She bit her lip, smiling. She heard him whisper to her. She didn't want to interrupt their conversation. Slowly, she got up and walked over to him. "Hi, JD" she said, smiling shyly. "I think I have some explaining to do.."

Bethany's (Nia) gone for the night ;o) just you and me Ellie
 

Looking at poor Ellie, she obviously was confused, JD knew he would be too, if he was in her shoes. "It'll be ok, Ellie..." Trying to smile at her, to let her know that.

"Nia, is just trying to get me to understand about my abilities..." he says quietly.

Turning himself completely toward Anya, as she walked over to him. His face brightened completely. He didn't want to seem rude to Nia or Ellie, but...Anya was back!

Wrapping her in his arms, he whispers into her hair. "It's alright...I'm just glad you're back!"

As JD whispered into her hair, she smiled, and a tear almost escaped her eyes. Things were finally getting better. "Im sorry." she said, "I'm really sorry I left without telling you. But I'm back now."

Ellie scrunched up her face... she was going to tell him that he did have abilities. And amazing at that. And she hadn't even seen the whole flying upside down thing.... She just didn't understand why anyone so good would quit! And it frustrated her that he didn't see that he was good... But he walked away...

She suppressed a shrug and turned to Nia. And just stared at her, waiting for some explanation...

"I'm glad" Letting go of her, he looks at her deeply in her eyes. He could sense something had happened, but just wasn't sure exactly what. Glancing around the room, he figured it probably wasn't the best place for just a quiet talk with the two of them, so it would have to wait.

Her eye glistening...with an unshed tear, he wondered silently to himself. He wasn't sure but he didn't comment either.

Looking over at Ellie who still seemed bewildered by what Nia had said and done, he gives her a small smile.

He wondered if Anya and him were still an item, or if their time apart was too long... His eyes held questions when he looked back at her, but he didn't dare ask them, incase the answer was what he feared.

She looked back into his all-too-familiar eyes and had to suppress the tears again. She wanted to tell him what happened, to have nothing to hide. "I don't want to keep secrets from you." she said, "Should we go to the lake? I feel like you should know what happened."

Hopefully, if they went to the lake, they would both find answers. He was most likely wondering what happened, and she was wondering if he still had feelings for her. Had he met someone else? Was he mad that she had left? Had they been apart for too long?

Nodding, "All right. As you wish" he adds with a wink.

Looking over to Ellie and Nia, "I'll catch up with you two later." Turning seriously to Nia, he adds "And I promise to think about what you said Nia."

Taking Anya's hand (which he hoped was alright...) he exits the common room with her.

Jacob had fallen asleep while staring at the ceiling. His head fell to one side and he started to snore...Loudely.

As he slept, a dream creeped into his head of himself talking to a bunny. The bunny was said some rather mean things to him. "no go away" he said quietly. And jerked awake, geez there had to be something in the water he just drank. Then again, he's had crazier dreams than trash talking bunnies.

Jacob looked around, why hadn't he noticed all these people when he came in... Oh yeah, he was too busy enjoying the fact the he didn't run into any walls. He watched as Mina sat down, she looked unhappy. Depression was spreading like a disease in this place. "Are you okay?" he asked her.

Mina looked up and shook her head. "Not really," she sighed. It was her own fault for feeling as she did and she didn't want to really bring down anyone else. She really needed to learn how to hide her emotions and feelings better.

Closing her journal, she rested her head against the back of the armchair and let out a sigh. "Just hating on my life and stuff." Yeah, that really summed it up right there.

Jacob realized that the girl didnt really want to talk. He knew all too well that if people wanted to open up, they would do it on their own. Bugging them wont help. Jacob just nodded, it was better to leave it.

Jacob looked out the window and then back a Mina. "Arent we all" he said staring at his feet for a few seconds "This school is going to kill us" he said shaking his head. They might be unhappy with two diffrent things, but it all came down to this. The school was nuts, the staff was nuts, even events that take place during the summer are nuts. So pretty much anyone who went to this school is crazy nutties. And yet he keeps coming back...

Mina laughed softly and nodded her head. Jacob did always seem to get it. Maybe that's why she had always liked him as a housemate. Why hadn't she hung out with him more was beyond her. "Yeah, the school is going to kill us all and the people in it are all in on it," she sighed. Hogwarts was her home and all but since the moment she stepped on that train to leave last term, it had changed and it was rather scary for her. She wasn't normally like this and it was annoying her to no end really.

She was supposed to be helping their house win the House Cup again and all she'd been doing was hiding out. Seriously, that was not like her at all. Looking across to him, she nodded. "Seriously, this place and the people here might just be the death of us."

Jacob tilted his head back and just stared at te ceiling again. He was transfixed on the stars. They were really nice to look at. Jacob just stared at the ceiling anwd smiled a bit. "But you see thats the point, We're going mad bit by bit. We have to live each day to its fullest, or we'll be consumed quicker" Jacob paused for a moment, did the star just move. Wait, yeah he was going crazy. Then jacob started again "Things happen, whether its your fault or someone elses. You cant hold onto a grudge forever. Live and forget, just live and forget"

Ha, he was like a human fortune cookie

Mina nodded as she listened to Jacob. He had a point, but she wasn't willing to just let go of the anger in her. Well at least, not yet. Why was it she was the only one that was hurting over it. It wasn't fair at all. They all got happiness and she was left with tears and feelings of emptiness. Definitely not fair at all. What had she done to truly deserve to get the shortest end of the wand?

Looking up at the stars, she sighed. "True, true. But I believe in karma as well. It's unhealthy for me to hold on to a grudge, but I'm not willing to live and forgive yet. Why shall I be the only one that feels fate's string and others get to feel the calm?" Why had she been dealt that hand when she had done nothing wrong, but been a friend to them all.

Yeah life isn't fair he knows that already. "I don't know, maybe its because you allow yourself to feel it." He's never really bothered himself enough to think about it. "Emotions are overwheling, but its just another part of life. sometimes you allow them to engulf you." Jacob just couldn't answer it straight out. "Dont bother yourself with it too much though. There are more important things to do than just ask 'why'" He could give a list of 3 right now. Eat, sleep and eat.

Mina nodded as she continued to look at the stars. "Emotions make us human and it's not like we can truly just turn them off." she sighed. It would be easier if she could turn her emotions and feelings off. But that wasn't who she was at all. It was a battle to keep them at bay as is, but to turn them off completely would be even more difficult for even her. Chewing on her lip slightly, she let her mind wander once again. Jacob was right though. There were more important things to do and she needed to start focusing on them. The House Cup and keeping up her marks topped her list. She just needed to get her priorities in line again.

Anya walked back into the common room, considered sitting by the fire, decided she was too exhausted, and sluggishly walked up to the Girls' Dorms.

"It is huge! You come and visit during the holidays if you like," she would ask Jason first but she knew that he would be alright with one of her friends coming over.

"Make sure that you do," Nia said with a smile, but a firm undertone in her voice. It was her subtle way showing confidence in him. She gave him another wink. Oh yes, Nia was working in weird ways as a Captain.

Nia let JD talk to Ellie, and stood to the side, her gazed flickering around the room. She listened to them. At least JD had got the point of her actions. To make him think.

And then Ellie's gaze turned to her. It was a steely glare and Nia rubbed her lips together. Was it usual for a first year to look slightly intimidating. Good job Nia had always had a certain confidence in what she did.

"He needs to find it in himself," she said walking to Ellie and moving them both away from where JD was with Anya. "I told him that he was good on the way to the hospital wing - and yet, he was still down after today's awesome session. A different tactic was needed." She bit her lip. "You knew I wasn't talking about JD, and I knew that - but he wasn't letting himself listen to work out the truth..."

Emily walked into the common room crying, she held a letter in her hand. Her legs gave out and she fell to her knees crying, she couldn't believe it! How could her parents do this to her, and how could she tell Emilya? What would her sister do when she found out?

Emily sat on her knees staring off in front of her without looking at anyone, tears still streaming down her face. She looked at the letter again, and still couldn't believe what she was reading.

Emilya walked into the common room, her feet may have been dragging on the floor but she wore a smile on her face. Thanks to her sisters influence she was comming out of her shell more and more and becoming a whole new person. She wasn't watching where she was going and she tripped over someone that was on the flor, she got up to realize it WAS her sister, and she was crying.

"Oh my gosh EMily did I hurt you?" She then noticed that from the tear stains on her sisters face that her sister had been crying before she had fallen over her.

"Here," EMilya said offering a hand to her sister, "Let's take a walk and you can tell me all about it."

Emily took her sisters hand in hers. There was an instant energy that she felt from her sisters fingertips. What Emily was going to say to her sister was going to bring her sister down farther than she had ever been in her short life. Emily decided to tell her someplace less crowded, so she pulled on her sisters hand and headed towards the entrance hall, where at this time of day there were less people.

"That sounds awesome I would love to come! I don't mean to intrude or anything...."

Timothy would have to ask her to come to his uncle's castle as well....

Ellie's face did change after that. Though, she was still so confused, she now knew that Nia was on her side.

"Well, of course you couldn't have been talking about JD.... He's excellent." she said.

Then she took a minute to try and work out what Nia had done. "So, you were trying to make him see that he was all those things.... by telling him that he's not?" No wonder JD wasn't confident, that was way too confusing for anyone to figure out...

"No, I would send a owl to him to say that you was coming with me" she told Timothy, she was happy to have a new friend.
