Lucy got down on her hands and knees and began crawling around the floor, looking for someone she might know. Tammy? Torin? ANYONE? Is anyone even here? Where'd they gooooo? Lucy casually popped up between cliques, and then groups of people who didn't know each other and...well, it was all a waste considering none of them really had any facial similarities to the people she knew. Oh, boy. This was going to be difficult. Such a long table with a bajillion people to look through...BLAAAAH. This is not going to be fun. But then again, crawling was kind of fun.

Crawling: Something Lucy needs to take off her list of cool things to do while bored. Because crawling, it seems, is not socially acceptable nor is it civilized behavior when you're fifteen, and a fifth-year witch at Hogwarts. It was probably considered STUPID. But Lucy wasn't stupid!! Gawsh...and she wasn't mental or anything...just bored. DUUUUUUH.

Lucy continued to crawl on, looking for familiar faces, pausing every once in while when her knees and/or hands got tired or began hurting. This floor...is REALLY hard. And uncomfortable. Blah.

Kita looked around and saw a boy who looked younger than her sitting alone. She felt so sorry for him, knowing what it felt like to be alone. She got up and was about to go when she noticed someone else there...

Kita saw another girl making friends with the lonely boy. She smiled, clearly embarrassed. Kita walked over and said "Hey! I was coming over at the same time as you did. So you're Kay! I heard someone yelling it and i was wondering who it was" she said to the girl, "I'm Kita, by the way," she added to the two of them. She smiled warmly at them, hoping she'll have some new friends and hoping the boy wasn't too sad now...

"How about you tell me," Arrick countered. Aside from Abigail's name and suspicions she was a pureblood and knew a werewolf, Arrick knew nothing else, though she might have spoken to other people around him. "You ernt said much about yourself."

"No," Arrick said suspiciously, and made a mental note to stay far away from these 'chocolate frogs'.

Hmm, she was in a normal school. But she knew a werewolf and knew magic way before he did, so he was keeping his verdict of 'pureblood'.

It was somewhat a relief to know that a good number of the odd students had been to a normal school and were brought up (mostly) normally. Still, some of them knew about magic and none of them were uneasy about it. Used to it all, perhaps. Arrick and his foster family had always been suspicious about things that weren't tangible, so that Arrick was having such a hard time adjusting wasn't surprising.

He suddenly wondered if magic school taught things like English and math. From cracking open a random textbook earlier, he was pretty sure none of them ever learned how to spell properly.

Sarah giggled as she saw the look on Nancy's face. "Your mean and I think you are so unkind." She said as she saw Nancy take out her wand she was scared when she did that but Nancy just seemed to be cleaning herself off. "You missed a bit." She giggled as she continued to hide under the table.

Sarah heard Nancy hiss for her to get out from under the table. "You realy think I'm coming out with you in that mood?" She giggled. "I ain't coming out until you calm down or until Steven comes here and tells you off, for scareing me."

Sarah saw someone crawling her way. "Hello." She smiled as she saw this other girl. "I'm Sarah." She smiled. "What you doing down here?" She asked. "I'm hiding, my hair is a mess and I don't want people to see it like it is, I got pie all over it." She sighed.

Pie? PIE? What was pie doing in her hair? EWWWWWW!! PIE!! Lucy shuffled back and looked at the girl's...well, her name was Sarah...but the point is, she looked at Sarah's hair in disgust. Who in their right mind would dip their hair in PIE? Yuck. That's going to be all sticky and yucky and ewwwwie. And the pie? INEDIBLE!! GROSS!! CONTAMINATED!! LACED WITH GEEEEEERRRRMMMSSSS!! Thankfully, she didn't have any pie tonight. That...would have been weird. Lucy eyed her hair, and then looked back at Sarah's face.

"I'm Lucy Dawn...why do you have PIE in you HAAAAAIR?" Yuuuuuuuuucccccckkkkkk!! "That's a little weird, don't you think? I didn't know pie was a good for washing one's hair...or using it as a hair decorator thing." Maybe she messed up and it was supposed to look a lot prettier? But really...pie? How does pie make one's hair look sleek and shiny and puuurrrdy? IMPOSSIBLE!! She lies...wait, she didn't say anything yet. Sigh. Lucy gave into the fact that her assumptions might not be true, but still...she eyed her hair carefully, and kept her distance to the Pie-Hair girl.

Theodore was on the way towards someone's table that wasn't Slytherin's. Since his table had the stuck up brothers. Maybe his sister would be on the Ravenclaw table. Nah she wouldn't want to speak with him. Since she hated him like always.

His eyes widened as he saw one of his friends. He had a friend. But she was with that Miles. Oh well he could still go say hi. He stood behind her, rocking on his heels. He took a deep breath and tapped her on the shoulder, "Hi Fia." He smiled at her and gave her a little wave.

"Oh bother" Sarah sighed. "I think that you should have some pie." Smiled Sarah, she wondered if the girl would mind having a pie in the face, well maybe she would with the way she was acting about a little pie in the hair. "I pied someone and then they pied me back, we were having fun." Giggled Sarah. "I think you would love the smell of the Pie in your hair."

Nancy had not yet put her wand away as she tried her best to give back some volume to her hair while glancing in the spoon-mirror she held with her right hand. It would be horrible if she had to go around like that with her hair all...eep! She had spotted the bit of pie Sarah had just pointed out still clutching tightly to a strand of her dark-blonde hair. How could she have missed that?! "Ew!!" She half-shrieked as she tilted the spoon a little to the left before raising her wand again, her hand slightly shaking, and sent another Cleansing Charm her hair's way.

However, the Fifth Year wasn't able to see if it had actually reached its intended destination as right then Sarah chose to answer between giggles which made Nancy forget about her hair for a moment and turn back to glare at the Hufflepuff girl. "If not, I'm going to make you come out." She muttered more to herself than to Sarah as her eyes wandered up and down the table in search for something which would surely have the girl come out from her hiding place. Aka, some more pie. Hehe...

Upon spotting some down the table she decided to wait for another few moments, maybe it would come Sarah's way some other way than by throwing it herself. She was quite certain that she had seen Peeves floating around somewhere. Turning her attention back to her reflection in the spoon and therefore her hair Nancy gave Sarah one last smirk, her blue eyes twinkling dangerously. "Oh, you sure Steven would be on your side?" She inquired sweetly with an almost pitying smile on her lips before returning to run a hand through her hair.

Eeeeppppp!.

Fia heard her name and felt a gentle tap on her shoulder. Please be him. Please be him., she thougt to herself with her eyes closed tight. As if she were doing everythig in slow motion, she turned around to find the familiar Slytherin speaking to her.

Her green eyes light up followed by a bright smile. "Theo," she said his name happily and inched closer to Miles, her best friend. "Miles you remember Theo.". She liked shortening his name just as she shortened her own name. "Have a seat! We were just chatting about Quidditch and playing.

"Do you play?". Oh it would be wonderful if he did.

FACT: Lucy Dawn hates pie. For many reasons, too.

She put on an utterly repulsed look on her face, stared at the pie and the hair...still. Pie fight? Pie in the face, pie in the hair, TOO MUCH PIE!! Now, Lucy officially hated the word "pie." It was so disgusting...the white creamy, disgusting smell of it...uggggghhhh!! She scooted back even farther from her. "Why don't you get it cleeeeaned instead of sitting heeeere?" Seriously, though...GET IT CLEANED!! The smell was growing stronger and Lucy began gagging. Bleeeeeccch. It...was so...gross.

Like...

EWWWWWW.

Miles looked over his shoulder as heard someone say his best friends name and caught her closing her eyes. What is with her? Feeling Fia move closer toward him he raised an eyebrow and nodded toward the boy, "Hello mate." He grinned and popped another piece of chocolate in his mouth making a mental note to figure out what Fia was up to. "Yea do you? I'm thinking about trying out this term." Well more than thinking but that wasn't anyone but Fia's business.

Theo beamed at Fia. She wanted him to sit next to her. He wasn't about to say no to that. He watched her budge closer to Miles. She's just doing that to make room. Just to make room. They are best friends, he kept saying to himself in his head.

"Thank you," he smiled, taking the seat next to her. He nodded, "I play a little bit. I was keeper in that game of last season. And my daddy used to play. Do you play?" He would like to play with her, if she did play.

"Hello Miles," he smiled at the boy. He nodded, "Sure do. I have played since my first year. It would be fun to see you on the team. We could play against each other. I am a good keeper."

Sarah smiled as she saw Nancy trying to sort her hair out. "I would leave the Hair like it is, it suits you." She giggled. "I would just put the wand a way and go off back to your own house table." She giggled again. "You always like using your wand don't you." She laughed. "You should just put it away."

"Oh realy, you think you can make me come out of here." She laughed as she looked at Nancy. "I don't think so." She giggled, she was having a giggling fit, this Nancy girl was a funny person. "I can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve to get me out of here."

"I'm sure that Steven would be on my side, your being mean to me, i'm only a third year and your a fifth year and your picking on me." She said as she put on a sad face.

"I think you are being mean." Cried Sarah. "I would get it cleaned but I can't clean it whilest we are in the Great Hall." She said as she looked at this Lucy girl. "I would need something to clean it out with."

"She's a second year, you silly!" she said aloud to Tavelon.
"No matter, we're all Huffies so together we stand!"


Luminous handed Sarah a small bottle of 'Stainificus Outus' under wraps.
She'd been working on the potion all summer before heading off to Hogwarts.
Thrilled that someone actually needed something she made, she giggled with delight.

"Well, it'd be something worth getting used to" Tavelon said, reaching out for another cookie. "Lot's of things move, talk and such. It's all just enchantments and such." It was rather odd for him to be so suspicious of simple magic... unless..."So, are you muggleborn, then? Or do your parents not do a lot of magic around the house?" Hopefully that didn't come off too rudely, but Tavelon was curious.

Tavelon blushed slightly. Being new to Hogwarts meant that trying new things meant he'd make a fool of himself sometimes. "Oh, ok. Well... just so I don't make any assumptions, what year are you in, then?"

Making a pouty face, Lucy looked down. Okay, maybe that was a bit mean, but she hated pie. And she had forgotten about that till now what with all of the chaos at the other tables. Eep!! But anyway...Lucy sighed and tried to think of a way to help Sarah. Hmm...oh! "Water? Water can help!!" Lucy dove out from under the table, and stole a goblet of water from a student whom she didn't know...heck, why not steal another one? Shrugging, she took another goblet and dove back down under the table. "Look! Water!! Use a little bit at a time...otherwise, I'll have to keep stealing water from people I don't know." Not that it mattered...more than half of those people would most likely be people she'd never speak to...

Lucy handed over the two goblets of water and watched the girl, hoping she'd accept this.

Abigail waved happily at Tammy “See ya later.” She hoped the girl stopped feeling so scared.

“No I’m pureblood, but my family owns shops in the muggle world so we had to learn how to act and stuff so as we could work there.” Abigail was missing the shop; she’d been helping out now and then since she was 9. One of the mangers Maggie had always looked after her when her brother was busy.

Tavelon offered her a bit of pie but she decided that two slices of cheesecake was enough. “I’m fine thanks” shaking her head. “Yea it’s always cold; summer only ever seems to last two weeks.” She laughed.



“Well you haven’t asked me any questions have you?” She wasn’t quite sure what he wanted to know. “Ask me whatever you want.” She really hoped the questions weren’t too personal though she was never quite sure how to answer those sorts of questions.

She took a big gulp of her ice cold water and looked around at the others wondering if there were anymore first years she hadn’t met.

"I know. It's so hard to believe. This should be such a happy time, but with all this werewolf business. My dad almost didn't let me come back. He was concerned about having two werewolves here. My dad isn't so much worried about the werewolves as he is about their wolfbane potion. He's concerned about the effectiveness of it. It's usually never fails, but it did at the special assembly. No one seems to know why it did. Apparently Professor Lupa has used it for years with no problems." Abby watches the lady in the pink out fit throwing cookies everywhere. She's lost in thought.


Abby looks back at Ray. He has one of the cookies in his plate too. "Just a little paranoia. I've seen that ladies photograph in an old Hogwart's year book. My boyfriend from Barrow's aunt was a student at Hogwarts when Miss Melita taught Potions. The previous term the professors brewed a potion called the Draught of Ephemera without the ministry's permission. The Draught returns ghost to their earthly bodies. The Ministry conducted a full scale investigation, and the following term replaced all the professors with Ministry aproved ones. Miss Melita was one of them. The students didn't like the new professors, so they retaliated by starting rumors about them. Miss Melita's rumor was her cookies were poisoned. Their was no truth to it of course, but it doesn't hurt to have one checked out. You have to admit there have been some strange things going on around here the last few terms. Now Miss Avalon has just disappeared, and a former Ministry employee shows up to replace her. It's just a little too convinient." Abby smiles. "It's hard to ignore the similarities between the two terms. Like I said. Just a case of over active paranoia."

Tavelon laughed. "I'd believe it. Sometimes I find it get's cold just going up to Manchester." Tavelon put the pie back in it's place. His family was rather well off, but he had never seen so much food in his life! His stomach, however, was telling him it'd seen just about enough food for the day.

"So what does your father do? That'd be weird being in a muggle business. Can he use magic when the muggles aren't looking?" He had heard that sometimes wizards did rather well in muggle jobs, because they could use magic and make it look like they were excellent workers.

"Tavelon, is it? Hmm, think I'll call you 'Tavvy' from now on. Well, Tavvy, I'm a first year, although I feel like I've been here for years." What she really wanted to tell him is that he had the most magical eyes she had ever seen, but was afraid she would scare him away from the table.... so she just continued her small talk... "what's your favorite store in Diagon Alley" she asked him?

Sarah took the bottle from Luminous. "Are you sure it is safe?" She asked as she looked at the bottle. "And also what is in there?" He asked as she smiled at her new friend.

Sarah took the water. "But then we will have another problem." She sighed. "I will be all wet and so will my clothes which will technicaly put us back to square one, it was a good idea but I don't think it will work." She looked at Lucy. "I think maybe I should go to a Professor and ask what I should do." She sighed. "But if I do that, they'll want to know how it got into my hair."

Oh how she wanted to see him play Quidditch. It was a fun sport and he had such determination that he just had to play. No questions about it. Fia smiled as Miles was very polite, something else she was proud of as well.

Fia turned her attention toward Theo once again. He had bright blue eyes andddddd he played Quidditch! YES! Once Theo sat down, Fia moved to the middle between the two boys. Maybe she sat a little closer to Theo but one couldn't tell.

...much.

"Oh really? We...well I definitely want to try out for a spot on the team. I've been practicing all summer long.". She had to admit that she was pretty good on a broom but Miles got them the best of the best brooms. Secretly of course.

That made Tavelon blush a bit more. He usually didn't, except when he was tired. And after a day like today he was rather tired. "Aw" He said "How about 'Tav'?" And then asked a kind of random question. "Oh... uh... I suppose it'd be Ollivanders- No, the Menegerie. That was cool. But of course Fortescue's was..." he was having a hard time making up his mind as for some reason she was staring at him in the eyes.

"Well" he said, feeling slightly uncomfortable "We haven't really introduced ourselves. I'm Tavvy-uh Tavelon. What's your name?" he started to ease up a little.

"Well, my potion has been charmed to dry up immediately after removing the stain.... not only that, but once you use it, it is impossible to get the item you're cleaning dirty ever again.... honest, I worked for months on this."
She smiled confidently at Sarah.

"Nuh-uh!! Well, sure, you might get wet, but it's better than being covered in..." Eeeeyuck...Lucy looked mortified before she said said her next word. "PIE. But if you wish to ask a professor..." Lucy thought of how Sarah could get by the question without getting into a heap of trouble. Weird, though, isn't it? One would think that a professor would have seen...ah, nevermind.

"You could just say that you were walking...and that you um...you slipped!" Of course!! Brilliant idea, Lucy, brilllliant! "You slipped, and you landed in the pie which...yeah. See? Am I smart or what?!" Points to Lucy Dawn! THAT'S RIGHT!!
