She smiled up at him as he agreed to go back to the castle. Thalia wondered what the holidays would hold when Christmas came around. There was Parker and her cousins at Whitehall Manor and Jude at Briony's flat in London. She hoped no arguments would arouse between them. Her and Jude or her and Parker.

"I had fun," she mused with a smile as they walked. Lots of fun. Even if she had cried today. They got everything resolved though.

Gold gave him a look. Was he keeping something from her? Why was he so hard to get along with, today, anyway? She honestly had no idea, but she hoped they could talk a bit, without one of their mini-fights, or something. Please?

"Thank you," she said simply, her hand all warm in his. She waved to Brody as she fell into step beside him, silent. Which she remained until they had left a bit of the crowd behind.

"Dylan?" She wanted to hug him, again. She always did want to, these days. "Is everything alright?"

Dylan just caught that look. Why was she looking at him like that? She knew. Or she suspected something. Either way it didn't look good for Dylan. He would kiss her, and she would forgive him. Thats how it worked. After he had told her of course. But he couldn't with her around.

And they had left her! Yes. Now he could tell her. He was about to, when she asked him. "Everything is ok now," he smiled. "But...well...I had an accident." Let her in gently. "Worse than what happened to my hands."

Gold's mind wasn't exactly on Dylan, as they walked. More on how pretty it was to be with him. Even when they weren't exactly in their best spirits. Though it was sort of hard to be unhappy around him. At least, for more than five minutes.

Then he spoke, and she frowned. "Right," she said. "You had an 'accident,' and you didn't tell me. Because you can't trust me, or something? Or do you think I'm too weak-hearted, or just not important enough?" She honestly wanted to glare at him. But she wasn't going to.

He shook his head. "No it isn't because I don't trust you or anything." He sighed, and let go of her hand. "It's because I feel ashamed." He started to unbutton his shirt. "I don't know what happened. I woke up covered in blood." He showed her the giant scar on his chest. "Usually one remembers when something that extravagant happens. But I don't. I don't remember a thing. I remember going to bed. But that is it."

"I love you Gold. I trust you with my life. I didn't tell you because I was ashamed."

Gold's frowned deepened, as he continued to speak. Ashamed? How could one possibly be ashamed of an injury, that one had nothing to do with? Then he started to unbutton his shirt, and her eyes widened. No, not because he had an awesome chest - which he, umm, did - but because of that scar. That giant scar.

"Dylan," she exclaimed. "WHEN did this happen? You ... you..." You what? Jerk? Well, YES! Because he was a HUGE one for not telling her, at once. "That looks really serious, did you tell someone? A professor or the headmaster?" He needed to. "I mean, you just went to bed, and woke up with that?"

Good God!

It must have been so very, very painful. Gold came to a sudden halt, and threw her arms around him. "I hate you for being a bad Dylan, and keeping that from me," she said softly, burying her head into his chest. How could he?!

"It happened the other night," he said, looking at the floor. She was angry at him. He sighed. "There were a few of us. The Healer fixed us up, and the Headmaster was called. He's dealing with it. I think." He wasn't sure what had happened after he had left the Healer's office.

"Well yeah. I went to bed. I don't remember falling asleep. And I woke up without my shirt on. Well it was wrapped around my chest, covering the hole. It was covered in blood. I had to throw away the shirt." He missed his silk shirt, but he had many others.

"I'm sorry," he said, wrapping his arms around her. "I should've told you. But I thought you would hate me for being forgetful or for having a giant hole in my chest. It just ruins my body. I don't look good anymore." He ran his hand down her hair, "I am so sorry."

This was VERY serious, then. Even though Gold was, at the moment, mostly upset about Dylan. How could anyone be so heartless? "I don't like the sound of this," she said quietly.

"Forget the shirt, Dylan!" She actually shivered, as she spoke. She didn't want to imagine the scene -- and it did not help that she had a bit of a runaway imagine, either. "I'm so, so, so glad you're alright." She clung to him, clearly unhappy.

... and then he apologized, and Gold looked up at him. "Don't be," she said softly. "... and Dylan? It doesn't ruin anything." Did he really think she would go for looks? Sure, she was vain, but... darn, she was in love with him. The only thing that mattered to her, now, was his safety. She didn't really care about anything else.

"You look perfect," she told him, quietly. "Always have." She wasn't actually the type to get too cuddly in public but, standing on tiptoe, she gave him a little kiss. "I love you."

"... a lot."

He shook his head, "I don't like it either. I hope Tate can get to the bottom of it, before it happens to someone else." That was if it happened again. Was 6 enough?

"I am fine now. No lasting damage. Well not physical. I have decided to lock my door. I may have been sleepwalking," he smiled, "Just this. And this is better than being dead."

Dylan smiled at her. He loved her so much. "You are perfect too," he said, kissing her back. "I love you alot too. So much. I want to tell you every day." He wrapped his arms around her waist.

"Happy Valentines Day my lovely," he smiled. He unwrapped his arms and buttoned his shirt back up. He produced a little blue box from his pocket. For a trained eye it could be recognised as a Tiffany box.

"You have definitely not been sleepwalking," Gold said, with a little frown. She did not like the sound of this. Besides, her instincts told her, quite clearly, that this was a serious matter... and then he said something about being dead, and she grabbed his shoulders, and shook him a bit. "Do not EVER say that again. Ever."

It was sort of ironic, that he had to bring up the fact that it was Valentine's Day, after that. Gold forced herself to smile, but then she pouted as he buttoned his shirt back up. She wanted to eye his chest. It would totally look awesome, without that injury. Because it managed to look amazing, even with that scary scar.

"What's in there?" she asked, referring to the box, and finally having pulled away from him, even though she did not want to.

"Well I would rather have the scar than be dead," Dylan smiled. Even if she didn't like the idea of him being dead. "I won't say it again. I promise." His head wobbled as she shook him. He giggled. It was funny.

He handed it to her, "It is your Valentines Day present." He beamed. Hoping she would like it. He had spent ages over the holidays searching for it.

"Dylan, stop it!" She really glared at him, this time. Then she pouted, and hugged him. "I no like." Bad talk, bad talk. "Let's just... talk of nice stuff, okay?"

She took the little, blue box, and hugged it close. How pretty! Then she opened it, and her lips curved into a really pretty smile. "It's gorgeous, thank you," she said, her eyes sparkling with happiness. "Help me wear it?" She held out the lovely piece of jewellery.

She was happy.

"Nice things," Dylan smiled, "Like the pretty Tiffany nacklace I bought you." He took it from her hands, and undid the clasp. He wrapped it round her neck and did it back up. He beamed at her, "You look amazing." He had the most amazing girlfriend in the world. Ever.

"It took me a while to find the perfect one," he smiled, "And I think I did. Do you like it?"

"Yeah," Gold said, with a nod. That was a nice topic. A very nice one, to be exact.

She stood silent, perhaps a little thoughtful, while he slipped the necklace round her neck, and did the clasp. "I bet I do," she chuckled, when he said she looked amazing. "I mean, I am pretty." She couldn't possibly get vainer, could she?

"I love it," she said warmly, slipping her hand back into his, as she resumed their walk. "Thank you." She had something to give him too, but not right now.

Soon, though.

Dylan smiled, "You are more than pretty. You are beautiful. Fantastic." He couldn't think of more words for pretty at the moment. But he meant them.

He felt her hand against his. It felt so perfect. He didn't want to think about what would happen if they were ever to drift apart. It would be awful. "You are welcome. You deserve it."

Her birthday was next. Oh how could he up and diamond necklace. Maybe a car. No that was too much. And he couldn't quite afford one of them. "So do you need anything in Hogsmeade?"

She gave him a little smile, as they continued to walk. It was good to just listen to the sound of his voice, not say anything at all. But of course, things couldn't quite go on, that way.

"No," she said, with a shake of her head. "Not really. I just want to walk with you. Talk a bit. Is that not okay?" She halted for a second, to look up at him. Was that okay?

"Nope that is perfectly fine," Dylan smiled, "I was just checking. That way we didn't have to get distracted by any shops." He wrapped his arm around her waist as they walked, better than holding hands. "Are you warm enough?" She could wear his coat.

He smiled and gave her a quick peck on the cheek. He wasn't one for too much lovin' out in public. The odd kiss, and cuddle. They were in love after all. But there were little kids around, and they didn't need to see it.

Oh. That was okay, then. Meant he wasn't distracted. "Plenty warm," Gold smiled, when he wrapped his arm around her. That was all she needed, to be honest. One arm. His arm.

"I got you something," she told him, pulling at his sleeve. Umm, yes, she liked doing that. "I love you."

"Oh good," he smiled. He didn't want her to be cold. That would just ruin the moment. Them having a romantic stroll on Valentines Day. He kissed her on the forehead.

"You got me something?" he smiled. He chuckled as she tugged on his sleeve. He liked it when she did that. It made him smile. It was her little thing. "I love you too."

Gold nodded, and eyed her purse a bit. Yes, she had gotten him something. Because she wanted to.

"It's in there," she told him, coming to a halt and glancing at her purse, again. Not really a purse. Sort of a biggish, poofy bag. "But you have to close your eyes first."

"Close my eyes?" he chuckled, "That is unfair." He let go of her body and held out his hands. He closed his eyes like she requested. "Ok honey, they are closed." She wasn't going to lead him anywhere mean was she. Or bite him. That would not be pleasent. It felt odd with his eyes closed. He wanted to look at her. To see her.

"It is not," Gold insisted, with a pout. Thankfully, he did not resist too much. She chuckled when he finally closed his eyes, and held out his hands. Standing on tiptoe, she kissed him.

"You can open your eyes, now," she told him, mirthfully. "Because that was the real present. This is more of a formality." With which she handed over a prettily wrapped box. Wrapped in shiny, red-and-green paper, that is. It contained a perfume. Not any perfume, though. A perfume that was special for her, for several, not-so-conventional reasons.

She would tell him those, sometime.

Dylan smiled, as he waited for something to touch his hands. Instead it touched his lips. His smile widened. She had kissed him. It was better than being dragged off somewhere mean.

He opened his eyes. "I like that present." He put his hands back down. He didn't feel like much of a lost blind kid now. Oh she had a present for him too. He took hold of the red and green paper. Red for her, green for him. He opened it very carefully. It had a fragrance in it. Did she think he smelt? He took a whiff of it. Mmm smelt good. Slightly better than his Lancome.

"Why this smell?" he asked, "Smells good. But why?"

Gold watched him open his eyes, and then he had said that he liked the present. "You had better," she said all seriously, before grinning and slipping her hand back into his.

"Because I like it?" she suggested. "I used to ... don't laugh, okay? I used to buy it when I was small. I loved the scent, and had no idea it was a men's perfume." Hey, she was really, really small, back then! So what if she had this oh-so-passionate love for a men's perfume? Funny thing was, she might have told him not to laugh, but the corners of her own mouth twitched into a grin.

"There are a couple of other reasons, too. But I mostly wanted to give it to you because that perfume is... special. For me." Lots of happy memories associated with it, yes.

He smiled, "That doesn't always have to be a present you know." He held onto her hand tightly. He wasn't letting her go. Except to the bathroom. He couldn't go in there with her.

"You used to buy it as a child," he shrugged, "Ok. That's fine." Understandable. Kinda. Maybe her dad used it or something. Oh well. It was special for her? Did she give it to all her other boyfriends? "You are special to me," he smiled.
