Jayne walked into the office as invited "Hey Amelia" she recognised her fellow Hufflepuff "You ok?" |

Lainey stared, the sucking of her mints coming to a halt. "Somehow, Becca, that is both completely delightful and utterly terrifying all at once." She then waited for the explanation. |
Jayne turned as Lainey spoke, she giggled as Lainey put two peppermints in her mouth, Lainey looked so funny, Jayne had always thought that Lainey was a kind of strict rebel, it was confusing, but that's who she was |

"Well you see, I stumbled down to the pond just a bit ago to find two of those stupid Ministry idiots being jerks to some students. So me and Issy here took 'em DOWN! You should've seen it! We showed them up big time. One of them was the BIG BAD WOLF! You know.. the Flying Instructor. Whatever her name is. I'm sure you know of her, right? She's such a... witch! UGH!" Wystan was her new sworn enemy, for sure. "We really got 'em good," Becca smirked. "All for you! Someone had to stand up to them, 'cause no one else would... and don't tell me they didn't deserve it, because they're horrible professors that treat students badly and don't deserve to be here! Simple as that." Hmm. Maybe she should tell her the bad news. She HAD to be honest, but did she have to do it so the woman could hear her? Hah! Brilliant. Rather hesitantly, Becca added in a nearly silent whisper so hopefully no one would hear, "We only lost Ravenclaw 50 points and were threatened to be suspended." Not too horrible, right? But maybe Lainey could read lips. Yikes. |

Amelia frowned as a younger girl, whom she recognized as being in her own house said hello. Guess being a Quidditch Player has benefits... everyone seems to know your name. Or was that a bad thing? Meh. "Yea fine," she said quietly, with a smile, but her attention was elsewhere... On the rather hyper Ravenclaw leading another 'claw into the office. Quote:
"Of course I'm still having fun; but isn't surviving part of the necessity in making life fun? I mean you couldn't very well have fun if you weren't surviving," Amelia grinned back, amused by Lainey's chipmunk interpretation. "Loony? What's wrong with that anyway? If people want to think you're loony, then let them. I'd think of it as a compliment..." she giggled at the thought, before accidentally listening to what the hyper 'claw was saying. Well she wasn't, until the girl mentioned something of interest; about the flying Professor! Wystan. Rolling her eyes, she sighed as she remembered the encounter at the start of term feast. She was about to feel enthralled and slightly envious of the two girls for getting Wystan and unnamed professor good, until she listened closely to the last part. ...lost Ravenclaw 50 points and were threatened to be suspended. Hah! Only lost 50 points?! Wanting pipe up and ask if any other houses lost points, she bit her lip and decided against it. After all, she wasn't sure if she was supposed to have heard any of that. |

Walking into the office, Rian sat down on a chair. She listened while the first year Ravenclaw told the proffessor about the 50 points that had been lost from Ravenclaw, and grimmaced. She didn't know what to say, and it seemed weird to just introduce herself to the proffessor when the other girls had something to talk about. |
Emily, finding that she had dazed out, quickly stepped through the throng of people near the door and knocked the doorframe three times before entering the office, balancing the tray of chocolate mint muffins that Professor Lainey apparently loved. "Hi, Professor Lainey!" She smiled brightly (which was pretty rare from a girl who was obsessed with Emily the Strange-esque clothing and read palms AND owned a really fat bunny who could give Garfield a run for his money) and sat down in a chair next to a little first year girl. "These- " She grunted slightly at the weight of the silver tray and shifted them onto the desk, squishing some of the paperwork and spilling crumbs on the mis-spelled nameplate "Are for you." The chocolate-mint muffins looked glorious, sitting there in all their brown-with-mint-green-swirls on top of them. Almost droolworthy. And they were still sorta warm and pretty sticky looking. |

Lainey blinked a few times, surely having misunderstood. "You ... you did what?????? DID YOU KILL HER?!?!" Lainey's eyes were showing entirely too much white. She looked to the other girls in her office briefly, Maya and her muffins, Jess. First find out if her girls had a hidden body - then the others. |
"No! Professor, no!" Issy gasped, horrified, holding her hands up, fingers spread and her eyes widened. Her head whipped side to side wildly; KILL her? Never! "Of course we didn't! Just... we... she was being awful and rude, Professor so... so we told her..." Swallowing felt painful and Issy had to look away from Professor Lainey to do so. Suddenly, she wasn't so proud of standing up to the Ministry Officials but felt awfully sick and shameful now. Professor Lainey was probably horribly disappointed in her. Scuffing her shoe on the ground, she sucked her lips in, licking them profusely. "She said something about Azkaban and Dementors sucking out our souls and... I told her we didn't need to go to Azkaban cos they were sucking out our souls as it was..." Her whisper came quiet, her lips barely moving as she mumbled to the floor. Closing her eyes, she tightened her hands into fists. "That woman was calling Caitlin stinky and... she told Becca and me we were slow and it sounded like she was only taking points away because Vindictus had something at the Boys' school? Professor, the whole thing is so injust and... I'ms orry for losing all those points, but what does a House Cup matter if it's from THIS stupid school?" Oh, and there were the inevitable tears... she felt them burning between her scrunched up lids and she struggled to keep her face stoic, but was failing as her lip and chin quivered and finally, she had to reach a fist up and wipe her eyes. "They're out to get us, Professor! Don't you see that? Juni's right - they probably DO eat the students! I don't think any of them care and if they don't care how are w going to be proper students? Very few really care at all and they're so mean and rude and I'm so very sick of putting up with them, Professor but I can't anymore, I had to, I had to say that to her because if we didn't who would? Who would stand up to those rotten, awful people?" |
Seeing the young girl crying made Summer think. "Something has to be about this!" she exclaimed in a rather spontanious outburst. "Professor, if this is what the school is doing to the students, making them cry because they are getting threatened with Azkaban. Why cant the ministery see what is going on and what it is doing? Why couldn't a Ministery member have seen this, one that actualy cares about the school." Realizing she just used those two words in the same sentance, "I had family who used to work there." |
"Oh darling, please, please don't cry! I just thought... when you said ... well never mind. I'll.... we will go speak with flying instructor. Right now. Come along, dolls!" Lainey put down her tins of peppermints after shoving a handful in her pockets. She grabbed up the hem of her dress and marched out to go find Wystan, |
"Kill her?" Becca repeated aloud, then bursted into laughter. She listened to Issy's reply and frowned, wondering what happened to the happy state she was just in a bit ago when it came to their amazing defeat of Wystan. And then it appeared that her best friend was crying! That's definitely not how the situation was supposed to go. The frown grew even more as Lainey stated that they were going to go see the flying instructor. "Are you sure that's a good idea? She might eat you!" Becca grabbed Issy's hand, hurried to Lainey's side, then left the office. This would be interesting, to say the least. Even though they had not killed Wystan, no one would know for sure if this upcoming meeting would end in death or not. Oh the intensity. |
Gwen came to a stop in front of Lainey's office. She couldn't help smiling broadly as she hung it on her door: She beamed, and quickly scurried away down the corridor. |
