Her nose wrinkled slightly as she watched a small leaf of lettuce float off her plate with her quick movements, falling through the air until it landed in her hair. Her hair, she reminded herself, not someone else's. Setting her plate down on a nearby table, she grabbed the blond extremely long pony tail and picked the lettuce off quickly, reaching up to make sure the ondango cover's on the balls of hair balanced on her head were still good. Still intact and round. Check. It had taken her hours of strained focus to change her hair color to blond and even longer to metamorph it to be as long as was needed but luckily the end result was worth it. Even though she did have to scrunch her face up in concentration every few minutes just to be sure it stayed the right length. But that wasn't important now, because turning to retrieve her plate she realized she'd inadvertently picked exactly the right table to sit down at. "Hey guys!" Bringing up a chair, she scooted closer to Arya with a sheepish smile. Hopefully, she wasn't interrupting. |

Lexi then giggled when the girl said that her idea was adorable. She had thought so too. Finn had not been too fussed about whatever. "Yeah, he was pretty stoked about it. I think his exact words were, 'I'll look hot in a toga'. Boysssss," she said with a grin. "Oooooh you said you are doing your OWLs... how terrible are they, really?!I am so bloody nervous about taking them next term I have been driving my friends and family crazy" she explained to the Prefect. |
Alice came and took a seat at one of the tables, slightly happy to be off of her feet. She liked high heels but after a while they could be a bit uncomfortable. She looked around, curious to find someone she knew to chat with, but everyone looked rather preoccupied. So she took a swig of her water and watched the people dance. Surely there was someone she could chat with? |
Shannon <3; Selena sat down smiling as she sighed. Life was perfect, yupdedooo. She was a bit sad the term was drawing closer to an end but today was actually quite fun. She looked around from someone else she knew, like... Rose or Emma or someone. Because she hadn't seem them for ages. Plus if Rose was wearing a dress, Sel was going to burst out laughing. |
<3 Sel!! <3 Quote:
She walked over to where Sel was and very casually asked her. "Excuse me is someone sitting here?" with a huge smile on her face. Teehee Now, would Sel notice Emma in her Roman Empress outfit ;) |

"How've you been?" she asked as she tucked her hair behind one ear. And boo to helmets. |

"I've been great! Homework and extra quidditch, to keep my game up. Oh and yes! You know a sixth year called David Black, blonde, gryffindor, adorable? He's my boyfriend. We just started to going out." she explained, chattily. She loved being with David. "And how have you been?" |
Quote:
Selena blushed at that, her hand fiddling the silver band on her finger. "Uhm... I don't know," she muttered. See. Emma was a total stalker. She thought about it for a moment. "Wow, really? That's great!" she exclaimed. David was also the guy who made Emma cry right? Oh gee, great. Hmph. But whatever. People were complicated. "I'm so happy for you and him," Selena said hugging Emma again. "I'm fine, great actually," she said, a bit on cloud nine as she said it. Oh yeah, cloud nine, definitely. |
Quote:
Emma laughed and saw the face Sel gave her. She was so NOT a total stalker. GOODNESS! Emma had been hired to take pictures for the yearbook... "I AM SO NOT A STALKER! I'M helping out the yearbook!" she exclaimed and snapped two photos. Grin. She smiled happily again and returned Sel's hug. "Yeah.. he's a great guy. We put the argument past us and it worked out!" she exclaimed. "Yeah! Oh yes, I met your cousin Rose here! She reminds me of Maddie.." Emma missed Maddie too.. She smiled. "So what else have you been up too?" |
