Ravenclaw House Table Large quantities of food are spread before you. Whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the Hogwarts' house elves are the best in the world. The food is superb and the company is as well. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...uff/ravie2.jpg Banner Winner: Kay, demented_death_eater |
Having finished arithmancy Damon decided he would go to the great hall for dinner. He walked over to the table and started in on a variety of meats and pumpkin juice spread before him. Damon appreciated very much the quality of the food that was served in the great hall. He believed it was a very good value. Damon ate vigourously until he was full and felt satisfied. Having done this he walked out of the hall. |
Virgi was scared when she saw Damon sitting at the table she wanted to say hi but couldn't. She just took a seat far from him. |
Jack entered the Great Hall and went directly to the Ravenclaw table. He was starving and the food here was fantastic. Loading up his plate with all of his favorites, he then poured a huge glass of orange juice. He knew most everybody else drank pumpkin juice, but he'd never acquired a taste for it. OJ, milk, coffee or tea were his favorites, unless of course he could get his hands on Pepsi or Mountain Dew. He was almost done with his meal when a couple a barn owls came flying his way. In an instant, he could tell what it was.... His Mum had sent him one of his guitars! With both hands out, he caught it and held it close. The acoustic, by the feel of it. Jack gave each of the owls a pat on the head and ignoring the rest of his meal, he headed off toward the common room to unwrap his delivery. |
Damon walked into the great hall for breakfast. Damon vaguely remembered someone the last evening coming in and sitting far from him. Damon wished everyone to know that he was not that hard to say hi to and that there was a sense of goodwill in his heart. Damon ate hungerly as usual over several morning pastries. He continued eating ever watching what was going on around him. After finishing his meal he walked out of the hall very satisfied. |
Step. Skip. Bounce. TADA! With a starving stomach, Sabrina stood in front of the Ravenclaw House table, eager to get some breakfast into her. She had been chasing her, otherwise lazy, cat around the castle yesterday because she had had nothing else to do. She finished her Arithmancy homework and there was no homework for any of her other subjects yet. So basically, Sabrina Evanstar was highly organised in her last year at Hogwarts. At least so far. Yummmmm. Pancakes. Flopping down on a seat somewhere in the middle of the long table, Sabrina pulled a clean plate towards her and reached out to grab a pancake. But WHERE WAS THE SYRUP?! |
Open Rp. :) Samson dragged himself towards the house table, and noticed the atmosphere around it. It felt so... clean? He couldn't explain. The light filling the hall felt almost angelic and pure, and the lack of students around made for a less cluttered effect. He narrowed his eyes. The morning was so cheery it put him down for some strange reason. But only temporarily, because as soon as he spotted Sabrina, a rather wicked smile appeared on his face, and he proceeded to sit down across her. "Mornin', Sab," he quipped, even leaning on the table to greet her face on. Then he grabbed a plate himself, stacked a couple of pancakes and diced some bacon as toppings. Of course, Pumpkin Juice was never lost. He looked back at her as soon as he got his breakfast plate ready and eyed her own plate. "What, no syrup?" |
Something the short little seventh year absolutely could not understand is why everyone seemed so intent on surprising her these days. Sneaking up on her and then making her jump. Really, it was starting to bother her more than just a little bit. Oh, hey! It was Samson! "Morning, bro." Sabrina said, turning back to her syrup search. WHERE ARE YOU HIDING?! Her green eyes fell on Samson's plate and her face wrinkled in disgust. EEEEEEEW! How could someone add bacon to pancakes?! EW, Samson. Just, gross. But then again, she already knew that. Roslin knew pancakes and waffles were Sabrina's favourite breakfast items and she made them quite often. So she had seen her brother make the most ridiculous combinations (bacons as toppings on pancakes? Just EW! That WAS a ridiculous and disgusting combination). Although she had never tasted it, the smell of bacon was just ... ew. "You make the most appalling pancake toppings." She informed him, not for the first time either. "And I can't fiiiiind syrup! How am I supposed to eat my pancake without the syrup?!" Well, she could, but it wouldn't taste as good. Maybe she'll just have to make-do with toast. Hmph. |
Samson was able to grab a couple of kippers to add to his breakfast plate when Sabrina spoke. He looked up at her just as he stuck his fork and knife in his pancakes, and grinned widely. "Thank you," he said curtly, taking her comment on his pancake toppings as a compliment. He'd gotten that one too many times, but he didn't mind. For one thing, he loved the toppings. For another, he just loved to pick on Sabrina, how ever indirect. And lastly, of course, he loved the fact that he could eat whatever he wanted and Sabrina was stuck with her vegetable fetish. Meh. He sliced a triangle off and shoved it in his mouth, just with a little too much exaggerated enjoyment on his face. What could he say, he liked the food, and he loved picking on his sister. "Can't you make syrup pour out of your wand or anything?" Heh. |
"You're welcome." The blonde watched as Samson cut his pancake and ate it. He was trying to tease her and she was NOT going to let him win. No, she was not. As if she'd want to eat those pancakes which have bacon all over them anyways. Erm, EW! Thank you, but NO THANK YOU. Sabrina started tapping the table with her finger with increasing frequency as she looked around the table. Blink. Stare. Blink. Stare. Laugh. "Make syrup pour out of my wand?" Sabrina giggled and playfully kicked his leg under the table. "Saaaaaaam! You forget we can't make food appear out of thin air! We can duplicate it and stuff, but we can't create it." Sabrina giggled once again, then her eyes fell on a bottle sitting next to another platter full of pancakes a few seats away from hers. It was like the light was shining out from the bottle, making it look divine and pure and it was sitting there, next to a plate full of pancakes, waiting to be poured over them and savoured. To be eaten. By Sabrina. Yummmmmmmmmm. Bouncing off the table, Sabrina took a few hurried steps towards the bottle, as though if she didn't reach it quick enough, somebody else would steal it, yet she didn't run, not wanting to draw attention to the bottle. MINE! Snort. There was hardly anyone in the hall. Of course it didn't occur to the blonde that she could have just summoned the bottle to her. Upon reaching her destination, Sabrina grabbed the bottle and ran back as though she had just finished running a marathon, nearly stumbling when she took her seat again. It seemed somebody had switched her maturity switch off once again. "I gooooooot it!" She said, in a sing-song voice and happily poured maple syrup over her pankackes. Yummmm. |
"Thank you," Samson said again, just for fun. He could tell she was getting annoyed by the way she tapped her finger, but that was what he was here for. A feeling of accomplishment swelled somewhere inside of him. Yay. He sliced another pancake and chewed and chewed and yuuum. Bacon and kippers on pancakes weren't so bad. Finally, she stood up and came back happily with a bottle in her hand. Ah, it was the maple syrup! Samson beamed at her, and grabbed the bottle as soon as she had finished smothering her pancakes with it. He squeezed the bottle with both hands, making a rather unpleasant squeegie noise, and rubbed his hands together as he looked at his plate of half-eaten pancakes. "I wonder if they've got sprinkles around here or something," he wondered out loud to himself. |
Tib could use some friendly encouragement. ;-) Tibi plopped down rather dejectedly at the table, haphazardly tossing his school bag underneath. For all his excitement about his classes, he was worried. He was still waiting on extra shoes from his Mum, following the unfortunate Jake Upstead, DADA practice, shoe-melting incident. And while he had made it out of the DADA homework alive, he was having nightmares about giant pixies. But worst of all.... flying. Lessons hadn't started yet and as much as Tibi wanted to fly, he knew that he just wouldn't be able to. He was too scared of heights. He'd gone to talk to Professor Vindictus about it, but after a few nights of more pixie nightmares and falling nightmares, he wasn't so sure anymore. Slumping over with his elbows on the table, Tibi picked absentmindedly at his food. |

"I do ok," he said noncommittally, when she asked about classes. Most people thought he was doing well... but he disagreed. His spells might work in DADA, but he was terrified of using them. Back to the fork. Stir. Stir. Stir. |
Skye was relieved at seeing Tibi smile, even if it wasn't at bright as she would've liked. But she had to give him some credit, she reasoned, the guy looked defeated. Looking at his awkwardness, she added,"I'm Skye,"feeling it necessary to introduce herself. Upon hearing Tibi state he simply did "okay", Skye raised an eyebrow. "You're being modest," she stated. "You answer, like, every question," she pointed out, remembering herself struggling to remember the information, despite scanning through the textbooks a few times before class. Skye finished her food and got up. "Well, I'm really sorry, but I've got to go," she explained. "It was nice meeting you though," she added politely, smiling at Tibi. "Oh, and you might want to eat instead of stir," she added, noticing his fork repeating the same movement it was doing quite a while ago. "I'll see you around, I guess," she said, before turning to leave the Great Hall. |
Quote:
He shrugged when she told him that he answered all the questions and was being modest. He didn't feel modest. He felt not good. But, now she was leaving. Stir. Stir. Stir. He shrugged again when she talked about his food. Tibi's eyes stayed on his plate. He was totally in the doldrums. "See you around, I guess." Tibi continued to sit as Skye got up and left. Stir. Stir. Stir. *sigh* |
Rayedem walked into the Great Hall and to the Ravenclaw table, starving. He didn't care where he sat at, he only wanted to eat. Then he dropped himself on the chair and began pulling plates towards him. This is great, he thought, looking for perhaps dim sum. Everywhere he looked, he couldn't find Chinese food. This is England, maybe they only serve English food. He sighed, and gave up looking for them. Then, as he was reaching a plate of hash brown potatoes on his left, he noticed who he was sitting next to; Tiberius Pryce. Ah, the smart kid, he thought bitterly. He decided to just flash him a friendly smile and gesturing if it was ok to take the plate, but didn't wait for his confirmation. Then he remembered that he made Evan ditch him on DADA class. Of course I'm gonna talk to him, he thought to himself, later. He looked like he wanted to be alone.. Or maybe he could use some company? He seemed down. Using a pair of chopsticks he found nearby, he began to eat. |
Quote:
He gave the boy a weak smile; he thought he recognized him. Oh.. right. Tibi remembered. This was the kid that took Evan away in DADA and left Tibi with that Hufflepuff. "Hi. Rayedem, right?" Tibi stuck out his hand at the chewing boy and then went back to picking at his food. *Sigh* *SIIIIIGH* Rotten, horrible, terrible. BLAH. |
Quote:
"Cough. Coughcough--yeah-cough." and as the coughing continues, he gestured Tibi to wait for him until he was in a good enough condition to answer. Finally the coughs died away, and he spoke again, "Yeah, I'm Rayedem." he also stuck out his right hand, shaking Tibi's. "Nice to meet you, Tiberius." then he reached out for the nearest form of liquid that he could drink. A jug of pumpkin juice. Ugh. He poured the juice into his goblet and half-heartedly drank it. Well, it was better than nothing. He looked back at Tibi, "Hey, I'm sorry for ruining your DADA practice. I really had no idea we'd split up that way," he began, feeling that it's necessary to apologize, whether Tibi still remembered or not. After all he had made a mental note since the lesson, and now that it's done, it could be erased from his mind. "No hard feelings, right?" It was so lame to think that it was the reason he was so gloomy. For a moment he thought about asking, but then repressed his intention, considering the fact that they'd just met and it might take some time for Tibi to begin to like him. |
Quote:
Baaaaaaahhhh, Tibi was feeling like such a failure at magic, despite the fact that every one of his spells had worked. The flying thing was really bugging him. "Sorry I'm such a downer..." he said sheepishly, realizing that his mood was probably very apparent. "I'm just... well.. nevermind." |
Quote:
"It's okay to be down at times," he began, "it's normal. Happens to the best of us," then he paused, thinking what he should say next. He decided making Tiberius felt comfortable would be a perfect start. He wasn't sure about this next move, but he did it anyway; he scooted over so that he was sitting closer to Tiberius. He continued, "I know we've known each other for only like 5 minutes--or less, but I'm a good listener." he ended, smiling. "So if you feel like.. Talking to somebody, you can talk to me." he said again, his mind already processing what would be Tibi's reactions, "I might not be that smart, but.. I'd do all I could to help." that's it. He couldn't say any more. |
Quote:
"I.." should he say? Figuring it couldn't hurt much, he continued, "I.. I get scared really easily and that defense against the dark arts homework really freaked me out..." Tibi sighed. "I mean.. I could do the spells... but I was afraid to. You know?" Tibi hoped Rayedem would know what he was talking about. Slumping his shoulders ever further, he continued. "Plus... I'm afraid of fl..." but he was cut off as he heard the beating of wings. Looking up, he saw he little elf owl return with a package in her claws. "Pidgin!" Tibi yelled, momentariliy forgetting his glumness, a smile spreading across his face. That smile faded quickly as Pidgin swooped down and dropped the package in Tibi's plate of now-gray mush, sending it splattering. |
Quote:
"The DADA homework, huh? Well, you were there before me, yes." he tried to remember the time when he was waiting for his turn outside the professor's office. He thought no one could've done worse, and this boy, this boy, might be the last person on earth who could. "I got panicked, too. I even threw books and ink bottles at them, you know? I might have been the worst, but I don't think it matters much. What matters is that we've tried and done our best. Mom always says that." his face turned a bright shade of red as he added the last sentence. "And besides, it's pretty much our first time facing the real thing, real fight. I think it's normal." Then an owl--Tibi's owl came swooping down and dropping a package, and he laughed at Tibi's sudden change of expression, and the mush splattered all over both his and Tibi's robes. But he wasn't so easily distracted. Wiping the front of his robes with a handkerchief in his pocket, he continued saying, "What did you say you were afraid of?" and he offered the handkerchief to Tibi in case he also wanted to clean up some. |
Quote:
Unwrapping the package, Tibi was very aware that Rayedem wasn't going to let him get away without answering the question. Looking at the three new pairs of shoes in the package, Tibi searched for the note. "Um.. flying, actually, is what I was going to say. I have a terrible fear of heights and another of falling," he'd found the letter and was going to skim it while he talked, "sooo.. being on a broomstick sounds like exactly the worst possible combination of the two." Tibi frowned. "Vindictus said he'd help.. but I don't..." Tibi's voice trailed off as he reread the note from his Mum and flipped to what he had thought was another piece of parchment. Staring at the moving photograph, he forgot what he was going to say, entirely. |
Quote:
Let him be. Don't be such an egoist. You'd want to be left alone too, if you got a package from home. He chuckled at the thought. So, Tibi is of a wizarding ancestry, he thought. Now, who would send him one? Lucille's dad? Funny, Edem. No, that's not funny at all. That's pathetic. He stabbed a chunk of chicken and bit it, trying to distract himself from the recurring thought. Anything, anything would be a good distraction. So, Tibi is afraid of flying? Well.. If flying is like the wizards' sports, then he was certain that he could help. He'd been so excited about flying. He hoped he wouldn't ruin his chance to be good at it, so that maybe one day he'd be good enough and would be able to help Tibi. He took another bite of the chicken and another look at Tibi; he decided to give him some more time. |
Quote:
Re-reading the letter again to make sure he wasn't misreading, Tibi began to get really excited. Quote:
"Look!" Tibi turned back to Rayedem. "It's me and my dad! I didn't know he was a wizard until right before school when mum told me and she was cleaning and she found this picture and and... I'VE BEEN FLYING BEFORE?!" He'd been so excited about the picture of his dad that he'd been speaking a mile a minute and that last fact had JUST occurred to him. |
Quote:
"Look at that! You have been flying before!" he exclaimed. "Hey, didn't you look so happy?" he added, now leaning over to take a closer look at the photograph. The pictures were moving. They were moving--so this is what wizards' photographs would look like. Amazing. I've gotta take one with my family, too. Maybe finally dad would want to keep one. Then he let his eyes caught the sight of three new pairs of shoes, "Those look great too. Shoes are essential in sports, so are they in flying, I guess," he said hoping he didn't sound silly, "So I guess that means your parents really support you in this thing, huh? Way to go!" he ended with a smile. |
Quote:
Switching topics quickly, he put the photo down. "Heh, well, the shoes are for accidents." He chuckled. "Remember when we were practicing Expelliarmus in class? Jake Upstead melted my shoes to the floor instead." Tibi laughed, adding, "it was totally an accident, of course." "But yeah, Mum has been really great. I guess cause even though she's not a witch, she always knew about me so it wasn't a surprise, well to her at least. I didn't know any of this existed until I got my letter... she bought me Pidgin so we could keep in touch." Tibi felt like he'd been talking a lot about himself, so he changed the subject. "What about you? What do your folks think about all this?" |
Quote:
He was glad that the topic switched. Jake Upstead? He chuckled. Oh, the third year with the pink hair, right? Rayedem didn't know him personally, he only heard about him from people. He now told himself that he'd keep his distance, "Oh. I suppose wizarding mistakes could get nasty." "Well," he began answering Tibi's question, "my parents, they're both muggles. I don't know any relative of mine that's a wizard or witch, I guess my family and I just have to scan through the family tree to find out--or maybe my sister was the first witch, but that's ridiculous, right?" he added, hoping that it was ridiculous. He'd very much like to know if someone in his family was like him. "Dad's friend is a wizard, and his daughter is in first year too. Lucille Beambrook, she's my best friend." he ended, smiling, wondering if Tibi had met her yet. |
Quote:
Tibi considered Rayedem's family. "Well... someone told me that sometimes completely muggle families sometimes have a witch or wizard born into them but no one really knows why. So... I guess your sister could have been the first?" Tibi shrugged. "I don't think it matters much, though." He wanted to make sure that Rayedem knew that Tibi wasn't one of the kids that didn't like muggleborns. "hmmm.. Lucille? I think I've seen her around, but I don't know that I met her yet. It must be nice to come to school with a friend, already." Tibi tried not to look glum. He hadn't exactly been great at making friends so far. |
Quote:
Rayedem smiled. So far no one had complained about his blood status, and he was glad that Tibi didn't complain, either. Things really are starting to come together. "Well, my sister, she got two letters. The other one was from this other school, Beau-Batons or something, and in the end she went there and had never come back since. Unlike me, she was smart." he laughed sadly. It always makes his heart ache to think about Tannya. "I miss her." goodness, I didn't just say that. "I didn't know Lucille was going here too until we met at the train," he laughed, recalling those times. Yep, he was sure about it. "We didn't meet at the train, did we? Nor at the start of term feast. I guess I was really being an antisocial." he said. |
Quote:
"So, you haven't seen her? That must be hard." Tibi eyes were sympathetic. "I don't have any siblings... so I don't know what that's like." |
Quote:
"No, it's been three years or so. I don't know why she never comes home, not even after one term ends." he shrugged, then actually gave it a lot of thought, in Hogwarts they were allowed to go home every end of term, he was sure of it. What happened to Tannya? "And she never contacts, either." he added, rolling his eyes, thinking. "But never mind about that. Do you write to home often? I gotta remind myself to get an owl, next time I'm in Diagon Alley. I need to write to my mo--I mean, my parents, too." he said. |
Quote:
"Mum wants me to write whenever I can. She was nervous about sending me, I could tell, but she promised my dad she would." Tibi paused. There had been a lot of owls in the owlry when he went up there last time. "You know, I don't think you need your own owl.. I think the school has some you can borrow!" Tibi smiled. "That way, you don't have to wait to write to your parents!" Feeling better, Tibi reached for a clean plate, pushing his slop out of the way, and grabbed a few handfuls of food. Eating slowly, he turned back to Rayedem. "So... where are you from, anyway?" |
Quote:
Rayedem tried to recall if his mother even said anything about writing. "I think she said 'text me' or 'send me e-mails'," he chuckled. "Tannya would've been able to tell them what to do but she was never around. It's weird. My parents went to France every other month or so, but they never take me with them. When they came home they only said 'Tannya's doing great'." shrugging, he realized that all those times he had done nothing but believing them. Dad might ignore me all the time, but he loves Tannya.. They wouldn't lie. Rayedem frowned, but he couldn't hide the expression in his face. He was excited, "Really? You could use the school's owl? Wow, I didn't know that, maybe I'd write to them soon." he grinned, "I'm still gonna get an owl, though. You and yours look great together." he said, hopeful. "Noticed my accents, have you?" Rayedem chuckled. Well, he thought English accent was funny, so he didn't bother adjusting to it, "I'm from Seattle.. The USA." he told Tibi, "What about you?" |
Quote:
"Seattle? Cool." Tibi had only a vague recollection of where that was, but didn't let on. "We live just outside London. Mum's a reporter, so it helps that she's close to the city." |
Quote:
"A reporter? Wow, that's awesome. My mom's an accountant," he nodded, "dad, however, has his own company." shrugging a little, he continued, "He's never the family man. Bit of a workaholic." Rayedem repressed an urge to explode and start rambling about him. He glanced around for a moment, scanning the great hall. There weren't a lot of people there. Then, as he was looking around, a sudden thought came to him, "Hey, what muggle sports do you like? I think I'm gonna spend my holiday in London, you know, I'd be staying in the Leaky Cauldron and have loads of fun, and I'd even visit your place," he paused, "if.. If mom would come with me, that is." |
Quote:
"Oh, that's really cool about you coming to London. Mum's really weird about people coming by, but I could ask!" Tibi smiled brightly. FRIENDS! Over the SUMMER! "And if not, well... we can always hang out at the Leaky!" Provided someone doesn't get killed again.. that is. |
Quote:
"Well, since exercising is really important for you, and sports are a lot of fun, I think I'm gonna come over with a football. Or a basketball. Or a baseball. Whichever you prefer! Or I can bring all of them. I'm gonna teach you." he smiled, hoping Tibi was okay with all this. If Tibi hesitated, he would understand--that's what happened to him with his father, but it turns out he never regretted it anyway. He was in fact grateful. "Really? Oh, but, don't push it if she doesn't like it. I'm good at Leaky Cauldron. I'll pick you up when we want to hang out." he said reassuringly. Tibi doesn't need any more things to worry about. |
Toshi sat down at the Ravenclaw house table and poured himself a glass of milk. He raised his wand "Accio cake!" and a piece of chocolate cake flew towards him. But on its way, the cake hit a boy sitting near him on the head. TOSHI! YOU! ARE! AN! IDIOT! |
Thomas was sitting next to Toshi eating the crumbs of his eaten jam sandwich until he heard a squishi sound next to him. He looked over Toshi's back and Raydem's hair brown with dark chocolate. He shrugged his shoulders prtending not to care even though it was hilarious. He patted Toshi on the shoulder and said sweetly with a smile, "Toshi." |
Quote:
Someone patted his shoulder and he looked up. "Hey Thomas...er...how are you d..." He stopped. Why did his friends always have to see him while he was in an embarassing situation like this? Toshi, you still are as clumsy as in your first year... He looked over at the boy he had hit. "Mate? You allright? I`m sorry..." |
James pushed open the doors to the Great Hall and turned toward the second table to his left. He sat down in a vacant bench and began piling his plate with food. He stretched his arms and then reached for a goblet of pumpkin juice. Sipping it slightly, his eyes scanned the Ravenclaw table, searching for a friend. Failing to find one, he shrugged and began eating a sandwhich. |
Camryn walked into The Great Hall. Face in a book, my feet guided me to the Ravenclaw table. I reached out and started grabbing foods and placing them upon my plate. Grabbing the handle to the pumpkin juice I poured myself a small amount, eyes never leaving my book. |
Michelle walked over to the ravenclaw table with a book in her hand. She looked around for her friends Bonnie, Laura, Bella or Ray, but found none. Shrugging, she put the book down, took a seat at the table and served herself some mango juice. |
LeapFrog =) Edem re-entered the Great Hall, taking a break from classes, starving as usual. Walking towards his House table, he could see that it was rather quiet and empty compared to other houses'. He thought stupidly of Ravenclaw's most valued characteristic, intelligence, and that maybe the students would rather go to the library than to the Great Hall. Probably chewing knowledge instead of food. But why wasn't he? Well, he was hungry. Enough said. He sat down on the edge of the table, hoping his iPod could work, but no matter how many times he'd tried, it just wouldn't. Sighing, he pulled a random plate towards him, but only stared at it with a fork on his right hand. He missed muggle music. Oh well. He put down the fork and pushed the plate aside. Pressing his fingers against the table, he pretended he was playing his favorite classical song on the piano. That wasn't the first time that he did so. |
ooc: stupid time difference Quote:
"'Lo!" she said politely to the boy seated next to her. She started piling mashed potatoes and biscuits onto her plate. Reaching for a drumstick, she noticed a strange object placed on the table. It was some sort of rectangular object with some sort of two pronged string leading out of it. Ellie had lived a very sheltered life from muggles on her family's farm. She knew nothing about muggles, which made Muggle Studies all the more challenging. "What is that? she marveled, placing the chicken leg atop her pile of potatoes. |
Jack was starving. He made his way over to the Ravie table, sitting close to a few others. Noticing an iPod on the table, he said to the owner, 'That isn't going to work, mate. Don't I wish. I have the same problem with my electric guitar. Have to leave it at home. Major Bummer!' Jack loaded up his plate and started to eat. Gone were the days when meals were taken at a leisurely pace. Too much to do...to little time. |

Linda saw Chelle too.She said 'Hey Michelle, hope you remember me.' |
"Anyone seen Victoria Jamieson ?" Jason asks the RavenClaws eating. "She is my girlfreind and I wanted to surprise her by eating with her" Jason said to them. |
sorry, I've been away =( Quote:
The song playing in Edem's head suddenly stopped when he heard a voice of a girl. Someone unfamiliar.. He looked up to see who it was. Hmm, time to stop playing Mike Shinoda, it seemed. He pulled back the plate which he had pushed over. Returning the girl's friendly greeting, he said, "Hey," he smiled at the girl, then straightened up his sitting position so that he wouldn't be in the girl's way when she was filling her plate with food. She wasn't quite like his muggle friends back at school who always eat so little because they were stupidly afraid of gaining weight. But what did she say? Oh.. Edem's iPod was still on the table. He picked it up, "You mean this? Well.. It's called iPod. It plays music. Sucks though, it would never work for me." he sighed. "Have I seen you before?" Quote:
"I didn't know that when I first took it to school," he looked miserably at his iPod. It didn't even want to turn on. "Hey, so you play electric guitar? That's cool! I.. I play the acoustic." he said, blushing, afraid he might have said too much of unimportant things. |
Quote:
Jack continued, 'Both my dad and grampa were in bands, so I'm going to be in one, too. I just wish I had more time to play. At least I have my acoustic here...and my sticks,' he said, whipping out his drumsticks and playing a little taradittle on the table and putting them away. 'Couldn't bring a piano, so I have to conjure one when I want to practice.' Jack went back to eating with gusto. Some much to do and so little time.... |

Virgi skipped into the great hall happily. When she sat down she didn't see anyone she knew so she just started to eat hoping someone she knew would come in. |
Quote:
Her tiny stomach rumbled. Bonnie's eye grabbed Virgi. "Hey Virgi!" she called sitting down beside the girl and grabbing food. |

She pulled out a small notepad and placed it next to the iPod. "I mean look at that! It's smaller than my notebook! A Wizard's Wireless for your pocket! And speakers for your ears!" she said, gleefully, pointing at the earbuds. "Pity it doesn't work," she shrugged, tracing her finger on the small circle on the device. "So what stations do you get?" she asked, confusing the iPod for a radio. There wasn't an exact equivalent for wizards. "From what I've heard, muggle things don't work here. Too much magic, or something," she said, taking a large spoonful of pudding and shoving it in her mouth. Etiquette wasn't the farmgirl's strong suit. She realized she hadn't yet been aquainted with the boy she was sitting beside. "Don't think so... I'm Ellie," she said, taking the boy's hand a shaking it furiously. She was unfamiliar with most customs, but handshaking she felt she had gotten the grasp of. |

Edem chuckled in delight when he realized he'd met a fellow musician. He was nothing close to professional, but music, it was his passion. Well, basketball came first, but so far he hadn't met any basketball person. It was always exciting for Edem to learn about other's personalities. "How do you conjure a piano?" he asked out of curiosity; his fingers were itching to play. "Is it some advanced magic, or can I do it too?" he saw that the Prefect seemed as if he was in a rush, but he couldn't help the excitement. Quote:
Edem swallowed, then said, "Yeah, it's small," he began, "but there are also bigger ones, depends on how much memory they have.." he paused, suspecting that maybe the girl wouldn't understand what he meant. Muggle terms did confuse some of his friends. "Stations?" Edem raised his eyebrows. iPods aren't radios. Whispering a small 'oh', he realized what the girl might be thinking. "Oh, no, it's not a radio. See, you've got a selection of songs, you don't tune in anywhere, you download the songs yourself." he stopped again wondering if the girl would understand the term 'download'. Then the girl started tracing her finger on the click wheel. If it was turned on, the screen would've lit up--Edem wondered how the girl would react to that. Then he felt his hand was being jerked from its position and shaken with perhaps too much force. Okay, what's wrong with this girl? When he was finally released from the girl's strong grasp, his eyes widened. He certainly had never met anyone who shook his hand so energetically. "I'm Ede--Rayedem," he said smiling, "but, er.. You can call me by other names." Oh, yes, of course. This girl should never, ever sound like one of his teacher. |
Hannah walked into the great Hall, her eyes scanning the room for familiar faces. She walked over to the Ravenclaw Table, after being kept at home for so long, her parents wanted her home. She sat down and looked around her. "Hello." she said, smiling to the person beside her. |
This was sad. She'd not seen nor heard from Miles in a couple of days and now she was growing worried. She was bound and determined to corner the poor soul at one point or another and tell him not to worry about anything, if that's why he was hiding from her. MERLIN'S BEARD! He'd never done that before! She was not happy and now she was in search of him. |
Miles had snuck down to the Great Hall before everyone and was trying to eat in a hurry before Fia got there. He'd been avoiding her like the plague since that...incident in the pumpkin patch. It had been fantastic really. He had gone up to the common room grinning but slightly scared to death. What had he just done? Looking around he shoveled food into his mouth when he heard the door open and looked over his shoulder. DRAT. Seems her will to find him was just as strong as his to avoid her. Bracing himself he turned back around pretending not to notice but preparing himself for a speech of something. She was with THEO!!! Way to go knucklehead. Even he couldn't deny how he was feeling about Fia now and it was...weird. |
Fia walked over to the Ravenclaw table and took a seat next to Miles. She pressed her back against the table while her feet were in the aisle. Others had to walk around her if they wanted to get past the big feet. She rested her elbows on the table, getting comfortable while Scaredy Cat shoveled food into his mouth. "Slow down, Miles," she said as she was trying to keep things...casual. "Someone is going to think you are...nervous about something." It was good to keep things simple in the beginning because she was READY to lay into why he was doing the disappearing act on her. |
Miles swallowed and tried his best to hide his nervousness about her being there. As she sat down next to him and watched him eat he glanced at her and shook his head, "'m ot ervous bout aything...ust hungry," he said through a mouthful of food and turned to look at her. Swallowing he grinned, "Where've you been?" Yes that's right she's been hiding from him! Perfect excuse! Or...not... |
Her smile faded. Was he serious? Was that question meant to be answered or was she meant to smack him back into reality? "Hello! Miles! You in there?" She began lightly poking his head, not making fun just showing that he was acting alll weird. "I've been looking for you. I've been around. I think you need to contact Ivan and ask him what to do next." And cue the crossing of the arms to the chest and the head and eyes looking elsewhere and away from Miles. |
Miles winced and held up his hands as Fia started poking his head, "Well he won't be if you keep poking him...." He set his fork down and turned toward her as she spoke in time to see her turn away from him and cross her arms. "What to do next?" he asked puzzled though in his head he was kicking himself. IVAN. Why hadn't he thought of that. He would know...right? Though he might make fun of him for asking. Well it could be worth a shot right? Hey Ivan just wandering what do you do when you like...say your best friend and she likes someone else? Ugh. He was doomed. He would just laugh and say something smart most likely. |
Did he not get it? Did she have to spell it out? GAH! Boys were soooooo confusing! She didn't know how she could handle this much longer. Did he or DIDN'T he like her? She thought he did. "Yeah...what to do next." She soooo did NOT want to spell that one out. GAH! |
Emily skipped into the great hall, her stomach grumbling. "lalala" she sang on her way to the ravenclaw table. She hopped over the bench and sat down merrily "hello all!" she called up and down the table as she happily grabbed a slice of toast and put some cheese on it. It was supper but they had toast and she liked toast so she would very well have some toast. Munching down on the toast she heard a recognizable hoot. Looking up her family elf owl was swooping down, it had three envelopes in it's beak. The top two were regular white envelopes, one was obviously a muggle envelope the other was parchment, but the third she could see a red envelope was it a howler? she hadn't done anything wrong she thought. As the owl swooped down it landed in front of Emily and dropped the envelopes and hooted impatiently. Emily gave him the corner of her toast and he took it and flew off up towards the owlry. When emily looked closely at the red envelope she found that it was not a howler but a handmade envelope from her friend Kaimy. The white muggle envelope was from her grandmother in canada (which had been forwarded by her mother of course) and the parchment envelope was from her mother, she would read them all later when she wasn't at the table. |
Hannah turned to see Emily. "Hello. I haven't seen you before. Mam and dad pulled me out for a bit, so I've missed out on a lot." She rambled on. "I'm Hannah." she said, holding out her hand to her. |

Bouncing over to his house table, JD spots the box next to the tree, as Masterson had said would be there. Looking down into the box, he grins, pulling out ribbons, lights and ornaments. Picking up one of the wreathes in the box, he puts it on his head, digging through the box some more. The wreathe dangling crookedly on his head, over one eyebrow, he pulls out a string of gold and blue lights. Starting at about the middle, which was as high as he could reach really, he starts setting them on the branches. |

"Hey would you like some help?" she said with a blank but pleasant face asking the unfamiliar Ravvie. "We could use a levitating spell to place everything up on the top when we get the bottom decorated." she said the suggestion as more of an outloud thought as she glanced up at the huge tree. In her head she could imagine a giant picking it for them. She grabbed a string of blue and white lights and started stringing them along the branches. Then she flicked her wand to create a blue glitter across the branches of the tree. |
Quote:
Levitating spell? Oh boy.... he thinks fingering his wand. The memory of his hem catching fire when he tried lumos, and the pumpkin doing somersaults when he tried the levitation charm, was too fresh in his mind. "Um, maybe you can do the levitating, the items on the tree. I'll do the bottom branches. How's that?" he asks with a grin. He sure wasn't about to set the tree on fire, as with the corn stalks in the maze. And he certainly didn't want to tangle all the lights and tinsel into huge knots if they did somersaults. |
Satine smiled for the first time a few days as she started decorating the tree. "Yes, I love the Christmas season...it's as if everything is perfect and everyone gets along and is happy to be together." she said more to herself than to her new friend...."O by the way, I'm Satine." she said with a wink towards the younger boy. Noticing his hesitation about levitating, she smiled again, "Well, that sounds like a good idea." she flicked her wand at a beautiful tree topper that was sparkling with the Ravvie crest on. The crest flew up into the air and landed on the top of the tree that was slowly becoming the most beautiful and festive tree in the room. |

"Great!" he says with a grin, as he finishes placing the lights around the tree. Picking up the blue tinsel, he starts going around the tree again. "This will be the best tree in the Great Hall!" |

Grinning at her, as she made glitter shimmer down on them, he nods making some of the glitter fall from the wreathe on his head. "That is the best part. I can't wait to go home for a few weeks." MMmmmm, corn bread stuffing, sweet potatoes, stuffing... just thinking about the delicious foods, makes his tummy rumble. Grabbing a couple candy canes from the bowl, he offers one to Satine, and unwraps the other sticking it into his mouth. |

She glanced up at the tree.... Tree "Well what do you think?" she asked her new friend as she stepped back and put her hands on hips to take in the whole picture. |

Looking up at the tree, as he put the last gold bulb on the tree, he stands back to admire it as well. "Very nice! I think we make a good team." he adds with a grin. |

Muggle Studies homework #2; picture #2 Tiberius had settled down at the table for a bite to eat when he looked up toward the staff table and saw a bunch of students playing with trees. Some were up on ladders and others were decorating from the floor. Smiling - he loved Christmas trees - Tibi took his camera out of his bag and backed up. He had to get the entire front in the shot. Satisfied with what he could see in the viewfinder, Tibi took the picture, hoping the flash wouldn't distract anyone. |

Anyone is welcomed to join! <33 Cold, pale and tired. It was a typical day for Jule at Hogwarts. Holidays were sadly over and she now had to focus on school work. Like if she ever did. She walked in to the Great Hall, her curly, long brown hair, swaying as she walked. her hair never stood in one place, so Jule would usually wear a hat. But no hat today, nothing to do outside anyway. She walked towards the house table and sat down. Jule ruffled her hair and gather some food, as she looked around. She saw other students, mostly Firsties, chatting and laughing together. Where was Laura or Izzy Bella when she needed them? |
Keeley dragged herself into the great hall, fresh from a lesson of DADA. She was tired and a little lonely, not knowing where the heck Bella was at the moment. She looked up at the beautiful Christmas decorations, they were spectacular! But, they didn't brighten her mood at all, it meant she would soon be towed back home- no, not home. Hogwarts was home, that place was not! She turned her hair a dull blue, matching her mood perfectly. Plopping down at the table, she looked around the table for someone to talk to. |
__________________________________________________ _____________________________________ Back from getting her pink fuzzy sweater from the ravenclaw common room, Bella was still a little cold from the Quiditch lesson. Oh, she saw Keeley and some other faces. "Oh hello,"said Bella taking a seat at the ravenclaw table, then put down her book she had lost earlier. Ooooo she was almost done with it! ok back to reality- "So what did you think of Quiditch practice today?" she asked the students that were in the class. |
Nia slid into a seat at the Ravenclaw table, book in her right hand. Actually, the book wasn't just in her right hand, it was held open with her little finger and thumb, and she was reading it intently. It was a habit she'd taken to recently. When sat comfortably, glanced around the table and put some food on her plate. Satisfied with her rather large portion of chicken stew and dumplings (well, she had quidditch practice later) Nia turned the page, picked up her fork and began to eat. It might be a slow process, eating with one hand, but she'd been waiting to read this book awhile. |
Elan, after having wandered the castle aimlessly, found himself back in the great hall. He looked around, a slightly expressionless look to his eyes and saw a familiar figure hunched over her bowl, with a book in hand. That was something he knew, something he was comfortable seeing. He walked, no...more like shuffled over to the table and tapped her on the shoulder and asked if he could sit down in what could only be described as a voice like one who faced death. |
Nia was totally in her element, taking occasional bites and absorbing the story. And then someone had the audacity to tap on her shoulder. She finished her page slowly, and got ready to glare at whoever is was that was disturbing her (especially if it was Theo - couldn't they see she was busy?). It was as she slowly tore her eyes from the book however, Nia realised it wasn't in fact Theo, or anyone else annoying, but Elan. Her face softened as she marked her page, before her expression turned to worry as she focused on him properly. It was his voice that shook her though. There was something cold and distant about it. Swallowing slowly, Nia nodded, and started to gesture for a hug. Would that actually help though? She left the choice to him, and left her arms hovering. "What's happened?" she asked, a frown of worry etched on to her face. "You don't look too good..." |

Okayyyyy, that wasn't what Nia was expecting. Somehow Elan was now fallen across her and was crying. She bit her lip, wondering what to do. Without knowing what had happened, it was a bit difficult to know where to start. All she knew was that something terrible had obviously happened. Where, why and who she wasn't sure she was going to find out very quickly. And this was the next issue. Nia wasn't good with crying. She'd learnt to get past Theo's constant crying by teasing him, but she'd grown up now, and knew that wasn't acceptable. She just, well, wasn't good with extreme emotion. And seeing Elan crying was just that. But more so, because she cared for him. A lot. So it hurt part of her too. Taking a deep breath, Nia stroked Elans shoulder in what she hoped what a reassuring way. "It's okay," she said softly. "I'm here for you. I'll help you." |

Nia sat there, now really unsure what to do. He didn't seem to react at all. Well, at least now visibly from Nia's point of view. She continued to rub his shoulders, hoping if nothing else it might have a relaxing effect. Nia might be good on the quidditch pitch or in class, but at this minute she felt completely out of her depth. Leaning across to eat a spoonful of stew - despite the fact she no longer seemed hungry - Nia looked down at Elan in her lap. He'd given no clues what was up, and she wondering whether if he had wanted to find her, or just stumbled across her by chance. "Elan?" she whispered. "Elan? I want to help. Please tell me what's wrong." |
Hannah turned when she heard someone crying and her blue, concerned eyes found Nia and Elan. She got up and moved over to them and knelt besid Elan. "Are you okay?" she asked gently. |
For Cat, Kat and Phil *shifty* Adrienne had gotten to the Great Hall early, simply because she expected the packages to arrive and, given what had happened before when Ainsley had gotten her half, she wanted to intecept them before they raised too many questions. Like, why were two girls getting so many packages almost at the same time. Stuff like that. So there she sat, her feet, clad in simple Tory Burch flats, tucked under the bench, sipping some pumpkin juice and waiting. She was saved having to wait much longer by the arrival of the post owls, and her blue eyes calmly followed the first couple owls winging toward her with a nondesript package, making sure her glass was well away from where they dropped it, followed by several more. She contemplated trying to figure out how to send a message to the other three, letting them know, but in the same respect, odds are they'd have to eat breakfast too, so they'd show up at some point. She just had to look unsuspicious until then. |
With a yawn, Ainsley entered the Great Hall having woken up and made her way downstairs for breakfast. Walking down an aisle and heading towards her house's table, she was about to sit down on an empty bench when she spotted a few owls enter with packages. The Gryffindor watched each's path and findin out that one headed towards a familiar face, she stopped from sitting and walked over to the Ravenclaw table just as the owl was joined by others with similar packages. "On to round two," she replied quietly as she took a seat besides Adrienne, givin the appearance of just being a friend of the girl's from another house. |
Quote:
"You ready?," she then asked, knowing that the second round of deliveries meant their plan was going to be put into action sooner than later. Which was good, because then they could get things over with and Copernicus's second wave could take place. |
Miles sat down at his own house table with a sigh. This wasn't the way it was supposed to be. He wasn't supposed to be mad at Fia but he was. She had been out of line and what was worse is she didn't realize it or just chose to ignore it. And Brody didn't help any at all. Pulling a plate toward him he stared down at it blankly not feeling hungry and instead put his head down on his arms on top of the table with a sigh. Things just plain sucked. Twirling his finger around and around in a circle he watched as a fork followed the same pattern idly. |
Fia walked into the Great Hall. She'd been coming in here all day long and yet, he still wasn't here. He had to eat sometime and...there he was, sitting at the Ravenclaw table. She walked up behind Miles with a pitiful look on her face. She was more than sorry for her actions but she didn't like having him mad at her. She cleared her throat. "Miles?" She didn't know if he wanted to talk to her or not so she was going to tread carefully. |

SPOILER!!: Quotes When Kiri entered the Great Hall two days later, she headed straight for the Ravenclaw table. As they'd expected, Adrienne's boxes had arrived. The girl was almost hidden behind the large amount of rectangular objects, plainly wrapped as instructed. Ainsley was there as well. Perfect... Kiri knelt down on the bench opposite Adrienne and Ainsley so that she was able to look over the top of the boxes. "This is the second batch, right?" she asked flatly. No answer was necessary, it was obvious from the looks on Adrienne and Ainsley's faces. Kiri nodded, an evil glint in her eye. "Good," she stated forcefully. "I'll help you carry them up to your common room. Reese and I hid the other ones in our dormitory." She drummed her fingers on the table for a moment. Then, apparently coming to a decision, she said, quietly, "I think we should do it tonight. I'm sick of waiting, I want to do something!" Kiri glanced at the staff table and snorted derisively. "We need to show people we're not happy with how things are being done here. Come on." Kiri picked up several of the boxes. In her normal state of mind, she was not a big fan of physical exercise (unless it meant carrying books around, maybe), but now she was holding the boxes with a look of grim determination on her face. |
