A Muggle stereo has been set on the staff table, and it is being guarded vigilantly by Headmaster Tate and Professor Kade.

It's a Karaoke stage!

If you'd like to come up and sing a song or two, jump in line and take your turn.

A couple of rules:
* You can post yourself coming on stage and singing, but this is not a thread for chatting.
* Feel free to link to the song if you'd like but the lyrics must follow SS Rules and any visible contents on the page you link must not contain any swearing. If not, please just post lyrics (if you choose. You don't have to post any of the song).

Chris walked up to the quiet dias where noone had begun singing yet at the Karaoke station. He was so nervous, but he really wanted to express himself in a way that he normally didn't do around others. He was sure that they would love it though. His parents told him he was good, and Owen his Kneazle always ~~hisses in anger~~ sings along.

He stepped up to Professor Kade and then the Headmaster to retrieve the microphone and then stood there looking out at the people around and gulped. He took a slow breath and then used his left hand to grasp the air in front of his face, as if an invisible force to pull himself together. He closed his eyes dramatically he had to do this, the Gryffindor team had one today, and then began to sing! What you would think, by his manner of confidence would be a somewhat good voice definately was not. But he thought he was good.

In the spirit of sportsmanship? It was borderline, but he thought it was in good fun. "Thanks for getting the ball rolling, Mr. Potter."

He took a deep breath as the music filled the room. He began to sing. He smiled when he was finished and rejoined Marilyn.

Marilyn watched in shock as Carter began singing. Her expression was dumb struck and slightly embarrassed. Open displays were never her strong suits...but Carter didn't know that. Heat was rising in her cheek and her toes felt numb. "What..." She went to say something but was ultimately unsure of what to say. There were so many pairs of eyes around them...watching. Her breaths were coming out short and choppy. Was she having a panic attack?

She searched frantically for Rafe and seen that he was right behind them. Marilyn looked at him for a moment before turning back to Carter. "That's was beautiful..." Which wasn't a lie...but any situation that brought too much attention to her at this point wasn't good...Not good at all.

Rafe watched as Carter went back over to Marilyn. Well, if he was going to do something...

"What did everyone think of that game today? Go Gryffindor..." Rafe cleared his throat, "Anyways, I hope everyone has a good night, this is just a song, that just kind of reflects what's going on..." Too much. He just needed to get it over with. He nodded for the music to begin, cleared his throat once more and began to sing.

"Well, Merlin. Apparently only Gryffindor males are fool-hardy enough... or brave enough... to sing in front of the student body." He gave the two boys a look that was heavy on the eyebrows.

Singing for a woman who didn't want it... didn't endear you. Did they not see the look on the poor stricken child's face? He summoned Marilyn a cold butterbeer and let it drop into her lap.

Marilyn was looking to Rafe for comfort when in the next moment he was on the stage just as Carter had been. Had everyone lost their minds tonight?! She stared at him in open mortification, suddenly feeling something heavy drop in her lap. She glance down and notice a cold butterbeer. Looking for the source, her eyes landed on the Headmaster, who was giving her the most sympathetic look she'd ever seen. How embarrassing...

Feeling completely trapped at this point, she popped the top and sipped at the refreshing drink. While it didn't take her utter embarrassment away, it did feel nice on her throat. Glaring at both boys in succession, Marilyn sighed.

Rafe couldn't look at anyone. He felt like an idiot. He was trying to hard and that wasn't like him. He caught a glimpse at Marilyn with a butterbeer, but couldn't keep his gaze on her any longer as he dropped the microphone and raced past them to make his way to the sleeping bag area.

Raven noticed people doing karaoke and took a deep breath, she wanted to sing something but didn't want to make a fool out of herself in the process; it was about time to show her friends and classmates that this Irish Slytherin could do more than just cause trouble. She stepped onto the stage and grabbed the microphone, feeling the butterflies in her stomach; it was now or never for her to this, she cleared her throat and began to sing.

Inspiration came, when suddenly a few students went up to a stage and sang their melodies. OOoh, Annie wanted to sing too...but what could she?

Then this one came to mind. Meee, meee, I want to sing too!!! She waited for her turn, then when it was, she walked up to the microphone and took a deep breath. This song, is dedicated to Drew. Thank you...Adore, by Paramore She said, feeling her throat was closing during that sentence.

After watching a few people go up and sing karaoke, Cadence had decided that she had a few things that she wanted to say to this school. And what better way to say it than through song? Doubting that the people at this school, other than Nate, even had any clue she was actually a very talented singer, she walked up to the karaoke place with confidence, ready to sing her song.

Standing on the staff dias, she said, "Before I sing, I just want to say that this song goes out to everyone who has accepted me and taken me in for who I am. And especially for a certain someone who loves me every day just because I'm me."

Turning her karaoke music on on the Muggle Stereo she began singing the song "Me" by Faith Hill

Sing? Tyler couldn't really sing but it was a chance he was willing to take. Walking towards the karaoke machine, he took the mic and thought of a song to sing. Panic mode was on. Ty started to feel like he didn't want to sing anymore, but he was already up here. It would be the first time anyone has heard him sing.

"Here goes nothing," he mumbled and turned towards everyone else.

Lucy walked up to the stage, giggling a bit because of all the chocolate she had eaten. HYPERRRRR!! Quickly thinking of a song, she grabbed the mic as Tyler left it, and then started to sing.

Ok so Dylan hadn't seen Gold yet. She was surely there somewhere. And he wanted her to know he was about to. And how to do that? He could sing for her. Yes he could sing. But what to sing? Since there wasn't a piano, he couldn't play for her. He'd do that later. He found his way to the microphone.

Without an introduction, he began to sing. And he sang for her.

When he was done. He smiled, and left the stage. He had said everything he needed to.

Ziva stood in line, getting not a bit nervous. She actually wanted to sing now. She began fidgeting, but it wasn't because of nerves. It was because that's just what Ziva did. Then it was her turn.

The baron flew in glaring at all the students and sculking about... until... he saw the stage...

He floated towards it and stood before the microphone, and after he flung his robes over his shoulder, he began to sing:

Candy wanted to SINGGG. The hyper first year wolfed down some chocolate, then skipped to the staff dias and eagerly awaited her turn. She was going to get to SINGGG! OOOOHH!

She waved to the Bloody Baron as he left, then took her turn at the mic. She was actually a pretty good singer for her age and had a nice voice. But not many people knew that about the totally hyper little girl.

Emily picked up the microphone where Candy had left it and took a deep breath. The song she had chosen was from her favourite mugggle band and she knew it by heart. Remembering her singing teacher's instructions, she expanded her chest and began to sing.

Standing up on the dais, Marcus grabbed the microphone and waited for the music to start. For the first time in a long time he wanted to play his guitar. Like really play it, like he used to but for now he would have to settle for singing. He looked at Destiny and grinned at her mischeviously, "This one's for my favorite Slytherin."

Bwhahaha.

Lawson was a dork.

At least he could sing well enough. He didn't make Destiny's ears bleed or anything, so that was good. His choice of song was kinda mean though. She did not have mud on her face and what was with the can kicking? Pfffft.

Taking the microphone off him, Destiny made her way up to the dais. She could do this, how long was this song anyway? It would be over before she knew it.

She was glad for once that she had a muggle box at home, or she would not know any songs.
Taking a deep breath and avoiding all eye contact with Lawson whatsoever, Destiny started singing..

As Destiny started singing, Marcus stood there with mouth open, just staring at her. He promised not to laugh but really how could he keep to that promise after that.

He managed to do a good job but his sides were killing from trying to hold the laughter in and by the time she had finished, Marcus was on all fours, his body shaking with mirth.

When she was standing in front of him and spoke, Marcus straightened up and ran his tongue over his teeth. He would rather have chocolate on his teeth then stand up there and sing that song.

He slung his arm around her shoulders and steered her way from the dais just in case she got any ideas about singing anything else. "That was...different" he managed to say, still chuckling as they moved away towards where Professor Lupa was telling her story and to where his wife was.

Oh no. That is just mean. Destiny tried her best up there, and now he was going to chuckle and say her song was interesting? How interesting could it be? It was about FRUIT SALAD!! 'It was better than your song..' she retorted as she resisted the urge to punch the man in his stomach. Seriously, he sang about kicking a can. Real cool.

Where was he taking her now? Hopefully over to Iliana so she could tell her about all the unhealthy food he just ate.

Lawson was gonna get in big trouble..
