When my time comes, forget the wrongs that I--what?

The song playing in Edem's head suddenly stopped when he heard a voice of a girl. Someone unfamiliar.. He looked up to see who it was. Hmm, time to stop playing Mike Shinoda, it seemed. He pulled back the plate which he had pushed over. Returning the girl's friendly greeting, he said,

"Hey," he smiled at the girl, then straightened up his sitting position so that he wouldn't be in the girl's way when she was filling her plate with food. She wasn't quite like his muggle friends back at school who always eat so little because they were stupidly afraid of gaining weight. But what did she say? Oh.. Edem's iPod was still on the table. He picked it up, "You mean this? Well.. It's called iPod. It plays music. Sucks though, it would never work for me." he sighed. "Have I seen you before?"

Edem turned his head to yet another new voice. Someone who looked much older, but he was sure he was familiar with the guy--the PREFECT? Okay, Prefects had done a good job in scaring him, but it's been better since Tammy--and the guy seemed nice, too, so.. Did he say electric guitar? Edem shook his head.

"I didn't know that when I first took it to school," he looked miserably at his iPod. It didn't even want to turn on. "Hey, so you play electric guitar? That's cool! I.. I play the acoustic." he said, blushing, afraid he might have said too much of unimportant things.

'Yeah, nothin' with batteries works here and there's no electricity, so were pretty much done for in that area. There's always the Wizarding Wireless...' Jack said after swallowing. Not polite to talk with you mouth full...I know mom.

Jack continued, 'Both my dad and grampa were in bands, so I'm going to be in one, too. I just wish I had more time to play. At least I have my acoustic here...and my sticks,' he said, whipping out his drumsticks and playing a little taradittle on the table and putting them away. 'Couldn't bring a piano, so I have to conjure one when I want to practice.'

Jack went back to eating with gusto. Some much to do and so little time....

" Hello, my name is Jason Potter Weasley" he told her. " The book you are reading must be very interesting" Jason said to her. " How is your food?" Jason asked her.

Virgi skipped into the great hall happily. When she sat down she didn't see anyone she knew so she just started to eat hoping someone she knew would come in.

Bonnie took large steps into the great hall.
Her tiny stomach rumbled.
Bonnie's eye grabbed Virgi.
"Hey Virgi!" she called sitting down beside the girl and grabbing food.

Ellie marveled at the strange device. She was shocked at how small it was. All the wizard's wireless's she'd seen were much larger in size, nothing that could fit comfortably in the pocket. "That's mad..." she said, eyes wide.

She pulled out a small notepad and placed it next to the iPod. "I mean look at that! It's smaller than my notebook! A Wizard's Wireless for your pocket! And speakers for your ears!" she said, gleefully, pointing at the earbuds.

"Pity it doesn't work," she shrugged, tracing her finger on the small circle on the device. "So what stations do you get?" she asked, confusing the iPod for a radio. There wasn't an exact equivalent for wizards. "From what I've heard, muggle things don't work here. Too much magic, or something," she said, taking a large spoonful of pudding and shoving it in her mouth. Etiquette wasn't the farmgirl's strong suit.

She realized she hadn't yet been aquainted with the boy she was sitting beside. "Don't think so... I'm Ellie," she said, taking the boy's hand a shaking it furiously. She was unfamiliar with most customs, but handshaking she felt she had gotten the grasp of.

Edem listened carefully to the Prefect's explanation. No electricity? He's noticed that everything in the castle was lit by candles, but seriously, no electricity at all? How did they cook the food? Can the house elves do magic too? Brilliant. People here survive the primitive way. Suddenly he recalled his history lessons.. How the people live before Faraday.

Edem chuckled in delight when he realized he'd met a fellow musician. He was nothing close to professional, but music, it was his passion. Well, basketball came first, but so far he hadn't met any basketball person. It was always exciting for Edem to learn about other's personalities.

"How do you conjure a piano?" he asked out of curiosity; his fingers were itching to play. "Is it some advanced magic, or can I do it too?" he saw that the Prefect seemed as if he was in a rush, but he couldn't help the excitement.

Edem leaned himself backwards as the girl was marveling at his iPod. Things like this always made him feel awkward, but.. He recalled his discussion at the Three Broomsticks with Evan. Maybe this is what he missed, he thought. Taking a deep breath and holding it in his lungs, he sat back upright, trying to ignore the fact that he was rather close to the girl. Girls aren't germs.

Edem swallowed, then said, "Yeah, it's small," he began, "but there are also bigger ones, depends on how much memory they have.." he paused, suspecting that maybe the girl wouldn't understand what he meant. Muggle terms did confuse some of his friends.

"Stations?" Edem raised his eyebrows. iPods aren't radios. Whispering a small 'oh', he realized what the girl might be thinking. "Oh, no, it's not a radio. See, you've got a selection of songs, you don't tune in anywhere, you download the songs yourself." he stopped again wondering if the girl would understand the term 'download'. Then the girl started tracing her finger on the click wheel. If it was turned on, the screen would've lit up--Edem wondered how the girl would react to that.

Then he felt his hand was being jerked from its position and shaken with perhaps too much force. Okay, what's wrong with this girl? When he was finally released from the girl's strong grasp, his eyes widened. He certainly had never met anyone who shook his hand so energetically. "I'm Ede--Rayedem," he said smiling, "but, er.. You can call me by other names." Oh, yes, of course. This girl should never, ever sound like one of his teacher.

Hannah walked into the great Hall, her eyes scanning the room for familiar faces. She walked over to the Ravenclaw Table, after being kept at home for so long, her parents wanted her home. She sat down and looked around her. "Hello." she said, smiling to the person beside her.

This was sad. She'd not seen nor heard from Miles in a couple of days and now she was growing worried. She was bound and determined to corner the poor soul at one point or another and tell him not to worry about anything, if that's why he was hiding from her. MERLIN'S BEARD! He'd never done that before! She was not happy and now she was in search of him.

Miles had snuck down to the Great Hall before everyone and was trying to eat in a hurry before Fia got there. He'd been avoiding her like the plague since that...incident in the pumpkin patch. It had been fantastic really. He had gone up to the common room grinning but slightly scared to death. What had he just done? Looking around he shoveled food into his mouth when he heard the door open and looked over his shoulder. DRAT. Seems her will to find him was just as strong as his to avoid her. Bracing himself he turned back around pretending not to notice but preparing himself for a speech of something. She was with THEO!!! Way to go knucklehead. Even he couldn't deny how he was feeling about Fia now and it was...weird.

Fia walked over to the Ravenclaw table and took a seat next to Miles. She pressed her back against the table while her feet were in the aisle. Others had to walk around her if they wanted to get past the big feet. She rested her elbows on the table, getting comfortable while Scaredy Cat shoveled food into his mouth.

"Slow down, Miles," she said as she was trying to keep things...casual. "Someone is going to think you are...nervous about something." It was good to keep things simple in the beginning because she was READY to lay into why he was doing the disappearing act on her.

Miles swallowed and tried his best to hide his nervousness about her being there. As she sat down next to him and watched him eat he glanced at her and shook his head, "'m ot ervous bout aything...ust hungry," he said through a mouthful of food and turned to look at her. Swallowing he grinned, "Where've you been?" Yes that's right she's been hiding from him! Perfect excuse! Or...not...

Her smile faded. Was he serious? Was that question meant to be answered or was she meant to smack him back into reality? "Hello! Miles! You in there?" She began lightly poking his head, not making fun just showing that he was acting alll weird. "I've been looking for you. I've been around. I think you need to contact Ivan and ask him what to do next." And cue the crossing of the arms to the chest and the head and eyes looking elsewhere and away from Miles.

Miles winced and held up his hands as Fia started poking his head, "Well he won't be if you keep poking him...." He set his fork down and turned toward her as she spoke in time to see her turn away from him and cross her arms. "What to do next?" he asked puzzled though in his head he was kicking himself. IVAN. Why hadn't he thought of that. He would know...right? Though he might make fun of him for asking. Well it could be worth a shot right? Hey Ivan just wandering what do you do when you like...say your best friend and she likes someone else? Ugh. He was doomed. He would just laugh and say something smart most likely.

Did he not get it? Did she have to spell it out? GAH! Boys were soooooo confusing! She didn't know how she could handle this much longer. Did he or DIDN'T he like her? She thought he did. "Yeah...what to do next." She soooo did NOT want to spell that one out. GAH!

Emily skipped into the great hall, her stomach grumbling. "lalala" she sang on her way to the ravenclaw table. She hopped over the bench and sat down merrily "hello all!" she called up and down the table as she happily grabbed a slice of toast and put some cheese on it. It was supper but they had toast and she liked toast so she would very well have some toast. Munching down on the toast she heard a recognizable hoot. Looking up her family elf owl was swooping down, it had three envelopes in it's beak. The top two were regular white envelopes, one was obviously a muggle envelope the other was parchment, but the third she could see a red envelope was it a howler? she hadn't done anything wrong she thought. As the owl swooped down it landed in front of Emily and dropped the envelopes and hooted impatiently. Emily gave him the corner of her toast and he took it and flew off up towards the owlry. When emily looked closely at the red envelope she found that it was not a howler but a handmade envelope from her friend Kaimy. The white muggle envelope was from her grandmother in canada (which had been forwarded by her mother of course) and the parchment envelope was from her mother, she would read them all later when she wasn't at the table.

Hannah turned to see Emily. "Hello. I haven't seen you before. Mam and dad pulled me out for a bit, so I've missed out on a lot." She rambled on. "I'm Hannah." she said, holding out her hand to her.

eMILY took hannah's hand "pleasure to meet you hannah" emily said "it's funny how whenever you want something to eat they usually have whatever it is you want" emily said as she reached for another piece of toast. She spread butter on it and munched it down.

Bouncing over to his house table, JD spots the box next to the tree, as Masterson had said would be there. Looking down into the box, he grins, pulling out ribbons, lights and ornaments.

Picking up one of the wreathes in the box, he puts it on his head, digging through the box some more. The wreathe dangling crookedly on his head, over one eyebrow, he pulls out a string of gold and blue lights.

Starting at about the middle, which was as high as he could reach really, he starts setting them on the branches.

Satine headed over the Ravie table and was relieved to see someone else working on the tree as well. Quickly glancing into the box, she checks to see what decorations they have to work with.

"Hey would you like some help?" she said with a blank but pleasant face asking the unfamiliar Ravvie.

"We could use a levitating spell to place everything up on the top when we get the bottom decorated." she said the suggestion as more of an outloud thought as she glanced up at the huge tree. In her head she could imagine a giant picking it for them.

She grabbed a string of blue and white lights and started stringing them along the branches. Then she flicked her wand to create a blue glitter across the branches of the tree.

Looking up as a slightly older student came over to their table and started digging in the box too. "Hi! Don't you just love Christmas decorating?" he exclaims with a big silly grin on his face. The wreathe hat dangling slightly over one eye.

Levitating spell? Oh boy.... he thinks fingering his wand. The memory of his hem catching fire when he tried lumos, and the pumpkin doing somersaults when he tried the levitation charm, was too fresh in his mind.

"Um, maybe you can do the levitating, the items on the tree. I'll do the bottom branches. How's that?" he asks with a grin. He sure wasn't about to set the tree on fire, as with the corn stalks in the maze. And he certainly didn't want to tangle all the lights and tinsel into huge knots if they did somersaults.

Satine smiled for the first time a few days as she started decorating the tree. "Yes, I love the Christmas season...it's as if everything is perfect and everyone gets along and is happy to be together." she said more to herself than to her new friend...."O by the way, I'm Satine." she said with a wink towards the younger boy.

Noticing his hesitation about levitating, she smiled again, "Well, that sounds like a good idea." she flicked her wand at a beautiful tree topper that was sparkling with the Ravvie crest on. The crest flew up into the air and landed on the top of the tree that was slowly becoming the most beautiful and festive tree in the room.

She laughed a little nodding. "Yeah, that's true." she nodded, picking out an apple and taking a bite from it.

Seeing the smile Satine gave, he smiles back. I love those kind of smiles that light up your whole face... he thinks fondly to himself. "I'm JD. I love Christmas, too! Especially when Santa comes." he comments, thinking about those elves still. He still wonders if the elves in the kitchen are Santa's elves. He still didn't quite believe Ellie...

"Great!" he says with a grin, as he finishes placing the lights around the tree. Picking up the blue tinsel, he starts going around the tree again. "This will be the best tree in the Great Hall!"

Satine smiled as the young boy introduced himself and then mentioned Santa. "Well it's great to meet you JD..." she said and was relieved that she was feeling herself and not cloudy like she had...."I absolutely love when Santa comes and I'm happy that I found someone who's family celebrates that too....lots of the students here their families don't celebrate Santa...but it's the best part...." she paused because she knew she was rushing through her words with excitement..."but my favorite part is all of teh cooking when I go home...It is just heaven!" she said with a flick of her wand making glitter shimmer down on them.
