"See that'd be telling" Jack smirked "Wow, Antonia's mum left you eh?" Jack laughed "Even I'm not surprised" Jack turned to John "I will help, soon" Jack nodded.

John looked at the Professor and smiled. "Thanks Professor." He said before climbing the ladder. He made sure that the bucket of water was safely on the top step of the ladder before he continued to scrub the wall with all the might that his little hands could give.

He scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed and then he climbed down the ladder and looked at his work. He thought he had done good but what would the Professor say about it. He hoped that he would think it was good. He had given 110% into what he did. He layed balanced on the ladder as he started to work on the ceiling he scrubbed and scrubbed. He hoped that the Professor wanted to ceiling doing. Well even if he didn't John was doing it.

Antonio rolled his eyes. He was really getting tired of this kid, it seemed like he never learned, and every word that came out of his mouth was getting him in deeper and deeper. "Before I am finished with you you are going to behave yourself," he said, utterly disgusted. "Otherwise, don't expect that you will last very long at Hogwarts. In this school you must learn proper behavior, the way you are conducting yourself simply is not tolerated. At all. Do you understand? See how your brother is working? That's what I expect from you!"

Jack rolled his eyes and snorted at Dumont "Manners? At least I didn't help an underage boy to go live with muggles" Jack scowled "If John is so perfect, let him go" Jack told Dumont

John finished doing the ceiling and smiled as he walked down the ladder with the bucket of water in his hand. "Thanks for letting me use the ladder professor." He smiled "I have finished cleaning the room, what do you want me to do next?" he had done the room 110% and he hoped that was good enough. He prayed that it was. "That's of course if the room is upto your standards."

A phrase came to Antonio's mind, "There are none so blind as those who will not see." Clearly, Jack had no interest in learning what had really happened with his brother Jose, how Antonio had tried to persuade him to return to Hogwarts, how worried he had been about him, how he had offered money for him to return to school this term. This boy was beyond wanting to hear any of that, apparently, he would clearly rather embellish the story to suit his purposes. He had no time for any of that sort of nonsense.

"Yes, there's more work to do. That crusty substance needs to be cleaned off the floor in that bathroom over there to your right," he commented.

Jack frowned at Dumont "Go on then, tell me the story you know, without being scared and tripping over your words" Jack sat down as he adjusted his clown costume, he indicated for John to join him.

John went to were Professor Dumont told him to go and was ready to burst into tears the room looked horrible, but John knew he had to do it the sooner he did it the better it was for him. Why ow why did he have to let his dad down, he hoped the Professor didn't know there dad since he had told them that any dentention would be delt with.

He grabbed the spoonge and started to clean the bathroom floor, he was give 110% now and he hoped that he would soon have the floor clean. He wondered when the bathroom was last cleaned.

John decided too let Jack do what he wanted, he wouldn't join in. He had realised that doing what Jack was doing would just get into more trouble, So he turned away from Jack and continued to do the bathroom floor. He hoped that Jack would stop soon.

Antonio just looked at Jack and shook his head. "Forget it, you aren't worth talking to. You aren't even one tenth of what your brother Jose is. The way you are acting, I don't think you will ever get anywhere with your life."

Jack stared at Dumont "I'm giving you a chance to explain, without me butting in!" Jack told him "I'm giving you a once in a lifetime opportunity" Jack told him

John who had been busy cleaning the bathroom floor, went up to the professor "I've finished cleaning it" His hand were now feeling very numb and he was feeling sick from all the cleaning it had taken to clean the bathroom, the water was pitch black now. He wondered how many nightmares he would have about cleaning when the detention was final over. "I hope you like it" He felt like crying and he knew that there was a lot more for him to do to make up for what he did in the Professor's office. He waited for the Professor to see the bathroom and give his next instructions.

"A once in a lifetime opportunity," Antonio mocked. "I imagine that would mean that you would keep your big mouth shut for a few seconds at a time, if you were really capable of doing that?" He laughed. "I already told you everything that happened, but you refuse to believe that and instead mock my words. I have nothing more to say to you, and I certainly can't tell you when you are ever getting out of here. In fact, the way things are going, you may very well rot in here, so I hope you enjoy your new home!"

Antonio glanced over at John, he had done a fairly decent job on the foul bathroom. "Why don't you sit down and take a break for a minute? Your brother can just go over and clean all that sticky green gunk out of that bathtub, I'm sure you won't mind." He handed Jack a tarry toothbrush. "Now, don't be tempted to put it in your mouth! Unless I say so, that is."

John smiled at the Professor as he said that he could sit down for awhile. He hoped that the Professor would accept an appology "Sor..." He started then cut of as an owl came into the chamber and landed on him by mistake. He took the parchment and read it.

The owl dropped this

John read the letter and then called the Professor over. "Professor I think this was ment for you." He smiled at the professor though his face had gone a white colour he had made a mistake with this Professor would the professor ever forgive him.

Antonio walked over to where John was sitting. "What have you got there?", he asked, and then realized that it was a letter from Jose. "Oh, I believe it's from your brother. Have you read this already"?", he asked, taking the letter and reading it through. His face became lined with concern and he began to write another another response with his quill right away, not caring whether either of the twins saw it or not -

Dear Jose:

I am still willing to send you the money to come home, and I do advise you once again to take me up on the offer. Both your twin brothers John and Jack are here at Hogwarts, and I'm sure they would love it if you were to return. Everyone who has known you misses you, as do I. I have no idea who sent you that letter, but I think it was a cruel deception on whosever part that tricked you to go to Holland and I do intend to find out who is behind this. It may be the same people who persuaded your stepmother and my wife to take flight.

In any case, I hope you are willing to reconsider my offer and return. Let me know how much money you require because even though I am sure you are enjoying the experience, you would be so much better off back here at school.

Antonio Dumont

Antonio hadn't mentioned anything in his letter about John and Jack not liking him, it wasn't in his place to do that and that was no one's business but between him and the boys, anyway. He would never try to interfere in family business like that. He tied the parchment to the owl's leg and sent it on its way, hoping that the owl would reach Jose soon. "I hope your brother comes back," he said softly.

John saw the Professor write a reply to Jose and felt relieved when she didn't say anything about the way they had acted towards him, John was curious. "Why didn't you tell Jose how mean we were towards you?" he was sad now he had made the biggest mistake in the world and John was sure that the Professor wouldn't want anything to do with them, but worst of all him.

He turned to the Professor and thought about something, strong people never change their minds or was it week people never change their mind when they found out that they were wrong about something "I'm sorry Professor, if I had known I would have never done what I did" He was cry so hard now that his head was starting to hurt, but he didn't care "Will you forgive me?"

Antonio turned to Jose and looked at him with surprise. "Of course I would forgive you, as long as you behave properly. If the reason you were behaving the way you've been is because you were under the misconception that I persuaded your brother to leave and go off on some crazy mission to Holland or wherever he is, then I don't think we have any basis for disliking one another and that we can start anew as friends. Would you like to do that?" Antonio noticed that the boy was crying. "It's all right, we all make mistakes," he said softly. "Maybe next time you will learn to listen before you accuse someone and act the way you did. All you need to do is think and you'll be fine. Everything is all right, and we can certainly start over." He looked towards Jack, wondering what he would make of all of this. He wanted to release John from detention as soon as possible, but he couldn't do that just yet, not until he was really certain that both these boys had learned their lesson. He wouldn't be doing any favor to Hogwarts by setting them loose before they were ready. But he had been right about John, there was something there to work with. Was the same true of Jack?

Jack looked around the room "I do like this room" He said as he took the toothbrush, he moved over towards the bath tub and scrubbed half heartedly

Jack suddenly stopped his half hearted handywork "What did you say?" he asked John so surprised

Jack suddenly started laughing, all this forgiving was sending him crazy! As Dumont looked at him Jack moved so he was staring Dumont in the eye "You want me to say that aswell?" Jack asked, it was never going to happen, but Dumont didn't know that.

Antonio heard Jack say something. He turned and stared at the boy. "You don't have to say anything," he said simply. "As long as you realize what the true story is. Tell me, boy, what do you think really happened to your brother? Do you still think it was me who had him sent away, or do you agree that it's possible that there might be another side to this story? Are you finally ready to learn the truth? Can you even handle the truth?" Antonio wasn't so sure. There was definitely something very wrong with this boy, he seemed to need a lot more help than he had suspected. He wasn't sure if he was the person who would be able to provide that help or not, but he could try.

John looked at the Professor and smiled "Thanks, maybe I should always try to find out to truth before I go off the deep end like I did in your office." John just wished that the earth would swallow him up now. "I promise I'll behave a lot better and I will do what I can to make it upto you" John promised. He looked at Jack what was wrong with him, had something effected him.

John smiled at the Professor "Yes please, I would loved to start again as friends" he hoped that the professor would allow him to go to his office when the detention was over so that he could tidy up some of the mess that he had made and asked him more about what had happened and why Jose wanted to go off the way he did. He didn't dare ask the Professor that so in the end he just sat next to the Professor still crying. In one way he just wanted to hug the Professor so that the Professor knew that he was sorry but boys don't do that to teachers do they.

Jack looked at Dumont "I have a name, I am not called 'boy'" Jack told Dumont "I'm not sure what to believe, I can handle the truth, I can" Jack said stubbornly "If nuns can handle the truth I can" Jack said putting a little emphasis on the word 'nuns' this ought to make Dumont see Jack had information, lots of it, Jack suddenly turned to John "Hey, there aren't any snakes here" he comforted John.

Antonio smiled. "I think you would save yourself a lot of trouble if you always tried to find out the truth before going off the deep end, John. That is probably the single most thing that is responsible for the trouble that people have between them in this world, simple misunderstanding." He held out his hand to the boy. "Let's start over again. I'm Professor Antonio Dumont, Muggle Studies professor. It's very nice to meet you." Antonio wanted to stop by his office with John once the detention ended, there were a few things he wanted to share with him about his brother Jose in the few terms that he had known him. Actually, John was starting to remind Antonio more and more of Jose, he was developing a new sense of respect for him.

Antonio turned to Jack. "I'm aware of your name, and I will use it when you start to act like a human being and not a wild animal. Well, what do you see as the truth at this point? And I must warn you that your attitude is not going to get you out of this room. I have half a mind to release your brother and keep you here alone by yourself indefinitely, and I do mean ALONE." There was something about Jack that bothered him. He had some kind of magical power that he just couldn't place, or else how would he know about Antonia and that he had found her at a nunnery? Either that, or he was involved in something that he shouldn't be. Antonio hoped that wasn't the case and that Jack was just weirdly gifted.

"Well, If I am being called 'boy' then it must mean I'm human" Jack replied "Go on then, let him, leave me here" Jack told Dumont with a dirty look "Like I care" Jack muttered the last sentence.

John looked at the professor and took the hand that the Professor was offering him "I'm John Mosier" he replied "though you pronounce it Moiser, there was a spelling mistake in our Birth certificate, they put the S before the I instead of after the I" he looked at the professor before continuing. "I am a first year Hufflepuff." He wondered how much longer he had to wear the clown suit for, it was starting to make him look silly and he didn't want to look silly anymore, expecialy not infront of the Professor.

Forgetting that the Professor had put it on him he started to appologise for his appearance "I'm sorry about my appearance, Professor but I have to wear this clown suite as punishment for my action." He then remember that the Professor was the one that made him wear it, His face went bright red with embarasment.

"I think you might be right there Professor, I always seem to get into trouble for misunderstand something, I seemed to always get people wrong. Now that I am starting to know you better it makes me realise that I have been wrong about you, there is no chance that you would have made Jose do anything, it's that person who decieved him fault." He smiled at the Professor.

John looked at Jack when he said about snakes and hide behind the Professor "Professor there isn't any snake in here is there?" He was scared now one of the only things that scared him were snakes.

"I told, there aren't any" Jack rolled his eyes at John.

Antonio turned to Jack again. "Jack, I told you to can the attitude. You don't have to have your defenses up all the time and it isn't going to help you by acting the way you are. I think the truth is that you've suffered, people don't act the way you do for no reason. Something has hit you, something hard that you'd rather forget and not talk about, but you are going to tell me what that thing is. You can't bottle up inside you and hope it'll go away or take on a rough exterior and try to laugh things off, that isn't the solution. Have you heard of St. Mungo's?" Antonio looked at him. "People who act the way you do usually end up there if they keep their feelings suppressed the way you are, and I really don't want to see that happen to you. You're the only one who can stop it, Jack. It's up to you. I'm here to help you if you are." Antonio was quite sincere in what he was telling Jack, he would do anything to help him right now.

"It's okay, John, there aren't any snakes here in this room. A lot of people are afraid of snakes, but you don't have to worry, we don't have any here." Antonio knew that fear of snakes was one of the more common fears that people had. "Don't worry. And I like the name Moiser, it's a good name." He smiled. "Nice to start over again. Why don't you go ahead and change back into your regular school uniform, I don't think you need to wear that clown suit any more."
