Hufflepuff Room The panel slides back and you enter a room which main feature is a huge mirror, or perhaps it is a window. In any case, it is easy to see that someone is trapped behind that window. You can't quite make out who the person is at first, but as you get closer you realize that the person in danger appears to be your Head of House, Professor Shackleton. This is not good! You will notice that there are two doors here, one of which will return you to the school. This is the door on the left. But if you choose the other door, the one on the right, you can choose to stay and help your professor. |
Dominic blinked as one moment his hand was on black and gold colorings, but the next it was hovering in midair as the panel slid back to reveal a room with a mirror. Or a window. Nonetheless, the fourth year dropped his hand to his side as he entered the shallow room, hardly noticing if anyone was with him or not. That was when he saw the figure: Professor Shackleton, the strange Arithmancy professor who always seemed to be eating, was trapped. Opening his mouth in shock, the fourth year looked back to see the panel close behind him and reveal a door. One door back to the school or to safety. The other on the right would lead him to help Shackleton. Now was his moment to act selflessly; to follow his personal month number and do something for others. And thus, Dominic's decision was made for him. Taking a few slow steps, he placed his hand on the right door handle and opened it... |
Aly stepped into the room, curious about what's in it. She glanced around the room and saw a mirror and two doors. She took a closer look at the mirror and was shocked to see that Professor Shackleton was behind the mirror. She heard another door open and looked over her shoulder, seeing another Hufflepuff in the room. She was curious as to where that door led. She followed the other Hufflepuff through, her curiosity getting the better of her. |
Just as Dominic was about to press down on the door handle, Dominic heard someone shout. Narrowing his eyes, he turned around halfway in time to see a younger Hufflepuff whom he had seen once or twice in the corridor, as he shuddered slightly at the last encounter with her. "Ssh. Would you keep it down?" he whispered hurriedly, turning his focus back to the door. Honestly, shouting for her would not help anything ... though wait, was this a trap?! The room was dusty, as though it had not been used for thousands of years, yet here was Shackleton behind the mirror or window. Seemingly out of place, considering how young she was. Gulping nervously, he released the handle, staring at the door for a few moments as though it might attack him. |
Kayla had decided to follow her fellow Hufflepuffs to see what was going on and she found herself in a room. "Denton, what's going..."Kayla looked at the window and she stopped short..."is that Professor Shakleton?" She looked around the room and noticed another couple of doors. "Do we have to go through there to save the Professor?" Oooh this was exciting, they could be heroes. |

Turning around again at the sound of his name, Dominic sighed when it was none other than the blond girl from the courtyards. "Winters. I can see you have eyes, as yes it does appear to be Professor Shackleton," Dominic started, turning back to study the mirror and door. Hearing her comment on saving Shackleton, and then the younger girl about what was going on, Dominic just shook his head. "I don't know. That's what I thought initially, but it wouldn't make sense. Professor Shackleton is barely pushing forty years old, where everything up to this point has hinted at thousands of years old." |
Kayla rolled her eyes at Dominic. "Don't need to get all snippy about it Denton, I was just making an observation" she retorted. Honestly that boy drove her nuts, she had a good mind to...nope better not! "This is true" Kayla commented although she really had no idea what Denton was talking about. She was here because it looked like a bit of fun. "Maybe it's just a trick to see if we're stupid enough to go in there after her...hmm might be an illusion and if we go in there, then perhaps we'll get stuck" she shrugged it wa just a thought. |
"Oh come on, guys. How about instead of fighting, we figure out what to do?" She asked, taking a couple of steps towards the mirror. "I dunno whether or not it's safe to touch it.." She reached out, but kept her fingers a few inches from the mirror. She sighed and dropped her hand, looking up into the 'face' of her head of house. "Does anyone remember the clues?" |
Dominic sighed as Kayla starting whining about something or other. Rolling his eyes, he had no patience for her remarks right now so he just chose to ignore that comment. Fighting the urge to retort back as to why Kayla wasn't there going after her yet, Dominic bit his tongue. Best not to say that at all... "So if going through this door is out of the question, then doesn't that leave us with the only other option of the other door back to the main part of the school? And I don't know about you, but I didn't come back here just to return to reality so soon." Besides, if they did get stuck then at least he wouldn't have classes anymore ... or... OH NOES! He'd be stuck forever with two females! YIPES! Dominic turned instead towards the other girl. "Fighting? Who's fighting?" he asked, shaking his head as the girl was about to touch the mirror. "I don't think it'll bite you or anything. I mean I touched the door handle..." he shrugged, although could careless if it did bite her fingers off. "The last clue? It was just a piece of a map that joined with the other houses, forming a topographical view of the Great Hall. Leading us back here... But after the crest, the clue is useless." |
Kayla let out an exasperated noise in the back of her throat. "Well neither did I" she said as she marched up to the window or mirror or whatever it was. "No point in standing around and talking about it, I say we do something...now" she reached out with her hand hesitantly at first and then decided what's the worst that can happen and threw caution to the wind as she always did. One moment her hand was touching nothing but air and then it came into contact with the glass. She looked back at the other two. "See nothing to it." |
Ross followed the rest of the hufflepuffs into the room "So what is it we are going to do" he half whispered to the rest of the people that were there. |
Which door have you chosen? Have you chosen the easy way out of this place, or have you decided to take a stand and try to save your Head of Household? Whichever choice you take is bound to have lasting consequences, so choose wisely! |
Elan followed the gaggle of huffies to the panel and his jaw dropped. He tapped the closest one? "Are we going to stand here, or do something?" |
Jess also followed the fellow Huffies and was shocked to realise that their Head of House was trapped. And then there was a decision to make: go on or return. "We didn't come this far to just give up, right? We have to stay and try to save Professor Shackleton! We can't return now..." the girl said, looking at Dominic, because he was the most familiar to her of all the other housemates standing there. |
Ross decided to take charge and walked straight up to the door that professor shakleton was behind, Shaking the door to try and open it he remembered a spell he had read out of a book so taking his wand out of his pocket he pointed it at the lock and said "Alohamora!" |
Slowly, the door on the right side begins to open, as if of its own accord. It is totally impossible to see what is on the other side of the door, it appears to be very dark inside there. If you wish to set your Head of House free, you must pass through this door. Now is the time to make your decision! |
"We obviously have to go through that door if we want to save Professor Shackleton.." Aly said, turning to look at the door. Her eyes widened as the door slowly started to open on it's own. "We need to go through it.." Aly stepped closer to the open door and squinted into the darkness to try and see what was in the next room. It didn't help. She pushed the door open all the way and pulled out her wand. "Am I going by myself, or is someone going to come with me?" |
Elan looked around and most of the people appeared motionless except for Aly. He followed behind her. "I'll go with you." he told her, pulling out his own wand, though he wasn't sure how much good it would do as he was a first year and not sure how much he would remember. |

Elan followed the green glow of Aly's wand as he placed a hand on her back so they didn't get separated. |
Ross wanted to quickly get the professor so lighting his wand up with the lumos spell that he had learned in first hear he walked past the other two people hoping that he would get there quickly and get out of the dark and spooky place. |
Elan hit the wall as someone bristled past them. "Hey buddy. Wanna show a little consideration?" |
Aly reached back to grab Elan's hand, trying to assure him that everything was okay without saying anything. "You might want to stay with us. You might get lost and not know how to get back." She told the other boy. "I don't feel like going to find someone who gets lost. Either you stay with us, or you have a bigger chance of getting lost. Which one is it?" |
Kayla looked at the others and then peered through the door. "Lumos" she muttered and her wand lit up. Seeing that she and Denton were the eldest ones here, she gave a little sigh. "Would you like me to go first?" |
Elan stood there waiting to see what the other boy would do, while holding onto Aly's hand. |

Ross decided that he wanterd to get out of here as fast as possible so he pushed to the front of the group but listening to the others he decided that he wanted to stay infron "Sorry for pushing past you i just want to get out of here as soon as possible" he said to the others "So i will go infront" |
Elan shrugged, though no one could see it in the dark. "Whatever! Just move on, so we can get on with this." |

Elan was getting frustrated just standing there. With the frustration evident in his voice he pleaded. "C'mon. THis standing here fighting isn't helping the professor at all." |
Ross decided that these girls were not going to be helpfull or kind so he picked his pace up slightly and walked to the door |
Dominic just shook his head as Kayla decided 'prove a point' by going out to touch the glass. Nothing happened. But before he could react to anything else, two young boys and the girl from the mirrors - Kaika's friend, Jessica - entered the room and the next thing he knew, the more familiar of the two boys as he was a reserve, used the alohomora charm on the door. The door opened and others started entering, despite its quite dreary appearance inside. Lingering for a moment, Dominic still wasn't sure if it really was the way to save Shackleton. Thoughts of it being a trap to lure students into some dark mess well beyond their scope of magical education kept him from immediately following the three others who entered quickly. But then he realized that of those three, him and Winters were the oldest and felt duty to protect them should harm come their way. Thus the fourth year removed his wand and cast 'lumos', as he brushed along their side and into the room. Whatever lay in the darkened room better be worth their time, he thought as he shone his light along the walls to search for some new clue... As he heard one of the younger boys saying something about the longer they stay here, Dominic felt the need to speak. "If she's really trapped, then it wouldn't make any difference on how fast we go, since she can't go anyplace anyway." |

Kayla followed the others through the doorway. "Who's fighting?" she shrugged as she watched the younger ones in front of her. Holding her wand up high and making sure that she kept her eyes on everything around her, she wasn't too thrilled about having Denton leading this whole thing. He could be a skirt at times. |

One minute Curt had picked up his pumpkin juice from the table, the next his arm had brushed against the gold and black, and then after that there was some strange room in front of him. He couldn't explain how it happened, his mind was on too many things. Frederic Krum being one of them, he had infuriated Curt. Shoving the thoughts off his mind, Curt stepped into the empty room and saw a mirror, or wait, was it a window? The panel slid shut behind him and he walked closer, a gasp escaped his mouth. That was Shackleton! Curts eyes widened as he stood closer to the class, and touched the cold surface with his hand. "What in the--?" He muttered, as he looked behind him. Going back out the way he came to find Vannah and the rest seemed like a logical idea, but then again, what if there was no time to lose? Vannah could have been anywhere in the castle, and if could very likely take hours to find her. Curt sighed, and looked back into the sinister mirror where it looked like Shackleton was trapped. "Professor?" He called out, a tad stupidly, and as he figured there was no response. Bullocks, Curt knew what he had to do. The other door was the option, where did it lead? Danger seemed to loom, but Curt was of age and quite talented. At least he wasn't going to pose completely hopeless. Taking out his wand, Curt pushed open the other door that lead to a dark, mysterious room. He couldn't see anything, but he definitely heard voices. With the firm flick of his wand and a non-verbal incantation, Curts wand tip ignited and shone on all the other occupants in the room. The first person he noticed was teammate, and fourth year Hufflepuff Dominic Denton. Surrounding him were fellow Hufflepuffs, Curt knew all of them by face, but not exactly by name. He'd seen them in and out of the common room more often than not. Walking over to them, Curt furrowed his brow and paused for a moment. "So, apparently the castle has a lot more secrets than I thought. And I thought I knew most of them." Curt said to the group, shining his wandlight around the room but it only kept finding more darkness. He had gotten a good look at all of them, he was definitely the oldest by at least two years. Curt couldn't help but feel responsibilities seep into his mind, nobody is going to get hurt, he kept reminding himself. Turning to Dom, Curt shrugged slightly. "I guess we should just keep walking on eh? You all saw Shackleton too right? I'm not just going crazy?" Curt had to make sure, that was far too strange. |
Kayla looked back at the older Huffie with a mock horrified expression. "Professor Shakleton is here? Where? I didn't see her. Oh this is not good, we should try and help her" she snickered to herself as she continued to run her hands over the wall trying to find...something. |
Elan just watched to see what everyone else was doing. It was a bit frustrating for an eleven year old boy to be patient, but he was really trying. |
Vannie looked around the room, it looked a little odd. And what was that? Two doors? She shook her head as she looked around the room. Then she saw the mirrors. That was odd too. Upon looking closer she noticed that someone was in there. Professor Shackleton. The head of year. That was also odd. She was about to go closer, when she heard voices, and looked automatically to the source. Well maybe they'd know what was going on. Pulling her wand out of her pocket, she approached the door, and pushed it open. "erm Hello?" She called out, not so sure whether she should go in. But the voices were getting louder. Shining her lit wand around, she could see the faint outlines of people and she carried on into the room, till she was near them. "Does anyone know whats going on?" |

"Well we're not quite sure as yet but we think we have to come through here to save the Professor" she wasn't entirely sure if that was right either but it was a good excuse as any. "That is of course if it's not a trap" she added and then shrugged. Kayla was all up for some adventure, she just hoped it wasn't going to come back and bite her in the butt. |
Elan just followed along as the others led toward whatever fate awaited them. |
The only way to save your Head of House is through the door on your right. The decision is yours, to choose to go through that door or to simply exit through the other way, through the door on the left, and leave the problem behind you without making the effort. |

Brave enough or not, Elan followed along. He didn't think it wsa right to let the HoH be trapped in the mirror. |

Well that one girl, she was younger than Curt, found a door and seemed to be stomping off into the darkness. Rash ignorance, was basically all Curt could think to describe it. The sass she had given him earlier was a bit out of line, Shackleton was apparently in trouble, or all of them were slowing being led into a trap. The young little first year followed along, and so did Vannie Corbette. Curt sighed, “Wait!” Curt jogged up to the rest of them as he sprinted through the door on the right. “Lets at least use our brains.” Curt looked to the others and pulled out his wand into the darkness. “Homenum Revelio”, he said, as he looked around the room waiting for a response. As he waited for the results of his spell he looked back through the open door. “You coming Dominic?” Curt hoped he was, they could definitely use him. |
Kayla halted in her tracks while she waited for the older guy to catch up to them. She listened as he performed a spell...oh yeah should have thought of that. Too intent on finding the Professor and getting her out safely, Kayla tended to forget the small things. "Sorry about before" she said looking at him. "Was just trying to lighten the mood a little. Everyone is so tense and there is the good possibility that we're walking into a trap..."she gave him a cheeky grin before continuing..."but better me getting caught in it than you, wouldn't you say" Kayla chuckled softly before walking on. |
Miranda looked around, what in the name of Merlin was going on and how did this room appear ?! "Anyone in here?" she asked shakily, this was a bit spooky. Miranda shrieked as she saw what appeared to be a mirror, but to her horror she could see her Head of House! Miranda gasped and frantically searched for someone else. Suddenly she heard alot of voices and a faint light. Taking several steps into the room, she started to look for the owners of the voices. Soon she could hear several voices. Hmmm, could they be in here? "Hello?" she called as she walked through the door to the right. At last she saw several Hufflepuffs standing in the dark. "OhmygoshdidyouseeProffessorShackleton!?!?!" she rambled running towards the group |
Rapunzel almost fell into the mysterious room that had just popped up - boy did she need to watch where she was walking. Perhaps Kovac had a point. Hmmph. Or perhaps people should learn to stop building mysterious pop-up rooms! Staring around the room, Rapunzel noticed two doors and a huge mirror...or was it a glass wall? Either way, she could see Professor Shackleton trapped behind it, not looking too good. "Eeep!" Punz squeaked, rushing towards the door on the right. Once again, she was hardly paying attention to where she was going and crashed into someone right in front of her. "Miranda?" Rapunzel muttered, lighting her wand so she could she better. She elevated the wand and noticed quite a group of Hufflepuffs behind the first year. "Curt? Dom? Vannnnnnie? What in Merlin's Pants is going on?!" |
Lima blinked as she was suddenly in a room that appeared out of nowhere. "What the?" she asked, completely stunned. She noticed a huge mirror in the room, and gasping saw that Professor Shackleton was trapped behind it. This was not good. As she made her way towards the right door, she saw that Pretzel and Miranda were there in front of her. As well as Vannie, Curt, Kayla and Dom. "Whaaaaa?" she asked stunned. |
When she heard Curt shout out, then coming jogging past them and into the room, Vanessa slowed down her pace a bit, waiting to see what he was doing. Ahh it seemed that he was doing some spell. Probably to make sure that they'd be okay going into the dark room. She just hoped that nobody would be scared of the dark. That would be not so good. She turned around when she heard someone come up to them, and then someone else bump into them. "Punz," She nodded at the Huffie Captain. "Erm. i have...no idea what so ever." She shrugged, as she looked around. Maybe someone else had more of an idea than she did. |
Eva was known for getting lost easily. Most of it because she loved reading while she was walking. Not the best of ideas. She didn't surprise herself where she found herself in a strange room. She was fine until she see her head of House... trapped somewhere. "OH MY-" she cut off and looked around. There other students seemed to be aware of that sooner. "What is happenning?" she asked not adressing the question to anyone in particular. Then, she spotted Kayla. "Hello. Do you have anhy clue of what is happenning here?" she asked. Maybe she should start paying more attention to important stuff. Like her school. |
Rapunzel Rapunzel! Umphf! Miranda almost fell as she lost her balance when someone bumped into her. It was her captain! "Rapunzel! Im so glad to see you!" she breathed "Didyouseeherbehindthatthing?!" Miranda rambled again in a high voice as he pointed towards the Professor mirror-thingy. What is going on here? Miranda heard footsteps and saw that more and more Hufflepuffs were coming along, she saw Lima aswell! If it wasnt for the few lighted wand tips, she would have been freaking out more than what she was now. "Lumos" she said raising her wand and remembering that she could do that too. |
Light shot out of the tip of his wand and pointed at all the occupants in the room that he had already seen, apparently it was safe to move on. “Well, at least we are the only humans in here. From what I can tell.” Curt said with a shrug, and pointed his wand light down the path. Curt smiled to girl that had apologized, it really wasn’t that big of a deal. He wasn’t in the mood for sarcasm or jokes at the moment, not with the day he was having. “Ah, don’t worry about it.” Curt laughed, perhaps it was better him than her, he was older and more experienced but you never knew when experience was going to matter or not. “It depends I guess.” He said with a wink to the fourth year, as he looked behind him as more people were piling into the room. That first year player on his Quidditch team, she looked very scared. Then Pretzel piled in after her along with Lima right after her. It was getting crowded and noisy. “We don’t know.” Curt said with a wry smile to all the people questioned. Looking to Punzie, Curt sighed. “I don’t get it. I really don’t even know how I ended up in this room.” He said, his mind beginning to click along. “But it is strange that only Hufflepuffs have found this rom. And also that our Head of House seems to be the one behind the mirror, or window.” Curt was brainstorming loud and clear, so everyone would understand and hopefully throw in their input. “I mean, it seems like we’re meant to do this. I think we should keep walking.” Curt sighed and turned his wand light down the dark corridor, shuddering slightly as he wondered what awaited him. |

She looked to Curt/Dom since they were the only guys and both were sort of at the head of the group. Finally, Curt said something...which really wasn't very reassuring. Rapunzel shrugged to herself and followed Curt down the passage before she had another thought. "Does anybody know like...when this place popped up? Or how long she's been there?" The she, of course, was referring to their HoH. |
Miranda felt unsure of what to do, but she followed her captain when she noticed that her fellow quidditch teammate was here aswell. Keeping behind the two, she peeked around from behind them from time to time, wand held high. Miranda shivered slightly, wether it was from the fright of this weird situation or the cool passage, she didnt know. "Oh, I hope she's allright..." she said in an almost inaudible voice. "Does this have anything to do with the treasure hunt?" she asked to no one in particular. If it was, then maybe the professor was the treasure... What an unusual treasure it was then. But why or who would put her behind that glass thing? |
"Oh gee.... That's probably a good idea that won't work without a good plan." the girl replied Kayla. A rescuing mission... wjhy did she felt like she was in the wrong place? That kind of stuffs were more Ellie's type. "We need to organize here. Anybody has a good idea?" she asked to teh whole group in there, hopeless. The only thing that was coming to her mind was keep walking. Not the most brilliant rescuing plan. |

Laughing quaintly, Curt looked to the fourth year as he slowly walked up the passageway in stride with Punzie. “Everyone has their own strong points, older, younger…” he stopped there, leaving the girl in slight mystery. He didn’t want to elaborate at the moment. She introduced herself, and Curt grinned. “Nice to meet you Kayla. I’m Curt.” He said with a wry grin as he raised his wand a bit higher to see if there was anything that would come into view. Nope, nothing. Looking to Punzie, Curt shrugged in the darkness. “I don’t think anyone knows. When I came in Dom, Kayla here, and some others were already about to head through the door. It couldn’t have been here for over a day, we’d slipt in before that.” He said with a nod, it seemed like an easy place for Hufflepuff’s to end up. There was at least ten in the room at the moment. Raising his wand again, Curt figured he’d give another charm a try. “Specialus Revelio.” The spell would show any signs of magic, and maybe give them a warning of something a bit more sinister… Little Miranda asked about the treasure hunt, and that was definitely on Curts mind. "I was thinking that too. But I don't see how it has anything to due with Professor Shackleton's state. We'll just have to see." Curt waiting for the effects of his charm, it was obviously searching thoroughly. |

Eva just felt like rolling her eyes at Kayla: "I'm not a little girl afriad of the dark but I'm not Ellie either, Winters." she whispered back to her friend. "Silly 'puff." she added. Now, she wished she was older. That guy anmed Curt seemed to be in control, which Eva was totally okay with it, but she would like something similiar with a plan. But seemed like none of the students had an idea of what to do, unless keep on walking. She glanced at Kayla and her friend's looks to the older guy. "You don't change do you? You should keep your beautiful head working something about this... situation." she advised~, but who was she to speak? She hadn't think of anything good too. |
As you all have noticed, the room is completely dark, as dark as midnight. Another thing you may have found out is that wand magic does not work in this room. It is useless to try to use lumos, bluebell fire or any other lighting spells you might be able to think of, they will not work in this room. Yes, there is a way out, but it cannot be revealed. Yet. |
"Oops" Miranda gaped at where the little light from her wand was. It had suddenly gone out. Oh no! "What are we going to do!?" Miranda shrieked as she noticed that there were no lights at all from the other Hufflepuffs wands. Miranda didnt like the dark, no ma'm she didnt. She put her hands infront of her, searching for something to grab hold on. She felt fabric against her fingertips, without hesitation, she grabbed it. She did not want to get lost in here. |

yeah......imaginary lumos...xD Creeping slowly into the room, Punz gasped when her wand went out suddenly. Great, now they were all stumbling around a dark room with who knew what going on....gaa. "No wonder your spells weren't working, Curt," she muttered, shaking her blonde head slowly. "There must be some sort of shield or force field around the room, preventing us from using our wands..." Punz sighed and took a step forward into the room. Or maybe there's a lightswitch around! "We could spread out and feel around for some matches or something," Rapunzel added as she started slowly walking into the room. |
"Kay, do you really think this is the time and place to worry about your possible beauty?" she teased. Honestly, this sitaution was making her freak out a little. "Lumos!" nothing. Eva tried again. "Please tell it's just my wand not working..." she knew it wasn't but she would love if there was any fast away to that rescuing thing and go back to some... warmer place. her hope was gone when a girl talked to the boy. Spells weren't working. And Eva was getting impatient. "Why do they teach us useless things?!" at this moment, she even hated the Minister. Eva reminded herself to never, ever, ever get lost inside the castle again. It wasn't a good idea. |
editing for mah Ror Ah, now that would be why his revealing charms weren’t working. As he tried to cast a lumos charm, it wand sparked once and nothing came out. This room seemed to be blocking any form of magic. Laughing slightly, he walked a pace or two in the pitch darkness and turned to the rest of them. He could hardly see the silhouette of a shadow. Punzie seemed to have caught on, and he smiled a smile to her that she probably couldn't see. "Apparently so, gaaah." Curt frowned, It was time to work out a plan, spreading out seemed most logical, a light switch would help in so many ways. There was something telling him though, that this room was dark, and meant to be dark. “Ok everyone. So if you haven’t already noticed, we can’t use magic in here. The door locked behind us, so for the time being we’re stuck.” Curt thought it would be nice to point out the obvious. He looking over his shoulder into the impending darkness, the only thing he could think of was to keep pressing on. If only someone had brought mathes, a candle maybe, then they could have light for at least the better end of a second. “Honestly, I think our best option is to keep walking on. Slowly, and by keeping together. We are bound to run into something that we can work with. Plus, if we go far enough, maybe we’ll walk out of this magic repelling enchantment that is keeping us from using our wands.” It seemed like a decend plan to him. “What does everyone else say?” He wiped a drip of sweat from the side of his face, he hadn’t been in a situation like this before and he was slowly becoming more and more nervous. Looking over in the darkness to Rapunzel, Curt hollered over her way. "Have you found anything yet?" he asked, hopefully. He wanted to get the lights on at least, so he could se what he and the rest were going to face. |

Miranda was slightly calmer as the voice infront of her started to speak. It was infact Curt, taking the lead. She still couldnt see anything ofcourse and was still grasping the piece of fabric firmly in her hands. She didnt really care who it was, just aslong as she didnt depart from it. Being alone in the dark, a big no no. Miranda was getting curious though. Who's cloak had she grabbed? She tugged it a bit to see what reaction she got. Last she saw, it was either Rapunzel or Curt who were infront of her...hmmm. But in this dark confusion, it could be anyone! |
When she realized that there was no way to light the room - not even with magic - Lima started to panic. She started moving around the room frantically, looking for a light switch. Come on! There has to be one around here somewhere. She felt all the walls in the room, trying not to bump into the other people, though that was hard. Finally she gave up her search and squeaking, went right up to Pretzel and grabbed onto her. "McBolical One! Save me!" she called out to hr friend. |
Hope I'm not too late! *blush* Savannah was very, very behind. She had been with the group before in the great hall, and then.. well that didn't matter. What did matter was Professor Shackleton was introuble, and she needed to catch up with her housemates. This wasn't too hard, following the faint voices helped keep her on the right track. It didn't take long for them to grow louder, and after going through another door she knew right away she had found them. This was slightly relieving, on another hand.. it was pitch black, she couldn't see a thing! "Oops," She murmured, hoping whatever she had bumped into was a solid object and not a person. Magic nor muggle lighting would work, from what she could hear from the others. That made things just a little bit more difficult, didn't it. "What's the changes of there being a lightswitch somewhere?" Savannah thought outloud, jokingly trying to ease the tension as she slowly tried finding a wall in the strange room. Her eyes beginning to adjust to the darkness made it a tiny bit better, she didn't feel as blind anyways. |
"Give me that." she took Kayla's lighter. "This thing is not out of gas, as you say. You guys don't know anything about muggle intentions, do you?" "Let's keep on walking, then." she replied to whoever had suggested it. It seemed to be the only way. |

Someone had come in, but the door was shut all too soon to turn around. “Vannah?!” Curt jogged to the other side of the room, slipping through bodies to find his girlfriend who’d he hoped would join up soon. They really needed her. She apparently was looking for a light switch, Curt caught the humor and laughed. Once he was finally up to her, knowing good and that it was her shadow and not someone else’s he pulling her into a quick hug. He then released and looked about the dark room again, “No light switches, I don’t think.” He said with a laugh. “My first thought was to just keep walking on. We don’t have too many other options.” He didn’t think they did, maybe Vannah had a masterful plan cooking up. That would work wonders on everyone’s morale. “Any ideas?” he asked with a unseeing grin to Vannah, there had to be a way to get to Shackleton. |
"I'm half muggle too, blondie... although like I feel like a true muggle right now." talking was the only way Eva had to remain calm. There were too many girls freaking out with that she was hoping to keep her feelings only to herself. "Not a single one." she replied in the boy's direction. Or where she thought he was. |
"Oh!" Miranda gasped as the cloth she had been holding suddenly slipped from between her hands. Then she heard the voice of Curt and...who was the girl who just entered? Vannah? That must be the Prefect! Oh, she had been grabbing on his cloak for dear life. Hmm, now she felt a bit lost. "Rapunzel?" she called out as she made her way, her arms outstreched and suddenly bumped into somone. "Rapunzel is that you?" Miranda asked with a shaky voice. |
Kayden's head was spinning when she realized what was going on. The loyal side kicked in when she saw her HOH trapped. Yanking the right door open she hurried in, running into someone. "Sorry!" She said quickly, walking forward. Was anyone she knew here? Hearing a voice she knew, KC called out,"Eva?" |
"Nope, it's Santa." she replied. "Of course it's me...Eva Diana Longwood.. who wants to know?" she tried to adress the voice to where she thought the person was. Who ever had done it. This Hufflepuff was feeling too scared. |

A small smile appeared on her lips, glad someone found it even the littlest bit funny. With the room being so dark, she could barely tell who was who but when a pair of arms wrapped around her very briefly Savannah knew Curt was beside her now. "Of course not, that would be too easy." She agreed, a hint of amusement in her tone. Nope, outsmarting them by taking away magic and muggle contraptions wasn't enough. They would have to be more clever to get around the obstacles. "We don't have alot of options, I agree.." despite the darkness, ocean blue eyes scanned the room looking for any shadows that weren't human. Not seeing anything in particular Savannah sighed, suggesting her only current idea, along with his. "We could either try to keep walking, or we could very carefully search the room. There might be a reason it's dark in here, maybe somethings being hidden from us?" A switch.. a trap door, Professor Shackleton herself, something. |
How it works? "If it works, blondie... it would be nice if this gave us some light. But it's not working. You know it." she replied. Gee, she was exauhsted. "I feel weirdly tired..." she whispere to who ever wanted to hear. |
Kayden felt a bit dazzed by the harshness in Eva's voice,"Kayden." She said, grabbing blindly in the darkness and grabbing the lighter. Shaking it up, she produced light, cupping her hand around it, sure that it'd stay in, she looked around,"Careful moving, too much wind and it'll go out. It's not low, just the friction isn't working well, the wheel's rusty." The redhead said calmly. |
As Vannah, the prefect spoke, Miranda agreed with her. "Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. I think we should keep moving, dont think we will find anything right here..." It shouldnt be to difficult right, they just had to keep moving forward, the same way they were going before all the lights went poof. Miranda put her hand inside her pocket and took out a chocolate frog. Chocolate always made her feel better. She unwrapped it and shoved it into her mouth, awaiting the response or ideas of the others. |

Kayden scowled,"It doesn't have to be old to be rusty." She said quietly, pausing to compose herself. It was slightly stressful being in here. "Whether water got on it, it was in a moist area, or it was sold in this condition beats me, but the wheel squeaks and it jams. I'm positive on this okay! My parents used them when the lights went out, which they did frequently for nearly a year." |

Curt laughed, too easy that would be indeed. Just the thought of electricity like that at Hogwarts was somewhat funny. He felt around, keeping close to Vannah. It definitely seemed necessary to feel around the place at first, the didn’t want to miss anything before they moved on. "Good idea." Nodding in the darkness, Curt turned to the rest of the group. “Ok everyone, lets search through here before we move on. Don’t want to miss anything important eh?” he asked rhetorically, as he moved over to the nearest wall and starting feeling around. Anything would help, any form of matter that wasn’t a wall. |
"KC Slater." Kayden replied,"Yeah, I'm sorry too, I'm sure It's just being here that makes everyone a bit more irritable than usual." She smiled weakly in the dark. Pushing the wheel down about four times, a tiny flame came up. Seeing the girl, Kayla she smiled,"Nice to meet you." Kay said, letting her breath out away from the flame. |
Savannah gave a slight nod, Curt agreed it was a good idea to search before going on, though some seemed to like the idea of leaving first she really couldn't blame them. "We'll keep going after giving the room a quick search." She said assuringly, turning in the direction she could hear Miranda's voice. Holding her arm out to see how far the wall was from her, she took a few small steps closer till she could feel it, unsure if it was the wall or something else Savannah didn't think on it and ran her finders across the solidness, taking careful steps forward, while saying "If by any chance you feel something wet, sticky or sharp don't grab or put your hands on it right away, say something - We can't have anyone getting hurt, we've got to be careful it's too dark in here." to the others. |

Ok, they were going to search the room first then. Miranda took a deep breath and felt herself get calmer. That was until she started to wonder why. Was-was someone petting her?? Then she heard her captains voice, Oh thank goodness! "Rapunzel! No its ok!" she giggled. "Yeah, i cant see either..." Miranda mumbled annoyed by the dark, "Guess we better look for...something." she said after Vannah spoke. Yes, they would be safe with a prefect, a captain...and a bunch of crazy Hufflepuffs. Taking a step to her right, she bumped into something, "Oh sorry!" she squealed. Holding out her hands towards the solid matter, she felt the wall. "Great, Im apologizing to a wall..." Miranda mumbled darkly as she started to roam her hands on the cold stone. |
MERLIN! I leave for work for 3 hrs... *dies* ... prepare for a long post <3 Dominic had been so busy focusing on searching for the next hint along the walls that he hardly noticed massive peoples enter the room … and leave it, into the next room. It was quite odd how no one seemed to have really much a clue what was going on, except that he was the closest to knowing in at least he was there when their hands were on the crest and then the wall disintegrated to reveal the hallway. The corridor that all these badgers must have noticed appearing behind the staff table from the Hufflepuff table. “Yes, Shackleton was definitely there,” Dom replied back to mostly Curt, although not noticing that he had moved onto another room. Nor did he notice another girl, whom he vaguely could make out her face as a member of the quidditch team, enter and speak. Finally, Dominic took notice of a door on the right, which he had not noticed before. The only problem was that everyone else already seemed to make it through. Sighing quietly, the fourth year hurried along through the door, as he would not be seen as a failure or not brave. Hearing Curt’s voice again, he hurried along into the room except that the next thing he knew he found his wand light to be extinguished. The room was pitch black. “Huh!? What happened to my li--” Dominic started to say before noticing that everyone’s lights were extinguished. Spells that Curt had tried did not work, as the room appeared to have magical resistance charms placed on it. And was that … Rapunzel’s voice? Miranda was here too? “Punzel?!” the fourth year called out, searching uselessly through the darkness. “It appears that we’ve been led into a dark room. All the houses united behind the staff table and joined forces to place our hands on the crest that was on the wall back there, which disintegrated before us. That led us to a dusty corridor with each house crest on a different wall. Going to place my hand on the Hufflepuff crest, led us to the room with the mirror and Shackleton. Thus here – you all have found us. And now we are supposed save Shackleton or something like that,” Dominic sighed, wishing he could see something more than black ahead of him. Dominic then heard yet another voice. Lima, who seemed just as stunned as Rapunzel. Followed by the voice of another female, whom he did not recognize, but most likely was a Hufflepuff. Canaries; Hufflepuff had a lot of females! “My guess is that this place has been here for thousands of years, but for some reason, we’re destined to rediscover it again. This place has not been touched in years and there is a reason we’ve been led here…” Dominic answered to no one in particular, or perhaps the whole group. And the next thing he knew, another person had joined them. Their house prefect, Savannah, who seemed to have a number of good ideas to try. Of course something was being hidden from them though; that was sort of obvious. Dominic spoke again. “I doubt a lightswitch would be here at Hogwarts, even in a room that is most likely centuries old. However, what we may find is a magical creature or plant or something, that gives off light.” With that new idea in mind, he squatted down by the floor and started going over every inch of the floor with his hands. There had to be something… a trap door or whatever, but it couldn’t just be an empty room leading nowhere, right? |
Suddenly there was another voice in the room! How the... It sounded alot like Dominic! How did he get in here?? He was definately not wasting any time and startet to say many things Miranda was too nervous to comprehend. "Aaah!" Miranda shrieked suddnely, she had felt something brush her ankle and froze "There's something on the floor, theres something on the fl-" she stopped. "Dominic, is that you?" she whispered loud. She wasnt sure why she whispered, but it felt like something one had to do in a situation like this. Hmmm, if he was searching the floor, "maybe we should be looking around the roof!" Miranda grinned as she thought the last part out loud. Oh levitation, how fun! |
Kayden smiled to Kayla and glanced around, her eyes were trying to adjust to the darkness, and the lighter only gave off less than an inch of light. Sighing as the lighter went out she got on her knees. Hitting her head on someone else's head, she sighed, one hand reaching from the ground to rub where she hit. |
