OOC: Before posting in this thread, you must first have been called back by Healer Ashford. To be seen by the Healer, please post in the Check-in Area for Patients first then in the Waiting Room for Patients and Visitors.

Upon entering the Hospital Ward and Healing Area (either on foot or via mobilicorpus‎), you'll come upon a long hallway that eventually forks into two different directions. You'll want to proceed to the right, the direction that will take you to the Healing Area. Healer Ashford will be waiting for you. It is in the Healing Area that you'll receive the medical attention that will hopefully heal you right away and send you back to classes and your everyday life.

If, however, you aren't able to be healed right away and your character is in a rather serious condition, Healer Ashford will escort you (or utilize mobilicorpus‎) to the Hospital Ward. It is in the Hospital Ward where you will receive further medical attention that will surely heal you and get you back on your feet.

OOC: Once your character is seen and tended to, Healer Ashford will deem them "well" and able to return to classes/everyday life. If your character continues to suffer from repeat conditions, it's likely that he or she will be admitted into the Room for Quarantined Patients. If this happens, you will be temporarily placed in the "Quarantined" user group, and your posting in the school will be temporarily limited to the "Quarantined" thread only.

Gabriella scooted her chair back just a bit when she heard the two little words most everyone hated to hear---throw up. Eww. She was a Healer, yes, but that didn't mean the site of puke was any less horrific than it was to anyone else.

"Hmm, well that doesn't sound very pleasant," she remarked, although she was sure he knew that much. She studied him for a moment as she considered what was ailing him. "Mr. Fritzera, how's your diet been lately? Are you eating well? You haven't had too much of any sweets or fried foods, hmm?

"You'll do well to remember to eat within reason, Mr. Fritzera. Especially when it comes to sweets," she warned. Birthday cake was one of the worst sweets to overeat, at that. "It's probably just an upset stomach, but even if it is something like food poisoning, this potion will eventually cure it. Eventually, meaning in a few hours. I'd get a bit more bed rest after drinking it."

She just didn't understand...girls had smaller stomachs. Therefore, they didn't eat as much. Plus he was a GROWINGGG boy!

"I usually don't eat sweets either," he added in his defense. He felt like he had done something wrong or something. "But that cake was REALLLLLLY gooooood. Better than...than...well, picture your favorite sweet treat. It was better than that," he said with a smile.

Gabriella narrowed her eyes even further at the whole 'ate less than Justin' part of Jack's reply. Eating less than whoever this Justin character was could mean anything between one piece of cake and...a hundred pieces of cake---or more! When she finally heard that the number was five, Gabriella blinked a few times the changed her expression to a disappointed frown.

"I understand, Mr. Fritzera, that you absolutely adored the taste of the cake; however, how do you feel now---now that you're here in the Hospital Wing feeling as ill as you do? Surely you might feel as if eating so much cake at once wasn't a good idea...?" she remarked. He had yet to actually take the potion, though, so Gabriella motioned her hand towards it, indicating she wanted him to drink up. Jack frowned. This wasn't fair...how come JUSTIN wasn't keeling over? He had more cake than him! The more he thought about it, however, the more he realized that his brother at that stuff regularly--he was probably used to it. It didn't effect him.

And yet he STILL had nicer abs than him. It was just NOT fair.

The click-clacking of her heels grew softer and softer until she was so far away they couldn't be heard from room one anymore. The last time she had checked, the waiting room was pretty full of ill or injured people; so knowing this, she turned the corner and headed in that direction.

Thalia entered Room 1 of the Hospital Wing alone. Her hand covered her nose with the handkerchief she held and she went to take a seat on one of the beds. She was scared she would pass out and felt shaky as she could barely control her balance. The 14 year old girl hoped that healing her broken nose would not take long.

"Episkey!" A slight popping noise was heard, an indication that the spell was taking affect.

Gabriella had swished, flicked, and casted before she even had time to complete her sentence. Se often did this when she thought a patient may get nervous or overly worried. "You'll feel a small amount of pain for about three seconds afterwards," she finished. She gave the girl an apologetic look, for she knew that had hurt. A second later, though, she was smiling, for she also knew that the girl would feel much better now that her nose was mended.

Emalyn entered room one after Ashford had told her to. She gave a small sniff, which hurt, but she was sick of wiping everything on her sleeve. She absolutely HATED muggle hospitals and hoped this wouldn't be the same. No needles, no IVs, no weird surgeries...hopefully.

She wringed her hands together, biting her lip.

Thalia saw Healer Asheford and was very nervous in having her nose repaired. Well she wanted it mended but it was going to hurt. She had a really bad feeling about it. She listened as the woman spoke about the process being quick and was about to ask what the second one was when---

'POP'

OWW!!! That 'pop' hurt worst then expected so she gave a small cry of pain when the Nurse had surprised her and mended her nose first. It stung just like she was mentioning and could hardly pay attention until the pain subsided. She sighed in relief and felt her nose. Yep. Back to normal. "Thank you so much Healer Asheford," she grinned. "I probably would have been to freaked out if you hadn't surprised me by healing it without giving me time to protest," she continued.

The girl may have fainted and no one wanted that. She tried wiping her still bloodied nose but she wasn't going to get all of it with her sleeve. "I may as well get going," Thalia figured standing up. "Thanks again," she smiled and walked out of the room to find Parker. She never wanted to go through going to the hospital wing that was for sure.

Shortly after Emalyn's arrival, Gabriella opened the door to room one and made her way inside. Emalyn, she remembered, was the girl with the broken nose from the Quidditch match. Quidditch had surely causes its fair share of injuries this school year, that was for sure. "Good day, Miss Daniels. Broken nose, hmm?" she greeted, pulling out her wand as she talked.

"Now the thing about a broken nose is that it's fairly easy to mend. It requires just a simple Episkey and a wave of the wand," she explained. The part she dreaded telling was the part that came next. "Once I cast, though, you will feel a small, short pain in your nose as the bone shifts back into place. I promise you that you feel loads better once that happens, though."

She raised her wand towards Emalyn's nose, swished and flicked, then said, "Episkey!"

Gabriella smiled warmly at Thalia, but at the same time, she nodded her head in agreement. That had been her plan all along---to cast the spell when the girl least expected it, so she wouldn't even have a spare second to do any extra worrying. This was the same technique she'd just used on Emalyn, too.

"That was my plan, Miss Munroe. I'm glad it worked, and I'm glad you're feeling better," she said. "Have a good day!"

Gulp.

Episkey. Right...that sounded a wee bit familiar. And it would mend it, yes? By magic, painless, no surgery, no long healing process, no...

And then Ashford finished her sentence and Ema's heart beat faster. She was about to open her mouth and say something, when the woman cast the spell quickly with a flick of her wand. Ema had just enough time to flinch when she felt a considerable pain in her nose and felt (and heard) a POP! sound. "YOWCH!!!" she squeaked, cupping her nose in her hands. It had felt way worse than when the nose had actually broken. The blood immediately ceased and Ema choked back tears and the lump in her throat.

No needles. No surgery. Half of what she feared did not occur, it was the best she could have expected.

"Thank you," she sighed in relief, and realized that this is what must have happened to the other girl who was leaving the room. "But - Healer Ashford, do you mind if I ask you a question?" Ema asked, tugging on her bloodied sleeve and gazing from the ground to Ashford's eyes. "Is there a potion...a remedy, that can cure all ills? Kinda like...whatever you have wrong with you, it can fix it? I know that if there really was one, everyone would use it for everything, but - is there anything close to that? That you could use for a serious, non-magical illness?" she now tugged on her earlobe and was immediately reminded of Kazimeriz's office. "Or that would at least contribute to the healing process of it..."

She bravely met Ashford's gaze and waited.

Mina slowly hobbled into the Room One with the help of Healer Ashford. Wincing slightly, she moved further into the room. She bleeding had stopped for the most part, but the pain was starting to come back. Her head began to pound again. Maybe she was overexerting herself with trying to remember. It was just too much for her.

Glancing around slightly, she got nervous. She wasn't at all too fond of hospitals and just hoped that she wouldn't be there long. Her previous visit to the wing didn't bother her, as she was under the effects of a potion and she didn't know what was truly happen. This time, she knew she was there because of her injuries. Injuries that she still had no idea how she acquired. She knew hoe serious it was this time around.

Gabriella gave the poor girl a half-smile, half-sympathetic look. She knew that had hurt, but she also knew Emalyn must feel a lot better now. "You're welcome dear, and I do apologize for suddenly casting without warning. You see, I've found that patients get a lot less worked up when they don't realize something's coming," she explained. From her experience, patients tended to worry themselves sick---literally---if they were warned ahead of time.

Her eyes narrowed in thought at the sound of the girl's next question. It seemed as if she was looking for a remedy for the cure to...cancer or some illness similar to that. Not sure of exactly what she was looking for, Gabriella said, "I'm not sure, dear. Why do you ask?"

While she waited on Emalyn to reply, Gabriella made her way over to where Jasmina stood. With her hand, she gently guided the girl to a nearby bed, giving her a warm smile as she did so. She started the process by administering a Strengthening Potion. At least this would give the girl a little extra energy to withstand the healing process. Then as soon as she was completely healed, she'd regain all her natural strength and energy.

She cleaned around Jasmina's gashes, cuts, and scratches then casted a spell to begin closing the deep wounds. The minor wounds would just require a bit of ointment. "You're doing just fine, Miss Bennett," she said, hoping to relax the girl just a bit. "You'll be all better in just a matter of minutes..." When the deep wounds were closed, Gabriella took an ointment and gently spread it over the cuts and scratches. "Are you begin to feel better?" she asked, still a little concerned over what had happened.

Sitting on the bed, Mina smiled back weakly. She had faith in the healer, but she was still feeling weak and a bit scared from not knowing what was going on. She was probably just working herself up over nothing, but she was scared. Seeing herself covered in her own blood scared her immensely.

The Strengthening potion did help to give her a little energy, but her nerves were still a bit on the high side. She needed to relax, but her mind was racing still. She wanted to remember what had happened, but she couldn't.

Wincing slightly at the feeling of the ointment on her skin, she nodded. "A little," she replied as she felt her head. The gash on the back of her head was closed up now, but her head still hurt and her vision was still a bit cloudy. Her throat was feeling better and talking wasn't bothering her any more. "Is it normal for my ears to be ringing and head to be pounding still?" she asked. The throbbing of her head was still coming in waves and only intensified when she tried to remember. Something was still wrong and she couldn't relax yet.

Gabriella sat down on her stool and gave Jasmina a warm smile. She could tell the girl was in a panic, so she wanted to do what she could to help calm her. "It is normal, as you've been badly injured. We're not sure what happened, but we're definitely looking into it," she explained. "Why don't you drink this? It's a Calming Draught, which will help settle your nerves." She held out a phial of potion for Jasmina to drink.

"I believe you'll feel much better after a good rest. When you've taking the Calming Draught, you need to head back up to your dormitory and get some rest," she instructed. "Your body just needs to be still for a while and work its way through the healing process."

She did the same sort of thing to muggle nurses. If they came at her with a shot, she ran around and tried to use something against them. Yes...VERY good idea for Ashford.

Ema tilted her head to the side and glanced down at the floor, shuffling her feet slightly and then took a deep breath. "No reason, really...just curious. You see, I'm just interested in muggle ailments, kinda...and...well, I wondered if there was something - anything - that would maybe work." Emalyn tugged on her earlobe and raised her gaze to look straight into Ashford's eyes. Best not to avoid eye contact. "Professor Kazimeriz said something about some potions affecting muggles in bad ways. Like, there could be a potion that could heal a wizard, but it might not work on a muggle, and could even damage or kill them. Is that true?"

Emalyn ran her hand through her hair and watched miss Ashford anxiously.

Mina nodded slightly as she folded her hands in her lap. She really was working herself up and that probably wasn't good for her. She did need to calm down if she wanted to remember anything. Taking the phial with a shaking hand, she slowly brought it to her lips and took it down.

She liked to make potions, but taking them was a different story. At least the draught wasn't as terrible tasting as others and hopefully it would help her calm down and get back to normal. Rest would probably be the best thing for her at the moment and would set her mind at ease. Her mind started to clear slightly as the pounding lessened a bit. Apparently, it was working. Taking a breath, she exhaled slowly. "So rest and being still? I should be okay after that?" she asked. being still wasn't something she was used to, but if that was what was needed, she would jsut have to learn to be still.

Gabriella said nothing as she waited for Emalyn to answer the question. The Healer was curious as to what Emalyn was thinking and exactly what she needed to know about. She nodded in understanding when the girl finally explained her reasoning.

"Ahh, I see. Well there are several reasons our potions can't be used as muggle remedies. Number one, it threatens to expose our magical world, and you know, it's a well-kept secret...and has been for generations and generations," she said. She didn't even want to imagine the chaos that would erupt if muggles even had the tiniest idea that magic---real magic---really did exist.

"Professor Kazimeriz is correct. You have to remember that our magic lies within us, therefore our very souls are equipped to handle a world muggles can not. Magical remedies are no exception to this," she continued.

Gabriella kept a close watch on Jasmina as the girl drank the Calming Draught. When it was finally consumed, the healer took the phial and disposed of it. "You should be, yes," Gabriella responded. Although, the girl should have been fine in the first place---her injuries never should have happened. They did, though---for whatever reason---and it was up to Gabriella to make sure Jasmina was properly healed. "There's no need to worry yourself at all. You're going to be just fine."

Looking towards both girls, she added, "Since the two of you are healed, I'm going to have to leave and head back into the healing area. There are many more children still waiting to be seen. You may let yourselves out." With a little smile, she turned and headed out the room.

Delanie walked into room one as she was asked and took a seat, waiting ever so patiently for the nurse to come help her. Ugh, she was ready to get better!
