Preston pulled his head back from Ringo's fur and looked at Kale. He didn't know what to say now. He just wanted to go back home and stay beside his daddy's side.
"H-h-how d-d-did h-h-he d-d-die?" Preston asked quietly, almost afraid to ask such a thing. He sat up, cradling Ringo in his lap as he waited for Kale to answer.
