Aggie was on her way from the Great Hall to the owlry to collect Jeeves. She had her Birdie Ball in her pocket and was planning on taking the Scops Owl out for some exercise; he’d been getting fat and lazy lately, not to mention she hadn’t seen him in a few weeks.

There are some messes a man is meant to stay out of, and sometimes trying to call in the cavalry is just as futile and effort. One would think that the Bunbury experience would have taught him that but apparently not so.

Tobi hurried back down through the secret passage to the way he came, knowing between Paris Greenwood and the assortment of other people throwing hexes around, lots of them far more competent than her, Cale would have been in a bad way. Not that he could do much to save him, with his exceptionally poor wand skills, but he could scream for help at the top of his lungs.

He rounded the corner and crashed into, "Valentine! Aggie!" he exclaimed, seizing the latter's hand, c'mon, this is no place to just be hanging around. "We need to find Cale and get the heck out of here."

Tobi pulled Aggie along, just assuming Valentine would follow, she often did, and it tended to be a good thing. He looked frantically around for Cale.

Cale was in fact, fine. He was upright, flushed and talking to Professor Kapoor. Wow, he must have fared just fine. Tobi suddenly felt foolish for being so worried.

"Hey, you're okay!" he called out, shocked.

Cale turned upon hearing Tobi's voice. Tobi's voice which was coming from Tobi who was holding hands with Aggie. Oh! So the chicken returns does he?! He leaves me bound and gagged in spells to run off and find his girlfriend does he! HA! Ha! HA! Cale's mental laughter carried over to his outter vocals. "HA! HA! Am I Okay? O-K?!" He laughed and bent over a bit at the waist. "Oh sure! Now you ask!?" He suddenly lost all humor. "How did you ever get sorted into Gryffindor you - you ..." He paused for half a second as if he was second guessing the insult. In the end he blurted it out. "CHICKEN!"

Okay, that was uncalled for. Tobi thought.

"They put the Sorting Hat on my head and the ratty old thing shouted it out," Tobi replied snarkily. "I thought Ravenclaws were supposed to be smart."

Smart enough not to call friends who were trying to help them rude names. But then Cale was never smart enough not to meddle with dangerous things like gnometruckles, so maybe he got into Ravenclaw because he specifically asked to be there. Tobi's temper rose within him. Hadn't he lectured Aggie on her own temper earlier that year? Now look at him... how the carefree boy has gone angsty on everyone. Let one emotion bubble to the surface and the whole cauldron boils over.

"I am smart. Smart enough to not run off on my friends and leave them to get eaten by a bonkers professor and then to leave him the next day to be jinxed and hexed up the wazzooo you yellow bellied sap sucker!" He waved his hands around a little like a crazy bird trying to take flight.

Tobi narrowed his eyes. He let go of Aggie's hand and advanced a few steps to stand over his so-called friend. "You appear to be in one piece to me. So either Kazimeriz has very poor digestion or you didn't, as you say, 'get eaten.'"

He felt no need to justify his actions. Let Cale, the ungrateful, think he ran off on him, see if he cared.

Cale stretched himself up on this tip-toes. Shortest friend faced off against tallest. In any other situation, this might have been funny. Cale's hair and even his sweater vest seemed to puff out a little as if he was trying to be a cat fluffing out its fur. "I'm not talking about Kamicrazy - I'm talk about Bun-looney-burry!"

"Yeah well be grateful." Tobi snapped. "Because while I left you to distract Bunbury, I went in search of the first available teacher. And who did I get? Kazimeriz! Wouldn't you know it? So not long after you were released from HER nutty clutches, I got dragged before her AND Kazimeriz and got ripped a new one by BOTH of them for telling lies and rumours about her - because whatever made her so weird keeps coming and going. I don't know maybe she was sniffing too much fertilizer." He threw his hands in the air. How people kept missing that the Herbology professor had completely flipped her lid was not only baffling but so very frustrating.

"And you know what, man? I could have brought you down with me, but I didn't!" Tobi poked Cale, who was doing his level best to be as tall as he was (and not doing a very good job of it,) in the chest.

"Don't poke me!" He swatted at Tobi's hand as his own started to ball. Fighting, Cale, came his father's voice in the back of his head. Will get you no where. Walk away, deal with it tomorrow when you have a calm head. He took a deep breath and lowered himself back onto flat feel.

"You know what? I've got a gnomtruckle to find which," he glanced around Tobi to both Aggie and Valentine. "No thanks to anyone else, it roaming loose in the castle somewhere." He turned on his heel and stormed off down the hallway.

Tobi looked apologetically at Aggie, heaved a sigh, and took off down the corridor after Cale. "Wait," he called. "I'm coming with you."

Not that it mattered if Cale waited or not, Tobi could over take him in four long strides...

Kapoor watched the frantic exchange between Prefect Thornton and Tobias and before he could say much of anything, the boys had fled the scene. But, he was careful to register all that he'd heard of the Professors and their actions. Hogwarts was never really this much of a mad house in his youth...or was it?

Kapoor found it amusing, Jack's complete lack of trust in Kayla. "I'm sure you'll be just fine, Mr. Mosier. And, you'll have to go back to your common room sometime." He explained, trying to imagine how anyone could regard Denton's poetry as harassment. But, he supposed poetry, being subjective, may not suit everyone.

Kapoor nodded, understanding a bit more of the picture now. In fact, he began to feel as though he understood Jack a great deal more now with Kayla's explaination.


"Now, how else do you expect your prefect to do your house proud if her hands are not properly prepared for wand-work?". Professor Kapoor could see that this was serious. The poor boy was very near delusional. He should probably be escorted from the scene forthrightly. "Mr. Mosier, if you really feel unsafe in your own common room, well I can take you to Professor Shackleton's office. Maybe there is something she can tell you." He wondered how Macadrian would handle this one.

Jack shook his head "Never again" he bit his lip "She's not preparing for wand work" Jack told him, he was planning to run, professor was taking Kayla's side 'hmm, I could run down the corridor, down the stairs and-' "WHAT?" Jack's eyes widened "No, no, no, no, no, no" Jack repeated "In case you didn't hear me" Jack laughed weakly "No" he said firmly "I'm not going to the common room, not going to Shakleton and... before you even think about it, I'm NOT going with her " Jack pointed at Kayla.

Kayla stood and listened to Professor Kapoor and she covered up her laugh with a small spluttering cough. Oh Merlin, how she loved the Professor, he was taking her side in this without making it appear that way. She thought it best not to say anymore, let Jack hang himself just that little bit more.

She raised an eyebrow at Jack and gave him a little smile, "Oh dear perhaps the hospital wing then? You really do seem to be suffering from stress Jack. You're carrying on as though everyone is against you and I really don't know where you got that idea from." It took all her self control not burst out laughing.

Jack shook his head "No, no, no, no, no, no" he shook his head "I'm not suffering from stress, and everyone IS against me, especially you" Jack pointed an accusing finger at Kayla before glancing around, he searched for a way out, hmm, the professor and Kayla were at one side... Jack closed his eyes and planned out how he would escape.

Lyra began roaming the hallways singing to herself. She was a tad bored and needed something to do...anything. It was amazing how much she had accomplished and there was only so much studying her brain could take.

"We went from dueling to... extreme emotion really fast. So either you're mad at me and repressing it, or you're upset about something else. What's going on?" He shuffled his feet in the hallway before pausing next to a suit of armor. "Unless I've misjudged our friendship and you actually can't stand me and I drove you to the edge."

"Yeah...yikes," she muttered, not really sure what to say. The truth was, she didn't even realize why she was so angry and upset either. She'd thought it had something to do with Cale not being around for much longer, but then again, the two did have this summer to look forward to. "Would you think I was crazy if I told you that I honestly don't know? I mean, I don't. Lately, these angry, bitter feelings have been showing, and it's sort of like I even see my friends as my enemies. Cope, I fought a professor. I mean, it wasn't a really bad fight, but we jammed snow in one another's faces. Then, I saw this professor in the corridors a few hours later, and I was mean to her. I tricked her, Cope." Following Copernicus' lead, Anna shuffled her own feet for, if nothing else, a distraction. "I'm...sorry."

"Well, I'm sorry too if I made you feel like I was trying to trick you. I honestly wasn't going out of my way to be sneaky. I thought it would keep you from having to admit to helping me with a prank... and I was fooling around."

He gave her a rueful look and slung his arm around her shoulders. "I think there's something bothering you, though, and until you figure out what it is, you're going to keep lashing out at the people who care about you."

"It's alright, Cope. There's really no need to apologize. We should get back in that dueling arena soon and have a nice, fair fight---one that's not born from anger and hurt feelings. I promise I'll behave this time," she said, giving him a playful smile. She slung her arm around his shoulder as well and nudged him to walk and talk with her. "Sooo, I need to help you with a prank, eh?" she asked. "Tell me---does this involve drinking disgusting potions, losing valuable body parts, death, losing points, or anything close to being as damaging as all of the above? If not, then I just might consider helping you." Anna eyed Cope out of the corner of her eye. She really didn't understand why she'd been mad at him in the first place. He was Cope---the boy she'd thrown jelly slugs against the walls of the train with...the boy she'd thrown dog-slobber induced toys to in an attempt to exercise the groundskeeper's dog. "Cope, 'til I figure everything out, will you promise to still be my friend? You know...no matter how crazy I may be?"

"Well, you're still being my friend even though I'm being a beast to Celandine, so I suppose I can put up with anything you try me with," he was careful to keep his hand clear of her shoulder, but his arm lay heavy across hers. "But here's the deal. Lupa wants me to duel Prefect Green, who refuses. I know you heard about that, and you heard Kazimeriz tell me to go ahead and do it." He sighed. "So I told Lupa that Green refuses to duel, and she agreed to let me do a prank instead...."

"I want to hear your Celandine story one day, too," Anna said, giving Copernicus a matter-of-fact look. "You and Plymouth have changed a bit since I met the two of you, and the other day, Plymouth told me he was pretty sure you hate him. That doesn't sound like the Cope I know." She glanced forward and simply carried on down the corridor while she listened to him speak. The more he talked, he more the realization started to dawn on her. He needed her to duel him, yes, but he also needed her to lose the duel, so that she could carry through with his prank. She supposed she could do that. She could be brave, just like a Gryffindor was supposed to be, and she could help a friend. Stopping short and looking Copernicus right in the eye, she asked, "Okay, so how bad will it hurt? You know...the prank."

"I don't hate him, though. I need him to be my friend again. He's..." He laughed unevenly. "My brother. Great idiot. He really is, and I need him to stop going around being mad at me and to let me make it better. I'm NOT going to steal his girlfriend. I don't want her. No. I..." Tell lies?

"I need you to wear your hair green and silver for a week, and if we could get Cale to do it too... all the better. And IF you agree to this, I'll do the jinx and anti-jinx myself, and you can tell people it was a vicious prank and you don't know who did it and you're livid, and... I'll owe you. ANYTHING you say."

"Good," Anna said, keeping it short and simple. After nodding just once, she nudged the two of them to continue their walk down the corridor. "You know, if you think I'm scary during dueling, you should have been a fly on the wall during that one class where you and Plymouth were pretty much going head-to-head. I thought Professor Truebridge was just going to hex you once and for all be done with it! Honestly!" Anna sighed and eyed Cope, a slight frown on her face. It didn't seem like he didn't want to steal Plymouth's girlfriend. She wondered what he was about to say when he cut his last sentence short, but she didn't ask. Noooo...some things were better left silent.

Once again, Anna stopped abruptly in the middle of the corridor. He needed her to---"Do what?" she asked, looking at him as if he'd grown six heads and twelve eyes. "Oh, my. Green and silver, though? I don't even have any clothes or shoes to even come close to coordinating with those two colors!" she jokingly commented. "Copernicus Kettleburn, you don't owe me one, you owe me two. So when do we...you know...change my hair? Oh, and good luck getting Cale to cave in..."

"We weren't fighting, though. We were... I don't know. Just trying to be heard, I think. I'm not mad at him, and Plym is just... he's gentle, you know? He would carry spiders outside to release them any day over stepping on them. But we still haven't talked, and that's going to be the worst bit."

Copernicus removed his arm and gave her a serious look. "If you're really willing to do this, I will owe you until the day I DIE. Can we do it soon? Like maybe... just... I don't know. We have to arrange it so it happens when I'm not around so no one blames me. And we could make it so dark green it's almost black and you could wear a silver headband. That would be okay, right?"

Anna nodding, agreeing with what Copernicus was saying. Come to think of it, she'd never once seen Plymouth get upset or angry with anyone. There was that one little, itsy, bitsy time in History of Magic where she'd thought he might just hex Copernicus until there was nothing left of the boy, but he hadn't. He'd been more calm than most people would under those circumstances. "So what's stopping you?" she asked, wondering why, if Copernicus knew the solution to the problem, he hadn't acted on it. Then again, she supposed a lot of pride was at stake, added to the fact that she still believed a part of Copernicus was still wishing for Cela to be his.

When Cope removed his arm, Anna looked up at him, waiting expectedly to hear what he'd say. "Awww, come on. It's not that serious, but if you say so. A few chocolate frogs should do the trick. Oh, and I'm sure I'll think of something you can do for me to repay me for the horrible humiliation I'm about to put myself through. Alright, so just...tell me the where and the when, and I'll be there. I'll even throw in a shocked, surprised reaction when it all happens," she promised. "How's this face look?" She raised her hands into the air, widened her eyes, and dropped her jaw dramatically, clearning joking about the matter.
