She said with a slightly crestfallen look on her face.

Evolette looked up at the girl across from her, recognizing her immediately as Paige, the girl from the train. "Hello again." she replied, giving her a charming smile. "What do you think of Hogwarts?

Her attention was suddenly diverted when she heard a male voice calling her name, a familiar voice at that. "Miles!" she squeaked, quelling the urge to kiss his cheek, that was what he had his girlfriend for was it not? Even if she had been the most important girl in his life until now. Not that she was bitter or anything. Hmpf.

Her attention was once again stolen as Nicholai returned, and another boy followed him. He was cute.

Oh wait. Remember you have a boyfriend McKenna.

"Well, at least you aren't banned from it." Freya said, a bitter note playing carefully between her words as she crossed her arms. "There's always next year though, so don't be too upset."

'Yeah i suppose, but why did you mum ban you anyway it's not like its as rough as boxing?'
Her lip trembled but she calmed herself so she didnt cry.

I dont play on the team i play in my free time. I was banned from the Qudditch team in my third year for blowing up a suit of armor. She started laughing. It was her funniest memory of Hogwarts yet.

I bet your great. Maybe you could go out for the team next year. What do you think Fre? she said not aware she had just given Freya a nickname. When she did release her eyes turned a pale pink.

'Thanks but i'd probably just fall off my broom, or otherwise my brother would charm me off my broom, so you blew up a suit of armour, good job, i should consider trying that'
She said with a smirk on her face.

Freya stared at the girl for a moment, then spoke in a dull tone, "Well, I guess it was a combination of things. One, would be that the league I was on lost one match, and she seems to see my losing as a bad reflection of her parenting abilities. And two," she paused for a minute, remembering vividly the night that the accident happened, "because I almost killed a fellow team member. One of the chasers..." Freya paused again before finishing her thought, "Even my team said it wasn't my fault, when you see a bludger coming at you through a blizzard you have to hit it or dodge, there was only enough time for one, so I hit. My team was more than happy to allow me to resume my playing, but my mother wasn't so forgiving." She could still see the injury she had inflicted, the side of his head had a flap of skin laying on his shoulder. Freya shook her head and tried to bring herself back to the present. She looked to Penelope, "Don't you even think about crying, he was just fine after a few days in St. Mungo's."

Nicholai smirked at Evolette's squeaky tone and followed her gaze. Ohhh so that was Miles- Nico had seen him around a few times last term but never caught a name. And he had a girlfriend in Hufflepuff too. Interesting.

"Evolette, This is Seth- Hufflepuff prefect and one of the friends I made on the train." The one that winked at Anna. Ha.

Nico turned to Seth.

"Now you may need to take a moment, and its probably a good thing you are already sitting down; This is Evolette, she's fairly good at winking and making people blush as well."

Nicholai looked at his hand, glad to see the pinkness was fading. He drummed his fingers on the table and noticed the girl he had met in Diagon Alley. Cute kid. 'Hi Princess.' he mouthed at her, before smirking and turning back to Evolette and Seth.

'Wow, that's horrible, but it wasnt your fault, like you said it was either hit it or dodge, you hit it, hoping it would find someone, but it did, it was just the wrong person'

"True" Freya said shortly, "I don't think I'd wish someone from the other team to be hurt that badly though either." She zoned out on a knot in the wood table, and took a deep breath closing her eyes for a moment.

I highly recomend it. It will be the highlight of your first year. She giggled.

"Sounds like a good idea to me as well. I should try it as well." Freya said, coming out of her trance.
"You stinker! Of course it's the game!" Freya said jokingly, "Of course you have a problem with boxing but not quidditch." she laughed.

Seth raised an eyebrow as he looked up and down the Slytherin table, making it look like he was on an important prefect mission. One that didn’t exist at all, but he might as well get The Look that a prefect had that showed authority and meant business one hundred and ten percent of the day. Maybe he was exaggerating it a little bit, but maybe a first year would decide to move away and be annoying elsewhere. Ha! Then that would prove that The Look would be enough to scare a dementor away. … Okay, maybe it would be enough to scare those brain-dead gnomes away AND their nasty little droppings that just loved to get stepped on by important people such as himself.

The Hufflepuff prefect sighed, letting his eyebrow go back to the normal way it should’ve looked and put on a mellow face. Why were the Start-of-the-Term Feasts always so boring? Yeah, the food prepared by the house elves was good and all, but all the waiting and waiting and waiting could have killed anyone on the spot. And, Merlin, would that have been a shocker. The Ministry would be back all over the school again. Now that would’ve scared the pants – did they even have those? – off of a few dementors here and there! Ha-ha! That would’ve been priceless....

Seth tilted his head slightly so that he was looking somewhat at Nicholai. Noticing that he was indicating his badge, the fifth year male looked down at it himself and grinned. “Oh. Why show it off to the world when the world will come to you eventually? Know what I mean?” he asked, wishing that these stinking benches had backs to them so they could just lean back and relax. Then again, that was what the common room was used for the most part. When exactly were they going to their common rooms again? With being a prefect, he’d have to show the midgets around and who knows how long that’d take. Great, just great.

More head tilting. This time it stopped at another Slytherin, but this time a female. A pretty female too. Wait. What did Nicholai just say? Good at winking and making people blush? Oh, no. Not Seth Paton! He was not a blusher – he was technically, but he would never blush unless he really was forced to. But no, blushing was a big no in his book. Blinking at the girl a few times, taking in her looks – which were fairly decent – he smiled at her, luminous blue eyes looking past her shoulder at the window. Merlin, he was good. Thank God that Andrew taught him that. The best look on the face of the earth, the ‘I’m Looking at You, But Not Really’ look. Hopefully this Evolette girl wasn’t one that knew boys that well at all.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Evolette,” Seth said in a friendly tone, still looking out of that ever-helpful window, but still looking like he was actually looking right at the girl. “I’m Seth, as Nicholai here has kindly taken my place in introducing myself. First year prefect, so … you better watch it out there when you find yourself wandering around the corridors in the middle of the night.” He grinned and winked at her for that final touch, finally looking right at the girl instead of the window behind her.

Lillianna walked into the great hall and looked aiournd at the feast in front of her before heading over to the Slytherin table. She smiled as she sat down near a group of Slytherins who looked like fifth years and a Hufflepuff who she overheard saying he was a prefect.

Demetrius was way beyond happy at this point, "Oh, really?" he said, "That'll be awesome, 'course I'll come" he nodded, "Thought it will have to be in the holidays" he said, matter-of-factly. Demetrius will be getting along well, or more than well, with Lucas. They had the muggle thing in common, and that was quite important to Demetrius.

He couldn't help to laugh, "Well, I guess that's good, right?" he asked, "It's always nice to know someone older than you, they might get you out of trouble" and that was what he learned after many years of having an older sister.

Oh, no. The cat was back. But Nancy was nice to have around, even if she brought her cat along, "Hey Nancy! I'm a Slytherin, see? What did I tell you? I told you I was going to be in Slytherin" he was speaking so fast he hoped Nancy understood what he said, "Hi, Chistery, is it?" he asked, looking from the cat to Nancy, trying to make sure it was the cat's name.

The cat's name reminded him of something, "Oh, and I finally gave my owl a name" he nodded, with a smile, "I named him Phinneas" he said, "Uncle Dracen helped me with names and the owl seemed to like that name, so that's the one it got" he explained, though she probably didn't to know the details.

He nodded and giggled. He was going to have the house full for the holidays with all the people that he had invited over. "Yes it will be a lot of fun. Me you and Theo can play all day long." He said looking over at his best friend with his tiny little bat on his goblet. Lucas found this sight amusing and pleasing, it gave him a real tickle. "We should be friends." Lucas told Demetrius. He liked him.

"Yeah he knows everyone so if you want to make friends you can start with Nico. He can introduce you to everyone." Lucas told him.

"Sounds perfect" he said, "Friends, absolutely" he nodded with a big smile on his face. Demetrius didn't comment much on the Nico thing, he'll introduce himself later to him, he simply nodded when Lucas mentioned him.

There was something he couldn't help to ask, "So, Lucas, do you have any older sisters or brothers that have been here at Hogwarts?" he asked, "You know, just to know what to expect" a shrug came to his shoulders as he mentioned that.

"Good then. I like making new friends and I think we will be good friends." Lucas said with a smile as he washed down his food with some apple juice. He hated pumpkin juice.

Lucas looked at him. "Thats my sister Willow shes a second year, and thats my uncle Liam, hes a sixth year." He pointed to each of them in turn. "My aunt Tommy went to here too but she left last year and went back to Ghana. Then my other aunt Emily went here too but she left too." he explained.

On attempting to leave the table, Jared turned around and walked into a girl's back. Well, it was the Caster blood inside of him that made him like this. Clumsy. Like he was going to blame it on himself. Gush, what world are you from? Smiling quite politly for him, he said clearly, "Oh, I do apologize. Are you alright?" Maybe that was a bit too polite...

Theo giggled when Lukey took another forkful. "Lukey you are eating all my mashy tato." He took another forkful of it, himself. "Tis good dough. Keep eating. It'll make you big and tall my mummy says."

Walking gracefully into the room, Kiera peered around trying to figure out the inner-workings of Hogwarts. She had only ever been to one school, Beauxbâtons, but that was only for a year, when she was eleven, so she was slightly rusty. Her hazel eyes fell upon a large banner suspended in midair, containing the emblem of her house. With a small smirk, she strutted over, gazing over the extremely long table, her eyes finally fell upon Samuel. With a smile creeping upon her lips, she walked over to the place in which he was sitting.

Sitting gracefully next to him, she let her smile dissappear, she couldn't let him know what she was thinking now, could she? "Why, hello there," Kiera uttered, a smirk twitching at the corner of her lips. With that she reached over to a jug of water, and poured herself a glass with a slender hand. Taking a sip she let the refreshing liquid slide down her throat. Then, she set the glass back onto the table infront of her, water still sitting in it.

Freya stared at Lucy upon hearing her 'nickname', "Yeah," she said in a stiff voice, "maybe it's best if you don't call me that again." her eyes becoming quite pale. "No offense, but I hate when people slaughter my name." she finished, swirling her knife absentmindedly in her goblet of water and making it freeze. "And yeah, I think you should try out next year, it's worth a shot." she replied to Penelope, still not looking up.

sam walked into the great hall rubbing his eyes from the sleep he had just had on the train journey he walked over to the slytherin table.
tucking his shirt in and sorting out his tie he sat down. Looking around to see if he saw any faces that he kmew....then again who was sam kidding he didnt have friends, he was the bully that everyone hated..wel so everyone thought.
