Red and sweaty, Ty heaved and panted as he finally arrived at the CoMC professor's office. Man, Hogwarts was BIIIIG.

Gently holding Send (that's not Ty's hand) in his hand (the fact that she was a tiny elf owl helped), he eyed the students waiting there before going up to the door himself and banged on in. "Professor, Professor! Send, my owl, something's wrong with her! Her wing is all crooked and weird and she's so sad! Please, Professor, you have to help her - she's only a baby, only two months old!" Ty said, his tiny fist banging as hard as he could on the heavy door.

He felt Send begin to shiver in his hand. EEEP. She wasn't allowed to die!! She COULDN'T. She was still a baby - she had to grow and be big and stuff. Ty couldn't remember the last time he had seen her eat - maybe all those BIG owls had taken all her food??!!!?!?

MEAN. Mean mean mean and evil.

Professor Lawson was in the back room of her hut when the students started to arrive. She had just laid Ava down in her crib when she heard the knock(s) at her door. Quietly, she slipped from the room and closed the door behind her, leaving it open just a crack in case the baby woke up.

Eager to see who had come to visit, the professor hurried over and flung open the door. WOW!! That was a LOT of students. Some she recognized; some she didn't. "Hello everyone," she said brightly. "Please come in."

Kevin smiled at the Professor and entered the hut and said "Hi Professor my name is Kevin McKay i am looking forward to your lessons this year"

Ellie walked in.

"Hi Professor, my name's Ellie Stone. I just had a question for you..." she said, looking around at all the other students? Really? Was it that hard to talk in private anymore.

As the Professor opened the door, the freaked out little boy barged through the hordes of people in attempt to reach the Professor. Apparently, he would need to repeat what he had said before - and Send was still shivering!!!

"Hold on, Send, just hold on - I'll get you fixed in no time... Though you should have eaten, you know, migh-" Ty cut his whispered rant off, figuring that giving his baby owl a lecture might not be the best idea right about now.

"Professor!" he began, squeaking up at her as he held out his injured out for her to see. "Something happened to her! She's just a baby, but she's always really tough and feisty and you know, ENERGETIC and healthy - but look at her wing, Professor, it's all weird and bent and she's shivering and she's only two months old, my Send, she was a gift and Professor help me, I don't want her to die!"

Ty stopped without taking a moment to breathe, not caring that he was interrupting other people. HIS OWL WAS DYING. And she was in PAIN. Send needed his help, and Ty would not rest until she was given the best care he could give her.

She was NOT going to die.

Ivory watched from beside her best friend as they were joined by more until there was quite a small bunch on the front step. Smiling at the newcomers, she had to admit that her curiosity was a bit piqued at the appearance of a boy who explained that not only was he blind but also had a pet eagle. Having a falcon as a pet herself, made her all the more curious but-

Suddenly her attention was draw to a more important fact however... the opening of the door and the appearance of her mother away from home and her favorite professor.

"Lady Lawson!" Not able to contain herself, Ivory gave the woman the biggest hug she could.

Many thoughts had run through Arya's mind, so many in fact that we don't have the time to go through them all. Just know that none of them had anything to do with the current situation. When the door swung open, she turned from the big group of students who had crowded around the professors door with a big grin.

"Hey Lawson!" She gave her a big hug with her bestie as well before letting go to explore the office. Since she had never been in here before, the second year started with the first thing that caught her eye, the same as when in Sir Lawson's office, the many pictures.

Magnolia hung back a little. She was feeling a little shy about meeting her new professor and the crowds weren't helping. She slid back out of the office and decided to come back later when it was less busy.

"Yeah.And I'd rather not try it."

An obvious answer.

"Well I mean other than just to hang out."

Ellie laughed.

"Yeah, that would be the smartest thing, I guess." she said. It would still be funny to watch. As long as he didn't hit a tree.

Josey walked over to Mrs. Professor Lawsons hut. Arya had told her that she was a pretty cool teacher, so she wanted to meet her. She walked up the steps and knowcked on tha door. Then she waited.

"Welcome Kevin, I'm Professor Lawson. Lovely to meet you," she said. "There are fresh cookies on the coffee table by the fireplace, please help yourself."
"Good morning, Miss Stone," she said, opening the door a bit wider to allow the students to file inside. Questions were easy enough. "Ask away, dear."
Iliana nearly jumped back when she heard the scared, little boy speak. He looked absolutely petrified, holding his tiny owl in front of her. "Sweetie, calm down," she said with a sorrowful look upon her face. Just by looking at the little bird's crooked wing, she could tell that it was broken.

"I'm sure that I can help her," she assured him. "Place her on my desk and we'll give her a thorough examination." Iliana found it always helped when the kids could watch over their injured pets as she treated them. It seemed to set their minds at ease somehow.
Seeing the dynamic duo, a smile stretched across Professor Lawson's face and she wrapped her arms around them. "Good morning, girls! I'm so happy to see you," she exclaimed, giving them both a big squeeze.

Before she could say anymore, she heard another knock at her door. She loosened her grip on the girls and said, "Make yourselves at home, ladies." Then she peered out the open door.
There, standing on her steps was another new face. She smiled down at her and waved her inside. "Good morning," she said. "Won't you come in."

Maggie was so excited to meet the care of magical creatures professor that she basically skipped down the lawn to her office. She didn't know exactly what she was going to say, but maggie figured she would just be honest and hope for the best. She knocked on the door to Professor Lawson's hut and waited with baited breath.

Kevin smiled and said "Thank you Professor Lawson" Kevin made his way over to the fireplace where the cookies were and took one to eat he was excited about care of magical creatures this term for some reason

"Well," Ellie began, slightly annoyed she didn't have alone-time with the professor. "I'm very interested in this class, and was wondering if I could take it seeing as I'm a first year... And also, I had heard there was somewhere where you let students take care of animals..." She said this shuffling her feet. She wasn't shy. Just a bit embarrassed, wondering what the other kids would say, seeing as they could hear her.

"Good Mornin Lady Lawson." She beamed up at the woman before steping into the hut. Arya sliped out of her shoes(she said make yourself at home) and placed them beside the door before walking around the room.

She was of course slightly oblivious to the other students with the exception of her best friend as they spoke to Lady Lawson. She was much more interested in the items the filled Lady Lawson's hut, having never been inside it before.

Running her socked feet over the rug, she slowly began to work her way around the room, looking at all the pictures and awards before moving on to cage. "How are you doing Lady Lawson? How's Ava?" As she eyed the cage curiously, she didn't bother to question where the infant was assuming her to be with Sir Lawson.

Josey took a tentative step into the hut. "Hi," she said shyly. "I take it your professor Lawson?" Mrs. Professor Lawson that is.

And just as the professor was closing her door, there was another knock. Good Merlin she was popular today!

Reopening it, she looked out with a cheerful smile stretched across her face. "Good morning," she said. "Do come in."
Walking back towards her favorite chair, the professor nodded at Kevin and said, "You're very welcome. How can I help you today?"
Still standing behind her chair, Professor Lawson listened to the young girl's questions. She adored the way new students seemed to take an interest in her lessons. Thankfully, the rules had changed long ago allowing everyone to attend. "That's a great question, Miss Stone. And the answer is 'Yes'. Even as a first year," she explained.

Iliana glanced out her window towards the stables and smiled dreamily. "There is such a place," she answered, purposely vague. "More will be explained during my first lesson. I do hope to see you there."
Professor Lawson nearly giggled when she saw Arya pacing the floor in her stocking feet. She watched as she peeked inside of Vincent's cage and wondered just how high she'd jump if (or more likely WHEN) his tiny head came springing up at her. HA! She'd never see him coming.

"Just wonderful, Arya. We all are," said casually, holding back a yawn. "I just laid her down for a nap." She nodded her head in the direction of the back room and brought her finger to her mouth in a 'shhh'ing gesture. "How was the rest of your summer?"
"Good morning," she said, motioning the timid girl closer. "Mhmm, that's right," she answered. So she had heard of her. 'From whom?' she wondered briefly.

"Professor Iliana Lawson," she said, holding out her hand. "To whom do I owe the pleasure?"

Ellie was relieved.

"Oh, I'm so excited. I will definitely be there!" she said, enthusiastically.

"Josey Flow," she said as she shook professor Lawson's hand. "I was talking to Arya and I asked her about the professors." Speaking of Arya, Josey noticed that the older girl was there also. "She said you were nice, and I decided to visit." She blushed, and fell silent. She was shy, but once she got talking, she could really talk. She just hadn't gotten to that point yet.

Still peeking into the cage, she let her flicker to Lady Lawson when she vaguely answered the younger girl's question, a small smirk creeping on her face. The woman never did give away hints as to what they would be learning in her classes, she had learned that last term.

"It was good, we visited a lot of the sites in London." She said, lowering her voice as her gaze turned to the room Ava was in before falling back onto the cage. Arya leaned her head closer to the cage when she thought she saw movement, which was a big mistake. Once the creature inside finally took notice of Arya, he lept up to the front of the cage scaring the bejeebers out of the second year. She leapt back, almost stumbling, with a startled expression obviously not expecting it.

Arya looked at Lady Lawson with a sheepish grin, "You could've warned me." A hint of laughter in her voice. Gathering herself, she step closer to the cage and studied the golden creature with bright eyes. "Is this a......" She paused thoughtfully, "....Golden Snidget?" Oh yea, she knew her magical creatures. It is her favorite class, so of course she had opened up her book on creatures over the break. Spotting Josey, she gave the girl a little wave.

"That's wonderful!" Iliana said; the girl's excitement filling her up. "I'll be looking for you up front and center," she added with a wink.
"Well Josey Flow, it's very nice to meet you." Hearing Arya's name, the professor shot the older Hufflepuff a look. "Arya's good people. Keep close to her and I'm sure your years at Hogwarts will be some of the best in your life."
Luckily, Iliana was standing close enough to Arya by this point to steady the girl if she fell. "What?! And spoil the fun? Never in life," she teased, letting out a short, shrill whistle.

At once, Vincent zipped out of his cage and perched contently on the professor's shoulder. "That's right, Arya," she said, petting the snidget's tiny head. "This is Vincent. Would you like to hold him?"

CALM DOWN!?!?!?!?!???? NNOOOOOOO!!! EVERYONE said calm down when someone wasn't going to be ok. They'd tell them to relax and take deep breaths and stuffs - OH NO!!! Ty had gone as white as a sheet and he simply placed his Send down gently on the table, his tiny hands shaking violently in sync with her own quivering.

She was a present from Uncle James. She was HIS owl - his FRIEND. His feisty, loving owl friend. SEEENNNNDDD!! "O-Okay," Ty's squeaky voice shook, and his eyes wide eyes stopped blinking as he focused on what the Professor was doing.

Front and center?! Eh, maybe not. But she'd be there.

"Can't wait." Ellie smiled, "I'll see you then."

Then, seeing no point in staying, especially since so many people were coming in, she left.

"Thank you Professor Lawson, my name is Magnolia. I came to see you because i wanted to know if there was anything i could do to help out with any of the magical creatures?" Magnolia paused, she knew she sounded like a really big nerd but she just loved animals. Back at home she volunteered at a muggle animal shelter and she was always bringing home animals and helping to find them homes (much to her parents dismay). "I'm very good with most animals and i would like to learn as much as i can about the animals here as possible" she said smiling. Maggie could barely contain her excitement, she had been looking forward to Care of Magical Creatures since she saw it on her schedule.
