Lucas looked at him. "House elves clean the whole castle and cook all the food?" he asked. "Are they free elves and get paid and stuff?" he mother was a avid house elf rights supporter. She raised her children to value the loves of all magical creatures. "We have a house elf. Her name is Tweet, but she is free. I think she is my mommy's friend too. She helps outs around the house, but we still have to clean our rooms, and she cooks when my daddy doesn't" Lucas said. "Me and Tweet are the same size and she wears a dress with polka dots, she loves dots." he told Theo.

"You have a house elf?" Some mashed potato fell out of Theo's open mouth. "We just have mummy. She cleans and stuff. We have to keep our rooms tidy dough." He had always wanted a house elf, even just to look at.

Lucas nodded. "Yeah she makes the best sugar cookies too. She lets me bake with her." He told him. "She is really nice. She doesn't need a wand to use magic. She likes to watch dvds with us on Movie night and butterbeer makes her all giggly and stuff." Lucas said giggling as he remembered the last time Tweet got into the butterbeer.

"Dat sounds like my mummy. She does all dat stuff," Theo said. "She cooks and watches movies wiv us." He ate some more mashed potato. It was really good. He spooned some more on his plate and added more gravy.

Miles happily walked quickly towards the hall and to the feast. This was, of course, one of his favourite time while at Hogwarts. But a the moment, Miles was just happy that it was Hogwarts, and not Cooper's. He spun around a few times, looking around to take it all in again. It was like starting Hogwarts for the second time, only he was one year older, and soon it would be two, Excellent. It was quite a while a go since he was at this school, but he did remember it well. Of course! It was when he met Vannie.

His eyes meeting the Slytherin table, Miles smirked to himself and quickened his pace over towards it. The smell of food overwhelming him, and causing his stomach to rumble. He sat down, and quickly filled his plate, not bothering to be polite. There wasn't many people here anyway.

*Stella eased onto the bench with cat like stealth.* *It was a things that got her into trouble quite often, she was quite and no one ever knew when she entered a room, so many times she had heard things that she wasn’t suppose to especially in her family….they liked to keep secrets.* *Poor’s a glass of Pumpkin Juice, and ads equal portions of mashed potatoes, green beans, and sausage to her plate.* Digs in!*

Vannie giggled as she watched Miles spin around from a couple of metres behind him. Only Miles could do that and look cool. They were back at Hogwarts. Yeeyy and it was going to be a good year. She smiled as she stepped into the grand hall, she'd missed it a lot. She knew exactly where Miles would go and so diverted her path towards the Slytherin table. She grinned as she saw that he was piling up his plate. He could eat so much.
"Gonna save me some?" She smirked as she sat down next to him. At least he ate food, he could have been someone who didn't. "Yummy tomatoes," She giggled as she stuck on in her mouth.

Nikki walked into the great hall and looked up to the ceiling in admiration. Once she put on the sorting hat it took a little time before it landed on Slytherin. She then walked over to the table and sat down.

Paige gracefully strolled into the Great Hall. The first thing she noticed was the ceiling, with its enchanted view of the sky. She slowed her pace so she could appreciate all the other little parts of the hall: the long tables, the hour glasses for points, the smell of the food. She knew she was going to like it here, it was just so... she had no word for it.

Her eyes scanned the tables: red, yellow, blue and green. Picking the last colour, obviously, she made her way towards it. She didn't really know anyone yet, being a fourth year transfer and all, and yet she recognised Evolette, the girl from the train. Seeing as she was the only girl that she knew, Paige sat herself down opposite her.

"Hello again," she said cheerfully. Paige flipped her hair behind her shoulders so that it fluidly spread out across her back. It took her a couple of moments to decide what to take from the table of oh so many food choices, but eventually she took something and started to eat. One bite was enough to bring out a compliment on the school's cooking: "Whoa, they have great food here," she said, putting more food onto her plate.

Amanda looked at all the faces at the table and smirked, this should be an interesting term. A new prefect, new Quidditch Captain and a lot of people she hadn't seen before. She helped herself to some of the food at the table, digging her fork into the mashed potatoes that she just put on her plate and scooping them into her mouth slowly, savouring the taste of them.

Miles slowed down on the food pile and turned to the vouce. He smiled at her and quickly bit into his chicken. "Maaaaybe. But you might have to nick some, and quickly." He smirked and swallowed his chicken. He hated how long the train journey was, and filling up on sweets wasn't good enough. He wanted proper food. Like chicken, and mash potatoes. YUM.

"Oh yeah!" Miles beamed and picked up a tomato. Wait a minute .. Vannie was at the Slytherin table? Well, she was a Slytherpuff, so she was allowed. "You ok? I didn't mean to lose you at the carriages." He frowned, so many people there. He ended up in a carriage with Fallon, which was fine, but he did miss Vannie. But it was only a half hour carriage journey.

Finally back! Nancy was coming into the Great Hall with a whole crowd of other students pushing her further towards the Slytherin House Table. Her House Table. She smiled happily. Finally she was back at Hogwarts, being able to do almost everything she wanted without her parents watching every step she made. They were always so overprotective!
She strode towards the Slytherin Table with her black-and-white kitten in her arms. On her way she was looking for an empty seat but spotted something else. Or better, someone else. Demetrius was sitting among students at the Slytherin House Table. So, he had been sorted into Slytherin. Good for him. She smiled at him, waved and with "Hi, Demetrius!" sat down next to him.

Vannie smiled as she nudged him. "I will be quick," She smirked as she looked down at his food, he did have a lot. Grabbing a fork she took some of the mashed potatoe and ate it. "You really should eat that," She nodded as she ate some more. "Before I do," She giggled, knowing that she wouldn't eat all of it really, it was his food after all.
"Im good," She nodded as she looked up at him. "Its okay," She nodded, at least they had gone to the same school this time. And it wasn't like he wasn't allowed to spend time with some other of his friends. She wasn't that controlling. She smiled as she looked around the great hall. It was good to be back.

Miles nudged Vannie back softly, and raised his eyebrow as she literally did steal his mash potato. What was wrong with getting her own? He laughed lightly grabbed her hands, so she couldn't move them. "Not too much, I'm hungry." He smirked and dipped his falk into his potato. Before he eat anymore, he brought his lips to hers and kissed her quickly, and then continued to eat.

Mies then let go of her hands, she'd suffered enough. "I hope the food stays here for a while. I could eat it all." He snickered, and started on some chicken. Nomnomnom. Miles turned to face his Hufflepuff and smiled. "Atleast it's Hogwarts right?" He said, and kissed her again. Surely this was the best thing ever at the moment, but no term was perfect. Something would happen soon, Miles knew.

Freya looked at the girl who had just arrived, she looked pretty shy, wasn't talking to anyone. 'Might as well try to be friendly with my fellow students.' Freya thought to herself, she had conversations in her mind with herself a lot now that she thought about it. Leaning towards the girl, Freya held out her hand, "Hello, I'm Freya Skyler, nice to meet you. Welcome to Slytherin.", she said as politely as she could without sounding fake. Tilting her head quickly to the girl near her who was chowing down on food, "And this is Lucy."

Star takes a seat at the long Slytherin table. She felt an unfamiliar feeling of warmth as she took her seat. Perhaps it was that she was finally here. Away from her mother. Perhaps it was because she knew that food would be arriving soon and she was famished. Or, perhaps it was because her kitten, Morgana, was curled up on her lap.
Casually she looked around the great hall. It seemed nice enough, though there were a few first years at other tables she thought could have done with a few lessons on etiquette. Hiding a sneer she gently stroked the kitten sleeping peacefully on her lap. When would the food get here? Perhaps Hogwarts House Elves weren't encouraged to be speedy like her family's elf. She would be wringing her pilliowcase dress in fear right now if she had taken this long. Oh well, when in Rome.
She would not make eye contact with others at the table this evening. She'd approach people in class and make aquaintances there. The numbers would be fewer and spirits would not be as... Festive. This atmosphere didn't suit her.

Alex walked in and sat down at the table. Another year another feast. Alex poured himself a pumkin juice and wished for butterbeer. Alex looked to staff table and waved to Cassandra smiling. And Erickson is there...ggggrrrr

Freya glanced sideways and down at the new girl who had taken a seat at the long table, speaking in a dull tone without looking at her, Freya said, "Well, don't try too hard to be happy. Goodness knows it's bad for your health." ,she examined her long nails as she brought her attention back to Lucy. Freya knew at that moment that this was the house she belonged in, no doubt was in her mind now. Thankfully her attitude and confidence was finally starting to come back to her again as well.

Vannie giggled but before she knew it he had got her hands. Acckk! Now she couldn't eat his mash! and it was soo nice tooo. "I wasn't going to," She stuck her tongue out at him. Of course he was hungry. He was a guy. Weren't they always hungry. She smiled as he kissed her and then she watched him begin to eat again, while he was still holding her hands. Wasn't she allowed to eat too or was he just going to keep her hands for the entire feast.
"I think it will stay here.....but then pudding," She giggled, pudding was her favourite bit of the meal. "I wonder if they'll be sticky toffee pudding," She pondered as she ate another tomoto. "Tis my favourite," She giggled as she looked up at him.
"Yup. Home sweet Hogwarts," She grinned, quite happy that she had thought of that.

Taking a deep breath, then exhaling slowly Star raised one eyebrow and continued to stroke Morgana, who remained oblivious to her surroundings. Not looking up she kept her voice to a cold, low whisper. "Are you a medic? Perhaps you should be concerned with your own health before advising me on mine." Star knew that it was the personality of this house to be snide and sarcastic. She expected it from classmates. She would give as good as she got.

Liam noticed Alex sitting opposite and nodded at the older lad. “Alright mate. Have a nice summer?” he asked as he shovelled some more of his mashed potato, gravy and tomato ketchup concoction into his mouth.

He glanced briefly over at yet another tiny student who had joined them at the table (this was mental) before going back to his food. Man, he was famished... again.

His looked up from his food overhearing an older girl speaking to the firstie in rather an uncalled for manner. He frowned and fixed his black eyes on the older girl. “Erm... you make a habit of picking on first years or something?” ...Fer god's sake He'd seen it all now. He shook his head and went back to playing with his food, adding some more ketchup and mixing it in. Yum. He picked up his glass and had a swig of pumpkin juice, squinting towards the staff table. No sign of Lord Borr... thank Merlin.

Raiden quietly found a seat at his new House Table and sat down, smiling to himself. He spied Vannie Corbette sitting a few seats down, with the boy from the Leaky Cauldron, but it would be rude to interrupt... he waited, spooning a bit of food onto the plate in front of him and nibbling at it. The only thing so far that worried him... was the lack of chocolate milk at the table. But that was survivable. He was finally here, finally at Hogwarts! It was nerve wrecking, to be sure... he was slightly nervous. He'd heard that Slytherin House had a bad reputation, and now he was part of their ranks... He hoped it didn't stop him from making friends or anything. One thing was for sure... just because he was in Slytherin didn't mean that Raiden was gonna be any less nice to people. He grinned. He'd turn that Slytherin stereotype around, if it was still believed. He was sure of it.

"Actually, I have some training now that you mention it." Freya said to the girl. Strangely enough, Freya couldn't help but become a little more cheerful with the response she received. It was somewhat enlightening to be honest. The girl would fit in perfectly from what Freya knew about the house, hopefully she would too.

Freya looked at the student who had addressed her, "Oh no." she replied "I just hate seeing people so down in the dumps when everyone else around seems perfectly fine. That's just my way of being sympathetic...I guess. And I have a few 'friends' that are first years anyway." Seeing what the boy was doing with his food, Freya couldn't resist a small smile. It didn't gross her out at all, she'd just never seen a combination like that before.

Theo saw a new girl sit down at the table. He smiled at her, "Hello. I am Feodore. I am a first year Slyvverin. Are you a first year too?"

“Yeah. Sounded that way.” Liam replied sarcastically. So much for Slytherin being a house of all round wholesome intelligent and slick human beings as Katelyn had put it so very very well. Well.. every one of the houses must have their bad eggs he supposed.

He saw her expression soften towards the firstie and hoped that would be the end of it. No need for confrontation on the first night of school.

He shovelled some more tasty tomatoey gravery potato in his mouth and couldn't help but notice the girl was watching him. He looked up again. “It's good. You should try it.” It truly was. “Tomato ketchup goes well with anything.” he stated. This was also true.
