"Is it that obvious?" she asked him. "I"m just so beat. I'm ready to crawl into a warm bed and just pass out." she said in between yawns. "Sorry, about that" she said stretching.

Toshi smiled and Jenn.
"I`m in second Year now, and you? I love the fact that boys and grils are now together in one school, it was a bit strange last year, when boys and girls were in seperate schools..."
He reached out for a chocolate muffen and stowed it into his mouth.

Raiden looked around for the source of the new voice; it was another Ravenclaw girl, who also looked to be about his age. She introduced herself as Meredith. He smiled brightly at her and held out his other hand to her.

"Hiya Meredith, nice to meet you," he said happily. "I'm a firstie, yeah. And you're right, I'm a Slytherin!"

He liked this. Meeting nice, smiling, not mean people. What had happened at the Gryffindor Table had just been a snag in the night. He'd stumbled a bit over it, but now, everything would be just fine. He was back to making friends again.

Annoyed she'd been caught by Cully outside and was now running late for the meal, Star slid into a seat at the Ravenclaw table, slightly out of breath. Running her fingers through her blonde hair she moaned softly; it had decided it didn't want to stay straight, as she'd hoped, but had curled violently.

Darn the family genes!

Pursing her lips, she began working through the knots the curls had caused, annoyed to no end.

"Nice to meet you too!" Laylee said smiling as she brought her hand back to her side. "What year are you in?" She asked, making light conversation, making sure to keep here ears open for the Headmisstress's speach.

"Mine was okay, not very much fun until Diagon Alley I suppose." Laylee said truthfully. She had been thinking of Chandon through most of the summer. It seemed like ages since she last saw him. She thought of he other friends that she missed as well. She was very greatful to have such a great friend as Maura!

Winter moved her hand back to her side. Smiling back at Laylee she replied, "I'm a second year. Maura and I started at Belle's together." Winter glanced up at the staff table. "How much longer do you think it will be before the headmistress makes her speech? she asked Laylee.

Meredith smiled too and shook Raidens hand. It was the wrong hand, but that was funny, in a good way. She was in a very good mood today. She couldn't really remember feeling like this the last few months.
"Nice to meet you too" she said. "I actually wanted to be in Slytherin, not that I don't like it here, but I just met some really nice Slytherins..Have you seen Demetrius? I think he got sorted there too." She hadn't seen him since that day in Diagon Alley.
Maybe she should visit the Slyherin table sometime..Appearantly it was normal to walk from table to table, talking with people in other houses. She liked that.

"Great! Then you must be just as excited to be here!" Laylee said. Another wave of guilt washed over her as she realized she had never met this girls before and she should have been less of a sketching hermit last year.
"I dont know." Laylee responded to Winter's question. "I hope soon." She said truthfully.

"Yes, I'm very excited." replied Winter. She could feel the glow of excitement run over her as she thought about how much better Hogwarts was then Belle's School of Magic. Just thinking about the school she was in last term make her stomach turn. She put her hand on her stomach then looked at Laylee and said, "Me too, I"m ready to hit the sack."

Maura smiled. "Oh, no, it's going to be wonderful!" she said. "My cousin is Phoebe Elmwood. You might have heard of her, she's a singer. She went here and she adored it!" Phoebe had said to find out how many people here knew of her. Maura thought this was one way to find out. "Yes, I met Winder last year. We're friends," she said.

Maura looked back at Laylee. "Yep, poor me!" she said, laughing when Laylee patted her on the head.

Maura looked at Laylee's face, watching her expression. She had a feeling she knew who Laylee was thinking about. How many times had she seen the sketches of his face? How many times had she heard Laylee talk about him with her face and eyes glowing? But she kept silent, knowing all would be revealed in time. "I'd better love it," she warned. "Else I shall have to be angry." She laughed.

Maura smiled and watch Laylee meet Patty.

"You should be!" Laylee joked. "This place is amazing!" She still couldnt believ that she was a fith year. How insane was that?
Laylee just nodded with a smile as Winter said she was tired. Laylee was way to excited to be tired. But she could understand how others would be. Laylee looked between Winter and the Headmistress with excitement. "So, what did you think of Belle's school?" She asked, an expecting grin on her face.

Laylee laughed at her reaction and hugged her again without warning. She was very greatful for her crazy friend.

Laylee watched Maura as her face seemed to be keeping silent about something, but then again she guessed that Maura knew what she was thinking. Best friends usually have that kind of all knowing way about them.
Laylee laughed. "Of course you will love it! I will make sure of it!!!" She said.

Maura gave an exclamation of surprise, then laughed and hugged Laylee back. "Yes yes, and I love you too," she said jokingly.

Maura smiled, she wasn't about to reveal that she had been concerned for Laylee's relationship with him. "Well, I suppose I have no choice but to trust you," she said with a huge, fake sigh.

Laylee laughed, hard. "Of course you do! You have no choice!" Laylee said in a joking tone.

"Yes, you do." She said in a serious knowing way. "But, you'll be having the time of you life by tomorrow! I promise!" She said truthfully.

"Nice talking to both of you" Jason told Laylee and Winter. " I am going baack to my table now" Jason told them.

Maura laughed. "How silly of me. I forgot it's against the law to not love Laylee Lynn Russell. How dumb I've been," she said.

"Yes, I'm sure I'll be tired of it already by this time next week," she said.

"Oh, I hated it!" replied Winter with a frown. "I hated all the flowers and the fact that the boys and girls were seperated. When my mom told me about Hogwarts I was excited." She said once again beaming with joy. "But when we got to the station and they were seperating us I was scared. I'm so happy Hogwarts is back and I am getting to experience it." Winter reached for her glass of pumpkin juice hoping she wasn't talking to much. She had a habit of doing that when she was excited.



"Nice talking to you too Jason. Hope to see you around. Bye." Winter waved to her new Gryffindor freind.

"Bye Jason, She said to his retreating form." Laylee turned to Maura and smiled. She of course, had never experienced Jason, or even met him. That will be fun...

Laylee laughed. "Of course its against the law! And, I would be sad if you didnt." Laylee said, her tone shifting from seriousness to silly sadness in the sentence.

Laylee looked at her, mock shock across her face. "No! You will love it! Just like your forced to love me you will be forced, by me, to love Hogwarts as much as I do!" Laylee said, then she chuckled.

Laylee laughed. "Everyone hated it, dont worry!" She said truthfully with a frown. "You will love it here though!" She said, feeling her excitement. She flet bad for what happened to her and the rest of the first years. How terrible would it have been for them? Much worse of course than someone who already experienced Hogwarts. It would have been scary for a first year. Hearing about Hogwarts and then everything turning crazy.

Maura looked after the strange boy suspiciously. "Umm....please tell me that wasn't Chandan," she said desperately.

Maura sighed. "Don't be silly, it's really hard to not love you, or to not like you at least," she said, patting Laylee's hand in mock consolation.

Maura rolled her eyes at that last statement. "Whatevs," she said.

"No!" Laylee actually screamed that. "Not even close." The she smirked. "So you did know who I was thinking of didnt you?" She asked, grinning at the thought of him again.

"Oh okay good. At least you like me." Laylee said with a relieved tone. "I dont know what I would have done without you this year. " She said truthfully staring off in the distance.

Laylee just smiled, knowing she had won that fight.

Maura jumped back as Laylee screamed. "Okay, good," she said, exhaling in relief. "He seems...odd." Then she smiled. "Yep, whenever you think about him you get this look on your face..." she said.

Maura's smile disappeared. "Oh, stop that!" she said. "I'm going to have three years here without you! And I don't want to think about that." She ran Laylee's sentence in her head. "Why this year?" she asked curiously. "is there going to be something that's particularly hard?"

Laylee smiled. "You dont know the half of it. It will be interseting how your first meeting with him will turn out, Im excited to see it!" Laylee said laughing at an inside joke to herslef.
"I do not!" She said definsively about her facial expresions. But then again, she wouldnt know. She did usually go in some sort of trance when she thought about him. Who knows, she might even druel when she think of him. But Laylee crossed her arms over her chest in protest, she wasnt giving up that easy.

Laylee suddenly remembered that she was right. Maura would have three years without her here. Realization dawned on her face and she frowned. "Sorry." She said suddely very depressed by the thought.
When she listened to the rest of what she was saying she looked up in surprise. "Well, I dont think anything horrible is happening this year... its just, your my best friend! I would be sad!" She suddenly smiled again.

Jason goes back to the RavenClaw table. " I forgot Kaylee, how are your drawings coming along?" Jason asked her.

Mari arched her brow a bit as Elizabeth answered her. " Hmm. Well, that's too bad. But I suppose that school is more important." She said, giving a little shrug. She took a bit of chocolate pudding from the table and began picking at it, trying to figure out why it was so easy for her to find Nico so intriguing. That wasn't how it worked, she thought as she looked down at her pudding with an expression of slight consternation. Boys liked her first, boys chased her. Not the other way around. She looked up then and she mentally shook herself off. Now the other three were talking about the house cup. " What is this about a House cup? Are we in a year round competition?" She asked curiously. They did do things oddly in this school, but it was certainly interesting. " And forgive me for continuing so fast, but which one is the headmistress?" She glanced up at what was obviously the staff table, trying to see if she could find out for herself.

Laylee looked up again, surprised to see Jason standing there. "Great! I draw more than ever! I can show them to you sometime if you want!" Laylee said politely.

Maura blinked. Oh boy. "I look forward to it," she said dryly. "And you do too! Your face goes all soft and your eyes light up. It's sort of obvious, but only if you really know you, which I do!" she said.

Maura shook her head. "It's all right. it can't be helped unless you fail three years in a row!" she said. "Well...I meant...Chandan. If you're too nervous to go talk to him alone, at least at first, I could come until you get used to him," she offered. "I know. I will be sad once you leave." She hugged Laylee.
