Vannie nodded in understandment. "That is quite true. To enjoy ones work one must enjoy the subject," She spoke with a small smile before pausing for a few minutes before speaking again. "If I'm not mistaken you attended hogwarts right?"

Amelia blinked at the Professor for unexpectedly giving her three points for answering a rhetorical question. Not that she minded, but wow.

Still in some state of shock, she listened as the conversation progressed for a little while between Vanessa and the Astronomy Professor. "Forgive my interruption Professor, but you said you thought you could make a difference at Belle's?" She repeated, clarifying to be sure she had heard correctly. "So you knew that there would be two separate schools? But judging from your office decorum, I gather you were a Ravenclaw, correct? Prefect too?" she asked, trying to recall what else she had read about Linnea West in the old Hogwarts history book.

"Which makes me wonder, if you were a Hogwarts alumni and knew of the two separate schools, then why didn't you try to stop it?" She asked, trying to comprehend the Professor correctly.

Linnea shook her head, "You didn't hear my hesitation, Amelia? I nearly called the school Hogwarts. Although, I must say, I am glad they did a seperation of the students this time," she admitted. She wouldn't have been able to live with herself if she was actually taking someone's job away from them. But this was simply a job opening.

"It would have been nice to keep Hogwarts intact, but he had already made up his mind, and there was no one who could convince him. His own sister couldn't, and if she couldn't there was no chance of anyone else managing it.

"Yes, I did attend Hogwarts, and yes, I was prefect. Was there something about that that seems important to you? I may have been a Ravenclaw, but I, obviously, don't have anything against Hufflepuffs."

Amelia bit her lip as her cheeks reddened slightly from embarrassment. Truth be told, she hadn't noticed the hesitation, amongst other things. "Oh right. But you're glad they did a separation?" She blinked, trying to regain some composure.

"So then, do you think this separation is permanent? I mean, if the Minister already made up his mind, then you don't think he intends to keep us this way, do you? Or do you think there is a solution out of this?" Oh dear; too many questions!

"No! Not at all what I was implying, Professor! I was just merely stating that for my own clarification, and Vannie's," she explained, blushing more. "You see, I've read your name before. In a book." Uh oh; the Astronomy Professor was probably going to think she was some girl who spent all her time in the library reading...

"Considering what else they could have done? Yes, a separation was a more.....agreeable option." At least no one actually lost their job this time, Linnea thought.

"I really do not know. It'd take something mighty impressive to have Minister Cooper change his mind, I believe. As I said, his own sister, whom he loves like no other, couldn't get him to change his mind. What chance leaves that for anyone else?"

She cocked her head to the side. "What book would that be, dear?" Linnea was surprised, her, in a book? How odd....why would she be? She hadn't even finished out her seventh year...

Amelia frowned at the Professor, trying to think about what they could have done. That was quite true though, albeit not wanting to admit it. This was the Ministry they were referring to, after all. "I suppose so..." she admitted quietly, her cheeks flushing from that confession.

"Or just enough revolt against his policies? What about if he sees the schools aren't working... like if he were to pay both schools a visit and see that we aren't learning much more than we would have at Hogwarts,"
the seventh year suggested thoughtfully. "Even if that, I mean, it's possible, right?"

It wasn't difficult to tell the Professor's surprise in her question about the book. But of course she would be interested, as she was a Ravenclaw and from what she knew of claws, they were bookworms. "Just a book on past Prefects from hogwarts..."

Linnea chuckled and gave a sigh. She remembered when she was young and thought the ministry wanted them to learn as well. "It'd be nice to think so, dear. Tell me, though, and be honest, are you learning more from your original professors from Hogwarts, or from the ministry appointed ones?"

Linnea looked interested, "I certainly wish I had heard about that book before. Interesting. Wherever did you find it?"
