Vanessa looked up and saw Patrick. Speaking of the devil was an expression but it seemed as if it was a good expression to use at this point. "Hi." She said quietly and looked down at the ground. "How are you?" She asked her voice cracking and she wiped away one tear that had slipped out of her eye. At this moment she did not want to argue with Patrick it would hurt her even more if that was even possible.

"Hello," he replied to her greeting. He looked over at her and saw as a tear slid down her face. He wanted to do something about it but she had a boyfriend so he wasn't going to push it. Besides, he already had a possible girlfriend. "Not so great actually. I take it you probably feel the same?" he asked, turning to look straight in front of him.

Vanessa nodded in agreement. "Can I ask you something?" She asked wanting to know the answer to the question. "And it would only be between us, if you want I suppose." She sighed. She had many questions to be answered but she needed this one to be answered to most.

"Yeah sure, go ahead," he nodded, glancing back over at her. Well this would obviously be important if she said that it wouldn't have to be shared with anyone else. He may not answer it if it's too personal. He waited there to hear what her question was going to be. There weren't many students around. The hallway was rather quiet.

"When we..well..erm.." Vanessa started to stutter because she didn't know exactly how to phrase this. She took a deep breath in and out and finally came to something. "When we hung out together before Hogwarts started and when we..kissed, did that mean nothing to you?" She asked looking at him, straight in the eye. She wanted to know the truth even if he said it didn't mean anything to him.

Patrick was very surprised to hear her ask if that kiss had meant something to him. He didn't know how to reply at first. "Well..um..." he stuttered, wracking his brains to find the answer to that question. Did it honestly mean anything to him? "You have to understand I did it unintentionally Vanessa," he started, looking down at his hands. "But it did mean something," he finished. Why was she even asking him this?

Vanessa frowned and looked back up at him. "Can you tell me what it meant to you because this entire time I thought that you liked me and that I liked you. However I guess that wasn't the situation seeming as you like Ella." She said flinching a little at Ella's name. "Like you said before, I tried to impress you, which I tried so hard but it didn't work, I guess." She said looking down at the ground.

"As I said before, you're dating some other guy in case you've forgotten Vanessa. I'm not the guy to pursue a girl who's in a relationship," he explained to her, tapping his foot on the ground, simultaneously. He may not be the best kid ever but it just wasn't in his nature to try to ruin someone else's relationship. "It did work. You just---picked the wrong person I suppose." Might as well admit it now right? "I'm with Ella now Vanessa. We kissed the other day." Let's see how this reaction would be.

Vanessa's eyes went wide. Before the whole plan it had worked but then once the plan had started, everything was wrong. The next words that came out of his mouth was jibberish but she knew she heard them. She stood up and shook her head, in shock. "No." She said softly. "Gold and Nikki, they were right." She said feeling the tears fall down her face. "So does this mean you're getting married to her now? That the feelings for you need to be gone?" She asked calmly.

She sighed. "I need to be honest with you because I just can't handle this anymore, Patrick. I like you, I've always liked you and the whole thing between Aiden and I? That was a joke, a trick, it was a fake just to make you jealous. It's great to know that you'll be happy with Ella now though." She said letting another tear fall. She waited for Patrick to speak.

Patrick could already feel himself boiling up. He was not going to explode at Vanessa. He would control himself. He already sent Trixie to the Hospital Wing. "No Vanessa--I don't know what I'm doing with my life. I haven't figured it out yet so just---bare with me," he said to her, standing up and running a hand through his hair. He was probably going to go bald someday.

He was in disbelief by what she said next. That was all fake!? "You can't be serious," he started, walking around in a circle then running a hand down his face. "Why even pretend to date someone?!" Patrick shouted out of anger. "You realize I'm not just going to ditch Ella right?" She had told him a little too late.

Vanessa couldn't speak as he started to talk then shouted at her. Now she was scared and felt even more guilty than she was before. "I know it was stupid but it was all I could think of at the moment. Once you finally admitted that you liked Ella I ended up breaking down in front of Olivia, so I know she's going to tell everybody the stupid plan. Then I told Aiden and we called it off. However I couldn't deal with all the stress, drama and things where you would flirt with me, then every other girl!" She yelled. She wiped the tears coming down her face, she needed to be strong at this moment, crying later.

She frowned but knew it was the truth. It wasn't like the muggle movies where you tell somebody you were lying and they come straight back to you. "I know that." She said. "I didn't expect that from you either. I know you hate me right now and I can understand it. You have no clue how hard I tried to get someone to actually like me for who I am and still nobody does!" She yelled once more. She could not shout like Patrick, but if she could there would be windows breaking.

Justin walked down the corridor and saw some people talking down there. He didn't know any of them so he just sat down on the floor quietly. He was pretty bored and had nothing better to do at all. He had finished his song and didn't have any letters. Well not that he knew of anyway. He hadn't been to the Owlry since he arrived at Hogwarts and thought maybe he ought to but he just couldn't be bothered.

Chase walked along the corridor with a bag full of fireworks and dungbombs. Well fireworks might get me expelled and dungbombs smell bad. I CHOOSE DUNGBOMBS!She walked along planting or setting off dungbombs as she walked. She had to hold her nose by the time she had planted at least 50. Her giggles need to be controlled.

Olivia walked down the corridor, her long pink hair falling behind her back .She was still upset from the whole Vanessa and Aiden thing. She then looked over and saw a familiar face...Justin. Bleh..she hoped he didn't see her. Olivia quickly walked past him in hopes of him not noticing. It was kind of hard to not notice Olivia so she was sure she was going to fail miserably...

Justin looked up and saw Olivia. Not that he wanted to talk to her but he needed to be social right? "Got anything else to say to me after making me split up with Violet only for you to break up with me too?" he said to her sounding rather harsh.

Bahaha. Fail. That was the only word that could really describe this moment right now. Damn, Olivia needed to find a way to fit in better. Maybe she should dye her hair brown ? Nah...that wouldn't work. Hearing Justin's voice she sighed. Did he really need to be that mean ?"No actually I don't. "she said with a shrug of her shoulders. PLEASE GO AWAY JUSTIN, her midn screamed.

Patrick knew he deserved the yelling deep down even if he didn't want to admit it. He hadn't been completely fair and he had kind of screwed up both of their lives. He listened as she shouted everything at him and leaned against the opposite wall. "I'm sorry I messed your life up so much. There was no need to be completely in love with me though!" he added, raising his voice and looking at the ceiling. "I already warned you about my recklessness Vanessa. It's not as if you should be surprised," he added, looking back at her from across the hall.

"I don't hate you," he explained, feeling guilty she even assumed he did. Was he angry right now? Yes. Did he want to shout more? Yes. Would he shout? No. "It's not as easy as you think Vanessa. It's not like a muggle movie where we kiss and make up." He knew she fantasized about those things. "And don't say that. Of course I like you but I like you as a friend." Yeah she probably didn't want to hear those words.

"I'm not suprised, it's just that..I didn't want it to be true." Vanessa said calmly. She didn't want to shout anymore, she would probably lose her voice by the end of the week. "I wasn't in love with you, Patrick....I just liked you alot." She said sighing.

"Well that's good to know." She said with loads of sarcasm in her voice. "I know that! What you don't think I don't? I'm not as idiotic like your girlfriend and everybody else!" She knew that came with coldness. She knew he might yell at her for that but it felt good saying it. Of course she wanted that to be true but it wouldn't. This was real life and real life hated Vanessa. She looked down as he said he only liked her as a friend. "Fine, in your mind we can be friends, but not in mine..at least not for a while. I need to get over this if you don't feel the same. Especially when you're with Ella." She spit out the girls name like it was nothing.

"I'm sure you didn't," he said, feeling completely miserable. Maybe coming to Hogwarts was one of the worst things he ever did. Maybe there was a curse on the entire 7th year class. He didn't like arguing with her. He never had. Patrick said nothing as she said she didn't love him. What was love anyway? It was made up in his opinion. Something that could never happen to him.

"I'm not saying you're an idiot! And don't just start accusing me for things that I know aren't true," he said angrily, clenching his fists in effort to control himself. Self control. Something he lacked with misery. He took a deep, shaky breath and closed his eyes leaning his head against the wall. "Guess you need to get over this then. I hope you enjoy your life without me. I'm sure there's some guy out there for you," Patrick said with finality. He walked toward her and looked down upon her and raised her with his fingers. "It wasn't for nothing," he whispered. He felt tears welling up in his eyes. He never cried. This split was to benefit both of them.

Vanessa sighed and rubbed her arm, nervous for some reason. She did not want to hear him say that to her. "Well could you point this guy out to me, Patrick?" She said calmly however she hinted the sarcasm. She watched as he walked towards her and she noticed tears welling up in his eyes. "What wasn't for nothing?" She asked softly. "Don't cry, Patrick. Please don't." She said. If he cried she would cry as well.

"I have no idea who he is 'Ness," he said quietly, looking down at her. He just knew it couldn't be him. He didn't want them to separate with anger in both of them. It needed to be peacefully for him to feel any sense of relief. They were going to leave in less than a year and go their separate ways. "Our kiss," he explained, looking away from her. He heard as she told him not to cry but it wasn't coming in correctly. He leaned down and softly pressed his lips to hers. One last time. For a long time. Forever. "I'm not making any promises," he whispered with a tiny chuckle as a tear fell down his face.

Vanessa sighed and once he said that once they kissed that it wasn't for nothing she was a bit confused. Before she could asked he pressed his lips to hers and she tried to kiss him back but couldn't make herself. Once he pulled back she wiped away the tear from his face and shook her head. "That's not fair, you can't just do that, Patrick. You're with her." She said looking away from him.

"Let me put it this way, that's a goodbye kiss, Ella and I are not officially together; we just kissed," he explained. It was the truth. He wasn't with Ella. In fact, he wasn't even sure what they were because he hadn't exactly asked her out. He sighed as she wiped the tear away and took a step back. "I guess this is officially it," Patrick supposed, tucking his hands in his pockets. He gave her a brief smile. "See you around Campbell." He turned and started walking toward the stairs to the fourth floor. He needed the comforts of his Slytherin dormitory back.

Vanessa's hope grew a tiny bit but still she was sad. She nodded as he started to walk off. "Bye." She said simply. It hurt her that they were moving on..well she was but from their friendship..for now. There were going to be awkward situations in the future, she knew, but she would know how to handle them. "I really need to work on situations like these." She muttered to herself and walked off.

Justin raised an eyebrow failing to look at Olivia. He really didn't want to see her face right now. His mind was screaming let the witch go and his heart was saying get an explanation then get the hell out of here. "Then you won't mind explaining why you did it then will you?" he replied still in a harsh tone. After all, Olivia had just done one of THE most cold hearted thing's he had ever witnessed. "You owe me that at least" he said rather coldly.
