Gosh! She had done it!

"Surprise! I did it," she said, with a grin. But, back to the talk. To which Gold could finally pay the attention she wanted to. "France sounds the perfect place, to attend college," she said, thoughtfully. "I mean, that's where I've grown up." But the healer wouldn't want to know that. Which was why Gold turned the conversation back to the real topic, at hand - healing.

"I'm personally interested in Spell Damage and Creature-Induced Injuries," she said, pleasantly. "I have a love for nature, and an interest in magical creatures, so that makes me more inclined towards the latter, but I can't say I would choose it over the other." She was quiet for a second, then said, "I guess it's possible to specialize in more than one field? Of course, I suppose that would consume quite a period." Money, too.
Siiiiigh. Another ailment gone, Cavity Sam was sad. Once the ailment was removed, it transformed into a Blood-flavoured lollipop.

Salim nodded with a smile, yes another successful player. He would have to get himself a lollipop before they ran out. Sliding his hands into his pockets, he considered her words before answering. "Those both sound like good fields to go into, but I wouldn't recommend studying them both just because the workload would be astronomical." It was stressful enough studying one branch, two would drive a person mad. "I would suggest Creature-Induced Injuries since you have a intrest in magical creature, but you seem lika a young lady who likes a challenge so Spell Damage might intrigue you more so than the former. Not that healing Creauture-Induced Injuries isn't strenuous."

She smiled at the guy at the front, and picked up one of the pamphlets. As she picked it up, she noticed the huge game that had been set out.

Wow.

That looked like fun.

She'd play that later, though. She wanted to read this pamphlet and maybe ask a couple of questions first. Somehow, Iris knew that being a Healer would be waaay different to playing doctors and nurses when you were little.
Spotting another student, Salim gave her a warm smile. She didn't ask any questions but if she had some he would be more than willing to answer her questions. Or pass her off to his partner, whichever.

Iris looked up from the pamphlet and smiled back to the man, "Hullo... Are you a healer?" She asked him, folding the pamplet up.

The lollipop had ... quite an interesting colour. Gold was actually kind of suspicious about that, and decided not to eat it, at the present. Maybe she could give it a tiiiny lick later, to see if it had a nice flavour.

"I don't think I could handle both, simultaneously," the sixth year said, cheerfully. "Even if I give that a shot, I don't think I would be able to focus fully, on either, and I don't like half-done stuff. I would rather concentrate on one, at a time. But I guess I still have some time, to think things through. Two years of study." Nearly two years until she graduated.

Leilani looked around smiling. This was what she wanted to do when she grew up, she wanted to be a healer. She was pretty good at fixing people up. Minor stuff, nothing big. But blood didn't make her queasy.

Looking around, Lani saw people playing some kind of game. She decided not to join them (she wasn't the best at levitating things) and instead decided to look around for someone she could talk to about becoming a healer.

She noticed a few pamphlets laying about for people to pick up and decided to take a look at one.

"My thoughts exactly. Two years is plenty of time to decide what branch of healing you want to go into." Salim picked up a pamphlet and handed it to the young red head. "This pamphlet contains information you'll need to know about being a healer, including the scores you need on your NEWTS. Are there any other questions you have Miss?"

Salim's eyes flickered over to another young girl who was looking at a pamphlet. Instead of disturbing her he decided to let her glance over the pamphlet. She could chose whichever one of them she wanted to speak with.

Gold nodded, and then accepted the pamphlet. It contained a lot of stuff she knew, and some that she didn't. Of course, she had only skimmed through it right now, but it would make an excellent bed-time read. Not that she was worried about the grades. Gold was pretty sure she could get those. though she did need to work harder, if she hoped to graduate with NEWTS grades that could satisfy her.

"No," she shook her head. "But thank you. It was nice, talking to you. I think I'll head over to the University booth, now." She gave Mr. Malik and Stella can't-remember-her-last-name a polite smile, neatly folded up the pamphlet, and straightened up. "Have a good day, sir - ma'am." Turning around, she walked away, giving Fia a little wave as she passed her.

Now for the University booth.

He smiled. "You are more than welcome. I wish you the best of luck in choosing a branch of healing." Salim watched the girl go for a moment before turning back to another future healer.

Gazing at the board game, Salim ran his hand over his hair contemplating her question. He didn't know much about different ways to heal those who were allergic to potions, but maybe Stella did. "Well Miss Fia, finding alternative healing methods for those who have allergic reactions to current medicines is not really my forte. Why don't I turn you to my partner, Miss Stella?" He gave her a small smile and motioned to Stella.

"Ahh... A Mediwizard? ... Um ... What exactly is the difference between a Mediwizard and a Healer?" She asked him shyly. Merlin, she felt dumb. It was probably really obvious, too.

Iris'd never had any reason to go into Mungo's, though, and the only medical people she'd ever saw were Healer Avalon, Ashton and the weird woman who liked pink.

"There are wizarding Universities?" She asked him, looking up from the leaflet. Iris honestly didn't know that. Interesting to know that she didn't need to go into work straight after Hogwarts, though.

"Potions Master," Stella said instantly. "Or research, at least. But Muggle medicines and magical ones aren't the same, and it would be completely shocking for a witch or wizard to be allergic to every possible variation of a potion... where that might not be true of Muggle medicines. But I think Potions research is the way to go."

Seeing how his partner was explaining career options to the young girl, Salim turned his attention to the other younger student.

"A Mediwizard is another type of Healer who works at wizarding events, like quidditch matches and tournaments. We're the ones tending to the injured players. When I'm not working at events, I work at St. Mungos as well on the Artifact Accidents floor. Does that sound like something that intrest you?" He smiled down at her, not bothering to address the second question. His partner had done that for him.

Iris listened to the man, who said he was called Salim, as he explained the difference, "Hmmm... I think I'd find that more interesting than always working as a Healer in a school or at St Mungo's." She pondered over his words for a while, "So when you're not healing Quidditch Players' broken arms, you're fixing people up who've been cursed or hurt by old stuff that shouldn't usually hurt people. You have such a COOL job." she said to him, grinning slightly.

A broad grin spread across his face at her complement. "Thank you, I think so too. I don't heal the cursed though, just wizards injured by magical artifacts like brooms, wands, and cauldrons. I don't think I'd be able to handle that."

She looked over to the giant game, "Yeah! I wanna play it, it looks really fun! I saw Gold playing it, when I came over." She said, looking back to Salim.

Leaving the Wizarding University booth, Cadence made her way over to the Healer display. It seemed there was some sort of game here that people could play if they wished, but maybe she would read the pamphlet first and see what it said. Picking one up, she skimmed through it, reading aloud the NEWT requirements. "Exceeds expectations in Potions, Transfiguration, Herbology, Charms, and Defense Against the Dark Arts," Cadence said and then sighed. Sure, she did well enough in all of those classes, but maybe she'd have a better idea of whether or not that was possible after she took her OWLs this year. Walking over to the woman Healer, Cadence held out her hand. "Hello! I'm Cadence Ballard!" she said with a warm smile. She had some questions about what it was like to be a healer... and about whether or not this woman thought Cadence would be good for the job.

"Then I suggest you look the Mediwizard field, loads of work done outside of hospitals." He paused for a moment to consider her question. "I heal the people who are injured directly by their magical artifacts. Lets say your wand explodes while your attempting to preform magic and injures you or a potion goes bad and the cauldron expoldes in your face. Those are the types of wizards that I heal." Salim grinned at the girl's thoughts on the Spell damage floor. "Every floor has nasty injures depending on the severity of the injury. The more you see them, the less likely you are to be grossed out by said injury."

Taking a step closer to the game, he tried to figure out which girl she was refering to but quickly gave up, there was no way he could remember all the students names. "Well its simple. All you have to do is levitate the ailment out of Cavity Sam without hitting the sides of the openings. You up for it?"

So, like ... when you're in St Mungo's, do you heal the people who've like, knocked their cauldron over or if their spell backfired or something?" She asked, looking at him curously. "Nahh... I think some of the effects of the curses would make me feel too, eh.. I dunno the word. Some of it's nasty, isn't it, though - in the Spell Damage, I mean. I don't think I'd be able to handle that."

She looked over to the giant game, "Yeah! I wanna play it, it looks really fun! I saw Gold playing it, when I came over." She said, looking back to Salim.
Stella listened with interest as Salim talked about what he did. She wanted to explain the wild and wonderful world of Magical Bugs and midwifery... but they weren't talking to her.

And sometimes when she started to talk, she couldn't stop. Best bite her tongue.

"HI!" Stella greeted the girl with a broad grin. "Crazy NEWT scores, right? But I bet you can do it. What year are you? Have you thought about being a Healer? 'Cause if you have... well... I bet we can answer all your questions."

Cadence returned the woman's smile warmly. She seemed very nice. "Well, I'm not so much worried about the scores. I'm pretty good at classes. I'm a fifth year, and I don't know really. It's something I've been thinking about ever since we found out or Destiny Numbers in Arithmancy. It said was destined to do something where I encouraged people and built people up, so one of the things I was thinking about was being a Healer," she explained to the woman quickly. "But I'm not sure if I have the right disposition," she said with a bit of worried look.

Leilani looked up from the pamphlet. She was about ready to talk to someone about her "future"..... Therapist moment. "Excuse me?" she asked. "Are you a healer?" she was so gonna prove her dad wrong. She could too take care of people!!!

Becca smiled back at the man. She thought she'd tackle questions first and said "Hello! I was wondering, after attending Hogwarts, is there a higher level of education needed in order to become a healer?"bShe waa curious because her aunt had attended university after she'd finished her upper school edu

Salim turned to the young girl who had finally spoken with a smile. "I'm a Mediwizard, similar to a Healer. Doesn't mean I can't answer any questions you have about being a Healer. Do you have any?"

"Well, there's the Pre-Healer program at Wizarding Universities." He jerked his head slightly in the direction of the WU booth. "They have their own booth here as well. But you don't have to attend University. There are a number of different ways to becoming a healer. You could study under healers at a private practice or intern at St. Mungos, just to name a few." He paused. "The main requirement is that you do well on your NEWTS."

"Oh, gosh... that's a good one. So many people think that just because they like people and want to do good that means they should be a Healer. But honestly... you have to have as steady a constitution as a steady hand, and I think a sort of general stubbornness that says you know you're bigger and badder than anything that can be thrown at you. Bedside manner is important, commitment, attention to detail... lots of things." Stella looked at the girl eagerly. "Do you think you can do it?"

Becca nodded and looked in the direction of the booth in question. "So, it's a bit similar to the muggle quivalent." Becca inferred. "What sorts of classes would a potential healer want to take?" asked Becca. She knew that she was a few years shy of NEWTs, but she wanted to be prepared, if in fact she decided to become a healer.

Cadence listened as the woman spoke, trying to decide if she was all of these things. "Well, I can definitely be stubborn, and I do have a steady hand. I think that if it meant helping someone and making someone better, I would do everything I possibly could to help them. I wouldn't give up," she said confidently. It was true. If someone needed Cadence's help, she would do whatever she could possibly do, and she firmly believed that. "Oh! I have another question, though! What's the difference between a Healer and a Nurse?" she asked, looking down at the pamphlet again and then back up at the woman.

Oh okay. Well, close enough.

Leilani nodded. "I was wondering a bit about which classes I need to take." It wasn't too early to start thinking. She was a fourth year. Hehe, she did not look it though.
