A battered looking notice board takes up a large space on the main wall of the common room. Here and there are scraps of parchment written by students or professors showing announcements or advertisements, make sure to stop and read them everyday before heading out of the common room.

Herbology Lesson One HOMEWORK!!

1) Research fertilizers what is the number (ex. 10-10-10) on fertilizers meant for flowers and generic fruits? (5 points)
2) How would you care differently for ground-based flowers (tulips and roses) than you would vine-based? Tree based? (5 points)
3) What other things might be added to the soil to help provide needed nutrients to flowering/fruiting plants? (5 points)

Extra Credit:
Pick one plant that flowers and track its lineage (is it a monocot or a dicot? from the magnolia family?). Find one other flower in the same family. Does it have the same care requirements? What can you determine from that? (5 points)

Transfiguration Homework 2

For the homework, practice the spell somewhere in the RP and send Raider a PM with the link to the post you practiced it in.

Other info: It is called the Induso spell, which transfigures paper that has been written on into a blank sheet of paper. The incantation is Induso, make sure you stress the doo part of it. In-DOO-so. Make sure you run your wand over each word on the page from right to left, working down line by line. Dont touch the parchment with your wand, keep it 2 to 3 inches away from the page.

2. Calculate Harry Potter's Three Major Cycles and provide the textbook's explanation of those cycle numbers. Also give your opinion/interpretation of his First Major Cycle and how well it correlates with what we know about his younger years.

Two spells learned:
1) Clothes Changing spell; Portanis: For the wand movement you simply tap your right shoulder, then your stomach, and finally your left hip, while reciting the incantation and thinking very carefully about what you want your altered outfit to look like.
2) Haniros spell: it is the reversal spell for this particular method of transfiguration. Tap your head once, your right shoulder then your left imagine yourself as you normally are and recited Haniros once.
