Her smile faded for a moment when he said he was talking to someone. Peeking from behind the chair, she looked over to where a lone boy was standing, looking in their direction. Oh a boy? Well then that was a different story, she didn't mind that. So, taking Kel's hand, and brushing off her skirt, she walked over to the boy, sticking out her tongue at Kel for a moment as he said girl's where weird. "Yes, and it just so happens that girls are your closest friends, and one happens to be your girlfriend, so I'd watch it mister." she teased, grinning.

Holding out her hand to the boy she smiled sweetly. "Hello! I'm Jennumara Blood, but to be honest, who want's to even start trying to say that, so we'll stick with Jenn." She smiled once again, her brown eyes taking him in.

Kel tipped his head sideways to look at Jenn, giving her a wink. Yes, he knew that all his closest friends were girls. But that wasn't his fault! He drew girls to him like moths to a flame. ...[/ego] Just kidding. Girls were just easier to talk to and become friends with, for Kel. He didn't know why, they just were.

He listened as Jenn introduced herself to Brody, then he smiled slightly. "You can call her Fwig, too." he cut in, then quickly side-stepped to avoid a smack from Jenn that he had a feeling was coming. He didn't need to start the school year with a smack. He chuckled at what the boy said about girls needing to slow down. Wasn't that the truth? All the girls that he really knew had a tendency to be hyper and always went 100 miles an hour. Take Jenn, for example...

"Join the club," Kel said to Brody cheerfully, holding a hand up for the kid to high-five. "Most of my friends are girls, too." he nodded, his eyes flashing proudly. When Brody said that Kel was the first guy he'd met, Kel's eyes widened. "Really? Ha. I'm sorry." He was only semi-joking.

She... didn't know the origin of her name? How peculiar. By the time she could talk, Cedes had already known the origin of HER name. Though it never really occurred to her that no one really cared about the origin of their name. Mercedes figured that names said a lot about people, including the origin. AND their taste in music. If someone liked a rap? Gang member. If someone liked country? Mhm... that was hard to say, some country was good.

"Well that's nice. Thank you. And you can call me whatever you like, really. Though I do prefer Cedes because all throughout elementary school, people made honking noises whenever I passed by. Truly annoying. Don't want to relive that again," she said, smiling slightly as she shook her head. The horror. That was probably the only time that she absolutely dreaded going to school. And probably what confirmed her theories of cooties. Men became unbearably cranky and moody and mischievous when they got them. Which was why Cedes had suspected Professor Kaziman having it. He was... an interesting... person. Maybe children and elderly people were particularly vulnerable to it.

Oh. She was following her. Heh heh. Cedes wondered if the girl would notice if they climbed the stairs and all the way into the Girl's Dormitory. Probably. She forced herself to stay where she was.

And then the girl asked her a question but Cedes was slightly distracted, not enough to not know completely what the girl was asking. But Cedes was partly psychic so it wouldn't be too bad if she hadn't heard. "Oh... well if Kazimeriz was still here, I'd say... don't get stuck in a room with him. In fact, I'd just avoid him period, but thankfully he's not here anymore. We pretty much have new professors this term. All I can say is... do your homework. Attend class. Try not to get lost on the moving stairs because the name says it all. Annddd be nice to the Squid at the lake."

Will opened his eyes blinking in the rapid light. He wasn't tired in the slightest, though he should be after all that food he ate. Looking around in a bored way he saw a third year - or so it looked to him - sitting on the couch fixing a bow in her hair. Grinning he slung his legs over and stood, picking his bag up and walking over to the couch. "Hey, mind if I sit here? Too warm by the fire." he said in a cheery voice. She didn't look too familiar to him, though he didn't know a lot of Ravenclaws like he should. "Unless you'd rather be alone; either way." he added after a moment grinning.

Then she felt slightly bad. "But then I guess, if we lived in a movie and such, that it would be fate. And if such a girl existed, they'd be bound to meet. Good luck with that, Adam."

Jen noticed his sudden change in attitude, and wondered if it had been because of her. "You want to find her though?" She pressed, gazing into his eyes and nearly losing her train of thought.

Keeley glanced up from her still blank page of paper, seeing a boy that couldn't be but a year older than herself standing in front of her. She blinked in surprise, as not a lot of people normally approached her. She was just the weird girl with ink on her hands, a title that she rather enjoyed, actually. But people were always welcome, as long as they weren't physcopaths or something. But this guy didn't seem to have the crazy eyes. "Uh.. sure. Not like it's being reserved or anything." She smiled, brushing a curl of blonde hair that always seemed to be getting in her face. Now, there still was this blank parchment to think about... or really, what to fill it with.

Abby walks into the Ravenclaw common room and marvels at its contents. She is really liking Hogwarts so far! She walks over to an empty chair and sits down. She recognizes a few people from the feast. She sits and lets her thoughts wander. She wonders aloud if she will get a lot of homework. She spies a bookshelf not too far away and stands up. She wanders over to the shelf to pick out a book. She peruses the titles, eventually just selecting a random book with an interesting title. She sits back down and gets comfortable in her chair. She quickly glances around the common room, and then begins to read.

Arlie grinned at the girl's comment on her name. It seemed that Cedes did know that she was named after a car, and didn't really seem to care. Arlie would just have to remember not to make honking noises. That would be simple, for her. "My friends call me Arlie," Arlie amended. She'd rather not be called Arlette for the next seven years. Her brothers had dubbed her Arlie before she could walk, and there was no reason for her to be called Arlette suddenly. In fact, if too many people called her Arlette, that might actually make some of her brothers mad at her. "And I'm sorry people were insensitive about your name's origin. Cedes, and Mercedes, too, is a nice name."

But at the girl's advice, Arlie just blinked for a moment. Kazimeriz was a funny name for a professor, though the person--man?--himself didn't sound too pleasant. Doing homework and attending class, that was a given. Wasn't that what everybody did in school? And as to the stairs and the squid...Surely Cedes was just pulling her leg. Stairs didn't move. That was a preposterous idea. And there would be no squid in any lake, except maybe a salt-water lake. Weren't squids salt-water animals? So they'd be in only oceans. Not lakes.

"I'll be sure to be a good student," Arlie promised, not saying anything about the stairs or squid. She didn't want to look gullible, but she also didn't want to sound like she had no sense of humor. Sometimes silence really was best.

Nodding as he chuckled he sat down beside her noticing her empty white sheet of paper. "I'm William Cullack, a fourth year." He said holding his hand out wondering if it looked too strange to shake a fellow Ravenclaws hand. Not if they didn't know each other, right? He didn't want to look like a strange person, not that he wasn't a bit strange. People just misunderstood him that's all. "Are you going to draw something?" He inquired, glancing down at the white paper in her hands.

Taking out a small pouch filled with gummy bears he opened it offering her one. "Want a gummy bear?" he asked green eyes bright.

Keeley smiled in a hopefully normal way, as you never knew with facial expressions. She could've been squinting or something. "Keeley Smith, a third year." she replied, shaking his hand as if it were the most natural and modern thing to do in the world, whereas most people would think it bizarre. And maybe it was. She glared at the stubbornly blank piece of parchment, as though it was all it's fault that she had no ideas at the moment. "Eh, I was. But I'm having a bit of a block today. Maybe the whole getting back into routine is it, you know?" He probably didn't know. Keeley was a sort of flighty girl, and her way of think was quite weird to other people. But the slight frown on her face dissapeared at the sight of gummi bears. Duuuude, she loved those things! She had gotten them as a treat in Germany every once in a while, which was actually where they originated from. But they were called Harribo Gold-Bears there. "Yes please." she giggled slightly as she recalled having them in New York with Bella in her first year. "Once I got one that was conjoined or something. They were siamese twins." Too bad she'd eaten them though, as they were pretty awesome looking.

Mhm. Arlie was a nice name too. It reminded her of Carley. Or barley as in the food-ish hay type thing. Thinking of food led to Cedes feeling quite hungry now, even though she had recently eaten. She was just a very hungry person. She wasn't sure why. Maybe her mother's large appetite was transferred to her too. She just possibly ate more than her brothers and that was saying something. Her brothers were like a pack of wolves.

"Arlie it is! To come to think of it... Arlette seems like French-ish Latin-ish name. Somewhere around there..." Off topic... but that had been bothering her. Cedes HAD to know the origin of every person of every house at their school. Was she crazy? Nawww.... impossible. "Aww... thank you." This girl was just complementary and adorable.

Cedes merely nodded her head when Arlie promised to do her work. Good. She wanted to win the House Cup this year. They had won it last year but too bad. She wanted to win it every year. And she wanted to win the Quidditch Cup. Things seemed to had gone down hill ever since this big championship game win a few years back when Cedes was in about her second year or so. Hufflepuff kept stealing it. Mehhhhh...

"Don't forget about the stairs. I got lost and was late for class a bunch of times in my first year, thanks to those stairs. And don't forget about Bartholomew Henry. The squid? He likes compliments. But you seem to be good at that." Really good. Cedes felt all warm and fuzzzehh.

Adam simply smiled and deeply sighed. "it's okay. I just feel bad that I broke Selena's heart."
