'Thanks' said Maddie, grinning. She started to sing her latest song - Me and You. It was soft and lilting, and definitely her favourite song she'd written

"Wow, that was really good." Adelyn replied once Maddie finished singing.

"It's a great song. I don't know who Taylor Swift is, but she must be good." Kay said trying to think of who this person could be. Sometimes being pure blood had it draw backs. "I didn't much get to listen to Muggle music." She said. well at her grandmother she wasn't able to listen to anything really.

Thinking about the music, Kay thought about singing. "No I don't think I would want to sing in front of people. Adelyn is way better then me." She said hearing Rex say that this Taylor person was hot. "Oh really. Well maybe you would like to be with her instead of me." She said turning her back on Rex. She tried to hind her giggling, but she had to put her hand over her mouth. She knew Rex was joking and she wanted to get him back.

"Oh, she is. She's a very popular muggle artist." Adelyn explained to Kay. Taylor Swift had actually been on of the reasons Adelyn started writing her own music; she had really been an inspiration to Adelyn. "I'm sure you're very good at singing, probably better than me...but being better than me isn't very hard to do. I'm not that great." Adelyn replied, brushing a stand of hair out of her eyes.

"Well you did Taylor Swift proud" Rex told Adelyn. " Well, you never know about family" Rex said to Adelyn. " I can't wait for you and Maddie to sing" Rex smiled at both girls.

" Yes, I do think Taylor Swift is very good-looking" Rex told Maddie. " I can't wait to hear you sing with Adelyn" Rex said to Maddie.

" Beautiful singing" Rex told Maddie. "Well if they have a singing competetion at HogWarts, you will probably will be one of the top singers" Rex said to Maddie.

"You would be in competetion for the top ten in a singing competetion at HogWarts, too" Rex told Adelyn. " I enjoyed your singing, too" Rex said to Adelyn.

"Wow, great song" Rex told Maddie. " Who is the artist?" Rex asked Maddie.
" You and Adelyn are a terrific duo, too" Rex explained to Maddie.

" Oh, I do not think Taylor Swift would even look at the best part of me" Rex laughed. "Taylor Swift is a young Muggle country singer" Rex explained to Kay.
"Well, you never wanted to dance in front of anyone either" Rex said to Kay.
Now how did that not want to dance in front of anybody work for you?" Rex teased Kay.

'The artist?' asked Maddie 'Well...um... actually, I wrote that' she said, blushing 'Did you like it?'

Gold had to laugh. "Xylon is going to think I keep tabs on him, or something," she said. "But I think we've talked enough about him, for the day. For the year," she corrected, mirthfully.

"I know." She reached out a hand, to pat Vanessa's shoulder. "I've been through a lot of relationship drama, in the past. I can relate to that, Vanie." Great. Now she had shortened the nickname. The thought made Gold's lips turn up, into a smile. She could be so silly, at times.

"I guess I should get going, it's getting late," she said, as she glanced at her wristwatch, and realized it was time for her patrol. "But we need to meet up, again!" Maybe Gold could tell Vanessa what was going on in her own life, then. It was always nice to have a girl-friend, to talk to. "See you around then, Vani-la?" She smiled, gave Vanessa a quick hug, before picking up her things, to head back to the castle.

She was hungry.

"I figured that," he mused, as she admitted it was Vanessa who had spilled the news. This was just dandy! She better not say a word or let it slip about what they had talked about yesterday. Seriously. He would be so mad at her. Madder than he was now. "To be honest, I don't really like her at the moment either," he said, looking down at Ella.

He laughed and just gave a shrug. "It took me ages to think of it," he stated proudly puffing out his chest and then giving her a small bow. "I don't particularly like it, no," he said, through gritted teeth. That was such a dumb nickname.

"Why don't you like her?" Ella asked with an eyebrow raised. Even though it was a great thing to hear him say. Hopefully she would just leave the school altogether and not bother to return. Perfect scenario. "I thought you and her had a little 'thing' together." She added in a flat tone. Not that she liked to admit it, but that was her actual opinion on the pair.

"It is wonderful. But I think if you used it regulary, people would be freaked out." Probably just as much as if she went around calling him Pattykins. "Okay. Promise not to call you it again." She said, smiling sweetly up at him.

"We had an argument I guess you could say. It really didn't go down too smoothly," Patrick explained, with a frown, and looking over her head at the tree house in the distance. Some things he didn't have control of and this was one of them. "Not anymore," came his reply. His head seemed far off. Back to Earth Patrick. He blinked and looked back at her.

"Then I'll freak them out," he grinned with a small chuckle. She couldn't make him chicken out that easily now, could she? "Thank you." He smiled at her face and felt that there was some sort of bond between them.

"Well, I did not like the song... I loved it" Rex told Maddie acting like the Muggle Simon Cowell from American Idol."You are going to have a job writing songs when you graduate from HogWarts" Rex said to Maddie. " I know I have a friend, well actually Kay's cousin, Excelscior who might need a song for his Potato Chip business" Rex explained to Maddie. " you should check out the job fair and tell him Kay and Rex sent you" Rex smiled at maddie.

"Oh, I don't think so." Adelyn shook her head, blushing. "I could never be as good as her." She laughed, "Maddie, you really are very good." Adelyn blushed again, slightly embarrassed; Maddie was so good, far better than she could ever hope to be. She looked down, running her fingers anxiously through her curls, then looked back up, smiling like always.

What? How could she think that she wasn't that great. "Oh you sing really well. I have never sang in front of anyone. I don't think I could do it." Kay said quickly. "What kinds of music do you write?" She asked Adelyn.

Rolling her eyes Kay listened to Rex put himself down. "What? Well she doesn't have good eyes than." She said with a sigh. "haha haha..Dancing is different. I have you. Singing is well be myself. No way." Kay said folding her arms across her body.

"Thank you, Kay, but you shouldn't doubt yourself. I bet you could do it, you're probably really, really good." Adelyn smiled at her; she was always far more concerned with everyone else feeling good about themselves than herself. "I write a lot of different kinds. A lot of love songs, some about my friend Shawn, I think I've written one or two about my dad. I write lyrics, and Shawn, he comes up with the melody and plays the guitar. He's taught me a few of them; maybe I could play one for you sometime, if I can get my hands on a guitar." She giggled.

Shawn? Ummm who was that? "Well, I guess I could try one day when we are a lone. Not in front of everyone." Kay said looking at all the people around. "Could I try one of your love song?" Kay asked her thinking maybe she could learn it to sing for Rex. "SO. Who's Shawn?" She asked smiling at her.

"Yeah, definitely; that'd be awesome. I could teach you!" Adelyn suggested, smiling brightly at Kay. "Sure you can. I'll pick a few out and you can decide which one when we get together, okay?" She continued, feeling really special Kay was interested in learning one of her songs. "Oh, Shawn. He's my best friend from back home. We've been friends forever, since we were like, three. We do everything together, I've never been away from him for this long. It was really hard to say good-bye, especially because I can't write him." Adelyn said, her smile fading slightly; she just realized how much she truly did miss him.

"Well, as much as I appreciate the love of your mum, I care more about the love of her daughter," he said with a smile from ear to ear. "And I find that hard to believe that she would love me more. I guess I fit the pureblood criteria, but I have other blood in me I'm still not sure she'd agree with." Rafe laughed. Rafe really liked Marilyn's mum. She was more of a mother than his own and certainly had a way of showing love and affection he'd never experience in his own household.

"I'm sure Aurelia would like to meet you too," Rafe said. "She's quite a little socialite for a baby...definitely gets that from mum." Rafe reached in his pocket and pulled out the two photos he'd been showing everyone. There were getting a bit worn and wrinkled by this point. "I don't know if I've shown you these or not, but mum sent them right after I got here." He handed her the picture of him holding Aurelia, and then one of just her.

" Do not put yourself down" Rex told Adelyn. " You are a great singer" Rex said to Adelyn. "Can I hear another song?" Rex asked Adelyn.

"Well, then she does not have good eyes " Rex told Ksy. "What I really meant is she is a star and I am just a fan" Rex explained to Kay about Taylor Swift."Well, ok no singing, but lots of dancing" Rex said to Kay. "Would you help put this purple and white cream on my shoulder?" Rex asked Kay. " The healer told me to use this cream" Rex smiled at Kay.

"I'm really not, though. There are so many people better than me." Adelyn argued. She didn't try to put herself down, it just happened that way. "And sure, I'll sing another song." She began thinking of which song to sing. "Um, okay, I've got it." Adelyn took a breath, and began to sing:

Adelyn grinned, showing off her dimples on both of her cheeks, once she finished the song.

"You did? What about?" Ella asked curiously. She was being kind of nosy but hopefully Patrick wouldn't mind. She turned to see what he was looking at but really had no idea. Perhaps he was just daydreaming. She nodded and tried not to smile as he continued. "That's a shame." She said with no emotion. It wasn't a shame, it was great to hear!

"Ooh okay." Ella laughed then thought about how silly he would look going around calling her 'The Ellanator'. But it would be very funny. "Hmm. I just need to think of a really cool nickname to give to you." She put on a thoughtful expression. Seeing as Pattykins wasn't good enough. Pfft. He was dissing her imagination here.

"About Vanessa dating Aiden," he said in a flat out tone. Gosh he disliked that boy right now. Who did he think he was? Those two hardly even know each other. "Nice lying to make me feel better Eleanor," Patrick added, smirking at her while he said it. She couldn't honestly expect him not to tease her.

"Think away dear. It took me two days to think of your nickname." It had mostly been while he was in the Hospital Wing. Luckily his whereabouts had been safely hidden by the boys in his dorm. He looked at her again and said, "Can I ask you something?"

Kellen stood well back from the tree, watching it warily. Thankfully, the one thing the wilds of Canada seemed to lack was whomping willows. Or any other kind of 'looks nice but smacks you' plant. Just straight-up pine needles and thistles. Still, he'd needed to stretch his legs and while he was walking through the grounds he figured he might as well stop and look.

Olivia ,who had her pink hair pulled back into a side plait, skipped along the pavement near the whomping willow. She was scared of that tree so she stayed far away from it. Olivia wasn't even looking where she was going until BANG she bumped into someone. Olivia looked up, noticing at boy."SORRY !"Olivia said, looking up at him. Clumsy clumsy Olivia...always bumping into peopel.

Kellen stumbled back a little when the girl knocked into him, and rubbed his side, "Don't worry about it. Are...? Your hair is pink." It seemed a rather obvious observation to make, but he couldn't help making it. First Satine with her purple locks, and now this girl? It kind of made him wonder if someone was playing a trick with spray-paint.
