Linnea flitted about the room, completely excited about today's lesson, hoping that maybe the students would actually pay attention this time. She left the windows open, it was dark outside anyway, and had the desks set up in a circle. Unlocking the door, Linnea finished her set up and awaited her students' arrivals.

Cassandra was the first to walk into the room. She waited for the professor to tell her where to sit... or lie... with this one, one never knew.

Jai walked in after Cassandra and almost bumped into her. The room was set up in a circle. Weird. She stood beside Cassandra and gave her a respectful nod. Cassandra was a crazy bat too. "Good morning professor."

Walking into the classroom Vannie noticed that she was the third to get there. Better than to be late though She thought whilst looking at the professor

Of course, the first two to enter would be Slytherins. "Hello! Have a seat in one of the chairs, class will begin once the rest of the class shows up." She gave the girls a smile and started going through one of her drawers.

Cassandra flashed a fake smile and proceeded to a seat. She turned and gave Jai a nod of recognition.

Juniper's head was ducked as she made her way into the classroom. She had never been very good at astronomy, and the fact that it was taught by a ministry professor did not make the class any more appealing to her. But still, she was there. She would learn something, no matter what.

Linnea looked around at those gathered and smiled once more. "Let's begin, shall we? Why don't some of you tell me what you know about earth and let's go from there."

Cassandra's hand shot up, "It is the third planet from the Sun. Earth is the largest of the terrestrial planets in the Solar System in diameter, mass and density. It is also referred to as the Earth, Planet Earth, the World, and Terra."

Linnea smiled encouragingly at Cassandra and waited a very long while for someone else to reply. Finally giving up on her class, she sighed, "Thank you, Cassandra, 5 points for your house."

She stood then and played an awful sound of ear-piercing chirps and whistles for a minute then turned it off. "Can anyone guess what that was?"

Magesta thought over the question, "Umm...is it satellite signals? Or it could be maybe lots of birds." She laughed and began fiddling with her quill.

"The Earth emits those sounds that could be heard by any aliens who might be listening, muggle astronomers have discovered." Her hand still high in the air.

The sound was awful.

Linnea sent a dark look to the immature Ravenclaw who was taking this class as a joke, "You might want to behave yourself more, Magesta. 10 points from Ravenclaw for your immaturity."

Shayna raised her hand, finding herself drawing into the lesson with interest. 'It is created by charged particles from the solar wind which collide with Earth's magnetic field.'

Evangeline rose her hand up in the air. "It's created by the charged particles from the solar wind that collide with Earth's magnetic field." She said.

Juniper's hand went up faster now that she knew what they were talking about. "Oh, it's created by charged particles in the solar wind colliding with the magnetic field," she said, trying not to feel annoyed by the girl who had just lost ten points..

Magesta frowned, What the...but I was serious about the satellite signals. She sighed and sat back in her chair after a quick glance at the Slytherin Prefect. She listened to the talk about radiation with a certain amount of interest.
