DADA Lesson 3

Professor Rae-Branxton lined the desks all around the classroom, leaving a large open space. She then returned to her desk to admire the set-up and to continue to read a bit of parchment.

DeathEater24601 12-16-2007 01:49 AM

"Hello, Headmistress, hope you're doing well today!" Diabolica smiled as she took a seat at the front of class.

XanaSnape 12-16-2007 01:49 AM

Xana walked into the classroom.

"Hello, Headmistress!" she said shyly as she went to a desk near Diabolica.

Cassirin 12-16-2007 01:52 AM

"I'm doing well, thank you," Cassandra smiled at the girls. "I'm making plans for a third birthday party for the twins." She tapped her quill. "I'm not sure what they'd want to do... they're both so different. Feel free to take a seat and we'll start momentarily."

*JoshMoonson* 12-16-2007 01:52 AM

Hello Professor." Josh said sitting next to xana. He had forgotten about their fight. " Hey Xana, Hey dia." he said giving them both a smile.

Angie 12-16-2007 01:52 AM

"Hello headmistress, having a nice day I hope?" Willow said happily to the teacher as she took sit in an empty chair. Certainly, winning the quidditch game had left her in an extremely good mood. She had not felt so happy in a while.

XanaSnape 12-16-2007 01:53 AM

"Josh..." Xana said, nodding. "What sort of things do your children like, headmistress?"

"Aww! That's so sweet! They really are quite adorable--even though I've only seen them a few times." Diabolica smiled. "What things do they like?"

PhoenixRising 12-16-2007 01:54 AM

Amelia walked into the DADA room smiling, as she took one of the seats around the circle. Judging from the large open space in the room, she figured they would be doing some sort of practical application today. As she took out her notebook and quill, she gazed up at the Headmistress, "Good morning! How are you today?" she asked, cheerily.

Cassirin 12-16-2007 01:58 AM

"Well," she considered it. "Sophia likes looking at books and coloring, and she loves her daddy. She says she wants 'white' cake and lots of sprinkles. Genevieve loves animals, and she's a lot more outgoing and friendly. And, of course, she wants chocolate cake with ice cream." Rae-Branxton laughed. "How did they come from the same parents?"

"Sounds as though they are truly yin and yang... Hey, that'd make for a cool cake, a yin-yang symbol. Could you do a party where they make their own books about animals or something like that, or a trip to the care of magical creatures park to see the gentle animals and then go do a book craft about them? Something that combines their interests like that?" She blushed, realizing she was probably getting too personal into the headmaster's business.

Krissy Moon 12-16-2007 02:03 AM

Krissy took a seat and smiled. It was obvious that the professor loves her children dearly.
Taking a piece of parchment and a quill out of her bag she prepared to take notes.

Kayla walked into the classroom. "Hello Professor" she said as she walked by, the desks had been pushed aside and there was a large clearing in the middle. This is going to be interesting Kayla thought.

animal shaped sprinkles." josh threw in.

Diabolica thought for a moment. "Hmm...that is hard to plan..." she laughed. "How about a party with animal colouring sheets and cake that's half chocolate, half white cake?" she guessed. She was no good at planning kids' parties...she laughed at Josh's comment.

Cassirin 12-16-2007 02:08 AM

"That's a good idea, Xana," Rae-Branxton smiled at the girl as she wrote down the ideas. She winked at Josh. "If I can find them, the girls would love those."

"Alright! Enough about my girls. I want us to discuss beginning and advanced duelling today, so let's get through the boring stuff first and then we can begin. How does a formal duel start?"

Droo 12-16-2007 02:08 AM

Cassandra raised her hand "You bow."

PhoenixRising 12-16-2007 02:13 AM

Amelia knew this answer and raised her hand instantly, "a formal duel starts with a bow, Professor."

Krissy Moon 12-16-2007 02:14 AM

"By bowing to one another?" Krissy said raising her hand

Angie 12-16-2007 02:17 AM

"I believe you have to bow professor" Willow said when she rised her hand

Cassirin 12-16-2007 02:19 AM

"Excellent, Cassandra. We start a formal duel with a bow. I kind of always thought the bow was a little silly, because you duel to learn how to really fight, and I've never been in a fight where we had time to BOW." She snorted a bit at the thought. "ANYWAY, after you bow... then what?"

OOC: I'm giving five to Hufflepuff for Amelia's answer too, because I know Cassandra edited, but the edit was about the time... blah blah blah. :)

XanaSnape 12-16-2007 02:20 AM

"dueling poitions are taken at proper distance."

DeathEater24601 12-16-2007 02:20 AM

"Then you must walk apart from each other, get into your duelling position, and start the duel, as I remember."

Cassirin 12-16-2007 02:23 AM

"Perfect! So!" She hopped off the desk and hurried to the open space. "I bow." She did so, executing a silly little bow with a flourish. "I... what do you feel is the appropriate distance? You need to agree on it beforehand, but there is a standard distance many wizards use."

XanaSnape 12-16-2007 02:24 AM

"Ten paces each."
