| | | Divination Lesson One Professor Blaylock flicked her wand to open the trapdoor leading into her class and lower the silver stepladder. She sat in the middle of the circular room on an ottoman, with several very old books surrounding her. The classroom is scattered with small circle tables with three to four beanbags surrounding each.
She looked over at the clock on the other side of the room and noted that it was still a bit early. OOC: Come on in, sit yourself down and try to minimize the chatter. |

"You're not in uniform, that's 5 points from Ravenclaw and I would appreciate it if you would come to class in the compulsory Hogwarts uniform next time."
She stood up from her ottoman, glanced at the clock and waved her wand to shut the trapdoor. Any students to enter from this point on would lose their house 5 points.
"Good morning, students, and welcome to the first Divination lesson of the term." She looked around at all of them, "If there are no questions you would like to ask of me, I will begin immediately." OOC: Any students who haven't posted before now, you may still RP yourself in my class...just DO NOT RP yourself coming in. Late. Or else you will lose points. Assume you were always here. |

She giggled at the professor's response. She felt a little sorry for the Hufflepuff - he struck her as somewhat .. stiff. Beanbags were the total opposite of stiff.
Aschere tried to figure out what today's class was about by looking around the room. All she could make out was what seemed to be the usual clutter, nothing out of the Divination-room-ey ordinary.

| connoisseur of comfort ❅ Crayola's Wibby Mrs Alex Turner ❅ Netflix and meow Clifford happily bounced on his beanbag. It was worth coming to this lesson just for the bouncing! That Hufflepuff who was complaining about them was weird, this was great!
He snickered when Ravenclaw lost points and the bouncing slowed slightly when he heard the Professor begin talking.

"Hi Kingston," she smiled. "May I accompany you during this class?" Looking up at the red head, he gently smiled. "Why not? You're free to sit wherever you like, Miss." Kingston told her, a twinkle can be seen in his eyes.
As the Professor announced the class would be starting, Kingston turned his attention to her. Divination wasn't a good subject for him, but at least it was a bit entertaining.
Sighing, he wished he had a free period to run down to the Library. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Phineas Fischer Fourth Year | *snortles* MAMA!Shroom Gwen fidgeted in her beanbag. If there was anything she hated, it was clutter. She was looking forward to the class, however; she'd always been curious about Divination. Even better, maybe she'd learn something useful before her parents came to drop whatever bomb they were going to drop. Gwen absentmindedly began twirling a long black curl around her finger.

| Nabs!Ama | | The Happy Hufflepuff Clearing her throat, Professor Blaylock willed the attention of the entire class towards her so she could begin. "Alright, since none of you have any inquiries...I'm going to go right into it."
She eyes the bouncing boy for a moment. Strange kids.
"Divination, as I'm sure you all know, is the the art of ascertaining information by interpreting omens or through messages received from an alleged supernatural agency."
"That is the definition, but can anybody here give me their personal interpretation of the subject?" |

| ❄ Chasing Waterfalls & Wonder ❄ | Mama Badger | Eva's Soul Sister | An OG™ | It's all in the Numbers Amelia looked up at the Professor, as she waited for her to begin class. When she first started at Hogwarts, she didn't think she would like Divinations, but Blaylock proved to make the class very interesting. She certainly knew how to entertain the students best; or perhaps the students knew how to entertain her. Either way, it would be a good class.
She sat comfortably in her beanbag chair, as straight up as possible, and glanced over at the other two members of her table: Lindsey and the high-class Hufflepuff boy whose name she did not know.

| Lindsey smiled as he smiled up at her and encouraged her to take a seat. She dropped her bag beside her and looked over at the teacher. She raised her hand at the first question. "Diviniation is knowing how to understand signs to take an accurate guess at fate and the future."

| ❄ Chasing Waterfalls & Wonder ❄ | Mama Badger | Eva's Soul Sister | An OG™ | It's all in the Numbers Amelia thought about the question that Blaylock posed, before raising her hand hardly a moment later, "Divinations is a type of magic that attempts to foresee future events. Some wizards and witches consider this magic to be impractical, because there are no facts to prove these visions. There are several types of Divination; the one that uses fortune-telling is not as precise compared with one that centaurs use. There is also the true form, which is called Seeing, but is only done by Seers or those who possess the Inner Eye." Once realizing she had rambled enough, she bit her lower lip nervously, and hoped that she was on the right track.

| Nabs!Ama | | The Happy Hufflepuff "Yes, yes, you are all correct, of course." She smiled and raised one hand, palm towards the students to indicate the need for silence, "There is no right or wrong in this subject...Divination deals with our past, present and future and therefore is incredibly subjective."
She went on to explain with the characteristic hand gestures, "Who is to say that what you interpret is set in stone? There are any number of possibilities, and the choices you make can affect any one of them."
Thinking of Armand, she went on, "For example, what if you let a reading affect your choices? Or if you had not known of the meaning behind a certain omen, you would have reacted in a different way? Divination is an incredibly uncertain art, which is why it is held in such low regard by so many people."
Sighing, she went on, "However, I will try my best to teach you to be open minded, to see beyond the obvious and allow yourself to...consider the possibilities." She waved her hand a bit, "Who can tell me how Divination differs from fortune-telling?" |

Zoraida came into the class it looked a bit full but looking at the clock she noticed she was about a minute or so early. Which was good. Taking a seat in a comfy bean bag next to Tori she looked around at her surroundings. Lots of old books and tables with beanbags around.
Zora looked over at Tori and said "Hi"
Then looked up as the Professor started class.
Zora said " My interpretation of divination is predicting the future based on the past and signs shown in the present"
