Qaz replied to Elizabeth, 'Oh, I forgot about that point. It wouldn't do to have an exploding floor cleaner, unless you were trying to blast the dirt away.' and she went back to the book.

She popped her head up again and said, 'Aggie reacted like is was more of an anesthetic...the way her mouth went kinda numb. Does that give us any ideas?'

Tobi shook his head, "Actually Qaz, I think that was from the Bubble Head Charm, not the Potion, or it could be that allergic reaction she may or may not have had." He stared around the room impatiently.

"Now would really be a good time for Professor Bontecou to jump out of a cupboard or something and let us in on the Mystery. I mean, I like the idea that it's the Scintillating Solution because if it's volatile, I don't think it's the Summoning Solution. And the only other thing taught that term, that we can find in Hogwarts a History, is the Scintillating Solution."

Anna squeezed in through the crowd gathered at the front desk, trying to get a good look at the potion they were all discussing. Glancing up at the blackboard, Anna saw that four hints about the identity of the potion had been revealed. They students were not to touch or taste the potion, and they were to be gentle with it, as it's easily volatile. The mystery potion also had very few ingredients and was taught shortly before they entered school. Anna stared at the potion for a few moments and then glanced around the assembled group. "So what you been able to come up with so far?" she asked.

Oh great. Asolutely ruddy perfect. He was all confuzzled about this mysterious potion, the last thing he needed now was that bossy boots, know-it-all Greingoth. Bleh.

"Well, if you'd been here on time you would know, wouldn't you?" He huffed with a small roll of his eyes when she went and asked what they'd come up with. The cheek!

Okay! Hold the phone! None of that! None of the snarky snark. It's not helping. Tobi's Peacemaker Mode kicked in. He tried to be authoritative, but it really only came off as a mild point, "Um, Clifford, Professor Bontecou isn't here yet, so I don't think Anna technically qualifies as late. We're just... extremely on time."

He turned to Anna, "First we thought it was a Shrinking Solution, but we kinda dismissed that when we figured out that it was covered in the Year 2060-2061. That Narrows it down to Scintillation Solution, and Summoning Solution, and now we're debating which it could be."

"I have been here the whole time," Anna replied, wondering why he thought she'd just walked through the door. "I've just managed to make my way through the small crowd of students and up to this table." She turned from Clifford and looked back at the potion, comsidering the hints they'd been given and trying to come up with the identity of the potion.

"It's alright, Tobi. Thank you, though," Anna said, flashing him a polite smile. "Besides, I didn't just step foot in the classroom. I just haven't been up here at this table with you until now. That's beside the point, though." She listened as Tobi gave her a quick update on what they'd come up with so far. "I see," she said, taking both ideas into consideration and then looking up at the hints once again.

Clifford knew full well that techincally Greingoth wasn't late. She just ... annoyed him. Eh. Tobi seemed pretty decent though, and Clifford half shrugged and nodded at the Gryffindor's words. He wasn't looking for any trouble. Especially not in the Headmaster's classroom. He might've been dumb, but not THAT dumb.

"I wish the Professor would just come and tell us already." He muttered with a small sigh. "He can't of got that lost surely.. maybe he really has been ambushed by Peeves." Poor bloke.

"Maybe he really IS hiding in a cupboard waiting for us to figure this out." Tobi suggested. He wouldn't put it past Bontecou, he was a bit strange, but then, Tobi wasn't the paragon of normality either, was he?

Lyra eased her way through the crowd behind Banana. She wanted a good look at the potion as well, but apparently no one had figured anything out. No touchy, no tasty, no no no no no! That was a sign she would follow graciously as she didn't want any harm to come to herself...or the others for that matter.

"So, no one is brave enough to drop some on the floor," she asked as she looked to the BRAVE Gryffindors for an answer. Where was Agie when she needed her. Now there was a brave one!

She then turned to Tobi and patted he head. "He could be," she giggled as he talked about the professor hiding in the cupboard.

Tobi grinned his crooked grin at Lyra, she was fun. "I think Qaz suggested testing some on the floor, but I wouldn't try it. I've destroyed two uniforms this term, I don't need to destroy another."

Tobi considered the clues again, getting particularly stuck on the volatility of the potion... "There is one thing we haven't considered;" he pointed out, "the Syllabus was set to be something completely different then what got taught that year. Originally it was set to be the Scintillation Solution, Exploding Fluid, and the Hiccuping Solution, with the arrival of the Sisters from Salem the Syllabus got changed. Professor Bontecou could be referring to one of the other two potions, but then the clue is that it was TAUGHT, isn't it?"

"I interviewed the headmaster for The Quill a few months ago, and he told me he gets lost quite often," Anna said. "It very well could be that he can't find this classroom. Maybe if he hasn't shown up after a while, a few of us should go and look for him." Anna shrugged and got back to studying the potion. Hopefully the professor would come in soon, and they wouldn't have to worry about forming any search parties. Anna glanced back up at Tobi and then turned towards the cupboards. The professor...in the cupboards? Maybe he really was hiding out and watching their every move. In that case, they better get a move on and figure out the identity of this mysetry potion!

"Oh, hey, Lyra!" Anna greeted, taking her eyes off the potion for a second to smile at her friend. "You want to try the potion on...the floor? ...and just what will we do if it ruins the floor?" Even though a lot of potions mishaps could be cured with the swish of a wand, Anna didn't want to take any chances unless she knew what the potion was.

Syllabus? How did she miss the syllabus? "Exploding fluid," she asked as now her head was turned into many, several questions. She looked to the green bubbling stuff that was before them. No tasting...no problem.

Now this was interesting! "Our Headmaster cannot find his way around the school?" Maybe they should all get together and create a little map that he could carry around with him at all times...like...the Marauders Map that she read about. Now that would be awesome! You are here! Oh the things that popped into her head were wonderfully entertaining sometimes.

She shrugged her shoulders. "Run?" There was an answer to her question if they happened to mess up the floor. Her green eyes fell back onto the potion as she knew it had to be some sort of explosive...volatile was the correct term used. Big word! Tempermentally challenenging!

As Anna and Lyra showed up in the group, Elizabeth nodded at them, smiling in greeting, before going back to the conversation. "We contemplated trying to drop some of the potion on the floor. When Qaz wondered if it was some sort of cleaning solution. And we also considered using SpeRevelio to identify the ingredients. Since that would definitely help us identify what the potion is. But since we didn't exactly want the floor to explode, or have the headmaster come in and say we cheated, we got kind of stuck." She shrugged. "And since nobody wants to disobey and touch the potion, we'd definitely have to use our wands to do anything."

NEWTS. Miles didn't really want to think about NEWTS at the moment, he'd only just finished his OWLS! But still, he waltz right into the specific potions lesson and stopped. He snorted as he watched a big crowd gather around a cauldron. Oooh exciting. He thought, which you would have thought was sarcastic, but he was genuinely interested.

Miles put his bag down by a desk, next to what looked like Vannie had been sat at, and made his way towards the cauldron. He was lucky that he could see over most of the people's head's. "Ha. Looks funny." He smiled at it. "... And familiar."

Ludo looked to Liz. "Yes, wands seem to be the only answer."
He looked around at the class before speaking again..."So. Who's willing to cast something on our mystery brew today?"

"Ooooh! Oooh! Me! Me!" Peeves waved his hand in excitement from the back of the group. He flew up to the front of the class where the potion was. "Professor Rey is lost today, but Professor Peeeeves is here to stay!" He grinned down at the students as he sang. He faked a deep, professor-like tone of voice. "Now, class, this is potion MOST DANGEROUS! But there's no need to panic -- Peeves will show you JUST what to do!" He dipped a cup into the potion and held it up.

"Ooooh... let's see what this can do!" he admired the green potion and then aimed for a student and threw the liquid straight at them, the liquid streaming through the air and landing, erupting in an enormous splatter of bright light. He cackled, pleased at his handiwork, and began tossing around cupfuls of potion, splashing it about and trying to hit the students. Soon the room was filled with explosive bursts of liquid light so bright it could burn your retinas.

Qaz yelled at Peeves, 'Now cut that out, or we're going to go find the Bloody Baron. He'll know how to deal with you.'

To the others, she said, 'Well, that clinches it...the blinding light...must be the Scintillating Solution.'

"Arg! Duck Aggie!" Tobi threw himself, most gallantly on top of Aggie, bodily shielding her from Peeves' Potion attack.

Most unfortunately for him, he got a big blast of the concoction on his back.

Another uniform ruined. A blinding light surrounded him for a 5 foot radius and his sweater vest more or less ceased to exist at least to any standards that someone like Professor Bunbury would hold- his dress shirt had seen better days as well.

"Yeah, I'm inclined to agree Qaz, didn't realize it exploded when you threw it at stuff thought," said Tobi, shaking himself off.

Ludo looked around as a loud voice sounded from the room. To his surprise it was an unwelcomed visitor. Peeves.

The poltergueist flew madly across the class and began acting like their Potions master. To Ludo's horror, Peeves took cupfull after cupfull of the potion and began hurling it around the class.

Ludo pulled out his wand, unsure what good it would do, but soon found a good reason. A cup of potion was flying right at him and he barely had enough time to raise his wand and breathe, "Protego!"
The potion splattered on the shield and burst into a bright light.

He ducked for cover around a desk and shouted, "Peeves! You ruin the Restricted Section and have the nerve you disrupt our class!"

Lyra ducked when Peeves began throwing the potion all over everyone. Her eyes closed to the blinding light when she heard someone smart saying the very spell they learned in DADA. OH smart cookie!

"Protego!" she shouted so that she could shield herself from the exploding vile that was being thrown. She moved towards the other side of class, but the sad thing was, where was the Headmaster?

Anna jumped back, startled at the sudden appearance of Peeves. She groaned, knowing that something not very nice was surely bound to happen. "Oh, no. No, no, no, no, no," she said, glaring at Peeves and making a move to back away from the still-mysterious potion. "No way am I standing around a mystery potion with you teaching the class. Thanks, but no thanks." Anna rolled her eyes and turned to push her way back out of the group. When Peeves said something about "showing them JUST what to do," Anna paused, raised an eyebrow, and turned back around. "Peeves! Peeves, wait! No!" she pleaded. Her words fell on deaf ears (if he even has ears), for Peeves had already picked up the potion bottle and began to toss its contents all around the room. Anna's jaw dropped and she ran for cover, determined not to get any of that mystery liquid on her. "That does it!" she exclaimed, heading for the door. "Let's just face it---the professor is lost! I'm going to find some help," she said.

Lyra looked up and saw Anna heading for the door. "Wait for me," she said as she realized that Banana was going for help. She was not about to stay around for exploding potions as she had already had one broken nose and she didn't need another.

Lyra and the unknown Ravenclaw had thought to cast Shields, hey, he knew that Charm, why didn't he think of that?

But Anna had perhaps the most sensible idea of all to Tobi's way of thinking. She was scarpering. "Um, okay, you do that Anna," Tobi agreed.

If there was an instinct in him that was saying Anna should stay and fight the Poltergeist off, it wasn't very vocal, besides, he didn't much like to argue with Anna, she was nice enough, but he was a little scared of her too, he'd seen her in Quidditch Tryouts.

"Lyra and that Ravenclaw guy and I all know the Shield Charm, maybe" and it was a big maybe, "we can hold down the fort. Eep! PROTEGO!" Tobi cast a shield as more explosive goo flew in his general direction. "Um, could you be quick about it though?"

Lyra obviously decided she had had enough of the fun. "Make that 'the Ravenclaw Guy and I know the Shield Charm.' Doesn't anyone else know it?" Tobi looked around frantically, "Qaz, you're taking Defence Against the Dark Arts this term aren't you? How's your Shield?"

Elizabeth rolled her eyes as first Peeves showed up, and then had had the bright idea to attempt to throw the potion all over. But as the bright lights started to flood the room, she closed her eyes, weirdly thanking Professor Kazimeriz for having that part of DADA class when they were supposed to figure out who was around them in the pitch blackness.

She heard the Gryffindor guy yelling about holding down the fort, after Anna and Lyra had fled looking for help, and smiled to herself a little. She knew the spell, alright. But she also didn't want to try and cast things with her eyes shut. Waving her wand unobtrusively, she nonverbally cast a Shield charm over herself, at least for as long as it was going to take her to navigate over to the desk where she had left her bag. Listening for Peeves' location, she got there, and ducked under the desk long enough to dig in her schoolbag and pull out a dark pair of sunglasses. Slipping them on, she blinked as she reopened her eyes, grateful for the protection. Sliding her bag under the desk again, she quickly muttered "Impervius", casting the charm on her bag to protect it at least as best she could from the mystery potion, before climbing back out. "I can cast a pretty good Shield Charm," she said as she came back out in the open. "During that hex game we played in DADA, I blocked spells coming at both me and another boy." Speedily casting it again non-verbally, she blocked another cupful of potion before glaring at Peeves as he cackled. "Or, we could always try something else," she muttered, before pointing her wand at the poltergeist and quickly muttering a tongue-tying curse and a body-bind curse in quick succession. And then she made sure her Shield Charm was active again as she waited to see if the other spells were going to work on Peeves.

Qaz felt like an idiot for not thinking of it earlier, 'Protego! Tobi, you have my permission to call me a moron for not thinking of a Shield. I don't know where my mind was at!' she exclaimed...something must distracted me...
