The Leaky Cauldron was one thing, Hogwarts was in a league all it's own. Liam nodded in agreement. “Also a good combination.” Yum. Muggles did have some good uses. To be able to invent something as tasty as Heinz Tomato Ketchup was a proper achievement right up there with Ignatia Wildsmith, inventor of Floo Powder. Absolute genius.
He ate some more and then heard the sudden change tone. He looked up at her, his eyes widening ever so slightly. Oh god. He'd upset a girl. He swallowed his potato slowly, his throat a bit dry all of a sudden. 'Please don't cry; please don't cry' he started repeating in his head hoping to somehow will her not to indeed cry.
He shook his head. “I don't think that.” Not much anyway. “Nerves effect us all in different ways.” Right? Oh pants. “Well that should change this year, hopefully.” he said giving her a small smile. “I'm Liam by the way. Liam Greenwood. I'm a fifth year.” he told her. “I only started last year and I'm in much the same boat as you... not knowing many people.” He explained hoping to make her feel a little better and prevent the water works. Gulp.

Gulp. Freya looked up again, noticing the boy looked a little distressed, she knew why though. "Don't worry," Freya told him, "I don't cry, I don't think I ever have now that I think of it." So he was fairly new to Hogwarts as well? "I'm Freya Skyler," she replied holding out her hand in greeting, "I'm starting as a sixth year, I'm seventeen though. Forgive me for not acting my age, I guess now would be a good time to start." She said with a nearly invisible smile. "Well," she continued, "at least you know people your own age. I know more first years than anyone else as of now."

Even I cried back then.” he smirked, visibly relieved that the waterworks looked less and less likely to happen.
“It's a pleasure to meet you Freya.” he said honestly, taking her hand and shaking it. “How come you're a year behind?” he asked with interest, picking up his juice and taking a swig as he looked at her.
He laughed at her next comment. “Who wants to act their age?” Liam was like a seven year old trapped in a fifteen year old's body. “Well you know me now.” he nodded at her. “And I know you... so that's one more person over the age of eleven you can add to your list.” he grinned. He wasn't going to admit that most of the people he knew were Lucas's wee friends.

Crying is not allowed at my home, neither is whining." Freya looked at her hands again, a drop of blood was coming from the corner of her finger. "This happens when I get nervous, I tear my skin open. Nothing to worry about." she said wiping off the blood and then healing the wound. "Well, I was home-schooled until this year by my mom. I finally persuaded her into letting me come to a public school. And all the post-graduate programs I want to attend would like me to attend at least two years of 'formal education'. I expect Hogwarts to be a breeze compared to my mothers way of teaching." She paused for a second and focused on what Liam had said last. Freya chuckled a little, "Well, I have to act my age at home, but as soon as I got into Diagon Alley that rule went out the window." She finished, looking much more cheerful, which was long overdue.

Wasn't she allowed to eat too or was he just going to keep her hands for the entire feast.
"I think it will stay here.....but then pudding," She giggled, pudding was her favourite bit of the meal. "I wonder if they'll be sticky toffee pudding," She pondered as she ate another tomoto. "Tis my favourite," She giggled as she looked up at him.
"Yup. Home sweet Hogwarts," She grinned, quite happy that she had thought of that. "Of course you weren't." He smirked and picked up some fries with his falk. Miles wasn't particually fond of chips, but they were yummy enough. And he could eat anything! How he loved it, he had never been a person to gain weight. Miles pouted. "Awww, You going back to your own table for pudding?" He believed that pudding was only there if you were'nt full yet, but main meal was the best.
"Awww. Profiteroles are my fave." Miles grinned, just thinking about them made his mouth water. He then glanced around the table, he hadn't done this yeat since he was too busy eating. He spotted Evolette and smiled, he hadn't seen her since Diagon Alley. Miles waved in her general direction. "Hey Evolette." He said, hoping she wasn't too busy flirting with some innocent Slytherin guy. |

He listened to her, his dark eyes widening as he noticed she was bleeding. Merlin's beard and he thought his dad was strict. He was like Mary Poppins compared to what this girl had to put up with. “Here.” he said handing her a napkin, a concerned frown etched onto his face as he looked at her. “School should do you good.” he told her gently. “Get you used to things before you go off to university.” He gulped again, still a little taken aback by what he had just heard. “What subject are you specialising in on your post grad?”
He smirked at her when she seemed to cheer a little at his comment.

Lord knows I could do with the social skills." Her eyes seemed to brighten a little bit when she was asked what she wanted to study. "I suppose I want to take courses in healing...that among other things, maybe researching more. I've always been gifted in transfiguration and potions, so the healing career would be good I figure. I already have training in my healing skills too, advanced healing actually."
Something was still bothering her in the back of her mind though, she had to get things straight. "You remember when I said that being blunt, or for use of a better term, rude, was my way of being sympathetic?...I wasn't lying you know. That's how I've been raised, how I've been treated."
She looked up from her healed wound. "What are you hoping to do after you complete your schooling?" she asked Liam. Figuring it was time to know more about the person she was conversing with.
Glancing up at the staff table, Freya noticed a woman enter and sit in the largest and center chair, leaning towards Liam slightly Freya asked, "Is that the headmistress?"

Jude plopped hisself down near one of the ends of Slytherin table, his eyes wide, his mind racing.
This wasn't just everything Marty had told him about, it was so much more. So real, so huge, so beautiful. And this was only the great hall, which also had so much food, he was staring at all the wonderful sights he nearly forgot how hungry he was.
Grabbing some corn on the cob and a fair share of beans, Jude began to nibble away happily, before adding a chicken leg and mashed potatoes to the mix.

The only thing so far that worried him... was the lack of chocolate milk at the table. But that was survivable. He was finally here, finally at Hogwarts! It was nerve wrecking, to be sure... he was slightly nervous. He'd heard that Slytherin House had a bad reputation, and now he was part of their ranks... He hoped it didn't stop him from making friends or anything. One thing was for sure... just because he was in Slytherin didn't mean that Raiden was gonna be any less nice to people. He grinned. He'd turn that Slytherin stereotype around, if it was still believed. He was sure of it. After the educational flop that last term had been, Evangeline was even happier than usually to be back at Hogwarts. No more only girls' school, no more psycho Ministry teachers, no more weird lessons. YAY! Hogwarts was officially back.
Trying to keep her nerves off the equation, she walked down the Slytherin table, nodding at some students and smiling at the sight of the first years. They were quite alot, hopefully they weren't the troublemaking kind. And they looked sooo small. Definitely smaller than she had been. Poor things.
She stopped on her heels when she caught sight of one particular first year, a boy, that she was pretty sure was the one that had bumped into her in the train. He kinda had disappeared after that, and she still wondered whether he had been hurt or not.
Taking a seat next to him, her lips curled up as she scanned him for any visible wounds but found none. Well, that was good at least. "Hey there. Remember me?" She asked as she got herself some Pumpkin juice. "From the train?" |

Your social skills don't seen that bad to me.” he replied dismissively. “My second eldest brother went in for healing. He works at St Mungos these days. You have to be a certain sort of person to go in for such a career. Don't think I could ever do it.” he shrugged. “But I admire anyone who does." "So you'll be useful to have around should any unfortunate accidents happen during Defence Against the Dark Arts class, eh?" he grinned. If they were, indeed, allowed to duel this year. “It's ok.” he said. “You don't have to explain yourself to me.”
“Me? I've never really thought about it before.” He pondered for a minute. Liam was a pretty average student, he wasn't sure what he would be able to go in for with his grades. “Maybe working for the Ministry. In the Quidditch Division or something.” Seemed logical. Quidditch was Liam's favourite thing... after Heinz Tomato Ketchup that is.
His eyes followed Freya's to the staff table and landed on the woman she was referring to. “I've no idea. I've never seen the woman before what with the school divide last year.” ooc: Gotta go. I'll be back later. Thanks for the rp hun

Raiden looked up from picking at his plate and smiled brightly at the taller girl. Of course he remembered her. He'd run into her, hadn't he? Raiden wasn't one to forget anyone's face.
"I ran into you," he said lightly. "Were you alright? I didn't hurt you or nothing, did I? 'cause I knocked over a girl in Diagon Alley and I didn't hurt her..." He wasn't sure if not hurting the first one meant that he wouldn't hurt any that he knocked over through the course of his life. "I'm Raiden Kururugi."
He added on the last bit, remembering that it was probably polite to introduce yourself to people you ran into on trains. He couldn't recall if he'd told her his name afterwards... he couldn't remember much of the train ride, as he had gone into a compartment and had fallen asleep accidentally. Part of him wished that he hadn't, because, well... you can't make friends while you're sleeping, can you? But he had to accept the fact that he'd missed out on making friends on the train, and dive headfirst into making friends here and now. Starting with this nice lady person. |

Casper sauntered into the great hall. He stood in the back of the room, viewing the sight in front of him. Four long tables, and a slightly shorter one up front that seemed to be for professors and other staff members. He glanced at each of the long tables, finally figuring out that the one on the end, was actually the Slytherin's table. And that that was the one he wanted.
After walking over to the table, Casper took a seat, near the end of it. He stared at all the food in awe.
Woah.
There was so much food and it all looked so very good. This was so much different than his home life. Ophelia couldn't cook for her life, so he trained himself to not really taste the food in front of him. Well, this is going to change. Casper reached over and piled some food on his plate. He wasn't even sure what it was, but it tasted amazing.
If the food was this good, the school must be amazing.

Aaah, the little boy smiled too! Evangeline mentally added that to the list of things that proved the boy was okay. Of course, he could have some delayed reaction that would only affect him later, but at least he wasn't bleeding like that other girl. The last thing she needed was some rumour running around about how the new Slytherin Prefect randomly hurt people in the train. Eh.
Evangeline's own smile seemed to widen when he asked her if she had been alright and she waved her hand dismissively, as if to show him she was just fine. "You didn't hurt me, I assure you." She said with a firm nod, taking a sip from her juice before getting the glass back onto the table. "What about you? Were you hurt?" She asked him, sounding concerned, but the most amused twinkle lit up her eyes. Awww, the innocence of the 11 year old. How cute. "Maybe you have some kind of special talent for bumping into people and not hurting them." It was quite a handy talent to have, once you thought about it. Evangeline wouldn't mind to have it.
"Nice to meet you, Raiden Kururugi." She grinned when he introduced himself, getting herself a breadstick. "I'm Evangeline. Evangeline Green." |

"So you'll be useful to have around should any unfortunate accidents happen during Defence Against the Dark Arts class, eh?" he grinned.
Thanks for the rp hun "Oh," Freya exclaimed in interest, "What kind of accidents might that be?" she asked curiously with a smile that showed nearly all of her pearly whites. 'Surely we won't be doing any actual dueling?! That would be one of the highlights of the year if we were!' She thought to herself with glee.
Freya sighed, "Oh that's right. I forgot that the schools were divided last year. I've heard several students mention that already. Glad I wasn't here for that." She added with a crooked smile that she wore every now and again. Freya's attention was held when Liam mentioned siblings, "What's it like having brothers and sisters?" she asked politely. Freya was finally starting to feel much better again, more like herself. Taking a deep breath she sat easily in her seat for the first time since arriving.
{ooc-gotcha, no problem, later}

Evangeline Green." Raiden shook his head, still grinning.
Embarrassed and not getting a response, Helena walked down the side of the table, still a little flushed. Finally, she reached a boy who looked slightly older than she. Smiling, her blue eyes shining, Helena walked over to where he was sitting. Excuse me, Helena said politely, her Bulgarian accent shining through proudly, Is this seat taken? Okay, so maybe it wasn't just wanting to sit down. Helena really wanted someone to talk to; someone to befriend. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Claira Anima Second Year |
With her long, brown hair tied back into a tight bun and her eyes cold as ice; Claira seemed to glide towards the Slytherin House Table and perched herself down upon the end of the bench, making sure she had a quick escape from this boring meeting of the school and feast, introduction of staff members and all that. It bored her to tears and she just wanted to get out of there. Though, she would have to say it was better to be in Hogwarts than back at home with... family.
Claira hated her family; Her parents, or should she say her mother and step-father, didn't understand her and her brother was very annoying. It was better to be surrounded by people of her own age and older than by her little brother, who was two years younger than her.
Looking down at the table, she sighed. She was already missing her Rare cooked meat and glass of pumpkin juice to wash it all down. But oh-well. She'd have to do with what she got here. Turning her gaze to the people dotted around her at the table, she gave a deeper sigh. Maybe she'd make a friend, maybe not. She was uncertain if she would or not. She figured it was best not to worry about that. Friends would come, that's how her parents and mother and step-dad met. They started out as friends and if people like her mom and step-dad could make friends, it wouldn't be too difficult for her.

"Quite," Nico agreed, "since i'm sure you find it fairly amusing when they all line up and try their best to melt your heart." speaking of which Nico was intrigued to meet her boyfriend, since quite clearly he had managed to do so.
Nicholai stared in horror at his hand as this Tease person put it in his mouth. In. His. Mouth.
Nico pulled back his hand and immediately dunked it in the glass of water before him while wrestling his wand free from his pocket. Once his wand was out he pointed it at his dripping hand furiously casting scourgify over and over until his skin was pink.
He looked between Evolette and mouth boy in disgust and stood up.
"Excuse me Evolette." Nicholai spoke coolly through a clenched jaw; physically holding himself back from doing something stupid. Not on the first day.
Scourgify wasn't nearly enough- he had to go wash his hand. After having to spend a tremendous amount of time cleaning his school shoes just outside the Great Hall, Seth finally entered the room in a bit of a bad mood. Wait. Where prefects allowed being seen in a bad mood? It’d be entirely impossible not to have some type of angst-like mood once and a while if it was so. I mean, how couldn’t he be mad at ending up stepping in gnome dung that shouldn’t have been where he had stepped in it in the first place? It was totally not his fault that a pile of gnome droppings just magically happened to get right in his path. Brainless gnomes.
Taking a quick glance down at his now squeaky clean black shoes, he sighed and put on a smile. Whatever. He’d get revenge on those gnomes later. Or he’d hunt down that lazy caretaker and teach him a thing or two about keeping this place clean. It would be a whole lot easier just for that man to clean up after those stupid creatures than having to listen to Merlin knows how many students yelling at him for not doing his job. Yelling sounded like a lot of fun, but gnome chucking sounded even better. Shame that was sort of against school rules; such a good exercising activity was being wasted right there....
He stopped walking just about five feet from the huge doorway, straightened his recently polished prefect badge, and looked around the hall. Where should he sit? He could always do the whole traditional thing and sit with his fellow Hufflepuffs, but he wanted a change. Anyway, it wasn’t like he was completely going to abandon his own House. Right? That would be mad – like Azkaban prisoner or a St. Mungo’s patient mad. Nevertheless, change was what he needed right now. Anyway, he had been invited to sit with Nicholai and his group of friends at the Slytherin table on the train. And who was he not to accept that offer?
Looking this way and that, Seth’s feet started to glide toward the Slytherin table, completely ignoring the fact that he could just make a mad dash through the Hufflepuff table to show off the new badge. Nah. They all probably knew right now of his boost in school ranks so it would not be much fun at all really. He’d still have the first years to dazzle with the badge – including a few ‘stories’ here and there – but he wasn’t in the mood for going face-to-face with the little rabid things at the moment.
Aha! There was Nicholai now, pink hands and all. Hang on. Pink? Even from a distance Seth could see that something had happened to the sixth year. Strange. Was it normal for kids to end up having pink hands? He quickly peeked down at his own hands to make sure. Nope. His hands were tan, barely any pinkness to them at all. Shrugging the whole pink hand deal off, he patted a hand on the Slytherin’s back a couple of times and sat down right next to him. With his blue eyes twinkling and a customary smile on his face, he said, “’Sup, Nicholai?”

If the food was this good, the school must be amazing. After getting a negative reaction from the Ravenclaw (and what do you expect, networking outside the green spectrum), Lola, having had a taste of her own medicine, danced back to her own table, soft honey-spun curls dancing merrily at the nape of her shoulder-blades. Her mood wasn't demeaned by the lack of veggie-friendly dishes---oh simply nothing could sever joy of having a whole Hogwarts again. It felt so like a collage. As if the two schools rammed and combined with each other over the holidays. "I fancy I did feel a tremor in the ground," she mused, chuckling wryly.
"Hello, hi, hello," she grinned, waving spontaneously at this group and that, feeling no pressure at the fact that she didn't or barely knew these people. Lola wasn't one to associate much. She dare say, was always in the wrong places at the wrong times, a fault she insisted was 'suffering for her art'. Calling it 'shy' would be vastly inappropriate. Dramatic little frown.
But the good mood. It was such a delicious fruit that Lola couldn't wait to sink her teeth in. She wanted to socialize. Giggle. Flirt. Every young actress needed that 'childhood friend' that impacted them in such-and-such a way.
"Pardon, is this seat taken?" her lips pursed into a confused smile as she daintily pointed at a free seat next a dark-haired fifth year with a cocked brow. "I dare say I came rather late, so suffice it to say most everywhere's taken." She rolled her eyes, a good-natured grin plastered on her, surprisingly, bright red lips. Fancy that. A fourth year with red lipstick. Quote:

In addition to the neighboring youth, Lola noted a girl that looked no younger than her, with a rather striking accent. Some eastern brogue. Lola could never imagine such coming from her rather high voice. Yet she admired the foreigners all the same. Something so exotic. The whole thing's just beautiful, really. As it was, the girl was about to shake her Slytherin robes off in fright...or discouragement. Oh, the road of a first-timer. Lola smiled comfortingly. "Lola Demesne, darl, and you are?" Always speak first. Show them no intimidation.

Casper looked from his food to see a girl, maybe a year or so younger than himself. He shook his head quickly. "Nope." He moved over, making room for her at the table. He grinned in a friendly sort of way. He could always use a friend, being in a new school was a bit difficult. "I'm Casper Sailyre, by the way." He added, picking up his goblet. He took a drink of his pumpkin juice. And glanced back at the girl. He wasn't sure if she had asked to seat there merely because she needed a place to seat, or because she wanted conversation.
Casper didn't mind either way. Quote:

"It's all yours." He offered, looking down the table. He hadn't realized the table was so crowded. He smiled back to this girl. "Casper Sailyre." He introduced himself.
He hated introducing himself. It wasn't that he didn't like his name or something. But Casper, sounded foreign to his lips. Obviously, he didn't go around talking in third person, so it always felt so weird saying his name.

Evangeline chuckled when Raiden promised her he wasn't hurt after bumping into her. She had been worried that he could be hurt somewhere because of her, but now she realised she had no reason to fret. The boy looked as healthy as ever. Being rather clumsy herself, she knew how bruises and such could hurt and she didn't like the boy to be through that. He had just gotten to Hogwarts! He couldn't have such bad memories, after all.
Her grin softened when he stated he'd be sad if he hurt the girls he bumped into and, without really knowing why, she moved her hand to ruffle his hair. There was something just so terribly cute about this boy! "Well, then, be glad you don't hurt them. You're really lucky." He was - Evangeline herself didn't hurt other people either.
She tripped over random things and hurt herself. Eh.
Her name was pretty? Evangeline raised an eyebrow, amusedly as she listened to the boy go on about her name. He was right! It did rhyme! "You know I never noticed it rhymed until now?" She chuckled, shaking her head at her own lack of attention and got some chicken into her plate. "Ooooh. They could, I suppose. Hopefully, good songs and not bad."
Bad songs about her was a big no no. |

Penelope was sitting down by the end of the table. Not knowing who to approach or what to eat. Everytime she saw something she wanted someone else would take it. So she sat there and a tear fell down her cheek. She was silently wishing she had never got her letter.
