"I'll give you all a copy, Sheeta. As long as you're still awake and listening, that's good enough for me."

Steelsheen nodded in acknowledgment, glancing at her parchments Hmm, maybe I can still submit them now, I'm done with one of them and this other one just need a bit more tweaking she thought looking at her artwork.
Steelsheen looked at the details on the parchment when something caught her eye So the Minister belonged to Slytherin House, well that explains why we were treated so well... and why the Gryffindors got the worse of the lot she thought as she scribbled down the details on another parchment.
Sensing that they might be leaving the beloved place soon, Steelsheen speedily finished both her artwork of Hogwarts, having been inspired like never before. On one parchment she kept waving her wand repeatedly, clicking her tongue when it wasnt turning out the way she wanted it. When she was done she approached the Professor nervously, clutching her work close to her chest. "Professor Lainey" she began "I've managed to finish the sketch of Hogwarts already, here it is" she said as she handed her work in:
Then hesitatingly, she held up the other parchment "I experimented colors with my wand and well... I got a little carried away with this one" she giggled nervously: |
"Ohhhh goodness! Oh wow, Steelsheen! These are beautiful! I'd like to have a blanket or a sweater with this design on it. If I can't be IN Hogwarts, at least I could be ... in a sweater with it on it..." Lainey laughed and took the picture, starting a third stack.

A frown appeared on her face however and she looked up at the Professor.
"Slytherin house...and was Clara Belle in Ravenclaw?...first kiss.." Celandine shook her head, "why would we need to know that his best Hogwarts moment is his first Kiss with Clara Belle? Since we can't..." she blushed, " And most popular? Really?" Celandine made a face; she was sure that some of the professors had been to school with the minister and they all seemed much cooler to her. "And if he isn't planning on having children; why did he care enough to interfere?"
Celandine shrugged helplessly at the professor. "Sorry I should not say things like that." |
"Clara Belle-Cooper was a Slytherin, with Brennan. And Professor Doyle, actually." Lainey shrugged. "And I can't answer on why you need to know this, or what the Minister and Mrs. Cooper think. Whoooo knows with those two." Lainey rolled her eyes.

Crystal read the parchment then turned to the teacher, Professor how long has the minister owned the wasps? |
"The Minister was given the Wasps as a gift from his father." Ah, Lainey remembered that night. Niiiightmare. "It was a Christmas gift. Few years back now.."

Katrina raised her eyebrows. Why, exactly, were they learning that the stupid Minister's best moment at Hogwarts was his first kiss with his equally stupid wife? This was torture, plain and simple. She raised her hand and said," Professor, are we going to have any real History of Magic around here anytime soon?" She didn't want to sound rude, but this was so NOT History of Magic! |
"I'd like to be able to promise you that, Katrina. I really would. I'll do my best though." Unfortunately, as much as Lainey wanted to teach what she wanted, she liked her job and wanted to keep it...

Astrid took the stack of drawings that were handed to her. She made especially sure to hold them in such a way that would ensure she didn't wrinkling any of the pages. It was obvious that the professor really valued the girls' efforts. She then hurriedly copied down the notes on Minister Cooper. He sounded like a nice enough guy, she thought. "Good grades, most popular and well liked boy at school." So why did everyone hate him so much now. And why did he initiate all of these awful changes here at school this year? "Professor Lainey, I don't understand why on paper the Minister seems like the ideal leader, yet no one is happy. Are we ever going to attend "Hogwarts" again?" she asked. "Or is this gate as close as we'll ever get?" |
"The Minister, sadly,
is likable. He's very charming, very motivated, and in the right circumstances is a good man to have in your corner." Lainey frowned. "I don't know about Hogwarts though. I'd suggest you owl him... tell him how you feel." Not that he'd even read it. It would go to his Assistant.

She overheard some of the other Slytherins speculating about the Minister's wife's intentions to "mother" the students. To Nat, being "mothered" meant being sternly corrected for the slightest fault, and being forbidden to do anything fun - so in a way, it was already happening!
She began to scribble a few notes, careful not to let her grin show. She certainly wasn't laughing at Steelsheen, but a smile at the wrong moment was so easily misinterpreted.
However, she couldn't resist making a little dig at the Minister. Putting on her most innocent expression, she said,
"So the minister stayed faithful to Clara Belle all these years. How terribly romantic."
She only barely managed to suppress a giggle, and hoped her tone hadn't been too ironic. |
"Ah. Yes. Now, this much is true, from what I know of them. They're relationship is one of the worst kept secrets of our time. But, they both do truly seem to love the other." Lainey shrugged. "Some people are just meant to be, and they seem to work..."

Via was thinking if she's going to submit her drawing or not. She was getting tired sketching and when she saw the outcome of her work she wasn't satisfied but she didn't want to continue either. So she finally decided she's submitting it.
"Professor? Here's my drawing of Hogwarts." she sincerely said.
Via was hoping the Professor won't throw it away or something. |
Lainey smiled down at the pleasant little picture. "This is precious, Via. Just precious. I love it! Well done!"

Anna had just finished her drawing of Hogwarts when she heard the professor begin talking about the Minister again. Anna sighed, realizing that her hopes for that part of the lesson to be over were all shot. She laid her parchment on the ground near where she was seated and watched several others go up to the parchment the professor had provided and view the information. Anna picked up her drawing again and held it in her hands, waiting for a moment she could show it to the professor. |
Lainey had been sort of moving about in the crowd of girls. She peeked over Anna's shoulder to see her drawing. "Gorgeous," Lainey whispered. "Just gorgeous. It looks so inviting, doesn't it?"

It's beautiful, more than anything I could have ever imagined when I got my letter." Turning to the Professer Chalice asked "Why don't we go there, all of us girls and boys like it used to be?" She didn't wait for an answer, she started drawing Hogwarts, her art skills were not good as she had discovered when she went to muggle schools. Reguardless her teacher wanted her to draw and she would. " Oh and Professor," she said as she pulled a basket from her school bag," this is for you." It contained a bag of Berti Botts every flavor beans, a bottle of oak mulled mead, and some pumpkin pastys. |
"Oh, thank you!" Lainey took the goodies and put them into her big black bag. She'd check them all for poison or some off the wall potion, but she loved goodies! "Unfortunately, Hogwarts has been deemed unsafe. I would probably get in a lot of trouble if they knew we were out here... so Hogwarts is definitely off limits."

Lainey's eyes went huge and wide at the sight of Summer's picture. "Wow," was all she managed for a while. "Wow, Summer, this .. this is truly stunning! Makes Hogwarts look so menacing! I love it!"

She listened as Professor Lainey read out the details of the Minister's life and snorted when she heard the comment about his memorable moment at Hogwarts. "Maybe she was better looking when she was younger" she muttered. |
"Mrs. Clara Cooper? You don't find her ... attractive?" Lainey considered that. "I've always found her to be very pretty. It's part of what draws people to her..." Lainey shrugged and clapped her hands once in front of her.
"It is getting late girls. We should all head back to the ... school. Does anyone else have anymore questions?"
ooc: I will award your points for the pictures you submitted all at once, sometime in the near future. :)
