Divination II
 

Nolan was seated on top of his desk as usual, although he looked much happier than last lesson. He wasn't wearing his glasses today and had instead opted for contacts, but he made up for his lack of style by wearing a stylish checkered cardigan. Yeah. He looked awesome.

Whistling merrily to himself, he drummed his fingertips on the top of his desk as he waited for the students to arrive.

Stepping into the classroom, JD sees the professor "Good morning professor." he says cheerfully. His eyes widening just slightly as he notices the checkered cardigan. Interesting choice... he thinks silently a smile appearing on his face.

Finding a seat toward one side, he puts his bag on the floor next to him.

Alice walked into the classroom and smiled at Professor Reynolds. "Hi Professor Reynolds," Alice said warmly as she took her seat. "Going without your glasses today?" She set her bag down and took out her book and notebook. "I like your cardigan, by the way," Alice said gently.

Yay! Divination! Obviously Ellie's favorite subject. SNORT.

"Ooohhh! Pretty sweater." She wanted one. It looked warm and comfy. And what was she stuck in? Robes and a cloak. How Bleh. How boring.

She went ahead and took a seat. VERY close to the front. Heh.

Walking into the room, Kurumi was feeling much more confident than she had the previous lesson. She wondered if they were going to talk more about dreams...if so, she was going to need to stomp on Adam's foot to keep him quiet.

"Good morning, Professor Reynolds," she smiled with a bow before taking a seat near the front of the classroom.

Smirking as usual, Josh stepped into the classroom with an air like i-rule-this-world and he stopped right before the professor. ''Good day, professor'' he said cheerfully then turning to face the seats he looked around for a suitable seat for himself. Hmm there were Simon and Kurumi plus the classroom was not so crowded yet so he had many options on where to sit.

So deciding that it would wise to do so he sat somewhere between Simon and Kurumi.

''Hey guys!''

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand cue a bright pink cheeked Kurumi.

"H-h-h-hello," she smiled trying not to look Josh directly in the eyes for fear of turning an even deeper shade of pink. Her hair started turning a rosy pink and she immediately began thinking about the numbers 2 and 7 to calm herself down.

*swallow*

"Hello."

Had she already said that?

Pam walked in, excited again for divination. She couldn't wait! She really liked the last lesson. Seeing the teacher, she waved. "Hello." She said cheerfully. She walked over to a seat, and sat, taking out her favorite book, and reading.

Hello Professor Reynolds" Rex told him. " I loved your first class and yoru homework" Rex said to the professor.

Selena walked into the class with a smile. She took a seat near the middle. "Hello Professor," she said as she slid into the chair and pulled out her notebook and a quill, arranging it neatly on her desk. Eep. Neat? For once? Sel? Eh. That was a first.

WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Divination!

Mia skipped merrily into the classroom and waved to the Professor. "Hello Professor Reynolds. How are you today?"

She looked around the room for a moment and decided to sit up the front today. This was one of her favorite classes probably because the Professor was so nice.

Evelyn was actually rather excited for the lesson. Divination was one of Josh's favorites she knew, so obviously that meant he would be there.

Not even caring that the class was on the seventh floor, the Slytherin made her way inside, taking a deep breath and in good spirits. Even her eyes seemed to have a lighter glow to them then the dark black they've been for most of the year. Looking around, he spotted her favorite Gryffindor right away, though frowned when she noticed who was sitting in the front.

Ugh. Cookie girl. "Good day Professor."

Scowling at the young little Gryffindor, Evelyn kept her eyes on her as she moved to the table Josh was sitting at, and plopped herself down in the seat next to him. Hmm yea. Cookie girl was getting no where near him. EVER!

Daisy walked into the class room her hair thrown up in a hasty pony tail and her bag half open. Her cloud sketching session had ran over a little and she was scared she would be late, but she wasn't. "Hello Professor," she said as she took a seat.

Rex moved over to sit next to his girlfreind Daisy. " Hi sweetie" Rex told Daisy. " Psst, I can help you in Muggle Studies about baseball" Rex whispered to Daisy.

Daisy smiled as her boyfriend Rex moved next to her, "Thanks honey. I'd appriciate it." She liked muggle studies but she was in Divination and she LOVED this class almost as much as History of Magic.

Divination.

Not one of Destiny's favorite classes, but that might have something to do with which floor of the school it was on. Really? Why did it have to be in a tower? Even after her four years of travelling to the classroom, she was still not used to the steps.

Her legs felt like they would just fall off.

After a little panting attacking outside the classroom, she entered taking notice of the Professor sitting on his desk without his glasses. She wondered if he had stepped on them, like she did last term. Hehe. "HELLO PROFESSOR!" she exclaimed, walking past him and taking a seat near Evelyn.

No glasses = hard of hearing, obviously.

"Profeesor Reynolds is a great teacher" Rex told Daisy. " This and Charms are my favorite two classes" Rex said to Daisy. Rex wonders if he should tell Daisy why he likes Charms.

"Yeah I really enjoy this class," Daisy said smiling. She also liked Charms but it was now like a thirs place kind of thing. "Well I'm glad you're enjoying this class. This and Muggle Studies are my two favorite."

" great, we at least both like one class the most, right?" Rex asked Daisy. " By the way, there is no Steelers in muggle baseball" Rex laughed. " you were so cute when you said that team, use the Pirates, that is a baseball team from Pittsburgh, the Steelers are from Pittsburgh, but they are a muggle American football team" Rex explained to Daisy. " Did you do yoru Dream Dairy for this class?" Rex asked Daisy.

"Well I really don't know anything about the teams...just the sport." Daisy smiled and said, "Yeah I finished my Dream Journal. I kind of wanted to keep writing in it but alas, I cannot." She sighed. "I even started to interpret my dreams," at least the last one she thought to herself.

"Hello Mister Stevenson," Nolan greeted the Ravenclaw with a smile as he entered the room.

"Yeah, I decided to go for a more casual look today," he explained with a grin. "And thank you, it's rather flashy isn't it?" And, therefore, it ROCKED.

"Thank you, Ellie," Nolan replied as the Ravenclaw girl took a seat.

"Good day Simon," Nolan greeted the Gryffindor as he entered the classroom as well.

"Good morning," he replied cheerfully as Kurumi sat down.

"Good day," Nolan replied to Josh as he came in and sat down. Hmmm. Good showing of students so far!

"Good morning!" Nolan replied with a cheerful greeting.

"Hello Rex. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Not many people say about homework," he told him with a chuckle.

"Hello," Nolan greeted both of the students as they walked in one right after the other. "I'm great, thank you. My mood has much improved since last lesson," he added.

"Hello, good morning to you two as well," Nolan greeted the next two students. Maybe everyone would be ON TIME this lesson. He sure hoped so!

When Destiny entered the room, Nolan didn't notice right away, but she certainly nabbed his attention when she YELLED at him, giving him such a fright he almost fell off his desk. He caught his balance just in time however, and blinked at Destiny.

"Erm, hello Miss Shepard. Ummm, I'm not sure why you're shouting but I can assure you, I'm not SO old that I'm losing my hearing already," he told her. Hehe. Old joke.

Ellie smiled. "Well, you're welcome." She WAS polite, see. "We should have casual dress days. Get out of theeeese." She pulled at her robes. Honestly, they were just a hassle sometimes. And not the most form-fitting and cozy.

"Well, you know about the teams now" Rex told Daisy. " i finished my dewam journal, too" Rex said to Daisy. " You know if I had the next dream, it would have come true "Rex explained to Daisy. Oh it did" Rex laughed.
" Well you welcome sir" Rex told Professor Reynolds.

Daisy smield and said, "Well I hope mine doesn't. I mean at least I hope the ending doesn't." She laid her head down on the table and took a deep breathe in. The air smellled of tea leaves and inscences. The perfect mixture for the Divination classroom.

"Good day, Professor Reynolds!" Ever-Lily said brightly, and took a seat in the front. Easier to pay attention, for one.

Looking around he sees Ellie close to the front, his eyes on the back of her head, he wonders what she was doing later. Maybe they could go for a walk together. A smile appearing at the thought, he looks around at the others in the room.

He noticed a few talking quite a bit, his eyebrow lifting, he sits quietly not saying a word, so as the professor doesn't get mad at the chatting.

Kurumi turned to smile at Josh and ask what he favorite cookie was so she could leave a nice fresh pile in the common room was greeted by the glare of the cookie hating girl.

She had somehow been able to avoid the glare of death since the feast, but today seemed to be Kurumi's unlucky day. Perhaps if she smiled and the girl? Yes, that was always the polite thing to do to an upperclassmen...right?

Kurumi gave the girl a weak smile before turning her attention back to the front of the room. She could feel a hole burning through the back of her head from the scary Slytherin's gaze.

Eeep...

She turned to the Gryffindor boy sitting near her and whom Josh had also greeted.

"I think that girl hates me..." she whispered hoping that class would start soon so the hauting image two scary eyes would go away.

Alice nodded. "It is very flashy, but I like it," Alice said, examining the cardigan thoughtfully. She personally didn't have anything quite like it, but it definitely fit Professor Reynolds' personality. "Those Dream Journals were great! It was kind of neat writing down our dreams."

Alice had forgotten to pull out her tarot cards, so she quickly reached into her bag and pulled them out. She wasn't sure whether muggle tarot cards were the same as wizard tarot cards, but she brought them anyway. They definitely had an antique look to them, especially since they were a gift from her great grandmother on her mom's side, that had received them when she was ten.

" Well if it is a bad ending, I do not want yoru dream to come true either" Rex told Daisy. " Now let's get ready for class and we can talk after the class" Rex said to Daisy.

"Good day, Professor!" Jenny said as she walked in looking for a seat. She was quite surprised she didn't despise Divination as much as before.

Marie finally made it to divination. She had been avoiding the seventh floor and towers lately since that is where Carter lived. No need in putting herself in a situation where she was only gonna get herself hurt. However now was not the time to avoid this area, now was the time to go to class.

Walking in she sees the professor sitting... on his desk? Did the man not like his chair? "Hello Professor," she said as she walked to the back of the room and took a seat where she would be sitting by herself. Yeah, she had seen her friends but she didn't want to sit with anyone today. Especially Destiny, who she still had not talked to after that little incident in classroom eleven.

Alexandrie walked into the classroom and glanced around raising an eyebrow at the Professor sitting on his desk.. was that comfortable Alex wondered taking a seat. "Hello Professor." Alex greeted a little cheerfully after sitting.

Emmaleigh made her way up to the divination classroom, and looked around for one of her few friends. Not seeing any, she sat over to the side, where fewer people were. She pulled out her quill and parchemt before greeting the professor. "Hello, Professor." She said with a smile

Patroclus arrived at Divination, with a rather large smile on his face.

"Morning Sir," the young Lion, grinned as he walked past the teacher, before stopping dead still, when he saw them. Not letting his smile to faulter at all, Patroclus walked right past the new couple, and found a seat over near the window. Starring out of it, the boy absentmindly reached into his bag and pulled out his mother's tarot cards.

To say he was wearing a brave face was an understatement.

A happy Lockhart (nothing out of the ordinary, because he was always happy, no?) entered the room.

His smile widened when he noticed the change in Professor Reynolds mood. He seemed merry. Not like last time. "Professor! Good day, Sir!" he exclaimed, before continuing his walking towards....hmmm...which seat to take? which seat to take?

Why, the front row! As usual.

"Where are your glasses, Professor?" he asked, setting down his things.

Adeline strode into her favorite class. "Hello Proffesor! Pleasure to see you today!" she said with a wide grin, seting her stuff down.

Brittany walked into The second Lesson Of Divination with a smile on her face. She had gotten good marks on here homework for the first class so she was excited to see what was in store for this one. "Hello Professor." she said before taking a seat

Lexi practically BOUNCED into the classroom and smiled sweetly at the professor. "Good day, sir!" she said as she took a seat near that Hugglepuff champion guy. Meh... whatever his name was. Hehe.

After digging in her bag she extracted a pink quill and a roll of pink tinted parchment. Yeah...she likes pink. So what.

Salander sauntered into Divination. Yeah sauntered. That was because he already was at the 7th floor talking to a few new friends. So no huffing or puffing for the Slytherin lad this time.

"Nice sweater Chief!" he complimented the Professor. Did he really find it nice? Who knows.....

"Hello," Nolan cheerfully greeted the Gryffindor as she came to sit down.

Nolan chuckled. He remembered wearing those robes to class every day...yeah, not a fan. Plus his were YELLOW of all colors. Yellow didn't look good on him. With his glasses? He looked like a giant bumblebee!

"Well unfortunately I think you need to wait till you graduate to get that privilege," he joked.

"Good day!" Nolan replied in greeting as the arriving student took a seat.

"I'm glad you're enjoying them. It's always fun rereading those dreams to see just how ridiculous they were," Nolan said with a grin.

"Good morning," Nolan said, nodding with a smile at each of the students as they entered the classroom.

"I felt like wearing my contacts today," he explained. Nothing had happened to them, thank GOODNESS. He just felt he needed a change of style today. He'd probably go back to them tomorrow.

"Good morning!" Nolan greeted each of the students as they entered the room. Just a few more minutes, then he'd get started...

"Thank you," Nolan said. This sweater was getting lots of attention wasn't it? Hmmm. He wondered if that was a good or bad thing.

"Alright, I think we're going to get started," he announced, bouncing off his desk and heading to the chalkboard. "I'm sure a number of you have already guessed what today's lesson is going to be about, but nonetheless we need to touch the basics of what we're studying, even though some of you are probably very familiar with this subject already. Can anyone tell me what Cartomancy is?" he asked the class.

Taking out her notebook and quill, Evelyn continued to glare at the cookie girl who dared to smile at her.

*glare*

That's right. Stay away from Josh! And her as well. She didn't need the girl's smiles over at this table. She could go smile over at...Simon or something. Or Patroclus.

...PATROCLUS! Pausing, it did not get passed her that Patroclus didn't even smile at her. That was...hard to take. Before she could say hello to him however, the Professor started talking. Sighing, she turned her attention to him and raised her hand. More to take her mind off her other favorite Gryffindor than to really answer the question. "Cartomancy is divination using a stack of cards. It first started out using a regular stack of cards, the ones with the numbers such as eight of hearts and ace of spades or the standard 52 card and four suit set in other words, but over the years some people have created special deck of cards personalized for this art of divination specifically. Whether they use them or not is up to the person."

His hand shooting up, smiling he knew this answer "Professor, it is a form of divination, using a deck of cards."

Kurumi's hand shot up - surprising even herself. "Cartomancy is divination by means of a deck of cards. Usually, a standard deck of playing cards is used, but tarot cards have become a more popular practice." Her grandmother loved telling her and her brothers' futures with cards. It kind of creeped her out to be totally honest...almost as much as the scary Slytherin girl glaring at the back of her head. Kurumi made a mental note that smiling was not going to work on her...*shiver*

Alexandrie rose her hand, "Cartomany is a common form of Divination that is often known as Tarot Cards where someone asks a question and shuffles the deck places them in a certain order, like Past, present and future." Alex spoke slightly hesistantly she was only a little sure she didn't get them mixed up with something else.

Brittany raised her hand "Its fortune telling with cards Basically something like tarot reading." she said smiling

Fletcher sat next to him, and Treyen smiiiiiled, smiled! But, let's hope he's good in Divination?

The Huffie boy eyed the Professor curiously. Contacts? What did he mean?

He was about to ask that, but then...oh! The class was starting! The boy raised his hand up, up, up in the air. Yes! Cards! "Professor, with Cartomancy one interprets cards, as in...a deck of cards...for divination purposes" and it would be suuuuper fuuuuun!

"Erm, the study of a deck cards to to predict the future, most commonly tarot cards though people have used many different decks far as I've read", Chloe responded raising her hand high.

hmm, Cartomancy. The word reminded Em of cartography, so think, think think. What was similar to maps? Em raised her hand. "Is it card r-reading?" she asked.

Ugh, a hard question already. However, the word did remind her of something...she has seen Muggles use cards to read fortune telling before. "Car-to-mancy" sounds like it can be related to cards. "Is it predicting the future using cards?" she said.

Mia raised her hand in the air. "Cartomancy is card reading. It is similar to tarot reading but a normal deck of cards is used. Years ago they used them for prophecies." Wouldn't it be cool know what your future held in a pack of cards?

Freya pulled out her parchment and quill from her bag. She put them down in the desk. She heard Professor Reynolds asked them about Cartomancy. They gonna learn Cartomancy today??Wooohooo..

She raised her hand before saying "Cartomancy is the art of foretelling the future or divination using a deck of cards, sir."

"Cartomancy is fortune-telling or divination using a deck of cards. It appeared in Europe in the 14th century soon after playing cards were first introduced." Marie said as she raised her hand.

She then decided it was time to get her notebook out and take some notes.

Her voice was like nails in his head, but he drowned it out.

"Professor Cartomancy is the practise of divining or foretelling by the use of a deck of cards, the style of cards used have changed over the centuries, causing differentiations in methods, but all really leading to the same conclussion. For example the french used the Piquet Cards, The English the standard 52 deck, but they can also include the use of the joker."

And here came the Son of a Tomb Raider part, "It is believe by some that the practise originated in ancient Eygpt."

What did he say???

"Dude Fletch... no no no no..." he said as he lazily waved his hand at his friend. "Cartomancy dude... its the celebrated Art of Romantic Cartwheeling! You do this great stunt and then out of nowhere, you pull out a big bouquet of roses as a finish!" he smirked. Gee of all the people who should've known that, he expected Fletcher would.

Fletcher had to fight back a really, really loud snort at Salander's answer. He actually put his head down in his arms on his desk and still ended up making a sound somewhere between a laugh and chortle.

"Bless me," he muttered, raising his head enough to grin at his friend. Yeah play it off like a sneeze, that's the way to go. "I think you may be right. NO WAIT, I remember now. It's when you cartwheel onto a cart and then roll around a giant piece of parchment to draw a map of your future love life. That's what it is, dude. We got this."

He pounded his chest with his fist twice and then peace-signed his homie. They were rawkin Divination.

Rae looked back and forth between her two friends..... Ugh, boys, such idiots.... "Boys boys.... It's obviously when people have a cart or carriage race, and whoever wins will have the future in their dreams that night. Probably a lot of gold comes with this kind of divination..." DUH. And who couldn't use some extra cash in their pockets right?

Wow.

Raising a brow at the answers being called out, Evelyn kept her ears on their voices instead of Patroclus'. He still was not looking at her. Glancing towards Josh, Evelyn couldn't help that chuckle that escaped her once Rae answered as well.

Really?

If that was true about cartomancy, then why hadn't they been practicing it everyday during their summer at the old, beaten, spider web infested house? Well, not so spider web infested anymore but still... "Geniuses." she muttered, opening her notebook and writing down the topic on the first line of a blank page.

When Rae finished she heard a chuckle coming from Evelyn's direction... Automatically she grinned. OH! Then the nicest compliment came from Evelyn's mouth... She heard her say how Rae was a Genius! That was the best compliment EVER! She had never been called smart let alone a genius! No wonder why she had Evelyn as a friend. So awesome. Rae gave a small fist pump and a "yes!" for her good efforts.

"Gesundheit" he replied to Fletcher as he smirked at him. He listened at Fletcher and laughed, adding quickly "And you hafta use the bouquet of roses to cast the spell on the cart to get it to move, because it is the only way to get it to draw a map of your future romantic quests!" he exclaimed, waving his arm around like it had an imaginary bouquet for a wand. He leaned back at this seat laughing, mirroring the homie gesture back at Fletcher.

Oh then Rae had hers to add "You gotta good point Rae. Of course that gigantic map with your romantic future needs to be interpreted-- and you'll get the meaning of that map when you get a visit from the Goddess of Love in your dream!"

They are so right on this. Pinpoint accuracy. And who says Divination was a foggy subject?

Pshaawwwww! Yeah, they were catching on alright... Oh pat yourself on the back Rae! For the professor is going to give you a bajillion points for figuring THIS one out! And then give Salander 1000 points for adding on... And then give Evelyn 900 points for giving them the genius title... Salander was only one table away... Once he finished Rae smiled widely.. "DUUDEEE.... High five on that!" As she leaned over to high five her intelligent friend.

Kurumi could no longer contain her giggles at the answers being said by the other students. She covered her mouth in hopes that it would help keep her quiet...but it was too funny to resist. She turned around to see who it was that was saying such ridiculous fabulous things, when she saw the scary cookie hating girl still glaring at her and now with an eyebrow raised.

*blink blink*

All laugher ceased.

Kurumi returned to her notes and pretended like she was writing stuff down.

Salander chuckled, leaning forward to return Rae's high five. As he leaned back onto his seat he turned to give Evelyn a two-fingered salute. She just called him a Genius. Oh yeah! Divination's got nuthin' on him now!

Alice sat up a bit straighter when she realized that he was going to start class, and took out her quill. She listened as Professor Reynolds asked them what cartomancy was. She raised her hand gently.

"Professor Reynolds, is cartomancy fortune-telling by interpreting a random selection of playing cards?"

Nessa raised her hand "Cartomancy is fortune-telling or divination using a deck of cards. It started in Europe in the 14th centurary and playing cards were commonly used." She said

Raising her hand, "It's telling what the future would be by reading cards." Yep, she was sure 'cause her grandma used to mess around with cards all the time.. not telling future though, just foolin' them to play with her and letting her predict things for them. Meh.

Lila raised her hand. "It's using a deck of cards for fortune telling or divination like tarot. It started after the manufacture of playing cards in the 1300s. At that time people commonly used decks of playing cards to do it," she answered with a smile.

Cass raised her hand "Cartomancy is divination using a deck of cards, right?"

Then she asked "Professor, is this where people use tarot cards? or is that different?"

Is it Tarot Cards?" Rex asked the professor. "These cards tell your horoscope or your future" Rex said to Professor Reynolds.

Cartomancy, ha? Pppfft of course Josh knew what that was from his mother yet he did not believe that Cartomancy is way to predict future. Reading future through some cards created by some witch, wizard or a muggle, even Muggles had tarot cards, was something hard to believe for him. Those cards could only be used to play with the person who was expecting a reading. It was a false way of Divination.

Yet instead of voicing those thoughts, the Gryffindor boy yawned and looked around. Hmm. He was feeling quite tired today so putting his book on the desk he used it as a pillow as Evelyn called some other people geniuses. ''Wake me up when the practical part starts'' he whispered to the Slytherin girl and closed his eyes.

Preston scrunched his face up. The word cartomancy sounded oddly familiar to him. He closed his eyes for a moment and thought really really hard. His eyes opened quickly as his hand flew into the air and waved a little. "I-i-it's a-a f-f-form of D-d-div-divination th-that u-u-uses c-c-cards t-t-to fo-fortune t-t-tell." Preston told the Professor with a goofy grin. He was sure he was right, but there was room for a chance of error, but he was okay with that, he was just excited to be answering something that sounded so familiar to him.

"Yes, good answers, points to all of you!" Nolan said with a smile. "As you all pointed out, Cartomancy is Divination through the use of cards. Some people use playing cards, but the more common practice these days is Tarot card readings," he explained, adding it to the notes on the board with a flick of his wand. "Often times this is done when the person receiving the reading pulls the cards from the deck in a sort of pattern, but that can vary from person to person, depending on how the person performing the reading likes to draw their cards," he added.

Nolan looked at the two boys--one of them the Hufflepuff champion--who seemed very VERY confused about Cartomancy. Then Bre got into the conversation as well, and Nolan became even MORE confused. Were they seriously that confused or were they faking it? He couldn't tell, but either way...they were WAYYY off.

"No, that's...not it," he said, stopping himself before he added 'that's not even remotely close' to his sentence. No need to embarrass them now! Especially the Hufflepuff champion...he was awesome cause he was a HUFFLEPUFF like himself. Obviously. "Good try though?"

He wasn't sure why that came out as a question.

Nolan's eyes narrowed in on the boy who was resting his head on his textbook...he did NOT want to get that gong out again, cause he would DO it! That gong was really useful actually. It had an amazing effect on those sleeping students. Hehe.

"Now, moving on...as many people noted, Cartomancy has evolved from being used with just regular playing cards, to mostly being performed on Tarot Decks. Tarot cards are specific decks of cards used specifically for Cartomancy, and are often decorated with certain symbols or patterns that you wouldn't see on a normal 52 card playing deck. Who can name some of these decks? There are MANY out there, even some really odd and bizarre decks, so please, try and name a few that your classmates have NOT named before you," he explained as he began to rummage around in his bag for his own deck of cards.

Decks? Uhhhh... "There's the... Angel Insight Tarot? I think.." That sounded so insanely stupid it was unreal. Maybe she made it up?

Meh, only ONE way to find out..

Preston smiled and lowered his hand, he had earned himself some points for Hufflepuff. Today was off to a good start, it was. He bit his lips, realizing he didn't know an answer to the next question the professor asked. He was about to give up on the question until he remembered his two day trip to China with his Auntie LoLo.

It was something dragon related, but Preston couldn't remember. That had been quite some time ago, and he wasn't even sure if that was what the professor wanted to know or not. He went ahead and raised his hand, realizing that if he was wrong, or off, there wasn't anything horrible to make of it, he was sure the professor wasn't going to dock points for trying, right? Right.

"Th-there's a-a Ch-Chi-Chinese set c-c-called th-the G-g-gold-golden D-d-drag-dragon." Preston told the professor, suddenly remembering the golden part of the name. He bit his lip as he lowered his had, not sure if he had it entirely correct. Maybe it was Dragon of Gold...

Ugh, tarot cards?

Destiny only knew of one type of deck, and she wasn't even sure they were a real deck. She had seen her Grandmother use them, and well, that woman is as batty as they come. Merlin knows the woman could have made the deck herself.

She raised her hand anyway. "There are the Cat People Tarot. I don't know what they do, but they have pictures of kitties on them."

And kitties were coooool!

"Can't I HOPE?" Or protest? Maybe? Or ask really, really, nicely. With please.

Errr. Well, Ellie knew what cartomancy was from last term. He'd mentioned it. But... she didn't know specifics. So, yeah. She'd wait until Reynolds answered.

"There are the Benedetti, Marseilles, and Phoenix tarot card set," Lila said with her hand raised. She was surprised she could think of any let alone three. This made her very proud of herself.

The professor was saying something, right? Was he? Yes, he was., so half listening to what the professor was saying, Josh yawned again his eyes still closed. He knew a few variations of tarot cards yet he was not sure if he wanted to say it out loud. Because the idea of sleeping was more attractive to him instead of jumping on his feet to answer a question like a Ravenclaw.

So, raising his hand, of course without looking up or doing anything else since he was too comfortable with his text book, he decided to speak. ''There's Celestial Tarot, sir'' the Gryffindor boy said and moved to get in a more comfotrable position.

After writing the topic in her notebook, Evelyn glanced over to Josh when he started moving, giggling slightly at what he asked her to do. Aw and here she thought this was one of his favorite classes. Why sleep in it?

That was her job!

"Sure." she muttered, slumping down in her chair slightly and doodling in her notebook as she listened to the Professor. Seems like he caught on to what Josh was doing too.

Name some of these decks?

Pfft, just say a few random words and it was probably a tarot deck like it out there somewhere. Listening to what the others were saying, she continued to doodle...random dragons...all over her page. Eh, she plenty more pages to write information down.

"There is the, Guardian tarot set." she said after raising her hand. That was pretty much the only one she knew of, besides a dragon set, but someone already mentioned dragons. Psssh. Cookie girl was lucky that it wasn't her that said it.

"Theres the Occult deck" she said looking at her nails in bordem. This stuff was seriously way too easy.

Shaking his head at Fletcher....because the book didn't say anything about maps!...the boy raised his hand.

He'd been doubting this one, perhaps the Professor would enlighten him, "Professor, is it true about the Gummy Bears deck?" because it just sounded plain odd to him.

And it also sounded like something Sir Fletcher would say, truth be told.

Treyen's question about whether Fletcher was good in divination was answered.

Fee raised her hand as she spoke up.
"Well, there is the Fairy tarot,the art nouveau tarot and the tarot of the witches."

"Well, I'm not sure what it's called, but isn't there one with a picture of two people falling off a building?" she asked. She remembered seeing that somewere.

Alice quickly copied down into her notebook everything that Professor Reynolds had put on the board with the flick of his wand. Alice thought for a moment...different types of Tarot decks?

"Professor isn't there The Curious Tarot. The pictures on them were kind of creepy to be quite honest," Alice said, recalling the pictures on them. "I think they depicted the workings of an atomic age, and I believe they are very difficult to come by."

Listening to his recently found favorite teacher, Riley eventually thought of a type of tarot card deck he could say. "Professor Nolan, there is a deck called the Phoenix tarot deck that was created in the 20th century and are very colorful." he said nodding as he lowered his raised hand.

The Gryffindor fifth year eagerly wrote down the other names of decks that his classmates were saying. he then glanced back to the Professor to see if he was correct. He could care less about the others

Peeves hadn't had fun in a LONG TIME. He hadn't had a chance to cause REAL mayhem since the slumber party! Peevesy was bored and it was time to come out of hiding, but where?

When he noticed there was a Divination class going on, he swooped in, INVISIBLE to everyone as he floated around trying to find something FUN to do. HEHE. CACKLE.

THEN the silly SILLY professor turned his back to the chalkboard, looking through his man bag for something. SILLY PROFESSOR! It was a starting point, he'd come up with something better later.

He swooped down, still invisible, and grabbed a piece of chalk, writing in huge letters "PROFESSOR REYNOLDS SMELLS!" before turning visible JUST for a moment to blow a raspberry behind the professor's back. HEHE HOW FUN! He had missed this!

He turned invisible a second later, swooping off to the corner to wait for another opportune moment to be MISCHEVIOUS!

Pam was dazing off, when all of a sudden, the chalk started moving on it's own! She gasped, at what it wrote. Who would do this? The divination teacher was one of the coolest teachers here! Then the creature came into view... A ghost. Huh, it didn't really surprise herr. They must get bored just floating around.

Then, a........ raspberry?? What the heck??

hmm, Emmaleigh was sure that she had looked at some of these decks when she was shopping for her school supplies. But which ones had been her favorites. She thought about this for a while, and then raised her hand to answer. "Well, there is the Robin Wood deck, DruidCraft deck and my favorite, the Fantastical Creatures deck."

Jeesh. This was TOO COMPLICATED for Rose's brain to process right now. She was still sort of hung up on the whole 'Morgana-is-my-sister' thing, really. Divination was just confusing! And she didn't understand it at all. What was this 'Curious Tarot' thing? Was it reallly the 'Curious Carrot', por something? She had NO IDEA what a Tarot was, and why it was curious. Carrot was soo much better. And it was food she could eat, which seemed a really good idea right now - she was so hungry. Glancing round to make sure Proffessor Reynolds wasn't looking, she popped a muggle sweet into her mouth, a sour cherry thing. Yum.

And then she heard the words 'Proffessor Reynolds' yelled really loud, and she thought someone was gonna tell on her. But the sentence went on to say that... Proffessor Reynolds smells? Nope, Rose didn't smell a thing. She sniffed the air experimentally, but... nada. Nothing. Zilch. And she hadn't seen anyone yelling, either.

Weird. >_<

Listening to the professor and taking notes, JD looks up briefly in his writing, watching as words formed on the blackboard. His eyes widening, he looked at the professor surprised. How on earth was he doing that...without his wand too. he thought shocked. As the words continued to appear, his eyes narrowed.

Someone or something in the roo..."Peeves!" he gasped aloud as the figure appeared, then disappeared just as quickly.
