Destiny eyed up all the students that accepted a cupcake from the Professor. They ALL must have a death wish. She watched and waited for the students to start dropping like flies, and when nothing happened, she looked at the Professor..who was eating a cupcake as well! Heh.

As the half hour passed, the rat tails in her cauldron were as hairy as the Professor. They sorta had the same color as well. Listening to the directions, Destiny gathered the last bit of ingredients. Saw Palmetto and Zinc..whatever THEY were. One drop Palmetto, a lil bit of Zinc. One drop Palmetto, a lil bit of Zinc.

That part was easy too!

And now..the potion was complete!

Mwahaha!

Destiny can have her hair back! And Marie could have her hair back too, and thank Merlin for that, because her egg shaped head was creepy Destiny out. She cleared the ingredients away from herself and dipped a spoon into her potion. It looked disgusting, she thought as she help the spoon up to her mouth. Hopefully the taste don't linger!

1, 2, 3!

Shoving the spoon in her mouth, Destiny hurried up and swallowed the potion. "Ack, ack, ack!" she coughed a bit and shoved a few more spoonfuls into her mouth. Reaching up, she touched the end of her hair and it felt like the right length..heh, she didn't care much. At least she wasn't bald anymore!

Glancing over at Evelyn, Destiny started to laugh. "Evelyn! Your hair..it's BLONDE!!"

Yeah..Destiny had no idea her own hair was red..

Pffft.

Ellie put the last ingredients in as instructed.

Finally!

She was so relieved that for the first time this class period, she didn't clean her spoon. Great timing, right? She took many many spoonfuls until her hair was back to it's natural length.. Maybe a bit longer...

She ran her fingers threw it and shook her head. And that's when she saw. Out of the corner of her eye. Her hair was blue!! Yeah, she was all for house pride and everything... But her gorgious ginger locks were the complete wrong color! She sighed. Merlin she haattteeeddd this class. No wonder her family barely ever used potions...

Right. That much, was pretty clear. Not to inhale. Gold already had her dragonhide gloves on - that was, after all, something one should wear before one started brewing, no matter what the potion one was dealing with - and, picking up a dropper, she did as they had been directed to. One, two - drop, drop, drop.

Done.


Hands resting on her workstation, Gold watched Professor Lafay execute the next step. When the professor had finally given them the go to do the same, Gold nodded a little in reply to the Potions Mistress's question; and, picking up a Mandrake leaf, placed it in the mortar.

Then she introduced the Gotu Kola to her caudron, and charmed her stirrer. Nine clockwise stirs, one counter-clockwise, right?

While the enchanted stirrer stirred away, Gold grabbed a pestle, and began to crush the Mandrake leaf. She hurried, of course, and breathed an inward sigh of relief when she realized she had been able to carry out the job, just in the nick of time. The moment the stirrer started to stir counter-clockwise, she poured in the crushed Mandrake.

Phew!

Then she repeated the process all over again. By the third time she had done it, it was starting to get on her nerves. But it had also gotten easier, given that she didn't have to worry about her timing so much. She was getting it right. Neverthless, the fifth and final time was a huge relief, because that meant she didn't have to do the whole step another time.

Yeah, this wasn't step four. This was step four, five, six, seven and eight! No, seriously. Tiiiime-consuuumingg!

Easier?

Thank Merlin for that!

Having rested her arms for a leeetle while, Gold did yet again, as directed. Honey, fluxweed leaves, peppermint - she measured each out, as per the instructions they had been given much earlier on in the lesson, and then proceeded to mix them together.

Of course, she couldn't forget the Re'em blood. Exactly one drop, since she wanted her awesome hair back. REALLY wanted her awesome hair back. Soo. One drop, and that was it.

Ewww.

That sounded GROSS.

But what a potion-maker has got to do, a potion-maker has [sometimes unfortunately] got to do. Which was exactly why Gold didn't say anything out loud, only followed the instructions, down to a tittle.

Having crumpled the blossoms with her fingers, she added the rat tails VERY quickly. She didn't want to see any bad!hair, please.

PLEASE.

Jacob adding saw palmetto then zinc. Saw palmetto... Zinc... Saw Palmetto... Zinc. And there was just enough zinc to match Saw palmetto extract.

Time to dig in. Jacob took the spoon and dipped it into the potion. He gulped it down and took another. A third, Fourth, Fifth, sixth. When Jacob got to his seventh, and final spoon. The hair was now dow alittle below his eyes, the way he liked it, and there was a realization. His hair wasn't normal. It was Gray... Old man Gray. Oh that was odd. Ehh... better than no hair. Which come to think about it wasn't that bad either.

Marie put on her gloves and goggles as she prepared to mix in the lavender. Once that was added and mixed in she updated her journal while waiting for the professor to tell them the next step.

After watching the professor demonstrate the next step Marie did the same. She added the Gotu Kola to the cauldron then put the Mandrake leaf in the mortar. She then charmed the spoon to stir on its own. She now crushed the leaf as the spoon stirred itself then poured the crussed leaf to the cauldron. She repeated this step four more times until all the leaves had been added. She then updated her journal.

Now she mixed in the Honey, the Fluxweed leaves, whole, the sprig of peppermint and one drop of Re'em blood. Then she updated her jpurnal once more. She looked at all the steps that had been completed so far and wondered just how many more there were. Looking at the list of ingredients she seen there were only four more to add so hopefully that meant they were almost done. She really wanted her hair to grow back.... SOON.

Next she crumpled the Knotgras blossoms with her fingers over the potion, then added the rat tails quickly. She didn't want the hair to grow on the tails... no, she wanted it to grow on her head.

Oh, now they had to wait a half hour for it to simmer. She looked at the cupcakes but decided she did not want to eat any of them. Insted she took that time to once again update her journal and make sure nothing was missing.

Hearing what the final steps were Marie added them to her journal befroe she completed them. She added a drop of Saw Palmetto then a little Zinc. She continued to do this until both ingredients had been completely added.

It was done... and now she had to drink it? But there were RAT tails in it. Marie did not want to drink something that had rat tails in it. She did howeer want her hair to grow back. Looking at the potion then feeling her head she decided she HAD to drink that potion. And she was going to have to drink a LOT of that potion to get her long blond hair back.

She hesitantly picked up her spoon and dippied into her potion. She then slowly drank what was on the spoon and waited. She felt the top of her head and felt... HAIR! Yes, her hair was growing back. She then dipped the spoon back in the cauldron and quickly drank what was on it. She repeated this step several times since she had to get her hair to grow back down to her waist. She held her breath each time she swallowed a spoonful trying not to taste it. She was so busy drinking the potion that she didnt' even notice her hair wasn't its normal beautiful blonde. No, it was dark brown, almost black.

Putting her hand behind her back and feeling her hair she put the spoon down when she was happy with the length. It was at this time that she noticed the color.

"NOOOO!" she shouted. "This isn't right, my hair is blonde, not... this color," she said as she pointed to the hair that was hanging down in front of her. "How long will my hair stay like this?" she aked in a now paniced voice. She really hoped this was not permanent. She could NOT spend the rest of her life with hair this color. No, that would be unacceptable. Malfoy's do NOT have dark hair.

Oh.

Half an hour of wait.

Gold checked the fire underneath her cauldron, looked up - and received a shock. Not a surprise, a shock. Cupcakes? Surely, Professor Lafay had not gone to the length of making CUPCAKES for them?

Turned out, no. Gold was glad of that, too. Because, had it turned out that Professor Lafay had made those, it would very well have given her a heart-attack. Or maybe the cupcakes would have turned out to be poisoned, Professor Lafay's revenge on them and everything.

Wait. Miss Flores. That was Evelyn. COULD she trust cupcakes, Evelyn Flores had made? Destiny, she could trust without a hitch. Marie, she was actually close to. But Evelyn? Two problems, there - number one, she didn't know the girl very well; and, number two, what she did know of Evelyn, wasn't very encouraging. Gold wondered which of the cupcakes were Evelyn's, and which the other girl's. Oh, well. She could pass for now.

Sooo she contended herself with watching her potion simmer. Because one can never keep too much of an eye, on one's cauldron.

Yep.

Okaayyy. Thank GOD this was the last step. Gold divided the zinc, checking it against the measure of the Saw Palmetto, so that she did not run out of the former, before she ran out of the latter.

She was actually glad to have to do such careful quantitative work, after half an hour of having had practically nothing to do. Except eye her cauldron, occasionally stretch or stand up straighter, or glance at someone with a cupcake, every now and then.

One drop of Saw Palmetto, one bit of zinc. One drop of Saw Palmetto, one bit of zinc. One drop of Saw Palmetto, one bit of zinc. By the time she ran out of the former, Gold actually still had some of the latter, left. But that was nothing to worry about, right?

NOW TO DRINK!

Woot, woot, woot! This, THIS was the best part. Gold's awesome hair was going to come back. But first, to wash the equipment, something she always did because it was a lesson Professor Kazimeriz had completely engraved in her mind - to clean your equipment, right after use. Gold did so, then picked up a spoon and swalloweddd some of the potion.

It wasn't going to set her head on fire, was it?

EEP.

It didn't, though. Or at least it hadn't, yet. Gold slowwwly drank another spoonful of potion, then another, and then reached up to feel if she had any hair. She did. RAWR. Hopefully, it was her own hair, and - oh, wait! Shucks. Now she had a question that was bothering her. Swallowing two more spoonfuls of her potion, Gold raised a hand.

"Professor? The hair we get back, will it be our natural hair-colour? Or if someone has, say, charmed their hair blue, will they get the magical dye back?" She lowered her hand, wondering if she would have to work on her bangs, again. Though, in case her blue bangs didn't return, she was going to go for light green, this time. Bit of change.

Bit of change is GOOD.

Wait, wasn't that Marie's voice? Half-turning round to look in the Slytherin's directions, Gold was stunned to see that Marie's hair was not it usual colour. It was, instead, a dark shade, an almost brown one. What in the name of Merlin?! Was THIS Professor Lafay's revenge?

WAIT!

What about her hair? Was it going to be some sticky shade of brown, too? NUUU! Gold loved her hair! She didn't want any other shade! The sixth year cast a nervous glance at her potion.

Alexandrie fingered her hair with her hand still up glancing around the room, everyone seemed to have a different hair color even that Estoner girl, who she found wasn't that bad anymore. Alex liked her new hair color more then her plain old blonde hair color, her black hair color was full bodied and pratically glittered along with the green streak in her hair. Alex voiced another thing outloud, "Professor? Can I keep my hair this shade of black?" She was all for House Spirit but she thought another girl had green streaks in her hair as well. "How do you add Silver streaks in your hair?" She added on if she was getting rid of the green she was so adding silver.

Willow put on her gloves and goggles and put the drops of lavender into the cauldron and this time did not breath in the smell. She added in the Gotu Kola and said "Locomotor stirrer" and angled her wand clockwise. Just before she did this she placed one of the Mandrake leaves in the mortar and crushed it with the pestle in the same motion and at the same time of the 9 stirs, pouring the herb in with the 10th counter stir while saying "Locomotr stirrer" and angled her wand counterclockwise for the last stir. She repeated this 5 more times.

"Whew!" said Willow wiping her forehead with the back of her hand after that step. She then mixed in the Honey, the Fluxweed leaves, whole, the peppermint and the drop of Re'em blood. She crumpled the blossoms with her fingers over the cauldron and quickly added the rat tails. Willow was excited for the cupcakes while they waited a half hour for the potion to simmer. "Professor I have some cupcakes of my own that I have made. May I share with the class if they want any?"

She smirked. "There is no need to panic... the color will wash out when you shower... or I can fix you if you'd rather... This is what happens when you do not clean your utensils BEFORE you use them." She said raising an eyebrow.

"No. It'll wash out." She said. "Ask the transfiguration or charms professor to charm the color permanent."

"Sure..." she said to the kid.

"Homework: Tell me what was on your spoon that turned your hair color that color. If you were smart and cleaned your spoon, pick a color and tell me what ingredient you could add to your potion to turn your hair that color. This is worth 10 points and is due exactly a week from now." She sighed. "Class dismissed."

Alex nodded picking up after herself making sure she had all the notes before leaving. "Oh, and thank you Professor." Alex added before leaving the room.

Gold frowned. Great. Professor Lafay had not answered her question. Well, she could wait and see. Dying magic wasn't a big hassle, after all. Especially not when one had had half as much practice at it, as Gold did. She swallowed more of her own potion, saw her hair reach its real length, anddd --- swallowed some more! But now she had another question and, once more, could not help herself from raising her hand.

"Professor? If I drink enough of this potion, I can get my hair to grow longer than it was before, can't I? Would this be considered a beauty potion, because of that?"

AND that homework sounded perfectly lovely! Research plus creativity. Gold couldn't wait to get started on it.

Tori was ready to get back her hair. As instructed after the half hour , she slowly added the remaining two ingredients alternating them... a drop of Saw Palmetto a little bit of Zinc and she made sure they were equal as she went.
After adding it, she took up her spoon and began to slowly drink the potion. Reaching up with her free hand, she could feel hair. "My hair!" she exclaimed. She drank until her hair was back to it's short bob."My hair."she said softly, stroking it.

"Yes, it'll grow longer than it was." She said clearing off her potion. "And it'll be your natural hair color... you will have to re-charm it whatever color it was before." She said not looking up at the girl.

Oh, Professor Lafay had paid her some attention, after all. "Thank you, Professor," Gold said cheerfully, as she cleared her workstation. She screwed back lids, returned untouched or untainted ingredients back to the storage cabinet, and then proceeded to clean her now-empty cauldron. Once done, she she picked up her bag, and would have left. Except, she remembered staying back to help clean other people's workstations - most people didn't bother to clean them properly, just picked up their own belongings and maybe bottled a few things, before leaving - for Professor Kazimeriz. Which made Gold's steps falter, somewhat.

"Professor?" She asked quietly. "Would it be okay if I stayed back, to clean up the workstations?"

She wasn't even sure if Professor Lafay would let her. But Gold had a firm belief that this was certainly worth a try.

Sidney continues with her potion. She mixes in the honey, then adds the fluxweed leaves, peppermint sprig, and one drop of Re'em Blood. Sideny then adds the rat tails quickly followed by alternating the zinx and Saw Palmetto until it's all in the potion. She looks at the directions again. Sidney wonders why you don't stir it or something before you consume it. Then Professor Lefay offers them cupcakes. Ouch cupcakes! Sidney has had her full of cupcakes. She hopes she never sees another cupcake again. Sidney passes on the cupcakes and instead drink her potion. One spoonful followed by another spoonful and then another until her hair is back to its normal length. She takes off her bandana and runs her fingers through her hair. It's nice to have her hair back. Everything's fine until she cleans up her work station and looks in the mirror over the sink. "What in Merlin's Beard!!! My hair is yellow, not blond, but yellow like the Hufflepuff house colors. Then Sidney reads the homework assignment. Professor Lefay has played another trick on them. Sidney is relieved when Lefay says it will wash out. She writes down her homework assignment and gets ready to leave class. "Interesting class Professor. I enjoyed it. Sidney puts her yellow bandana back on. She'd rather wear it than explain her yellow hair.

Clean your utensils...

She just KNEW there was something she missed. Pfft. Well, at least the color was going to wash out. Or else she'd end up looking like Marie. Bahahaha! Of course she wouldn't look like Marie. Impossible.

Standing up, she cleaned up her station, finally able to remember a few of those cleaning charms that would be good for this. She had to keep reminding herself that the color wasn't permanent, however, it didn't keep the frown off her face. How could she mess up and not clean her spoon? That should've been second nature for her to do that!

Writing down the homework, before putting it away, she wrote down in capitals in her notebook to clean her utensils before...consuming anything. After though, Evelyn packed up her bag before taking out a hair tie and putting her hair up into a messy bun.


Meh. Blond hair. Must...take...shower! And give herself a hair cut. She wanted her side bangs back. "Bye Professor. Great lesson." she said quietly, slinging her bag over her shoulder and grabbing her things before starting to the door. She needed to get to the showers before any of the other girls did. She called it first!

Hermione was exhausted. This potion was certainly more complicated than the last potion they had made. She cleaned up and put away her materials and turned off the burner. She packed up her books and headed for the door, I could certainly go for a nap she thought. "Have a good afternoon professor" as she exited the classroom.

Dianna was finally done with the potion. Ehh.. They had to drink it. She took a spoonful and drank and repeated until her hair was normal length. Upon hearing the terrible news that their hair was not going to be the same color she grabbed her hair and saw that it was no longer dark brown but instead blonde.
"Oh well, time to take a shower." hopefully it will return to normal as the Professor had said. She fixed her materials and tidied her workplace.
"Um, bye professor." she quickly said as she turned and headed for the door.

Ellie turned on her heel.

And left.

Noir dropped the Lavender carefully and hold her breath..she didn't want to smell lavender for 2 days.."that's disgusting..!!" she thought.

Noir watched Professor Lafay carefully..she didn't want to made a mistake..then she placed one of the Mandrake leaves in the mortar, she crushed with the pestle, using the same motion in the time of the nine stiring and then she added the Gotu Kola and set the stirrer to magically stir 9 times clockwise and one counter..She then poured the herb in with the 10th counter stir..She repeated this step five times till her five mandrake leaves gone..

After Professor Lawson gave the class another instruction, Noir carefully mixed the honey, the Fluxweed leaves and the peppermint..Then she added the Re'em blood..

Noir nodded and do like the Professor said..she crumpled the blossoms with her fingers over the potions and added the rat tail..and she waited to let it simmer for a half hour..

"Yes..finally I'll have my hair back" she thought..She added the last two ingredients for the potion a drop of Saw Palmetto a little bit of Zinc..She hoped that she had the right amount..Then she took a spoon full of the potion and drink it..Slowly she can feel that her hair grown back to the original length..She saw her hair grown back "Oh my God..why my hair is Strawberry blonde??What happened to my dark brown hair??" she said and tried to calm her self.."Oh..what the hell..the most important thing is my hair is back..maybe it'll be back to original color later.." she said..

And then Noir wrote down her homework and cleaned up her workplace.."Thank you for the lesson Professor Lafay..have a good day" she smiled

Class was over? Selena packed her bag after writing down the homework and stood. It felt nice to have hair again, but she needed to wash it. As soon as possible. It felt weird... "It was a great lesson, Professor, thank you," Selena said with a smile. She was smiling at a teacher who had lit kids up on fire. "Have a lovely day," she added before leaving the room.

Diana breathed in relief at last. She loved Potions but yet, she could' nt help grinning in relief at the end of the lesson. She took down the homework. Smiling, she said," Nice lesson professor.Good day!" and left the room.

After following every single step, and after taking his OWN potion (with a rather worried look on his face) Treyen started to feel his hair growing BACK!

It WAS back!

He'd done it! Well, with the help of Professor Lafay and her instructions, but it was his OWN potion. Practically.

He didn't even notice if his hair was any different until he noticed the color of the others in the class. And his eyes widened, until he saw his reflection and....blinked. Soooo...his golden brown hair was not precisely there...it was only a bit more golden...like Gilderoy's! Like the sun! Not too big of a change, compared to the others.

Oh, well, he'll have his normal color soon. And if not, he didn't mind being a bit more golden.

Treyen wrote down the homework, "Thanks for the lesson, Professor!" he said, while gathering his things....and he left. Lockhart out.

Carter added a drop of Saw Palmetto a little bit of Zinc. He then repeated this until he was out of both ingredients. Looking down at his gross potion he took the wooden spoon in his hand. It looked like it had some extra mucus on it. And he was not going to drink more of that stuff than necessary. Wiping off his spoon he dipped it in and drank. He kept drinking spoonfuls until his hair grew back. Happily he looked around to see how everyone else faired.

Why were there people with different colors of hair than what they were supposed to be? Then the Professor explained that the spoon was supposed to be cleaned off. He lucked out. He then updated his notebook, wrote down the assignment and began cleaning up his workstation.

Kylie mixed the last few ingredients and upon finishing her potion nervously poured herself a cup.

Oh gosh, this won't end well... was all Kylie could think. But, she took a deep breath and sipped a bit down. It didn't taste all that... great... but, a moment after she took it she felt this strange tingling feeling go across her scalp. She reached up and her hair was coming back, quickly too. When it finally stopped growing it was a bit longer than it had been... but that was fine. No big deal. And, she couldn't complain. Evelyn's hair was blonde, and hers had grown back a perfectly normal shade. Phew.

Kylie stood up, a little light-headed, and cleaned up her area. She knelt down and scribbled the homework down before going off, hopefully to find her friends and have a quick bite to eat. She was starving.
