Dani started to laugh. As she went to step away from one of the windows she slipped on some ice. She landed on her bottom and started to laugh some more. That was going to hurt in the morning. "You know, I walked like extremely slow." she told him as she was getting up. Before she started to brush herself off she turned her back to her brother and asked, "Is there anything nasty on me?"

"NO!" she shriked. This was not going to be cool going back to the common room. Then she started to panic. "Torin, get it off. Get it off. Ewwww!" She was trying not to puke. "Torin please!" she exclaim as she started to cry. This was embarassing.

"Torin Kristopher Kane! How dare you!" she exclaimed. That was so not cool what he did. She took a deep breath. Turning her back on her brother, she walked over to where Dragon was perched. "He was mean wasn't he?" she said to the owl.

"Yeah whatever." she told him to both his comments. She was hurting and she was embarassed. Talk about two shots to her pride.

Ignoring her tone, he took the letter that he had written out of his pocket and handed it to her.

Dear Mum, I'm sorry that I haven't written to you yet this Term but I've been busy. Ive been studying for my OWLs a lot. Sometimes for 4 or 5 hours at a time. You would be so proud to see me when I'm at it. I'm also getting good marks on my homework. Things are going pretty good here with my friends as well. Though not too many of them seem to like my girlfriend much. Some of them want us to break up. Fyo was missing all Term up until now but he's back. And me and Reese have been fighting (what else is new?) but we have made up again. Oh yeah! I accidentally gave Reese love potion at the start of Term, so that caused some problems between us. With Brody and Jack too. How are you, dad and Cammy doing? I was thinking that I'd get her some CDs for Christmas. But I won't tell you what you and dad are getting 'cause I honestly have no idea whatsoever. I hope that Cammy isn't being mean to Sloth though. 'cause I'd rather my dog survive through another Term. There is another reason why I'm writing you though. But you have to promise that you won't tell dad about it. I don't want him totally flipping out. I can't miss my OWL year! But there was a student here that was killed recently. He was hit with the AK curse it seems. Not only that though.. but I was the one that found his body. Please don't panic and send me home though. I'll be okay. And so will Dani. Love, Torin. P.S. My best friend Tammy says that you can't make me go home 'cause she will cry and cry and die if I'm gone.

He leaned against the window ledge as he waited for her to read it.

Dani read Tors letter. "That is perfect." she told him Now hopefully the owls will get there at the same time.

He smiled at Dani and took the letter back from her, calling his owl as he did so. This was great and would get her to stop worrying about him... for the moment.

He was just tying the letter to Cat's leg when he heard the voice of his best friend. "Fyoooo. Oh, Fyodor Balouch!" he replied in a singsong voice as he sent his owl off.

Dani pulled out her letter and was tying it to Dragon's leg when she heard Fyo's voice. Then she heard Torins response she shook her head. "Little kids." she said to herself.

Target acquired! Fyo took a few, cheery steps, and Torin Kane swam into full view, complete with an owl [named after another animal, what?] and - he had not seen her in quite a while - his sister, Danika.

"Hel-LO," he said, with a nod of his head. "How do you do, meester?"
"We may be little," Fyo said, and now he turned to Dani with a slight smile playing around his lips. "But we sure are handsome." Bwaha. "How are you? Long time, no see, Dani."

Dani could not help but laugh. Leave it to Fyo. "Hey Fyo. It sure has been along time. I am good. How about you?" she asked him. Then she heard Torins reply to the handsome comment. "Fyo, you so much more handsome then that Torin of there." she said pointing at her brother with her thumb and giggled.

"Oh, whatever!" he retorted to Fyo pretending to be annoyed even though it was pretty obvious that he wasn't. For he and Fyo knew when the other was joking.

But the chocolate comment made him snort. "It cheers me up, smarty pants. I'm the one that found a dead kid in the dungeons." As he spoke, he took out a chocolate frog and removed it from it's box popping it in his mouth.

And then suddenly he was being yanked into a picture. "Why does everyone want my picture lately?" he asked shaking his head as he looked at the new photo.

Dani smiled brightly at her brother. "Sorry man, it is the truth." she said with a shrug. She was so teasing her brother. If she really wanted to she could use the 'Atleast there is only one of you.' card.

She turned to Fyo. "Everyone is better-looking then Torin. What can I say?" she asked. Laughing, she walked over to her brother and put her arm around his shoulder. "Hey I am only kidding." she told him. Stepping back to let the boys have their fun she had to laugh. Her and Simone were so not like that. Then there was the flash from the camera. It flashed just as she stepped and she found the slick spot again. She fell on her bottom again. "Arrrrr!" she said and slammed her hands on the floor.

Oooops. "Sorry about that," Fyo said hastily, as Dani - was toppled over a polite enough term? - well, toppled over, or whatever. He bit his lip, quickly dropped his camera into his bag, and held out a hand to help her up. "I'm really sorry about that."
"Everyone who?" Fyo asked, pocketing the snapshot with a clear fondness for it. "I need it for a Muggle Studies assignment, Torinbadkitty, I was only joking about the part where girls want it, in case your hopes have shot up."

He paused in the act of pocketing the photo when Torin mentioned the dead kid though. "Huh?" he asked, and his eyes were wide. "What dead kid, what the heck?" Gosh, which rock had he, Fyo, been living under?

He decided that it was best that he ignore his sister even if she was joking. Because he could so get mean and say things to her. But he was going to try to be nice to her.

"I have a girlfriend, Fyo" he reminded the forgetful Fyo!Lion who seemed to have forgotten that he didn't really need to try to impress the other girls. Well, besides Bunbury. But she wasn't a girl.

"Oh yeah. I cam upon the body of a kid that was murdered. I was the first person to find him."

Then Dani fell again. "That's what you get for being mean. Karma, sister." hehe.

"That is twice in a matter of minutes." she growled to herself. You would think she was able enough to walk on ice. She gave Fyo a small smile when he offered his hand to help her up. "Thanks Fyo. It was not your fault. Me and ice don't get along." she told him. Then she heard her brother's comment. She wheeled around and glared at him. "Yeah, remember that when she comes to bite you." she said. She walked slowly, rubbing her backside, to where she dropped her bag. She was going to so hurt later.

Fyo raised an eyebrow, not sure he understood what Torin was trying to get at. "So?" He asked, after a moment or two of thought that did not lead him to an answer. "I mean, so what if you have a girlfriend? Oh wait, does that mean you're not into other girls? How dull!" Hehe.

His eyes flickered, widened at Torin's words. "No way," he said, pupils huge. "No way." Then the string of questions gushed out, an irritated, not-so-happy fountain of inquiry, part-disbelief, part-further disbelief. "When did this happen? Where? Why didn't you tell me?"
Oh. Was she trying to be nice? "I'm still sorry," Fyo said, but he fell quiet as she turned to glare at Torin. "You two can't stay two seconds in the same place without the sparks flying, can you two?" he demanded, with a shake of his head. But, even as he spoke, there was concern in his eyes - she was walking rather gingerly, and he had a feeling that ankle might hurt. Bad.

"Foot alright, Dani?"

Rhea made her way over to the other side of the owlery with Riven on her shoulder and a rolled up note in her hand. She hadn't sent a letter to her parents since arriving at Hogwarts and figured that was hardly acceptable. She was sure her parents felt the same way.

After gently attaching the letter to Rivendell, she sent him off and turned to the two boys that she had met in the ice cream parlour over the summer.

"Well well, Torin and Fyo, Hogwart's very own dynamic duo. What manner of bad deeds are the both of you up to now?" She smirked.
Really,she had no evidence that they were ever up to no good, but they looked like trouble makers and she liked teasing them.
