Freya looked up as a new boy entered the Great Hall. 'Socializing isn't so bad' she thought to herself, 'Might as well make a habit of it and see what happens.' "Hi there," Freya said in good spirit to the boy, "Nice to meet you, I'm Freya."

Sam turned to see to his amazment a girl talking to him. smiling slightly she looked about the same age which was good becuase sam couldn't stand 1st years.
clearing his throat he answer
"Hi Freya, I'm Samuel, but you can call me Sam.....you ermmm looking forward to the new year" he asked trying to start a convosation

"Samuel, Sam, got it." Freya said with a small smile. "I'm very much looking forward to the year, even thought it'll be my first term here. How about you? Are you eager for classes to start?" Freya asked good heartedly.

sam smiled when she told him it was her fierst year here
"Well i hope everything goes smoothly for you here, did for me for the first couple of years...as for me and classes, ha not really my thing" he said moving over so that she could sit down
"food?" hesaid handing her a plate.

"Oh, that's too bad, I love learning." Freya said as she heard Samuel say classes 'Were not his thing'. She sat down next to Sam. "Oh, thank you." she said taking the plate. "I was too busy talking to eat much before." Freya reached across the long table and took several large pieces of meat and more potatoes. "You've been going to Hogwarts for a while now, I'm guessing?" Freya asked as she cut up her meat, "How do you like it here?"

{ooc- Freya is seventeen, starting as a sixth year.She was home-schooled, but she needs two years of 'formal education' for post-graduate training, I'll explain more later maybe :-) }

sam smerk when he heard her say she loved to read.
"im very sure you'll opinon will change on some subject when your meet the teachers here, the only class i ever go to is Professor Pierces which is charms and even then i go after class.........i dont mix with other very well you see"
sam said taking a angry bite out of his chicken.

"and yeah ive been here for ...well ths will be my sixth year now, im taking it your tansfering from somwhere else, because theres no way your a first year.
Your way to pretty,and to tall"
he said smiling.

Turning her face and keeping her expression blank Star eyed the girl. "I don't need your sympathy. Sympathy denotes a weakness in the one receiving it. And for the record, I am far from down in the dumps." Inside she was ecstatic. Away from her mother and in a place where she could assert her own personality. However caustic that personality might be.

Hearing a boy address her, Star turned her head to face him and gave a curt nod. She was making far too much conversation already. No need to use words where not necessary. Though she would make several words if the food didn't get here soon.

Freya smirked at his last comment, "You sweet-talker," she said with a laugh. "Yeah, I was homeschooled before this. And believe me, I think Hogwarts will be a breeze compared to what I had to put up with at home." she imitated her mothers voice, 'What are you doing? Stop that, do it over! Wrong! One-hundred more, we'll be doing this until five in the morning if you don't complete it perfectly.' "Ugh" she said taking back her own voice, "She's such a lunatic. Worst part is, is that even if I do it right the first time, which is most of the time, I have to do everything over again, and again, and again. She belongs in prison I think." Freya said as an afterthought.

"Glad to hear it! Really...I am." Freya said quickly before turning to Samuel once more.

Lilianna poured herself a goblet of pumpkin juice and looked around the great hall and giggled when she heard a girl mocking her mother.

Picking up a nearby fork, Claira begun to twiddle with it as she gazed around the table. Everyone else was talking to the others at the Slytherin table, maybe even at every house table. It was annoying. Trying to think of something to bring up to try to strike up a conversation, Claira gazed over at a group nearby and caught the word 'prison' being uttered. She frowned as she tried to think of what they could be talking about. Her immediate thought would be that someone's parents or a relative had been either thrown into a muggle prison or Azkaban. Curiously, she turned her attention to that group of people at the table and listened to what they were saying.

sam laughed as she explained her mother to him " haha, well that doesnt sound liek too much fun, my mother just sent me here when u was 11 and ive learnt as much as i could in the time ive been here, which isnt alot" sam said smiling cheekly
"and I'm not sweet talking hun, I'm just telling the truth." he said grinning

"so then....you fancy coming for a walk later tonight..ill so you all the secrect passageway, gets you out of the way of all the prefects at night.

This was what Freya was waiting for, "You know where the passageways are?!" she asked, clearly thrilled. "I've been asking people about them all week, even before I got here. I was going to wander around myself one night and look for them, but if you could show me that's great too. How many do you know of?" Freya paused for a second, "And what's up with the forest on school grounds? Are we allowed to enter it or not?" she asked again, hoping she wasn't too pushy.

Freya glanced sideways at a student near her. She knew what was going on, eavesdropper. Having plenty of experience in it herself, Freya paid little attention at first, but would be more cautious of what she said.

sam grinned as he saw her eyes light up
"ahhh, so your interested, well i know were a couple are i cant say all one them cus then we'll have them being blocked off wont we?"
sam said

"The forest...wow we are interested aren't we, yeah you can go in there, loads of people are in there along with the otherthings"
Sam lied, as a evil smerk cam arcoss his face.
"more chicken?" he said handing her the bowl.

Freya glared at him, she could feel her eyes growing pale. "You lier." she said shortly, "I've asked students about the forest at the Leaky Cauldron, we aren't allowed in there. You might want to rethink your answers before trying to force feed me poison, nice try though." Freya finished as she looked at the bowl, "No thanks," she said "I'm nearly full."
Freya gave Sam another sideways glance, "But I still want to go in the forest, even if we aren't allowed. I can handle it." she said, her eyes slowly returning to their normal colour.

Clifford was hungry ... but then again, when wasn't he hungry? Heh. He was a growing boy and one of his favourite places in the world had to be the Great Hall. Really, those house elves were GENIUS!

Taking a deep breath and breathing in all the nummy nummy smells, Clifford made his way toward the Slytherin table, hunting for a certain someone.

A certain PREFECT!

And a certain Prefect is what he found. She looked kinda busy though, talking to the younger kids ... maybe it was Prefect work? Sending a sheepish smile in her direction and not wanting to disturb her, Clifford found himself an empty seat.

sam put the bowl back on the table when he knew that she knew he was lieing" Well done you didn't fall for it like all the others, Your correct your not aloud in there and i strongly serjust you do not go in there alone, usless you want ot say in there of course"
Sam said
"as you can see i dont like OTHER people, your not a Mud-blood are you?" he said turning his nose up.

"I'm not afraid of going in there alone." Freya said bluntly, "I've seen enough to not be afraid of anything really, man or beast."
Freya looked at him with her steely eyes, "What would you do if I said I was?" she asked boldly, lying through her teeth. "And in any case, if I were a 'mud-blood'" she imitated his voice, "I wouldn't be talking to you." Freya stared into her goblet again, "I really don't know much about muggles, at all. I've only seen them a couple of times. And as of last week I didn't know many other witches and wizards, aside from my mother and team members of course."

sam stared at her " then i would have to make sure you were in this school for very long...." he said sharply
"but seeing you arent then i think were going to get on just fine" sam said with a little smile.
"look im off now i have some thing ive got to sort out., meet me in the common later yes?" said sam standing up

Freya sighed, "I guess..." she said in a jesterly voice, standing up as well, she was much taller than Sam...poor thing. "See you later." Freya finished as she strolled back over to where Lucy and Penelope were and taking a seat with them, resuming her conversation with them.

Now that was one voice he could never fail to ignore. Looking up from the bread roll he was picking to pieces, Samuel aknowlaged her with a small smile. Sure that was a little unlike him, but his stomach was turning unpleasantly at the smell and sight of all the meat around him. "I didn't see you on the train." He said, very matter of factly. He'd missed her slightly, but he wasn't going to admit it to her there and then. Maybe as time progressed..?

His eyes caught onto a spot on the side of her mouth. Was there a hint of a smile? Most probably. But it was just annoying for him that he wasn't able to keep one of his own down whenever he saw her.

Lillianna sat at the Slytherin table sipping her pumpkin juice and watching all the students around her. She brushed a long blonde hair form her face and looked around picking up her goblet every now and then and taking a sip.

Freya looked up from her two friends, noticing a girl who was brushing her hair away, rather quickly too...'At a dinner table?! With food around?!' Freya said to herself, 'Ugh.' Leaning to the side so that she was better able to face her Freya responded, "Hi, I'm Freya...and I would appreciate it if you wouldn't brush your hair around here like that." still trying to sound as polite as possible. "It's nice to meet you otherwise." Freya finished with a friendly smile.

Miles laughed at Evolette's popularity. She had been here for like what, one hour? Maybe two? Although he wasn't exactly suprised, she was a good friend to have, especially when you were a guy. A girl .. it owuld be a bit more of a struggle. But Evolete was always happy to have people around her, and thinking to herself when she was the prettiest. Miles liked to think that it was different when himself, Hugo or Terry were there, then the beautifulness was shared.

He beamed as she turned to see him, happy that she wasn't too busy with people. "So ..." Miles smirked, and indicated the hall. "How's Hogwarts?" Surely she'd be a little over-whelmed by it all? He was, but then again Miles got excited over the little things that mattered.

Claira caught the glance from the student she had been eavesdropping on and frowned, her nose wriggling unsurely as she discussed with herself what to do now and if their conversation was in anyway as interesting as she had hoped. Finding it not that interesting for herself, she turned back to her fork and begun to twirl around between her fingers, looking around the table at the other faces. She spotted the same girl telling another girl to not brush her hair from her face like she had and frowned. Odd. Looking around the table to look at the others, she watched a girl sipping water who was talking to a boy who was picking at a bread roll. Was everyone friends around here already? It was beginning to irritate her how everyone else just... talked so freely to others they'd probably never met before. Everyone was doing it.

Turning around from the table, she gazed across the room towards the Gryffindor Table and the corner of her lip twitched slightly. Her mother had been in that house, and her father and step-father had been Hufflepuffs. They'd all figured she'd of been put in either of those two houses but here she was, in Slytherin. But she wasn't complaining one bit. She wouldn't of liked being in Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. As she looked over the crowded room, she stared over at the Ravenclaw House Table. No one she knew. Though, she figured the people she knew would be gone to Beauxbatons or Durmstrang. So Depressing. Turning back around to the table, she returned to poking at a piece of food on her plate.

Lillianna looked at the girl questioningly, "I am not brushing my 'air." she said to Freya. "I was just moveeng my 'air out of my eyes." she added her in her thick french accent. "I'm Lillianna, Eet ees nice to meet you." Lillanna said as she took a sip of her pumpkin juice form her goblet.
