The Student Garden Your wonderful Professor Bunbury has been extremely careful and tedious in preserving this garden started by Professor Caraccio. She hasn't moved a single plant around nor made any other changes, with the exception of the puffapods and flutterbies the class planted in Term 21 in the southwestern corner of the garden. Oh, and don't overlook that bright, shiny pink shed in that contains tools, buckets and watering cans for the students to use. A warm pond with giant Victoria amazonica water lilies borders the western edge of the garden and newly painted pink benches have been renovated so hardworking students may take a rest after pulling weeds by the pond. Lining the student gardens are the cherry trees which were grafted in Term 15 and the Northern Planters are occupied by the student hybrids created at the end of Term 16. North-Eastern Planter

What kind of days did Hogwarts have in store for Allison? As of that first day it was chaos. She really couldn't believe things could get crazier than they did the night of the feast, but things just seemed to get more and more complicated. True she had met several new people, but in that load of new people, some of them were out to get Allison. (Or so she saw it that way) Allison needed peace and quiet. She had thought the library would provide that. But even after completing her homework for Astronomy she could still hear the echoes of people talking and remember all the interruptions. So there she was walking into the student garden with nothing but her mother's butterfly accompanying her. She was set to meet Arya there, and that would suit her just fine, after all, Allison had loads of ranting to do. |
Arya walked slowly through the garden admiring all the magical plants. She had takin her shoes off and had them in her hand to feel the ground beneth her. She wished she had brung Perseus with her, but she didn't have the heart to wake the sleeping kitten. Walking through a row of flowers she saw Allison. Walking over to her she wraped her arm around Allison's. "Hey Allie, whatcha thinkin 'bout?" |
Away. He had to get away. That's what he had decided after the whole...episode at the Great Hall. He just needed some peace and quiet. Unfortunately while he had been looking for the library, he had ended up in the Student Garden. Plopping down on the grass, Sabel folded his arms under his head after loosening his tie, and looked up at the stars, starting to count them for no particular reason. He knew he would lose track and have to start again, but at least it kept his mind off of things. |
"What I'm thinking about?" that was the worst question Arya could have asked. At least if she expected a simple answer. "Lots of things! Millions of things! Did you know muggle preach global warming, yet they do nothing about it? We at least use brooms. But them? Uh-uh. I told my best friend back home to use a bike instead of making her mum drive her to school. She thought I was a nut-job. Well I'll tell you what! If I could, if I was Minister of Magic, I'd get rid of it all! And why do we have to hide from the muggle society?!" Yes. Allison was rambling and trying to avoid getting to the point. "I was doing our Astronomy homework, and I found out that there are rumors that we have never actually gone to the moon. I felt so dumb! How could I answer the questions Professor McFarlane asked if I didn't have good information? It's all so dumb!" Stomping towards the cherry trees Allison turned and faced Arya, "I didn't want to come to a school of crazies!" And wa-lah, her real concern was finally shown. |
Of all the thing she thought Allison would talk about, Global Warming was not one of them. She listened quietly as Allison rambled on from one odd topic to another until she reached one that she hoped wouldn't stress Allison out more than she already was. "I know what you mean, it tooks me hours to finish my Astronomy homework. There was so much about the stars I didn't know..."Her speech drifted off as she gazed up at the stars. "The school's not full of crazies Allie its just a few."She was still looking at the stars, thinking about eventful the day had been. "That girl that came to our table was definatly wierd, but I think we out number them. Wasn't flying fun?"Arya looked down just in time to see Sabel gazing up at the stars as well. She headed in his direction with Allison in tow. "Hey Sabel, fancy seeing you here."She gave him a warm smile. |
One hundred fiftyone...one hundred fiftytwo...one hundred fiftythree...one hundred fifty four...one hundred Arya? His eyes snapped over and his head up at the sound of his name. He blinked twice. Arya and Allison. Suddenly, he felt very small. Very very small. Like the stars were. His eyes flicked to Allison, remembering the note that seemed to burn a hole in his pocket at the moment. "Uh...hey guys...Arya...Allison..." Glup. |
Aw boo. Allison didn't want any reminder of the event at the table, and there was Mister Sabel. Laying as if not a care in the world. The idea of pouncing on him occurred to Allison, but quickly she decided against it. How very unlady like tsk tsk. Rolling her eyes she followed Arya and stared at Sabel with boredom. It was too bad that such a beautiful night could not be appreciated by a childish eleven year old in such a foul mood. Pointing her index finger at Sabel she accused him in a mono-tone voice, "You left us to be eaten by a tiger!" Even though her voice sounded bored, one could hear the emotion behind it. |
Sabel blinked at the finger. And then at the accussation. Slowly and very carefuly so as not to further disturb the disgruntled girl, he sat up. "Uhm...if I recall Allison, that tiger wasn't hunting for you." He waved his arms a little, not really caring to hide his frustration at the day's events. He was tired, the day had been a mess and now this. "You weren't about to get auctioned off like some puppy! What would you have had me do? Sit there and take it?! You were getting upset from me just being there." He didn't understand. Just what was going on? |
Arya ploped herself beside Sabel and layed down in a soft patch of grass on her stomach. Looking from Allison to Sabel she didn't know what to say. She understood where both of them were coming from, but didn't want to start an argument so late. She was tired and the last thing she needed was a fight. "Guys can we please talk about something else? I don't wanna talk about this. Flying class was fun wasn't it?" |
ASDFGHJKL! x a billion and one! Didn't he get it she was defending him. She was about to become a tiger herself! Okay, maybe not. She was about to have Robin peck the girl! Okay she wasn't going to either. "Arya...Sabel just screamed at me," Allison looked at Arya to solve the problem. With big puppy eyes she sent Arya a plead: auction Sabel before I want to adopt him as my brother. Too many emotions were running through her head. Sabel was the only guy apart from Damien, but she really didn't know him, who had been nice to Allison. Thus the reason she admired him. However when that other girl had ridiculed her, and had talked about her family company chocolates to Chaucer, and had ignored Allison she had wanted to smack the girl with her shoe. And then some random Slytherin had saved the day and had left Allison with chaos and a massive headache. Has she not screamed at the poor old man portrait that claimed himself a pirate? And all for what? For Sabel to scream at her?! Of course, Allison was exaggerating. |
Arya reached up and gently pulled Allison down beside her, positioning herself between the two in order to keep the peace. "Guys come on, its over and done with. Lets just move on with it." She looked at both of them with a little fustration in her voice. This was not the peacefull evening she had in mind. |
Emily walked into the student garden hoping for some peace and saw, suprise, Arya, Allison and Sabel. "Hey Guys!" |
Sabel blinked again at that, mentally replaying the past thirty seconds in his head on chipmunk-rewind speed. He paused and fastforwarded to present time before letting out a huge sigh. He gave Arya an apologetic glance that said he had to deal with this now before he exploded like an overmicrowaved pizza pop. "Look Allison. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap." He hadn't yelled exactly, but his tone had been harsher than he had intended it to be. "I'm just, really tired and today was just downright confusing. I had no idea what was going on. One minute it was us, the next it was these girls. I'm sorry I bailed, I panicked." And then Emily was there. Blinking he looked up and forced a tight smile. "Hey Emily." In truth, he loved being around his friends, but at that moment he wanted to work things out with Allison. He wanted to be back on the same page with her; the page in her good books. |
Allison's jaw drop. Had she just been scolded?! The last person who had scolded her had been her mother, and it was because she had changed her brother's online gaming password and refused to tell him the new one. With a small voice she answered Arya's question, "Flying was amazing." HA! Try getting something more out of me Arya! And there she went again, Allison and her self-monologue. And before she could go on being sarcastic Sabel said sorry and the broke Allison's little tough front. Being the cry-baby that she could be Allison's water-works broke loose. "That's not faaaaair! You said sorry! Not fair. No." Crawling towards Sabel she petted him as if he were her pet, "Ish ok. I'ves fohgiven joo." Looking up from Sabel's petting Allison looked at Emily and have a hiccup of a hello. She wasn't the one who could deal with emotions and when times got too rough, the only thing Allison knew how to do was cry. Giving a watery smile to Arya while still latched onto Sabel she said, "Professor Vindictus is a much better teacher than my cousin Bianca." |
A look from Sabel told Arya that this wasn't gonna end just yet. She sighed an understanding sigh and let Sabel speak his mind. Truth was she wasn't to happy about what happened at the table either, but she wasn't angry at Sabel for leaving. She remembered the look he gave her when they were at the table that said he had no idea what was going on. Looking up she smiled at Emily, "Hey Em." before looking to Allison. "You know you can't blame Sabel for what happened. He was just as confused as we were. None of us knew that the girl was crazy."She hated going against Allison but she had to side with Sabel on this one. |
Dropping Sabel's head Allison looked at Arya with astonishment. She had nothing to say back, perhaps because Arya was 100% right, or perhaps because Arya was going against her. We shall never know, but one thing was for sure, at that very moment, on that school night...Allison Scott was speechless. Wiping at her tears she sat as so to hug her knees, and when she did she did the only thing logical in her head, she stuck her tongue out at Arya. "Fine whatevs. I swear I won't try to help Sabel anymore." Looking at Sabel the corner of her lips tilted upward, "I mean, Sabel is a big boy. I'm sure he can save himself." |
Originally, he had opened his mouth to ask why in the world apologizing was not fair. Then he was going to give Arya a small, apprecative smile for her understanding. The way he saw it, the frustration and anger between all of them shouldn't be happening; things got crazy, everyone did something silly and here they were. Simple as that. At least he thought it was simple until Allison latched onto him and started crying. And petting him. Why was she petting him? The only word that came to mind was a small cry of help in that he had no idea how to react. He wasn't good with girls, not when it came to crying and clinging and well...what had happened at the table. So, he did what his mind perhaps thought reasonable and patted her back. And then she was gone again. He blinked over at her with her words and was right dumbfounded. He thought he had tried taking care of himself by leaving. He could only stare at the other girl. Unfortunately he couldn't remove the bewildered bug-eyed look from his face. He wished someone would explain what was going on exactly. |
Arya felt the tears weld up in her eyes but she refused to let them fall. She went over and hugged Allison in hopes to comfort her. Looking at Sabel she shot him a 'help me' look. Hoping he would know what to say, or atleast say someting. It seemed he was too lost for words. |
Patting Arya's arm Allison grinned at the three crazies next to her. She had already assimilated that she was insane as well, so in her words 'whatevs.' Standing up she looked at her friends, "So who here was being a tough dude, and was talking back to my Head of House." Allison bit her bottom lip and looked at Sabel. She didn't understand why he looked so uncomfortable. Everything was okay now. Yes. He had cheated and said sorry, and that had solved things. After such a long emotional roller coaster, Allison fetched her bunny pack and retrieved a chocolate. Stuffing it in her mouth--for energy, she plopped down on the grass and stretched her arm out for her mother's butterfly who had wandered off during the little emotional scene. "Little." |
And then she had to bring up that. Sabel redenned a little out of embarrasment at the reminder of the flying lesson but somehow managed to keep his chin up. He wasn't ashamed of what he had done nor was he sorry for it. Instead he gave a one shouldered shrug and folded his legs under him. "I was just expressing my opinion." He picked at the grass. He didn't like to see it as 'talking back' persay, but he supposed that was how it was defined. "I don't see what was so wrong about going down to help, or try to help, Keeley. I wasn't trying to be tough or talk back." So, were they okay now? He spared a glance at Arya and noticed she looked rather upset too. He was soo confused. |
Arya blinked her tears away, confusion on her face. What had just happened? In a matter of minutes Allison up and talking about flying class ,eating chocolate like nothing had happened. She remembered vagily what Allison was talking about, but wasn't able to bounce back like Allison. She listened to Sabel talking and wondered if there little argument about breakfast was over. Giving up she sighed and lade down in the grass looking up at the stars. "Was Keeley okay?" It couldn't hurt for her to play along, even if she was still confused. |
Glancing over at Arya he let out a heavy breath. He figured he was about as frustrated and confused as she was. Why was she close to crying? Shaking his head he proceeded to nod, the combination becoming a bit of a dizzying head movement. "I think so. Just a few bumps and brusises." He glanced back at Allison. They couldn't just burry it. Fine. He let out a huff of air. Since he wasn't one for keeping his mouth shut usually he figured now should not be an exception. "So, what exactly is going on here between all of us? What happened at the table and what is going on now? Why are you two close to crying?" |
Allison mimicked what Sabel had been doing earlier and lay on the ground. She didn't recognize one constellation. Well that's why she was going to take Divination. At least she hoped they taught that there. "Well that was brave and all but scary too. Out of all the classes, I think I liked flying best." Turning to look at her friends Allison frowned, "I dunno about Muggle Studies. I was wrong about going there. I thought I'd learn something I didn't know. Seems I already know enough about muggles to worry about the subject. Oh and sorry Arya. Really. I mean kicking you in the stomach with a ball. Ah-ha, oops?" Allison had the gift of energy--and the gift of getting that energy mostly from chocolates. So while her inner turmoil was lost because it no longer contained relevance in Allison's head, Allison was all over the place. The crying had helped her so much that she felt as good as new. However because she was back to her usual self she also managed to skip Sabel and Arya's confusion. And baam inner turmoil wins and is back. "Going on?" Allison looked from Arya to Sabel. Going on? Who was going where? And on what? |
Arya took a deep breath before letting out a long sigh. He's just not gonna let this go. Can't he tell I was glad to be done with it? Now he wants to bring it back up...great. Wiping away they tears she thought was gone, she looked over to Sabel. "I think were all just freaked out by having such a crazy first day...that's all. but were fine now, and I..."She trailed off not knowing what to say cause truth was she didn't know what she was feeling. It was more like a mixture of emotions that all most made her cry. She looked away from Sabel to Allison glad for the change in subject. "Muggle studies was fun, you should go back Allison. It won't be the same without you." She smiled remembering the class. No, it wouldn't be as entertaining without Allie there. |
