DADA Lesson 3 Professor Rae-Branxton lined the desks all around the classroom, leaving a large open space. She then returned to her desk to admire the set-up and to continue to read a bit of parchment. |
"Hello, Headmistress, hope you're doing well today!" Diabolica smiled as she took a seat at the front of class. |
Xana walked into the classroom. "Hello, Headmistress!" she said shyly as she went to a desk near Diabolica. |
"I'm doing well, thank you," Cassandra smiled at the girls. "I'm making plans for a third birthday party for the twins." She tapped her quill. "I'm not sure what they'd want to do... they're both so different. Feel free to take a seat and we'll start momentarily." |
Hello Professor." Josh said sitting next to xana. He had forgotten about their fight. " Hey Xana, Hey dia." he said giving them both a smile. |
"Hello headmistress, having a nice day I hope?" Willow said happily to the teacher as she took sit in an empty chair. Certainly, winning the quidditch game had left her in an extremely good mood. She had not felt so happy in a while. |
"Josh..." Xana said, nodding. "What sort of things do your children like, headmistress?" |

Amelia walked into the DADA room smiling, as she took one of the seats around the circle. Judging from the large open space in the room, she figured they would be doing some sort of practical application today. As she took out her notebook and quill, she gazed up at the Headmistress, "Good morning! How are you today?" she asked, cheerily. |
"Well," she considered it. "Sophia likes looking at books and coloring, and she loves her daddy. She says she wants 'white' cake and lots of sprinkles. Genevieve loves animals, and she's a lot more outgoing and friendly. And, of course, she wants chocolate cake with ice cream." Rae-Branxton laughed. "How did they come from the same parents?" |

Krissy took a seat and smiled. It was obvious that the professor loves her children dearly. Taking a piece of parchment and a quill out of her bag she prepared to take notes. |
Kayla walked into the classroom. "Hello Professor" she said as she walked by, the desks had been pushed aside and there was a large clearing in the middle. This is going to be interesting Kayla thought. |
animal shaped sprinkles." josh threw in. |

"That's a good idea, Xana," Rae-Branxton smiled at the girl as she wrote down the ideas. She winked at Josh. "If I can find them, the girls would love those." "Alright! Enough about my girls. I want us to discuss beginning and advanced duelling today, so let's get through the boring stuff first and then we can begin. How does a formal duel start?" |
Cassandra raised her hand "You bow." |
Amelia knew this answer and raised her hand instantly, "a formal duel starts with a bow, Professor." |
"By bowing to one another?" Krissy said raising her hand |
"I believe you have to bow professor" Willow said when she rised her hand |
"Excellent, Cassandra. We start a formal duel with a bow. I kind of always thought the bow was a little silly, because you duel to learn how to really fight, and I've never been in a fight where we had time to BOW." She snorted a bit at the thought. "ANYWAY, after you bow... then what?" OOC: I'm giving five to Hufflepuff for Amelia's answer too, because I know Cassandra edited, but the edit was about the time... blah blah blah. :) |
"dueling poitions are taken at proper distance." |
"Then you must walk apart from each other, get into your duelling position, and start the duel, as I remember." |
"Perfect! So!" She hopped off the desk and hurried to the open space. "I bow." She did so, executing a silly little bow with a flourish. "I... what do you feel is the appropriate distance? You need to agree on it beforehand, but there is a standard distance many wizards use." |
"Ten paces each." |
