Arithmancy Lesson 3: The Personal Day Numbers & Putting It All Together As you step through the doors of the Arithmancy classroom, you observe Professors Shackleton and Vindictus deep in what seems to be a rather serious discussion. Professor Shackleton is perched on the edge of her chair leaning in to hear what Vindictus is saying from the chair beside her. Neither notice initially that you've entered the room, too enthralled by the topic of their conversation to hear the footsteps on the stone floor. Written upon the board is the following request: Quote:

Astrid rushed right in through the classroom doors. She wanted to make sure that she got a seat up front. This was her favorite class and she couldn't wait for it to begin. Noticing the professors in deep discussion, Astrid quietly sits down and takes out her textbook. |
Miles walked into the classroom, quite enthusiastically. He thought he never would be, but now that he finally understood Arithmancy, he began to like it. He was about to say hell to the professor, when he noticed when she was in ... what seemed to be deep conversation. Oh, best leave her to it,. He walked to a seat near the middle of the classroom, and got his textbook out and began to read. |
Anna strolled into Arithmancy class, immediately looking around for Cale. Where had he gone off to? Hmm... Shrugging, she decided to just make her way into class and save Cale a nearby seat. "Good day Pr....," Anna started to say. She stopped herself when she saw that Professor Shackleton and Professor Vindictus appeared to be in a very serious conversation. That's odd. Shrugging once again, Anna headed to the back of the room and found a seat. When she was seated, she opened her Arithmancy textbook and began reading chapter 21. |
Clifford uite liked Arithmancy, which was strange considering all the numbers and adding up mushed up his already shrivelled up brain. Heh. Miss Shackleton made the classes good though. She was a nice lady.. and she had pretty hair. Hehe. Last lesson hadn't been so cool though, it had been horrible seeing Miss Shackleton so poorly. Wandering shyly into the classroom, a bunch of daisies hidden behind his back, Clifford looked toward Miss Shackleton's desk. Oh noes! She was there with Vindictus.. and talking quite seriously it seemed. Hanging around unsurely, the Slytherin chewed his lip nervously. What was he meant to do with these daisies now? Boohoo. |
Dominic entered the Arithmancy classroom slightly nervous as he had not had the chance to get those cookies with Seth yet. Hoping the Professor wouldn't be too upset with him, he surveyed the room before taking a seat. Oh good; Professor Shackleton was distracted at the front of the room with the flying professor... WAIT! WHAT!? Oh what is going on now!? First the Runes Professor last lesson and now the flying professor!? Dear canaries . . . Sighing quietly, the fourth year shook his head and took a seat in the second row. Not even realizing he had chosen to sit behind the sidekick of that Gryffindor girl. Ah well, she seemed to have a big enough head to block him from view... |
Lucas walked into class with his book bag. He smiled at the professor. "Hi Professor Shackleton." He said brightly. He gave her a wave and then quickly found his seat. He pulled his book out and opened it to the right chapter. |
Cale walked into the Arithmancy classroom, book tucked under his arm as he made his way to a seat next to Anna. He gave her a small grin and then turned to the Professor, ready to greet her with his usual hello when he noticed Vindictus was there as well. So, he shut his mouth and took his seat, turning to the chapter indicated. |
Mari entered the classroom, watching the two Professors, one being her Head of House as they discussed something very important. At least it seemed that way to her. She arched a brow and sat to the far right of the class, but in the second row. She took her book out and did as the instructions states, keeping quiet and to herself. |
Ella lazily walked in side the classroom. Arithmancy. Not her fav. subject. But somehow knowing better will not be a harm. She chose the front row seat, preparing for the numbers and calculations. |
It wasn't until she heard the greeting of one of her students that Macadrian realized anyone had entered the room. With a smile upon her face, Professor Shackleton directed her attention toward her students, "Good afternoon, class. We'll be beginning in just a few moments, and Professor Vindictus will be assisting us in our lesson today. Please sit tight and keep the chatting to dull roar while we wait." With that short little speech made, Macadrian turned her attention back to Max and returned to her hushed conversation. |
Asteira made her way to arithmancy class as she looked around for a place to sit. She heard the professor say that class would start soon. Looked like she made it just in time. She moved to find a seat next to Mari as she gave her a smile." Hey Mari." she said as she waited for class to start. |
Oh gosh.. this wasn't cool. He must've looked like a right fool. What kind of idiot decided to give the teacher daisies at the beginning of a lesson anyway? Trust Clifford to embarrass himself like this. Hoping to save himself from complete humilation, and praying noone saw the dull flush of his cheeks, Clifford hurried to the desk at the far back of the room and sat on the bunch of daisies. There, now noone would see them. Shoving his rucksack on the seat beside him, saving the seat for Evangeline, he hurriedly pulled out his textbook and turned to the correct chapter. What a smooth operator he was. Not. |
Blink. Blink. Blink. What was Professor Vindictus doing here? This was Arithmancy, not Flying. Perhaps he had gotten lost? No, that was unlikely. Huh. "Hello, Professors," said Willow politely to both of them, before taking seat in the back of the classroom. |
Rapunzel skipped to Arithmancy, oddly pumped for the lesson for some reason. Weird. She usually had to drag herself to this mathish class but not today. And then Vindictus was there....er....odd. Punz blinked but took a seat in the front and opened her book. Of course she wasn't going to pretend to eavesdrop on them...well...there was no need to pretend..... She smiled though when the professor mentioned Vindictus would be helping with the lesson. Odd, but interesting for sure. |

Cale raised a dark eyebrow. Vindictus? Assisting? This was bound to be interesting. He stared down at the textbook again and read over the material quickly. How in the world could Vindictus be helping them learn about numbers? |
Anna looked up when the professor started talking and listened to what she had to say. Her brows wrinkled in confusion when she heard that Vindictus would be assisting. Assisting? With what? Anna glanced over in Cale's direction, gave him a confused look, and then got back to her reading. |
Did she just say Professor Vindictus will be assisting!? Oh Merlin; apparently the situation with his head of house was far worse than he feared. Taking a look around, Dominic soon saw his captain enter the room and take a seat near the front. Odd; she likes Arithmancy? Hmph. People can be so surprising. Giving her a small nod in her direction, the fourth year focused back on Shackleton, attempting to figure out what was up with her. Besides what he didn't already speculate... |
Glancing away from Max, Macadrian realized that the class had nearly filled up and it was really time to begin. After putting their discussion on hold, Macadrian stood from her chair and walked to the front of her desk. She announced, "Later in the lesson we will be needing Professor Vindictus's help, but for the time being, we're flying solo. So, up til now we've studied the Personal Year and Personal Month numbers. Based on what you know about these numbers, what do you think the Personal Day numbers tell us?" Macadrian glanced around the classroom, taking in the faces of the students in attendance. Ah, Mr. Denton is here. I don't see or smell cookies, though. Hmm. He and I may be in need of a discussion sooner rather than later. |
Astrid raised her hand eagerly and said, “Well Professor, your Personal Day Number has been considered the least emphasized of the three Personal Numbers. Some people even say that they don’t notice much effect from their personal day number. But…..then again, I have also heard it said that sometimes when the universe is on your side, those days are considered your 'Personal days' and with Arithmancy, you predict those days each time with the correct calculation.” |
What?? The flying prof. is going to assist?? Great! Ella felt suddenly sick. oh Geez! She rubbed her forehead, sitting in absolute confusion. But somehow she managed to tell the answer with a raised hand, "the Personal Year Number provides the theme for the year and has the strongest influence. " |
"When your Personal Day Number matches your Life Path Number or your Soul Number, pay attention because its subtle influence is added to what's already a strong influence in your life," Willow said, with her hand in the air. |
Cale raised his hand, "Well, I'm guessing, based on what we've learned about Personal Year numbers and Personal Month numbers, that the Personal Day numbers tells us what we should focus on that day or what talents we need to tap into and use to harvest their full potential." he suggested. |
Dominic gulped nervously as the Professor glanced around, taking special notice of him. Oh canaries! He should just leave right now!! But not before answering a question first. Raising his hand, the fourth year spoke up, "Personal day numbers would refer to the influences in our daily lives." |
