Library Corners In a dark corner of the library there are a few students congregated in the shadows of the bookcases. Their voices are soft and they conduct themselves in a polite manner. They are simply those who enjoy the darkness. A few are doing homework scribbling away on parchment, a few sitting in the large arm chairs reading a book by the light of their wands. The rest are sitting in a small circle conversing very quietly about their day and lives... |
Belle skipped into the library and over to the corner with the big fluffy chairs and couches. She giggled and set her stuff down on one of the big fluffy maroon chairs and plopped down into one of the others, instantly sinking down into it. She sighed and stretched before pulling out a book. She curled up and flipped the book open. Shayna crawled out of Belle's bag and stretched, yawning. Belle had rudle woken her up when she threw the bag down. She shook her head and looked around the room. Nice big chair. Cozy. She curled up against one of the armrests and started to purr. |
"Get back here, Sergeant Gus Gus!" A tall boy came running into the Library, chasing a white streak. His curls flew back from his face as he picked up speed, chasing for his rodent. Unfortunately, Jamie hadn't yet grown into his massive feet and tripped on them, stumbling till he tumbled onto the lowset couch of the corners. "Ooooof!" He hadn't been in here in a couple terms. Not like he used to - Jamie religiously visited the Corner because it made him feel closer to Ashlie. The boy didn't seem to notice the girl sitting just a few feet away. |

"It's okay, I'm fine," Jamie said, unrolling himself and righting himself on the couch. As he did so, Sergeant Gus Gus crawled out from a corner onto his master's chest, eyes brighter than usual. "I'm used to little accidents. Sergeant Gus Gus seems to like getting me into trouble," he added with a sheepish grin. "By the way, I'm Jamie." |

"Sergeant Gus Gus? Bite?" Jamie laughed. "Nah, he might nibble on your finger or ear or nose but it never hurts. He only does it out of love, don't you Sergey?" The boy nuzzled noses with his ferret before sitting up. "Mmm. How's Bells?" he asked. "I like that name." He glanced over at the girl's kitten before nodding. "Your mum's right. They are long rats. But they're so cute!" |

Shayna got up, stretched and climbed up the armrest, trying to figure out a way to get to Belle. She jumped and landed on Belle's lap, meowing happily. Belle shook her head and looked at Jamie. "This is Shayna. My little bandit kitty." |
"Hi there, Shayna," Jamie greeted the kitty. "Aww, how cute! She does look like a bandit. I love the black band. She and Sergeant Gus Gus match in colors," he pointed out, pointing the band of black around Sergeant Gus Gus's eyes and the black rings around his body. "How old is she?" he asked, nodding his head towards the cat. "I have a fluffy ginger cat. Admiral Michael. He's my baby. I've had him since I was young." |

"That's alright," said Jamie, petting the kitty as Sergeant Gus Gus stood up and sniffed the cat, his pink nose twitching and whiskers flicking. "I love cats. I love animals in general but cats are my favorite. My mum used to have one that sounds like your sisters. She was pretty. A tabby but her feet and the tips of her ears were white so we called her Tips. She had the prettiest mint green eyes." Scratching the kitty under her chin, he smiled at it. "You're a very pretty kitty, do you know that?" |

Obediently, Jamie opened the compact and held the mirror to the kitten, waiting to see her reaction. "I do," the boy said, stretching out on the couch. "My friend, Ashlie, made this when she went to Hogwarts. She set it all up and it's been the same since. She's a lot older than me, cos she was my older sister's friend. But she is a witch and no one else in my family is. I stay with her in the summer and she's the one who got me started on this whole 'magic world' thing, as it is." |

"See. I told you." Belle yawned and turned towards Jamie. "You never answered my question. I asked you what kind of music you liked." She said, reaching out and poking one of his curls. "Wow." She grabbed the end of the curl and pulled it out until it was straight, making sure that she didn't pull too hard, and let it go. "Ooooh. It goes BOING." She said, giggling. "I wish my hair would go boing. It goes...swish." She pulled some of her hair over her shoulder and poked it. "Seeeeeeee." |
Chuckling at the cat, Jamie looked up. "Oh... sorry," he said sheepishly. "I didn't hear you ask. Mmm. Music? I listen to a lot of stuff. I'm big into old muggle stuff but the new stuff is pretty good. I love things from the fifties to the turn of the millenium. It's all so different." He pet Shayna again. "Isn't that a pretty kitty looking back at you?" Jamie was used to people playing with his hair, even random strangers. There was that one Gryffindor girl that pulled on his curls in the train before running away. He never did catch who that was. "Awww, everyone's hair has something special to it," he said, though secretly, Jamie too loved his hair. It was all over and mussy and the curls did indeed go boing! and he loved it greatly. No one else in his family had curls quite like his and the only other one who did have curls was his mum. |

"My hair is just...naturally straight...and naturally purplish. It's weird. Everyone says it looks blue or purple when the light hits it, but i just see black." She shrugged and watched Jamie pet Shayna. "I like oldies too and the new stuff and I also like country and rock. Not much wizarding music...interests me." She looked at the ferret again and smiled. "Wanna come over here, Sergeant Gus Gus?" She asked, patting her lap. |
"If we had some light here, I'd have to see what color I think of your hair," Jamie told Bells. "But. This is the Library Corners and it's supposed to be dark. Bucky doesn't like coming here since you can hardly see. She doesn't like the dark." He glanced down at his ferret who seemed to be trying to snuggle up to the cat. Sergeant Gus Gus had identity issues. "Wizarding rock is pretty cool, actually. There's some that I love - it's so danceable and the melody just rocks." Hearing his name, Sergeant Gus Gus perked and glanced over at the girl. Did she have food? Did she smell funny? What did her hair taste like? Scurrying down Jamie's leg, he bound to the girl and climbed her legs, snuffling all the while. |

An eleven year old boy peeked in through the library door and slowly pushed it open. His pockets had about thee chocolate frogs and a small wrapped chocolate muffin in them. He hoped that the librarian wouldn't notice and let him in. The librarian in the local library in France used to throw him out if her had any food item with him. Mostly it was chocolate. It's not his fault he needed to be fed every now and then. He was exploring the castle just then and he needed his supplies. Nicolas walked in when nobody seemed to have noticed anything. It's not like many people were there. He could only see two people in there. His eyes fell on a ferret. He wanted to go and touch the cute ferret. But would they let him? He walked up to them anyways. Besides, he wanted to meet people. This could be a perfect way of meeting them. "Hello." He beamed at both the girl and the boy who tood in front of him now. "I am Nicolas." He told them rather excitedly. "I am a firstie." Grinning he waited for their response. ooc: Don't you DARE ignore my charrie again Ashlie |
Jamie took in a deep breath. "Bucky... is my best friend. But. Last term we had a few problems and now she has a boyfriend so we don't hang out as much. So. No, Bucky isn't my girlfriend. She's just my best friend." The churn in his stomach begged to differ. Sergeant Gus Gus continued his snuffling, exciting further at the cat treat. He would eat anything offered, thank you very much. Eating it from her hand, he nibbled her palm a little, looking for more, before climbing her arm to her shoulder quickling, snuffling through her hair and against her neck. From the girl's hair though, Sergeant Gus Gus smelled... food. It smelled like Jamie. He perked, peeked through the girl's hair and then made his way towards the newcomer, snuffling more and jumped onto the boy's legs, claws clinging to his pants. "Hullo, there," Jamie said, looking up. "A firstie, eh? I'm Jamie. I'm a sixth year. And this is Bells, she's a... what year are you, Bells?" |

Just as Nicolas had introduced himself, he felt the ferret jump onto his legs. "Aww." He said. "Such a cute ferret." The ferret clung onto his pants. He knew animals had always loved him and everything, but not this much that it would cling onto him just as soon as he stepped in front of it. He liked it anyways. "Sixth year?" He exclaimed. "Wow. My step sister is a fifth year." He told them. "Nice to meet you Jamie and Belle." He said and heard Jamie ask Belle which year she was in. They had probably only just met. Nicolas looked at the two grown ups in front of him and then sat down. "Fifth year? Cool!" He exclaimed. "I haven't seen much of Hogwarts yet." He told them. "But I like it so far. The feast was awesome." |

"Very cute pets." He told them. "I have an owl and a pygmy puff too." He said and his hand reached into his pocket. It had been about forty-five minutes since his last chocolate frog and he was starting to get hungry. He had three left, just enough for all of them. "My owl is called Louisa and my blue pygmy puff is Fluffy." He told them and drew out three chocolate frogs, his muffin was safe in his robe pocket. "Frogs anyone?" He asked them as he opened one and popped it in his mouth. Yummmy..... |
Jamie watched as Shayna jumped from his lap and made a run for the new boy. He nodded at Nicolas, withdrawing a frog from his chocolate bag. "I know her. We've never really talked or anything but I've seen he around. Ravenclaw, right?" At least that was the only Jolie Jamie knew of. "My friend has a pink pygmy puff. Poor thing is a male. But he's fun to take swimming. Haha. I have three pets; that's Sergeant Gus Gus," he said, pointing at the white ferret who was now climbing Nicolas's front to get to his shoulder. "I also have a ginger cat, Admiral Michael, and an owl called Commander Hoot Hoot." |
