Preston laid down on his bed looking up at the top of his bed. He felt Ringo move up the bed and crawl up onto his chest where he curled up and laid. Preston moved his legs so Kale had room to sit on his bed. He took a deep breath, determined not to cry.

"I-I-I m-m-miss h-her." Was all he could utter out at the moment as he wrapped his arms around Ringo on his chest. He buried his head into his fur for fear of crying in front of Kale, the only mate he had at Hogwarts that he could really count on.

Kale couldn't keep back a few tears. They leaked out of his eyes and streaked out down his cheeks. "Don't be embarassed Preston." Kale told him looking at this little first year who some how had become one of Kale's best friends. "It took me a long time to stop crying." Kale told him, and that his Dad had died 10 years ago. "Don't ever feel bad about missing her, unfortunately that is a feeling that will never go away. You'll always miss her, but it will get easier to cope with." Kale added hoping he was helping Preston feel better.

Preston pulled his head back from Ringo's fur and looked at Kale. He didn't know what to say now. He just wanted to go back home and stay beside his daddy's side. "H-h-how d-d-did h-h-he d-d-die?" Preston asked quietly, almost afraid to ask such a thing. He sat up, cradling Ringo in his lap as he waited for Kale to answer.

Kale had never told any one the story before. He had told people that his dad died, but he never said how. He wasn't sure he would be able to tell the story with out crying himself. But He thought maybe it was time he did talk about it, at least with some one other than his Mom. "My dad was a muggle. He got cancer, that's a muggle disease. He got really sick and was in the hospital for a long time. One day my mom and I went to go visit and....and...." Kale couldn't finish what he was trying to say it was too scary and emotional for him.

Well, in all fairness, Treyen was utterly cold, and for spring that was pretty odd. But the reason behind practicing Transfiguration was simply because he had to practice with his eyes opened. He had to do it.

It also couldn't help to conjure up another blanket. Could he be possibly getting a cold? He should head towards the Hospital Wing and see the Healer. Yes.

Either way, he was currently holding the Hufflepuff scarf he had, there was no way he was using the pretty purple/blue one, even if he knew the 'Reverto' spell so well. Treyen drew out his wand and a couple of socks, he could've chosen some pieces of parchment but his bag was too far away, and he was getting sort of sleepy, the only thing he had with parchment were his Transfiguration notes and he was not transfiguring those. "Vestis vellus" he said, after doing the flourish and curly-q movement pointing at the scarf, eyes open, and his focus on a...YES! The blanket was there! The very intricate waves of black and gold he'd imagined were there, and it was a sturdy blanket, but very soft. A smile was on his face when he noticed that he'd done so without closing his eyes.

Visualization and focus, of course.

Ah! But his scarf was gone, and now he needed one before he headed to the Hospital Wing. Yes, the sturdy blanket still made him cold. "Escarpa vellus!" he exclaimed, wand drawing a line in the air and focusing on one of the socks next to him. And...lookit! He now had another purple/blue striped scarf...except...well...it didn't match the blanket, but he didn't care. "Manus vellus!" and the circular movement was made at the other socks, so he could have a couple purple/blue gloves to go with the new scarf? YES! He didn't need to close his eyes anymore. That was pure awesomeness.

And the dormitory felt like pure coldness. So, the boy placed the gloves on and the scarf around his neck. Oh, warmth. Good. In the middle of May, not good. But there was something missing. "Caput vellus" he said, motioning to another sock, and almost instantly a dark blue hat appeared in front of him. Uh-huh. Everything was soft and warm...and before he could even reach the floor and walk towards the Healer, the boy fell asleep, conjured blanket on top, and Transfiguration notes all over the bed.

Yeah, he was tired. Very tired.
