Entrance Hall The doors into the Entrance Hall are propped open, allowing balmy night air into the castle along with the elaborately attired guests. The walls leading up the staircase and outside the Great Hall are festooned with garlands of flowers twined with gauzy fabric, neatly framing the enlarged yearbook photographs from bygone days. Take a moment to examine the old photographs and look for your own, but don't miss the chance to shake hands with the current Prefects, Quidditch Captains, Head Girl, and Head Boy in the Receiving Line. |
Preston had gone to meet Eleanor, worried about her traveling such a distance. Despite her health having been excellent the past year, he was conditioned to worry. And dote. They entered the entrance hall together, his arm always offered. He gazed up ahead to the receiving line. Duty called. Patting her hand, he smiled. "I'll see you inside." And he headed to toward the receiving line to queue. Eleanor alternatively loved and loathed her brother's protectiveness. This evening, so far, she found it sweet that he'd met her and escorted her. Her arm tucked lightly through his, her eyes scanned the entrance way. Her memories of Hogwarts were dim, clouded by her sudden withdrawal. "Go, Pres. I can take care of myself," she smiled as she took back her arm. She was going to look at these pictures, some. |
Nymphy walked up to the front door. He took and few breaths and was about to enter when the idea of fog appeared to him. "Caliga!" he said, making a fine mist stream from his wand. When there was enough, he flew open the great doors and jumped in the Hall. "I have arrived!" he declared. He noncalantly swept from the Entrance Hall and proceeded into the ball. |
Josey was almost pale with nervousness. She felt completely out of place. Well, not completely, she was a student after all. As was everyone else. Well, except for some teachers. That was a little weird, but not very. She fingered her dress before walking into the entrance hall. When she realized what she was doing she dropped it, she needed to get rid of that habit. Well, at least she had stopped biting her nails. She looked around at the pictures before continuing into the ball. Well, not before giggling when someone entered, it was weird. But funny. |
Carter stood in the hallway shifting his weight from foot to foot. He looked over to the clock. Marie should be here any second. Truthfully he was a bit nervous. This would be the biggest and most elegant date they'd been on before. Actually, it was one of a handful of dates they'd been on since Marie spent half the year tied to Destiny. Jayden stood outside the castle with Jade. "Is it just me or does it feel a bit weird to be back?" he said looking over at his date. He smiled at her. "Shall we go in then?" he asked holding out his arm with his elbow bent to escort her. |
Fia made her way into the Great Hall feeling slightly uncomfortable. She still had to get used to dressing this way, but she knew that was going to take a while no matter what. If it were up to her, she would have came barefoot as she knew the shoes she was wearing would more than hurt her feet by the end of the night. GAH! Heels! |
Ellie stood outside the Great Hall. She'd stepped in for a moment, but was far more comfortable on the outside. She felt naked, wearing a sleeveless gold dress. She firmly believed that all garments should have sleeves, and this was very challenging for her. Worse yet, her blond hair was down and curled, ringlets surrounding her head. "This is so wrong," she shook her head, curls bouncing off of her cheeks in the process. Ellie just felt so silly and uncomfortable. Why couldn't this dreadful clothing at least be comfortable? She awkwardly tugged at her hem and adjusted her straps. She was certain no one would even recognize her if she walked into the ballroom. |
Stepping into the Entrance Hall for the first time in so many years Ari felt a wave of nostalgia overcome her until she shook it off, glancing down at her heels. Why did she have to wear these things; her feet were going to hurt later on when she began dancing. Hah. Lifting her head and moving a strand of brown hair from her face she noticed the pictures and started laughing. Nudging William she grinned, "Recognize that one?" she asked, pointing to the picture of a 17 year old Ari, bright pink highlights in her hair and a smirk on her face. Beside it was her best friend Vannah's picture and she grinned some more. They looked so young she thought, turning to look at the line up of professor, Quidditch Captain and Head Girl and Boy. "You can go off and do whatever Will, I'm going to go say hi to some people. Stay out of trouble." she warned, glaring at her younger cousin. Pulling at his tie William scowled, impressed with how things looked. The decorating committee had done an awesome job he thought eyes roaming the pictures. "huh, where?" he asked as Ari pointed out a picture of herself during her time at school. "Oh my gravy, pink Ari? Seriously, what were you thinking!" he laughed undoing the button on his shirt taking a deep breath. Walking over to the picture he tilted his head shaking it. Nope he just couldn't picture his cousin with pink highlights, yet there was proof. Seeing her turn towards the line with all the big people he nodded, looking over to the seating area. "Sure thing; and I resent that last remark." he added as he tossed a wave over his shoulder as he walked towards the seating area. |
Keeley skipped into the hall, rather wondering why she had come at all. It wasn't like she had a date or anything, but the temptation to see the fancy decorations and whoever the wizard band was, and most importantly, whether they had cupcakes had been too strong. But this whole ball thing might be fun, who knew? Too early to tell. And if it got terribly boring, she could always leave and go have ice cream in the kitchens with Emily. That'd be fun! She noticed some pictures hanging on the walls of people she didn't recognize and started to take a looksie. |

Colby arrived at the Entrance Hall looking for Hadley. Not seeing her there yet he felt relieved that he wasn't late. Looking at his watch he realized he was a few minutes early. He looked around to see if he could find anyone he knew from when he was a student here. Nope, he didn't recognize anyone yet. He leaned against the wall and waited for Hadley to arrive. He had a feeling she would be running late, as usual. |

Jade nodded as she looked up at the castle that was once home to her. "Beyond weird really," she replied as she looked back to him. He looked rather handsome tonight, but then again he was a very handsome guy. Smiling, she took his offered arm. "Do lead the way, kind sir." |

She had forgotten to tell Colby that something like this would happen. It always did when she was excited about something, and she was UBER excited about this ball! Arriving at the entrance hall, she pulled her compact out of her bag and did a quick hair and makeup check. Perfect, of course. Placing it back inside her bag, she looked around, trying to spot Colby. She chuckled at the thought of him being late, but knew that was not going to happen. "Colby!" she exclaimed making her way over to him. "Sorry I am late, I had a bit of trouble." Like trying to find the right shoes to match her dress! |

Somehow, coming back here made Mariska feel just the tiniest bit nostalgic. For certain, her life had been quite simpler when she had been a student here. She missed it at times. Both good and bad memories began to surface in her mind, but soon she was distracted by how...little some of the students were. Had she been so young looking at one point? Surely not. She continued on and into the Great Hall, mildly curious as to who she might see tonight and slightly relieved to be on her own for a night. Distractedly,Shoshannah tugged at the hem of her purple dress. It had come in a parcel, sent from her mother. The note within detailed her mother's wish that she, Shoshannah, have the "most normal" school experience possible and that included this dance. Apparently. It wasn't that Sho was anti-dances. She was just...indifferent. So she'd donned the purple thing and worn some very, very low heels and...pulled her hair halfway up as a means of styling it. " Well. Here goes," she mumbled to herself as she made her way into the room where obvious festivities were expected to take place, if the decor was any indication. |
Raven walked through the Entrance Hall, she was just pleased that there was finally an excuse to wear a dress since she had missed it; wearing robes got quite tiring and she had the chance to show off her own style. It appeared that Daniel hadn't shown up yet which wasn't exactly a disappointment since she had an idea he would take his time getting ready, at least it would give her some time to talk with a few of her friends as well as her partner in crime; that was incredibly important. Walking through the Entrance Hall, Amanda looked around and grinned slightly at the fact that she was actually back at Hogwarts; after 4 years, she had so much happen but never forgot the one school that really started everything for her. It seemed that there was going to be some sort of big deal when people had heard she was coming though thanks to having her "date", she wasn't exactly concerned. She looked around at the decorations and raised her eyebrow a little bit, whoever had worked on them definitely did a good job. |

She couldn't take her eyes off of him. "You look very..." Quote:
She looked stunning. He started to head towards her and gave her a hug and a kiss once thry were together. "You look absolutely stunning," he said unable to take his eyes off of her. "Trouble, what kind of trouble? I hope it was nothing serious," he said. |

"I do like red." he said. "And thanks. Shall we head inside?" he asked her taking her hand. |

Maddie stood nervously in the Entrance Hall, waiting for Timothy. She smoothed her robes, making sure they looked alright. She was still wearing the necklace Timothy had given her, and put her hand to her throat, feeling the cool silver. |

Merlin knows, she didn't until a few minutes ago. Blushing as he kissed her, she couldn't help but giggle as he now had her lipstick on..his lips. Wiping it off, since that would be TOTALLY embarrassing for him, she shook her head at his question, "No, nothing serious. Just had to find the right shoes to match my dress!" She went on to lift her dress a tad bit to show off her shoes. "I had to borrow them from my sister." Good thing they had the same size feet. |
outfits are posted in the "what are they wearing" thread Quote:
At least she'd actually dressed up. She was surprisingly comfortable in the fitted dress, given she still tended to prefer to not dress formally when she could avoid it. That was part of why she'd chosen the dress, along with wanting to prove she actually could dress nicely. Even if Paris wasn't there, she felt obligated to prove herself. Besides, she actually had reasons to dress up, given various events she'd had to go to after her book had been published. Not to mention other things. Looking around, her green eyes locked on the tall, familiar dark-haired girl heading toward the Great Hall and she smiled before glancing at Robert for a minute. "Come on," she said with a little laugh, before pulling him along behind her as she headed for Mari. She'd get him to enjoy himself, somehow. Quote:
As she worked her way further into the room, she saw Sho, looking like she wanted to be there even less than Grayson did, and she waved at the older Ravenclaw girl as she passed. They needed to meet up again sometime, whether it be to race up trees again or do who knew what else. That was why she liked the other girl. But then she saw Raven, and stifled a giggle as she approached her partner in crime. "Um, I see you went for glamour," she said with a grin as she looked up at the seventh-year Slytherin. "Can you still do pranks in that?" There were enough conversations going on between all the others flowing into the entrance hall that the innocent question could hopefully remain unnoticed. And besides, by now she had a feeling it wouldn't attract much attention anyway. They hadn't actually done anything yet. |
Quote:
Tugging at his jacket restlessly he sighed, "Why do I have to be here again?" He felt like a puppet in this suit. Reaching up he loosened his tie and unbuttoned the top button. "And why did I have to dress up?" He was a famous Quidditch player surely whatever he wanted to wear would've been fine. Spotting the unmistakable figure of Mari he groaned and allowed her to drag him toward Mari. "Liz..." Did she not remember the last time they'd spoken? Hopefully Cayden wasn't here though. |

Raven was getting rather bored of waiting around, it definitely looked bad for her since Daniel still hadn't shown up yet; but when she noticed Grayson, a slight chuckle escaped from her lips. Her partner in crime's outfit was rather interesting but it wasn't exactly something that she didn't expect, she knew the Ravenclaw all too well and it was still rather amusing to her. "Of course I did, this is a ball after all. And I wanted to distract attention away from our plan." A slight devious grin etched across Raven's red lips as she looked around at the other people, trying to keep her voice low. "I certainly can, I've done this many times before so I know how things are going to work; the main thing is we keep our true intentions for this event hidden, otherwise we're going to have some serious problems on our hands and I for one do not want to deal with that." She fiddled with one of her rings on her pinky finger, it seemed that this ball was definitely going to be something to remember. Heh. |
Kristin and Cinn :P Mari heard the sounds of someone...familiar, somewhere behind her and as she turned she spotted Elizabeth in all her petite and blonde glory. Or to be more accurately, she spotted Robert first and then spotted Elizabeth dragging him along. Just before going into the Hall, she walked back and moved around others going the opposite direction, waving a little at Elizabeth. " I was hoping to find you fast! Otherwise this whole night would be a waste." She said, smiling brightly at her friend. Upon reaching her, she pulled her into a fierce little embrace. " Your dress," She began as she pulled back to examine her, " Is fabulous. I love it on you." She said, and then she turned to Robert. Mmm. Awkward. " Robert...you look well. It's good to see you. Both of you." She said, pulling back a bit. " We should..probably go in and eat something while we catch up." she said, mildly aware that she was talking a LOT. |
Jake, in his uncharacteristically smart clothing, was waiting by the doors for his date. He was so twitchy and nervous, but excited all the same. Every now and then the boy looked down at the letter the girl had replied with. Quote:

And then they'd arrived at where Mari was, or at least to where she was headed back toward them and she smiled at the comment about finding each other fast. "Did you actually think it would be hard to find me?," she replied, a little teasingly. It couldn't have been that hard, really. Especially since she had a feeling Robert was sticking with her the whole time. He wasn't exactly inconspicuous. The thought went to the back of her mind, though, as her best friend finally got back to them and she was enveloped in a hug. "Um, thanks," she said a little awkwardly. She'd expected comments about her outfit, but it was still weird. "You look amazing too," she returned with a smile. Mari always had been a bit more into clothes than she ever had, though. And then she felt the awkwardness come back, and stepped back a little as Mari spoke to Robert. She really wanted things to be better, thought they were better. Really. If they could be. And she didn't fail to notice how much Mari was saying, without really saying a whole lot. "We should," she said with a tiny nod, agreeing with her as she decided she'd do whatever it took to get everyone less tense. Even if she had to use all her skills to convince Robert to stay. At least there was food. Maybe that would distract him so she could focus on everything. Quote:

Robert smirked and looked at Liz. "Big bad Quidditch star eh," he laughed and looked around wondering if Vindictus was here. That was one person he'd like to see. He still tugged at his suit slightly feeling rather irritated but hearing her words looked her up and down. Well she did have a point. Guess he better suck it up and go with it. As Mari med them he watched her and Liz hug and simply nodded as she said he looked good. "Thanks. You too." It was odd because he still hadn't forgiven her for what she had done yet..he didn't care for her in that way either. He didn't know what he was feeling anymore. Wrapping his arm around Liz he listened as the two talk, his eyes darting around for anyone he knew. Maybe Willow was here. Hearing something about food his attention was caught and he looked at the two of them. "Food?" He was starving. He was always starving it seemed though. At least Cayden wasn't here though that was one thing that he didn't need to worry about. Maybe it won't be so bad after all. Running his hand along Liz's side he gripped her hand. If only he had a game tomorrow and then he could leave early but...he'd much rather hang out with Liz all night. He looked down at her and smiled as she talked to Mari. He did love her. In a way he should thank Mari...in a way. |
As he walked in the entrance hall wearing his dark suit with a white shirt, Joshua looked around to see if Evelyn had arrived. Yet though Destiyn was there (she was looking beautiful) talking to someone who looked like Carter's Marie, Rose was nowhere in sight. Gah. Even the Stutters was wearing a suit and he looked funny in it. Heheheheheheh. Mmm stop looking at that way. He was not going to tease him this time. And with this thought he focused his thoughts on Evelyn and how she'd look while all girls looked that beautiful. |

Making her way up from the dungeons, blowing a stray hair away from her (finally back to) hazel eyes, Evelyn stopped for a moment at the crowd of people in the entrance hall. Well, she wasn't that late was she? Spotting Marie walk into the other room with Carter, the Slytherin smirked, having seen her only moments before, however, her smirk turned almost shy when she saw who she really was looking for. Well, of course, she was looking for a lot of people...but he was on the top of her list. Almost hesitantly, the girl walked up to him, taking note of his outfit and deciding he looked rather handsome in the suit, the Slytherin smiled once more, though perhaps a little more nervously. "So, you really are the master of everything." she said, gesturing to his outfit before clasping her hands behind her back. Eesh. Evelyn did not do nervous! It was too...nerve-wracking. |

Sweeping into the entrance hall and trying her utmost not to trip over the bloody dress she was wearing and stay upright on the four inch heels that were on her feet, Kayla looked at the familiar surroundings of the entrance hall. A small smile spread across her face, she had missed this place. How long had it been? Four years? It felt like a lifetime. As her gaze roamed the hall looking for someone in particular and she finally spotted him standing near the doors to the Great Hall. An even bigger smile spread across her face and her eyes sparkled with both mischief and joy. She headed towards her date for the evening and was by his side in moments. "Looking good Upstead" she said as she linked her arm through his. "The sneakers really set it off" she added in a whisper. |
SPOILER!!: quotes This...was more awkward than Mari had anticipated. " You're welcome," she told Elizabeth with another bright smile. When her friend turned the compliment back on herself, Mari smiled more. She couldn't help it. She'd always been vain; Elizabeth knew this well enough. " Thank you. I know it's plain, my dress...but I thought the plainer my dress, the better my accessories could be." She said, showing Elizabeth her earrings and necklace, as well as her bracelet. " Of course I knew I would find you easily. With or without your Quidditch man." She said, attempting to make things a bit less awkward. " Although, I have to say you being so dressed up would have made it a bit of a challenge." She teased Elizabeth lightly before looking over her shoulder into the Great Hall, which was when she heard Robert say something about food. Mari pushed some hair back from her face and smiled."See? I knew we'd find something in common." Mari laughed. " I'm hungry as well. We should go eat." She said, stepping back a bit and motioning for them to follow her. " Then I can show you some pictures of Bella and Alex," She said, sounding very excited about that. " Since I haven't sent you any since they were born," She said with another small laugh. |

The fact that Kayla once again towered above him, however, was blah. Jake didn't care. He gotted to see Kayla agaaaiiin. "Not sssso bad yourself, Winters," Jake winked, kinda almost stretching up a bit to try and seem taller. "You hhhhad to wear those bbbloody heels," he also hissed through gritted teeth whilst disguising his features as a smile. Hmmmm... where to now? Jake... had no idea. "Should we go to the rrrecieving line... thing?" |
Quote:
Chuckling softly, Kayla looked down at Jake something she was very used to by now. "Easily fixed" she stated and then slipped her shoes off. "Better?" Holy crap! The boy had grown some. He was almost as tall as she was now. That was gonna be scary if he got any taller, she wouldn't be able to boss him around anymore. At his question, Kayla turned to look at the receiving line and then turned back to Jake. "What the hell for? I can't see anyone that I know and besides I'm in the mood to party not make small talk." She gave him a wink in return. |

But where was she? He had seen a couple of Slytherins walk in the Entance Hall from where he stared however there was no Rose yet. So, trying to look like as if he was not interested in that passage where Slytherins walked out the Gryffindor boy started to look around and it was the very time he heard her voice. ROSE! Smirking widely he turned to reply to her words yet he failed to pronunce any word when he saw the girl in her black dress. ''I...'' he said then realising what he was doing and imagining probably how silly he looked he quickly spoke ''Wow! Rose, you look...perfect'' |
Quote:
Deciding to just forget about it, the Slytherin smiled once more, resisting the urge to fix her hair. "You look very nice too." Which was an understatement. He looked more than nice. Probably the best guy dressed here. Simple, yet...perfect. For him at least. Except...for that one piece of hair that was sticking up. She'd seen it before, and it always bothered her. Raising her hand, she looked at him in the eyes for a moment, before trying to gently pat down the stubborn hair on his head. Pfft. It was more than stubborn. "Nevermind..." she muttered, putting her hand back down and glancing to the doors. "Do you want to go inside? Or...are you waiting for somebody?" |

Hehehe. As Kayla kicked off her heels, Jake fought the urge to make a joke about stinkeh feet... but decided against it; the girl had a thing about whacking him upside the head. Stooping down to pick up Kayla's shoes, he hooked his fingers beneath the straps and straightened up again. "Let's go party thhhen," he grinned, making a note to try not to step on Kayla's bare feet. |
Quote:
When Jake poked his tongue out her, Kayla's hand darted forward and she grabbed him on the chin. "Get. Out" she said staring at his tongue and the piece of jewellry she could see. "You got your tongue pierced. When did you do that? And more importantly what did your parents say?" Hehe awesome!! Oh how cute is that? Jake is being the perfect gentleman tonight and Kayla intended on taking full advantage of it because she had the feeling it wasn't going to last long. "Yes let's" she replied with a small giggle. "So where are going to first?" |
Quote:
"I wwwas wondering when you'd sssee it," Jake grinned, and celebrated by rattling the jewellry against his teeth as he waggled his tongue from side to side. "Reeeecently. My dddad took me last tttime I was home." Straightening again and tugging on the black and white tie that was doing a good job at choking him, Jake thought... and failed. "I dddunno... but I'm pretty thhhirsty. Did you wwwant to get something to d-d-drink?" And once more, Jake held back from joking And then find somewhere to sit so we can ditch your shoes. They're making me gag. Nahhhh, her feet smelled lovely. Hehe. |
Moving along for food. :P SPOILER!!: quotey-quote-quotes Elizabeth grinned again as Robert picked up on hersemi-facetious excuse for why he had to come. "You know you were thinking it," she teased, before laughing a little as he looked around the room. "I bet he's here somewhere. We can find him eventually." He had to be thinking about Professor Vindictus. It was either that or some of their former teammates, but something told her it was Vindictus. Although she was curious if Willow was coming. That would just be interesting. And she watched him as he folowed her indication of her outfit, amused by how much he still seemed to be uncomfortable but was going along with her. But then there was the distraction that was Mari. Not to mention how her excitement was now tempered by the fact it seemed things were still weird when it came to dealing with her best friend and her boyfriend. In the same place. She still hoped in time it would be less weird. And she couldn't not notice how quiet Robert was being, as she tried to keep the conversation going. "You're welcome," she said as Mari thanked her for returning the compliment about their attire. "You can never go wrong with simple," she added, before leaning forward a little to look at the jewelry. "Pretty." She smiled again as Mari responded to her question, feeling like maybe tension might be easing up finally. "Well, you know I would have found you, at least. And I wasn't about to not dress up." Even if it was still strange-feeling to actually be dressed up. Too much time at home, where it really didn't matter what she wore. And then, as Robert had his arm wrapped around her, she laughed as he picked up on the food topic. And Mari responded. She glanced upward at him as he switched to holding her hand, before looking back at Mari. "Okay, I guess we better feed you both. Before we risk a disaster," she teased both of them, before starting to follow her best friend into the Great Hall. Then another amused look crossed her face at Mari's continued conversation. "Bella?," she asked, finding a bit of humor in it all. Especially considering she'd heard about them before. "Can't say I have any pictures. Since I'm fairly certain you don't need to see my Bella. Or Macavity." Her pets were still doing amazing, though, considering they'd lived in like three different places in the last few years. She was fairly certain she was pretty settled now though. As they crossed into the hall, though, she glanced at Mari again. "I did get my book published, though." She didn't have that with her, however. But she also didn't remember if she'd told Mari it was getting published, or that she'd even been writing it. |
Eyes shift left. Eyes shift right. Eyes look straight ahead. Brows lift mischievously while lips grow into a sneaky and wicked grin. It's been such a long time since he'd stepped into Hogwarts. About two years, and if he counted this one it would be three. Ah, was he feeling nostalgic. The things he did here. Most of it was thieving, but it was great thieving. Not that he did that anymore. No, sir! He was sent to Wizard Juvvie to straighten his act up, and he sure did so. Now he was even much more better at thieving and lying. Willie Crocker sucked on his teeth for a moment before straightening up, patting his clothes. The clothes were rented, so they looked a little worn off and dusty. He didn't mind, though. He came here for the fun. Willie placed his hand into his pocket and pulled out a gold pocket watch he 'borrowed' from the headmaster back in Wizard Juvvie. He opened the pocket watch, looked at it carefully, closed it and beamed. "Show time," he murmured to himself before he walked forward. |
Horrifying. That was the only way to describe it. She was terrified. Luckily she managed to scrape a decent strut in heels or she would've fallen over. Leant up against the wall of the Entrance Hall stood the Gryffindor - munching on what was left of her nails. "Bloody nerves.. bloody Oliver.. I swear to merlin and his fuzzy.." Her rant went on under her breath as she attempted to calm herself. Flushed and red-faced, she scowled. She'd put a lot of effort into her.. ermm.. look today. She had dark eyeshadow and her lips were done a bright, clashing red. She'd left her blush at home.. her cheeks would do their own highlighting tonight if the Slytherin Captain showed. She hadn't a clue why she'd agreed to this. A BALL!? Cameron couldn't dance to save her life - that much was clear from her aweeeeesome display at the dance lesson. Merlin, that had been embarassing. Sigh. |
Oh maan.. this was so stupid! Oliver was unusually nervous.. and not because of the dance, but because he was meeting a certain redheaded girl here tonight... as his date for the dance. It was a date, right? Oliver was still doubting that the girl had actually agreed to come here with him as more than a friend. He wasn't the most attractive boy was Oliver So after a deep breath and making sure that his cocky smile was in place to hide the nerves, Oliver sauntered casually into the entrance hall to find it rather packed. Looking over the heads of the other students (that was the beauty of being tall), he spotted the redhead leaning against the far wall looking.. none too happy. :erm: He wandered over to her and leaned against the wall beside her trying to look all cool and calm and casual. She looked so different with all that make-up on. Cute though. “Hey.” He said with smile still in place, ignoring the scowl on her face. “Come here often?” Oh ho ho ho! How hilariously cheesily cliché. |
Patroclus came streaming down the staircase! Oh fog! He thought berating himself! He was late; he had spent all afternoon working on the last section of the decorations and had only an hour before rushed off to shower. The team had worked hard on putting it all together, and here he was nearly missing it! One arm was still out of his jacket as he leapt the last few stairs, grinding to a halt he pulled it on, and straighten his shirt. Turning to gaze in the reflective chest of a suit of amour, he ran his hands one last time through his hair. He was as good as he would ever be, and he hoped not to bad looking either. |
Oh, God. What was she doing here? What was she doing here? This was a bad idea, a very bad one indeed. And yet, something had drawn Helena Crawley out of hiding in Canada and back to Europe - this time living in Ireland - but still, after being so close, word had passed that there was to be a ball at Hogwarts. She shouldn't be here. She reeeeally shouldn't be here. This was against everything she had set rules against almost a year before when she and Chris had broken up. And still, she couldn't help but hope that she would see him and perhaps be able to rectify things finally now that they had had time (too much, actually) to cool down. But mostly, Lena wanted to see Blake. She missed Blake more than anyone in the world, but it would break her 'Numero Uno' rule if she spoke to him or let him see her. However, this didn't stop her from yearning to make sure he was okay, whether he saw her or not. With her new, much lighter hair color, fixed dark brown eyes that she was forcing to stay that way, slightly larger nose and fuller lips (per the charming she had done herself), and the extra three inches from her red high heels (inconspicuously matching her dress) she milled about the entrance hall, bidding her time until she went further. |
Quote:
She was about to feint when he finally reached her. "Err..haiiiiiiiiii" She squeaked when he reached her. Why was he so calm and cool and she looked like dog's breakfast? 'Come here often'? "Umm.. no.. usually I go into the Great Hall.." Had she missed some hidden meaning to that? Eh.. there she was again with the people thing. "I'm confused," She confessed sounding more like she was scared than anything. And she was - I mean.. this was Oliver Greenwood. THE Oliver Greenwood and she was like.. Hammy. She didn't even live in the same stratosphere as the Slytherin Captain. Oh.. what was she doing here? She'd been dreaming - surely. It was all an elaborate get-up. Torin was involved. He'd wanted to set them up. Oliver didn't actually like her. That was preposterous. "I'm dreaming, aren't I?" Still, it was rather a nice hallucination. |
N'awwww.. *squishes Cameron for being so damn cute* ^_^ How come Cam looked like she wanted to be anywhere but here? Nerves? Well he knew that feeling but c'mon, this was Oliver: that annoying Snake!boy and the bane of her life. Heh. Her squeaked high pitched 'Haiiiiiiiiii' caused his smile to grow, a soft snicker escaping him and if her reply to his cheesy chat up line hadn't been so so so so endearing, he would have said something rather sarcastic, probably cutting and oh so hilariously funny in response. But he didn't – he just gazed at the pretty girl who looked sort of lost. Her confession to being confused was even cuter than the squeak she made before and Oliver felt suddenly protective towards her. He reached out for her hand, giving it a little squeeze. “Why are you confused?” He asked her gently. She had as much right to be here as anyone else. “You look lovely.” He said with a smile. So why was she here with him again? Oh yeah.. the insecurities. Dreaming? He crinkled his nose. “If you're dreaming then I must be too and, you know... it's actually quite a nice dream.” He nodded and stuck his arm out so she could link. “Shall we?” He asked. But where to? “You wanna drink or something to eat? ...perhaps a wee boogie on the dancefloor?” he smirked at the girl knowing fine well she would want to avoid the dancefloor at all costs. But that wasn't going to happen as long as Oliver had his way. :eyebrows: |

She'd never much liked the Irish. "Usually you say something," She mumbled, poking his cheek when he just kinda stared at her. "Your eyes is glazing over, Ollie." Perhaps if she kept talking she'd calm down. Then he took her hand and he was being all comforting and adorable and Cameron was a)starting to question if she really was insane cos this was one heck of a dream and b) wondering where HER Oliver had gone and why they'd replaced him with this one. Or maybe they were the same. 0____o Now that was a weird thought. Could Olziver possible be charming and sarcastic? Obviously. She looked down at his hand and then back at him with a blank expression. This really wasn't fair. She was dreaming. Yep. yep. yep. But this was almost cruel. "Because I didn't get.. what you said..'do I come here alot?" She kinda went to this school and all.. She attempted a watery smile. "Thanks.. you look.. dapper." Dapper? >.< Maybe she should've said 'Dashing' and Jane Austen's ghost could've exploded from the wall.. Sigh. Nerves were not her friends. Was that a compliment? She couldn't quite decipher that one. "We're both dreaming?" That made her feel slightly less scared about her mental health. "I was worried I was going insane.. even more than usual that is." Yes, the talking definetely helped. 'Eat?' Cam was pretty sure in her current state not even water would stay down. "Errnn..no.." DANCE? But the smirk on his face said it all. "I don't dance Oliver.. that much is clear." What with her 2 left feet and a handful of uncoordinated limbs she was a recipe for waltzing disaster. "I think I'm an OHS on the dance floor. You, on the otherhand," Mr Dancer!Boy. "Maybe we can find you someone that can actually dance and then you can have your wee boogie and I'll watch, love." Ahh.. and she was starting to feel a ermm. wee bit better. |
For Dee annnd Adry Why he was here Chris had nooo idea! This probably wasn't the best idea he had ever had. Lena was going to be there and Blake and with break up wasn't a very fun time! It was also less than a year ago already...Sighhhh. Maybe she wouldn't show... Chris walked into the entrance hall looking around. It kind of felt good to be back. He smiled slightly as he put his hands in the pocket of his fancy tux and started to walk in. Buuut of course it wouldn't be right if Chris Kaplan didn't bump into somebody righhhht!? He walked right into a woman standing there. "Umm sorry about that." He said quickly but looked at her. Did he know her??? Hmmmm. He might have from passing her in school or something buuut he didn't really remember... Annnnie!!!! Where are you!!! Drew waited for Annie as he looked at his watch every couple of seconds. Where could shhhhe beee! He was all dressed up nice and everything for her! Plus he was on time! He ran a hand through his golden locks as he played with his white tie. At least he would match her righhht..."Come on Annie." He mumbled as he started getting impatient. |
Quote:
No problem, Lena said in a very slightly different voice than normal as she gave Chris a brief smile. |
That voice didn't sound like he had ever talked to her. But for some reason Chris seem to think he knew he some how....He looked at her but it did no good. "I'm sorry you just look so familiar. Did we have the same class or something." He asked. Chris was normally so good with remembering people and faces..... |
This place looked exactly the same. Evangeline Green, now twenty years old, was standing in the same place from which she had taken one last look at the Great Hall. And it looked exactly the same. What did the article on the Daily Prophet said? Hogwarts students can definitely return home, or something like that. It seemed like they really could. It was amazing! The only thing not so amusing? The pictures hanging on the wall! Merlin, she thought she had looked quite well for a seventeen year old but it turned out .. well, she didnt. Unconsciously raising her hand to touch the golden necklace at her neck, Evangeline crinkled her nose. Maybe leaving Clifford to see the photographs wasn't such a good idea. |

So with a big smile on her face, she made her way over to Evie, ready to surprise her. She had really grown up since she had graduated, especially fashionwise, and her designer dress clearly showed that. Yet she still seemed to be rather small, which maybe showed her childish side. Hehe. "Evangeline Green." She giggled a little, tapping her friend on the shoulder. Eeep. Evvviie. |
The almost-twenty year old, Tammy Wood, ran a hand through her freshly cut hair, and sighed at it's length. Okay, so it was in curls, but it still wasn't longer than her shoulders in curls, and that wasn't fun. Silly chewing gum getting stuck in her hair. Gah, children were so annoying, and so she was not babysitting her assistant's daughter again. No way. Dateless. That was what she was. She wasn't one hundred percent sure if her own BOYFRIEND was coming, but that was probably her own fault for ignoring his calls recently. Whooops. Being a business woman was SO cool, and timetaking. So, stood there in her dress, and a pair of shoes from her latest collection [shameless plugging, ey? XD], Tammy wasn't much surprised to see she was still shorter than most of the people here, even in her four inch heels. Being four foot 10 without heels, really did have it's disadvantages. Maaaaan. Rolling her eyes, after realising she had been standing still for more then twenty seconds, and she looked like a dipstick, she headed forward, deciding to catch Torin the Recieving Line. Her Princess was NOT getting away from her. |

Hmmm why did she seem nervous!? Alllll Chris did was ask a question! Geeez some people are just weirrrrd. Ohhh great and she even remembers what house he was in but what about herrrr?!!! "Yes I was in Gryffindor." He said smiling with a small nod. "You were in Hufflepuff?" He asked honestly she could have been in Gryffindor with him and he wouldn't have known it!!! Pooor clueless Chris... |

It had been a long time, and he was surprised he even returned. And yet... Somehow he needed to come back. He did miss teaching here, and the Ministry returned some awfully dull work sometimes. That, and he was getting tired of being looked at funny for stunning kneazles and cats. It's not like he'd stunned the kittens! He wouldn't touch them either, but that wasn't the point. Ah well... He rather stood out as he entered, being the same old 6'7". His hair was tied back in an old-fashioned manner, draped long down his back, with the same old disobedient lock that kept falling into his face. Though, would anyone here remember that? Or remember him at all? None of the staff seemed at all familiar... At least, not that he seemed to remember. For all he knew his memory was shot. |

That's when she felt the pat on her shoulder. And someone calling her name. She knew that voice! "Vanessa Corbette!" She exclaimed, turning around and greeting her friend with a grin. It had been ages since she had last seen her friend, which was ridiculous considering they both worked in London. They both worked REALLY close. "I havent seen you in centuries!" She continued, leaning forward and wrapping her arms around the smaller girl. Leaning back once more, she took in the way Vannie looked and grinned wider. "And thank Merlin for you wearing a short dress too. I don't get why everybody's dressed like the Queen is here." Eyeroll. |
Leilani looked around to see if she could find Selena. Grr. She'd better be there sometime or another. Besides that, she felt completely overwhelmed by the mob of people. Especially since they were so much taller than her. Great, just great. Now not only were the hogwarts students taller than her, but so was everyone else! Ugh. Hopefully Jimbo or Selena would show up soon. That would deffinitely make her feel better. Smoothing out her dress nervously, Leilani decided to scoot out of the way and closer to a wall. |

Vannie grinned at her friend. Oh how she had missed Evie. she was surprised that they didn't see each other often because they both worked near each other. Maybe she needed to make more of an effort to see anyone but Lyra. "I knoww!" The brunette pouted, hugging Evangline tight. She had missed hugs with one of her bestest friends in the whole entire world. Hehe. She loved Evangeline Green ever so much. She smiled as she saw what Evangline was wearing. "You look so cuttee!" But then Evangeline always looked cute, thats why she was friends with her hehe. "I don't know....I like long dresses." She mused with a smile, but shrugged anyway. "But I wouldn't suit long dresses...miss midget aren't I?" |
Quote:
Well, she'd already completely lied to Chris thus far, so Lena'd might as well keep it up until she was caught in the act. Marlee, she responded with a small smile and slight nod. It's nice to meet you.... erm.... Good catch. If she'd known his name her cover would have been WAY blown. Her eyes flashed gray for half a second as she lost it, thinking about how she was lying to Chris even more. |
Haha...for Dee and Jake. *evil grin* Quote:
And there he was, cute...HANDSOME. Annie tiptoed (beause her heels were killing her) and when he reached Drew's location, she tapped his shoulder and smiled. "You look great tonight, Sparks..." She told him. Em was there to see old friends. He was going to have fun and spend a great night at the place he was going to love til the end of his days. Gladly, he was out of school by then, and ready to continue his studies back in London. And just when he took his look around, there they were, a couple of friends from his good ol' Hogwarts days: Lena and Chris. He wondered if they were still together, what had happened to both, etc. "Lena, Chris..." He mouthed, waving at them. |

Trixie walked into the Entrance Hall literally buzzing with excitement!! She looked around, the place looked magnificent, and smiled softly to herself. Now just to wait for her date. Eep. She couldn't wait to get inside and show off her dancing skills. She looked down to check her floor length white ballgown was all in order before correcting a crease and looking back up again. |
Quote:
"Jasmina Bennett," he said, half sternly but half jokingly. "Don't you try to fool me again claiming that you aren't admired and wanted by most of the boys, if not all." Chuckling, he offered his arms to her. She was totally admired by him, right now. Well, there was always that admiration somewhere that she was beautiful, but today Evan was able to really see her beauty. How come no one liked her? Hogwarts boys were either stupid, or there must definately be someone to like her, but maybe too shy to open up. She was definately stunning there. He felt lucky to have her as a date, not only because of her beauty, but also because he was able to compliment her that freely without any blushing for they were friends and going to have fun tonight. "Shall we get inside?" |

Emmmmmm!!!! He came! Yesss! This meant they were going to be able to talk finally! Gosh he had missed Emiliano. But the he mouthed Lena?! Where??? Chris looked all around but he saw people but not Lena. "Wait just a minute. You!" He said pointing to 'Marlee' his brow wrinkled in confustion. Quote:

Coming up from behind her, he put his hands in his pockets and looked down to the Converse. "Hey there beautiful, you've got a date waiting for you?" he said casually and smirked, waiting for Trixie to turn around and see him. |

Tia entered the entrance hall it was weird for her back at Hogwarts after so many years of being away she checked her apperance and gulped she hoped that there were people who she knew from her time at school to be here and she hated coming to big events alone |

Blushing he stood up straight and looked down at Trixie. "I'll be ready when you say how dashing I look and give me a little kiss." Yes, that seemed fair enough. |
SPOILER!!: YOU TWO Okay. Confussion was definitely speaking between Christopher and Helena. Em saw the wrinkled face his friend did, so typical of him. Haha. As he approached, with punch glass in his hand, he smiled to them, though still feeling weird about it. "Haii..." He greeted, just when he heard Lena said he was about to do an incognito run? "...Helena, you look great tonight..." Just a compliment. Nothing else for this lady...haha. Sure, make up did a miracle on her, so did the heels, because Annie could easly kiss Drew back in his cheek, without having to tiptoe. "Thanks..." She answered, almost blushing. "Ready to party, Sparks?" The girl asked flashing a wide smile to her boyfriend. Because she was more than ready. |
She was back; really back. Pauline hadn't stepped inside these halls in almost eight years and now she was back. Would any of the professors she had still be here or had they all changed? Like De Luca or was there still a restraining order. After all it was an accident and lived could have been lost. As she stepped into the Entrance Hall she also wondered if any of her friends were going to be here. She had last track with many of them and she figured some of them may not even show up. Oh well. She was here and that's all that matters. |

"Hiii Lena." Chris said no trace of a smile on his face. Come on his ex-girlfriend just lied to him and he feels really really stupid at the moment. Most of all that Emiliano figured out how it was before he did..."How was Canada?" He asked nicely. Thank you Emiliano! "Heyyyy Em! How have you been?" He asked giving him a warm smile as he reached out to give him a hand shake because Emiliano was nice and didn't lie to himmmm! Quote:

SPOILER!!: cough cough Both greetings seemed as if Em had interruped a weird talk. Of course, those two had something to talk about. And Em was the third in question that needed to get away from there. Turning to Chris, he chuckled. "You won't believe it, I'm back in London and ready to continue my University here..." That was scary, because it was mostly social working. "How about you, bud?" Ahem, that's Em talking. And Em turned to see Helena again, noticing that her nose was a bit...twisted. He didn't know if he should tell her, unless a girl was there to do so, so he decided to say nothing about it, until she maybe noticed it or someone else said something. Annie moaned. "You don't know how much not tiptoeing hurts." She said almost walking on one foot as she tried to reach out for her right one. "I should have continued practicing my heel walking with Lori..." The girl in pain told her boyfriend. She couldn't resist it anymore. She was about to turn her shoes into heeless ones, or use her ballerina ones. But she had to resist at least one piece. |
Dress and such is found on post 74 of the Who are you... sticky thread. ^_^ Iris walked up from the Slytherin Common Room on her own, brushing down her dress nervously as she looked around the entrance hall. Everyone in the Decorations Committee did an awesome job. She was really proud of how the outdoor area looked. She waited for someone. Anyone. She didn't care who, just one of her friends. Aaron, Jimbo, Fallon, Wesley. It didn't matter. Iris just wasn't going into the Great Hall on her own. |
Quote:
Still clumsy, she was. And Vannie didn't wear long dresses because of her height? Hmm, Evangeline analysed her outfit before nodding in agreement. "I suppose short dresses do make you seem taller. But you really aren't that small anymore." She wasn't!! |
Bam! Denver in the house. Marco had arrived. He didn't need his cousin as an escort. He knew his way around Hogwarts. Even if it had been 6 years. He was ready to make the ladies swoon. He was a Professional Quidditch player after all. He had his quill ready for autographs. |

Chris listened as Lena said how Canada was gorgeous and blah blah blah! "That's very cool that you enjoyed it there. Are you still there or what?" He asked curiously. But to her next comment he just nodded. Trust her after that!!! "It was Blake?" He asked just as quietly though he knew that answer already. "Back in London huh? Sounds nice I wish I was back." Chris said with a chuckle. "Actually I'm now in California. We just got off of a small tour as an opening act but it was fun. Though I don't think I'm going to like living on a bus." He joked. Chris watched as Lena turned back to normal but her nose was slightly twisted. He laughed slightly. "Lena...your nose is kind of messed up." He told her with a small smile. Quote:

Quote:
Helena relaxed a bit at Chris's laugh and quickly pulled out a mirror to re-fix it, hoping the laugh was because bad feelings were over and not because she looked like an idiot.... even if she did. When her nose was normal-looking once more, she put away the small mirror and said. Stupid thing hasn't been right since I broke it a few weeks ago, but she returned Chris's small smile. |
Quote:
"Mhmm.....and I liked this one better." Because it was totally Vannie. And Lyra had approved of it, so she had worn out. "I'm not small anymore?" Vannie giggled, before shaking her head. Was Evie kidding? "I'm 5 foot 2 babe." She commented with a smile. "The heels probably make the difference up." Seeing as they were like 4 inches high. |
SPOILER!!: YOU and YOU "Yeah, so far London treats the new-comers really good, so I'm sure you'll like coming back..." Emiliano answered, shortly. He knew he was in the middle of a conversation. "Guys, I should just leave for a while, I have to find my cousin, Anna..." OH oh, beware Robles. And with a small wave, Em left the ex-couple with their talk. Anna looked at Drew. "Well, they looked good with the dress and..." She had no more reasons. Her boyfriend was right. She didn't have to wear those things. "I'll just change them to my ballerinas...I think I'll be smiling like the Chirese Cat after that..." Annie said, looking around for a seat. |
Quote:
Quote:
"You broke it?" He asked raising an eyebrow. "And how did you do that Crawley?" He asked. She broke her nose realllly!? Hehe! Though Chris liked it much better when Lena looked like herself even if she did have blonde hair noooow. Awww Em was leaving. "Alright I'll see you later mate." He said. Quote:
|
Quote:
"It's beautiful! I totally approve." The pale girl grinned with a firm nod before shrugging her shoulders. "That's not really short! I dont think so! If you went to Japan, you'd be a GIANT!" Yup, so she wasn't short. Looking around, Evangeline wondered where her Quidditch player of a boyfriend was. "He is here...somewhere. I think he saw one of his teammates and went to discuss tactics for the next match or something." She said with a chuckle and a dismissive hand wave. |
Quote:
"Lyra made me buy it" Well hardly made because she was quite willing to buy it really, because it was a beautiful dress, but still Lyra had totally pushed her to buy it. "But seeing as I like in England." She giggled with a big grin. She was tiny, she knew she was, but she didn't care. She made tiny beautiful, especially on those photoshoots hehe. "I always knew Cliffie would go into quidditch." Because he was cool like hat. hehe. |
bwahaha...Em meeting Drew...this will be epic to this guy of mine Quote:
Annie was having a marvelous time, she was this close to take out her wand as being a great idea from her boyfriend. "Good one...I just can't think wearing these things..." She told him flashing a smile to him. But then, that voice was heard. OH NO. PLEASE NO. She turned around. "Saenz...thanks..." She tried to smile. But Annie was not happy. Emililano mentioning her PINK ugly dress was almost making her throw up. "You look...great..I guess..." She rolled her eyes then looked back at her boyfriend. "Drew, he's Emiliano, my cousin...Em, he's Andrew, my boyfriend..." Smile, smile. Where's your date, EM? Eh eh? |
Fallon's is somewhere on the first page Quote:
Finally, she reached Iris and smiled at her. "You look gorgeous Iris." She tried to give her friend a hug, but her dress was kind of in the way. "I should've gotten a less poofy dress." She giggled at her own comment. |
Quote:
If Vanessa wanted so much to go shopping with Evangeline, well - Evangeline might just do that. It isnt like she didnt like shopping and if you had that to one of your good friends - well, it sounded like a pretty good afternoon. "Next time I get a day off, I'll owl you then." She said with a wink and a small bounce ... which was probably best not repeat. Not on those shoes. But ... Grace? "Who is Grace, if you dont mind me asking?" Vans' friend? Why would she need to buy stuff for her friend? Hmm. Her smile grew wider once more when Vannie informed her that Lyra had made her buy it. "Good thing she did. You look amazing." She truly did. Short or tall, she looked amazing. Hehe. "Clifford and quidditch are a match made in Heaven. You should go watch him play someday!" |
