"Certainly!" Issy chriped as she happily worked on the castle. And it was hard. The castle had so much going on, she had to choose what she wanted to draw and what to leave out.
Happily, she drew a long tentacle reaching out of the lake in the background. Hehehe. "It was an early birthday gift," Issy explained to her friend. "Fredreich asked Daddy to get them for me - I guess he was hoping I'd be able to use the pretty colors when writing home but... with the owlry closed, I suppose I ought to do something with them, right?"
By far, it wasn't amazing; Issy was a doodler, not a sketcher, but she was rather proud of it.
"I drew it at night," she said. "That's why so many lights are on. Because at Hogwarts, no one sleeps and we all have fun and there's lots and lots of love."
Which explained the floating hearts...
Giggling, the girl held it up for her friends to see. | "Oh Issy! This is as precious as you are, sweetheart. I think that the hearts are just perfect! Well done!" Quote:

Kaika liked to draw occasionally, and felt completely inspired when Prof. Lainey told them to draw Hogwarts.
She did her best, and when it was done, she showed it to the Professor, "It's okay like this?" she asked, unsure if there was something special the Professor wanted to be drawn. | "This looks like the Hogwarts I dream about. Kind of fuzzy, just out of reach," Lainey sighed, but smiled at Kaika. "It's beautiful." Quote:

This is hysterical! I'm going to send it into the Prophet!" Lainey laughed until she snorted. "Hooray!" Quote:

Yup. Definitely looked like a prison ward. | "No windows, Daphne?" Lainey asked, considering the picture. "It kind of looks like ..," well, Lainey was no artist herself, so who was she to say. "It's grand. Well done." It kind of looked like Belle's... Quote:

Draw a picture? Of Hogwarts? Their beloved Hogwarts? Eep! Evangeline hated drawing .. she was rubbish at it and she knew it. But this .. this actually sounded like fun! As she crinkled her nose in concentration, looking down at her parchment, she had a feeling that it had to do with the fact that Hogwarts was there.
Finally, she finished and, lifting her parchment, showed it to Ellie unware of the ink she now had on her face. "Do you like it, Ell?" She asked the girl, with a silly grin on her face. Yes, she knew her drawing was rubbish. But she did not care in that moment. | "Oh Evangeline!! This is sooo lovely! Such nice colors and it's so soft! This makes me want to hug you, your picture, and Hogwarts!" Quote:

Krissy loved being creative. She wished she still had that tapestry she made last year. It depicted Hogwarts at night perfectly. alas that was with Helios over at the boy's school and all she had was a photo she had taken of it before she gifted it to him. Even more unfortunately, the photo was in her dorm room.
Pulling out her colored pencils she smiled and began to draw.
Paying special attention to the stained glass and brickwork she sighed happily. when she was done she held up her sketch for the professor shyly. "Is this alright professor?" Krissy giggled. | "Oh lookit! Look at the windows! You remember how the light in the mornings would hit these? In the Entrance Hall? Oh it's so beautiful, Krissy! Just beautiful." Quote:

"Perfect," she chirped. Artistry was so lovely, wasn't it? Too bad Lola was married to the dream of Hollywood.
All too pleased, Lola rose, dancing happily over to the professor. "How's this for our castle?" she asked, eyes shining with the emotion of it all. No acting. No lines. Lola Demesne wanted her Hogwarts back. | "Hah! You know - I can see ole Vindictus flying around pretending to be busy," Lainey laughed. "Fantastic picture, Lola! Fantastic!" Quote:

There she was done. Holding it up for inspection, she winced slightly when she saw some of the other drawings that were being handed in. "Wow." She said, seeing some of them. How did they do it so well?
"Here Professor." She said, getting up from her spot on the grass and walked over to where her Professor was sitting. Handing her the drawing, she continued to look at some that were handed in. | Lainey's eyes moved straight to the Greenhouse of Serie's picture. "Wow. I just picture Erikson out there mulling about... This is lovely, darling." And that was the second male professor that had crossed Lainey's mind. Was it possible that she was missing testosterone? Surely not. Definitely not. Quote:

Finally, thought Katrina, takng a last look at her rough, yet pretty passable drawing. She looked back up at the school and sighed. She was so happy that Professor Lainey had gotten them here- she so rocked for that!- but she couldn't get inside. And everyone else made it sound so lovely, and she had heard her mother say so much about it...... she felt like she wanted to cry. She hated this new school, she hated the Minister and his wife for doing this to them!
But getting emotional would have to come later. Walking over to the teacher, she said," Professor, is this o-okay?" Why was her voice shaking? Was she crying? No, she wasn't, thank goodness! She waited for the teacher's response to her drawing, hoping she hadn't noticed her voice shake. | "Another night picture!" Lainey grinned. "Hogwarts is so dreamy at night, huh? We really must come back one night." And rebel against the stupid curfew! Muahaha! Quote:

Juniper scratched her nose with a quill. Plants she could draw. Animals, too. But a building? Even if that building was Hogwarts, Juniper was afraid of how badly a drawing would turn out. Still, she would try. Even if it did turn out horribly, at least she could try.
She scrunched up her eyes and wrinkled her nose as she put quill to parchment. A straight line there, a curved line there... shading, and explanations. And lastly... a title. "Hogwarts."
Juniper sucked on the end of her quill as she eyed the drawing. It wasn't the best, obviously, but it would do. She hoped. "Professor, is this good enough?" she asked quietly after she removed the quill from her mouth. Oh, the habits Juniper employed when she was nervous. | Lainey laughed as she pointed at the cat. "You know, I'm not a big fan of the felines, but even I have missed seeing your animals prowling about Hogwarts...Perfect picture, Juniper!" Quote:

At last! Her first sight of the real Hogwarts! For a few minutes, Nathalie just sat and stared at it. Then she suddenly remembered that as a going-away present, one of her sisters, Laurelle, had given her a set of magic water colour pencils.
She pulled them out of her schoolbag, found her parchment, and began to sketch. She'd always rather enjoyed drawing, and the magic pencils were amazing. Everywhere she shaded, the pencil blurred and flowed, until it looked as if she'd been using real watercolours.
"Professor - I've finished," she said, holding up her picture OOC: found a photo at Queen's University and photoshopped it. | "This is amazing Nathalie! Your painting and the colors... it's just amazing! Wow.. It almost looks sad, doesn't it? The castle?" Lainey was sure that the castle was sad.. Quote:

After a while the brunette girl moved her eyes to Evangeline. "Tcharam!" she grinned. "So, what do you think?"
It was not as good as she wanted.. and it wasn't completely done yet but at least it was something. | "Goodness, Ellie!" Lainey smiled brightly. "You really captured the view from here, huh? Even got the gate here," Lainey waved to it. "Fantastic! I love it." Quote:

However, it seemed that she could not draw exactly what she saw for there were far too many thoughts in her mind, so many, in fact, that she barely noticed that there were gigantic tentacles on the lake's surface. Though she did manage to draw them somehow.
Fighting the urge to rock herself as if she were a baby, Melly raised her head once she believed there was nothing else she could draw in her condition and looked at the Professor. "I'm done, Ma'am," She said as clearly as her hoarse voice allowed her. | "Is that Bartholomew I see, Melly?" Lainey squinted at the picture. She laughed and touched the purple looking squid. "I bet he would appreciate you including him in your immortalizing of Hogwarts." Quote:

She shook her head as she set to her drawing. She liked the wild, and she wanted it to feature in it. So she drew it in black and she drew it in grey. She added a moon - she loved full moons - and she added a lake and a giant squid. Perfect!
In the end she labelled it. Dipping quill in the deepest black in she owned, Shumeeta wrote 'Howgwarts - Moon, Lake and Giant Squid' beneath it. Now that was nicer. She looked at her drawing once again, frowning a little.
"Is this alright, professor?" she asked, hand in air. | "Look at Bartholomew Henry!" Lainey very excitedly pointed him out. "He's waving from your picture!" Lainey laughed and squinted through the gates. "I bet he's very, very lonely these days... This is a GREAT picture, Shumeeta!"
"I'll give you all points for these when I get back to my office. Promise!" Lainey gathered up all the pictures and held them to her chest like they were a forbidden treasure. "I hate to have to do this, but would you all mind if I finished up the lesson on the Minister? I'll make it quick and painless. Or, as quick and painless as possible. Don't worry about taking notes, I'll just make you all a copy of mine. Deal? No throwing tomatoes at me?" |
