CoMC Class #1 - Serpents

Graphic by Nienna - aka Lizzie <3

Sat, cross-legged on the table, pressed right up against the wall was Professor Maline. The room was dark, save for a small fire in the middle of the classroom, and to the left of the fire, up across the wall was a trio, of covered up cages.

Around the edge of the room was a load of bean bags, and Professor Maline invites you to take a seat on them, and you notice that there are snakes in her hair and Anna the snake is wrapped around her shoulders.

ooc - due to a last minute schedule change, class is now, and will run on until tomorrow most likely.

Saz Hale 03-18-2007 10:17 PM

Sarah walked into the classroom and took a seat near the front and got her parchment, quill and book out ready for taking notes

CelestialLight 03-18-2007 10:21 PM

Vince went inside the room, his footsteps making sounds as he closed his eyes, walking up to a bean bag in the front row. When he opened his eyes, he almost felt like shouting as he saw snakes on her hair, looking to be very slimy and dangerous. I should've moved to the back rows! he thought, looking around since he was the one of the first to go into the classroom. "Uh... hello professor," he said, his heart beating faster than ever. He smiled, waiting for more students to come inside the room.

Davvy_Wavvy 03-18-2007 10:22 PM

Davina walked into class and took her seat in the front row. She figured she might as well attend all her classes and help to keep huffle puff in the running for the House Cup. Besides, it was her sixth year and she really needed to get serious.

The Old Toad 03-18-2007 10:22 PM

Gem Jewels almost danced into the room with anticipation. She sat down and put her bag down, now jumping up and down with excitement. If their was a class that she like just as much as Charms- it was Care Of Magical Creautures. Gem loved animals big and small, slimy and smooth, legless and plentiful in limbs. She pulled her shortish black hair back into a ponytail for convenience and sat straight, looking attentive. She grinned and stopped bouncing up and down. Holy crow! thought Gem as she saw snakes in the teachers hair and an anaconda around her shoulders. She wasnt afraid of snakes, she thought they were rather prety, but she found herself yearning for a seat farther away from these serpents.

hermione1994 03-18-2007 10:23 PM

Herlucy Black walked into the classroom and found a seat. She then began to take all the things she thought she would need out of her bag.

Kaos.Doodles 03-18-2007 10:24 PM

Alexis walked inside the classroom and sat somewhere in the middle. She took out her suff and waited for her first class to begin.

miss weasley 03-18-2007 10:26 PM

Eliza strolled into the Care Of Magical Creatures classroom, she smiled at Professor Maline as she pulled up a bean bag near the Professor "Good Day Professor!I suspect this class will be about snakes!" she said, pointing towards the several snakes in the Professor's Hair.

Holmesian Feline 03-18-2007 10:27 PM

Kat walked into the classroom and smiled at the professor. "Hello Professor Maline," she said as she took a seat on one of the bean bags and prepared for the lesson.

UnicornDragonPatronus 03-18-2007 10:28 PM

Athena entered the classroom, smiling. She loved this class and was always excited for the first one. She took a seat close to the front, and began to pull out the proper materials. She smiled up at the Professor as she got herself organized.

lemondrop13 03-18-2007 10:28 PM

Kennedy entered Professor Maline's classroom and took a seat in a purple bean bag toward the middle of the room close to the fire. She placed her tote bag on the floor in front of her and took out a quill, ink, parchment, and her textbook. While she waited for class to begin, Kennedy watched the snakes crawl in and out of Professor Maline's hair. Kennedy thought to herself, "I love animals but I am not sure if I would ever let them make a home of my scalp."

Austin 03-18-2007 10:29 PM

Brooke came into the classroom and took a seat near the back. "Hello professor." she said with a smile as she pulled out a quill.

starlightangel 03-18-2007 10:30 PM

Professor Maline beamed as the classroom soon began to fill up, and she greeted everyone back warmly, shifting on the desk so Anna the snake could wrap about her leg too.

"You catch on fast Eliza," Professor Maline laughed, "I think i'll wait a few more moments for some others before class starts properly," She beamed, and absently placed a snake from her own blonde hair, into Elizas'.

Golden Monkey 03-18-2007 10:31 PM

Ariana walked in, excited about her first lesson of CoMC. She sat down near the back, took our her books and waited for class to start. She had a huge smile on her face, ready as she held her quill at the ready.

The Old Toad 03-18-2007 10:34 PM

Gem smiled. The teachers here seemed to be nice, and this one was no exception at all! She giggled as she took the snake out of her own hair and put it into Eliza's. The snake was rather pretty, she just hoped it wasnt venomous. But she was sure Professor Maline wouldnt place them in any real danger... "Hello Professor," Gem Jewels greeted timidly. She was a shy girl, unless she had sugar, then there was no shutting her up but at the moment she hadnt had any sugar so wasnt hyper and when you're dealing with snakes its hardly a good thing to be uncharestically hyper.

miss weasley 03-18-2007 10:35 PM

Eliza smiled as Professor Maline put a snake in her own Long brown hair, the snake weaved its way through her hair and rested it's head on her shoulder. She loved the way Professor Maline was friends with Natalie's mtoher, even though that was quite bad.

starlightangel 03-18-2007 10:36 PM

Ophelia smiled once more, it seemed the class was full enough, and as soon as Anna had slithered off her body she deftly hopped off the desk.

"Can any of you tell me, why i would be stupid enough to start a fire in the middle of my class room?" She asked them all. "You don't have to worry about being wrong or right, i just want your ideas," Professor Maline grinned, slipping her hands in the pockets of her jacket.

MizFit_of_Society 03-18-2007 10:37 PM

Jill entered the classroom and said, "Hello, professor." Taking a seat in the middle of the class she took out her quill and notebook.

Godric_Gryffindor 03-18-2007 10:37 PM

As Professor Maline started to talk Si smile and took out some parchment and his quill. Resting it on his knee he smiled when he caught Professor Maline’s eye and when she asked about the fire he scratched his head

marfamarfa 03-18-2007 10:40 PM

Torie raised her hand from her seat on one of the beanbag chairs close to the fire. In the dark lighting, her pale skin looked even paler and dark shadows could be seen under her eyes. "Maybe because we are going to deal with creatures that live in fire?" she asked with a questioning tone.

Freya 03-18-2007 10:41 PM

Touy raised her hand and said " Professor I think its because snakes are cold blooded animals and they would come to the fire to warm themselfs. This way we could see them better."

MEbeCherry16 03-18-2007 10:41 PM

As the professoer asks the class the question of making a fire in the middle of the class oom she takes a bean bag close to the teacher, a little weary of snakes she puts a brave face on and tries to think of an anser to the question

lemondrop13 03-18-2007 10:42 PM

Kennedy raised her hand and suggested, "Well, some snakes use infrared-sensitive receptors between their nostril and eye which permits them to "see" radiated heat. Each person in this room is giving off such heat, so if there is a dangerous snake inside one of those cages, the fire will serve as a decoy heat source."

CelestialLight 03-18-2007 10:42 PM

Vince saw the professor put a snake on Eliza's hair as it moved on her head. Hearing her talk again, he wondered why she would put a fire place in her classroom. Yes, that seemed to be very weird. He scratched his head, thinking about his answer. He shot his hand in the air, as he looked the professor in the eye, possibly knowing the answer. "Uh... is it because you might teach us how snakes can sense body heat?" he said, wondering if that was correct.

Golden Monkey 03-18-2007 10:43 PM

Ariana thought this was an interesting question to start off the class and smiled as she raised her hand to answer.

"Well professor, it would be stupid because there are students in the class and we could get hurt, unless it's a magical fire in which case no one would. However, if you're doing it to teach us something about serpents then there should be nothing wrong, you know what you are doing. On the other hand, the desks and chairs would catch fire, and that wouldn't be good."

She than realized how dumb her reply was and stopped talking. Taking her quill she waited.

Loki 03-18-2007 10:44 PM

Marie didn't knew the answer so she just wrote down what everybody said hopping this was the right one.

lemondrop13 03-18-2007 10:44 PM

Remembering something else, Kennedy raised her hand again, "Of course. You could be using the fire to draw out an ashwinder, which arises from the embers of unsupervised fires."

MizFit_of_Society 03-18-2007 10:44 PM

Jill raised her hand and then said, "Maybe we're going to deal with creatures that are used to being in hot places?"

miss weasley 03-18-2007 10:45 PM

Eliza looked at the Professor, she had no idea but she might aswell guess. She raised her hand slowly in the air "Maybe, and this is just a guess, the posionous,if there is any here that is,snakes will be attracted to the fire instead of to us because they can sense heat through their forked tongue which is used for searching because their eye sight is quite weak." she guessed, hoping she hadn't just made a giant fool of herself.

Holmesian Feline 03-18-2007 10:45 PM

As Kat noticed Si sit down, she smiled at him and then tried to think of an answer to the professor's question. The ideas thrown out by her classmates seemed to be on the right track.

The Old Toad 03-18-2007 10:47 PM

Gem sat back and listened to their answers, wondering if she should offer her own... but she was quite sure hers wasnt correct. Because I think these bean bags are flamable was her answer but she didnt say it out loud because it sounded a bit to irrevelant to the lesson. So instead, Gem got out her quill and parchment and decided to learn all she could about snakes before class was over. It would be not smart to start a fire in Professor Maline's class room because... she scribbled down.

Rockywizardia 03-18-2007 10:47 PM

Ringo leaned in a shadowy corner, half listening and half gazing at Professor Maline. Not snakes... he thought.

"You are close Torie, yet wrong, good try," Professor Maline smiled at her, and tossed her a bar of chocolate from honey dukes for the effort.

"Good try, but snakes warm themselves from the sun, no need for fire," She explained, throwing her a bar of chocolate too.

"Point to Ravenclaw!" Professor Maline beamed, "You are wrong in the sense of this lesson, but right in the way of science, also, that is an astonishingly good answer!"

"Nope, but good try," She smiled, tossing Vince a bar of chocolate.

"There is a snake, that comes from Magically induced fire, this particular serpent is the Ashwinder. Can anyone tell me where it gets it's name from?" She asked the class, as the fire began to move slightly.

miss weasley 03-18-2007 10:52 PM

Eliza flung her hand in the air "It gets it's name because it slithers out of the ashes of a magical fire if it hasn't been properly put out or if it hasn't even been put out,Professor! As long as the fire it was born from burns,it will live.In that time that they live for,it will lay eggs which, once frozen,is used for potions"she said.
ooc:I didn't even use Lexicon or a book!!! *grins*I'm not even too sure if thats right!!!

Saz Hale 03-18-2007 10:52 PM

Sarah sat taking notes she wasnt too sure of the answer and did not want to risk losing any more points

lemondrop13 03-18-2007 10:52 PM

Kennedy raised her hand and replied "The Ashwinder leaves a trail of ash behind it as it slithers away."

Loki 03-18-2007 10:54 PM

Marie raised her hand & said: ""Ash" comes from the color of the serpent and also as a reference to its connection to fire. "Winder" recalls the sideways movement of some kinds of snakes, such as the rattler. They are sometimes called "sidewinders."""

CelestialLight 03-18-2007 10:54 PM

Vince got in the eye with the chocolate she threw, but he didn't mind. He listened to what she had said and immediately raised his hand, reading in a book that he might have the correct answer. "Ash comes from a serpent's color also a reference to its connection of fire. Winder is the movements of some snakes," he said.

ZDARDSKY 03-18-2007 10:55 PM

Curt sat bolt upright, he knew this one, his family had an ashwinder loose in his house before. He stuck his hand in the air and said, "Ashwinders come out of a magical fire that hasnt been put out. We had to deal with one once." said Curt smiling.

Golden Monkey 03-18-2007 10:55 PM

Ariana raised her hand and replied shaking slightly." 'Ash' is the color of the fire and the color of the serpent. 'Winder' refers to the sidewys movement they do. It is sometimes called a 'sidewinders.' "

Rockywizardia 03-18-2007 10:56 PM

He wrinkled his long nose in disgust. Why did they have to study something like that; it was so gross. He didn't look at the snakes but continued to gaze at the teacher, dazedly.

william.cook1990 03-18-2007 10:56 PM

Sebastian had been rather quiet at the back of the classroom. Finally he rose his hand and said, "The 'ash' in the name of the serpent comes from the color its scales are, as well as the connection to fire. The 'winder' part of the name is part of the movement of the snake as they tend to wind."

Then he thought to himself, What was that nickname I used to call them back home?

hermione1994 03-18-2007 10:56 PM

Herlucy raised her hand," Because when it moves it leaves ash or something?"Herlucy muttered.

marfamarfa 03-18-2007 10:56 PM

Torie gasped in surprise as a rogue chocolate bar landed in her lap, thrown from the strange new Professor. She smiled grateful at the teacher and proceeded to tear open the wrapper. It made a crinkly noise and she tried to stiffle it in the loose folds of her uniform jumper. She broke off a piece and muched it absentmindedly as she listened to the responses of her classmates.

MizFit_of_Society 03-18-2007 10:57 PM

Jill stayed silent and began to copy notes. Slytherin was already behind and didn't want to cost them anymore points.

The Old Toad 03-18-2007 10:58 PM

Gem thought she knew this answer well enough but wasnt sure. She bit her lip and raised her hand. "Well, because its ash coloured, Professor?" she questioned. She also knew a few other facts about this serpent but she didnt say them all. She also though it lived for only one hour and came from fires that burned too long- explaining why you wouldnt want a fire in her classroom but she didnt say those. Professor MAline had just asked where it got its name from.

"Ohhhhh nice try Eliza, but we're not trying to kill the poor snake!" She laughed slipping her some chocolate.

"Perfect answer, two points to Gryffindor Marie," She smiled and tossed her some chocolate.

Eliza grabbed the chocolate and turned a bright shade of crimson, she couldn't help but laugh at her own answer.it did sound stupid but it was the first thing that popped into her head.
ooc:I am litterally pink with embarrassment and laughter!!!
BIC:Eliza gazed at the fire as a gray-coloured snake slithered from the fire towards them, she smiled.Be friendly to animals, they mean you no harm that was what her personal COMC tutor had once told her, that was, before the inncident in Egypt with the Sphinx.

Rockywizardia 03-18-2007 11:05 PM

Without realizing it, he raised his hand.

Saz Hale 03-18-2007 11:06 PM

Sarah thought and raised her hand and said "I think there colours come from the fire or from the area the fire is in"

ZDARDSKY 03-18-2007 11:08 PM

Curt wasn't positive, but he didnt flinch when he saw the ashwinder, they had one before. "Well, ashwinders are ash-grey, which makes me think that they are made of ashes themselves. Their red eyes rememble the fire that they came from, and as long as the fire burns, their eyes burn fiery red as well. Once the fire goes out..." he wracked his mind back to the time his mom was dealing with one.."the snake is reduced into ashes."

CelestialLight 03-18-2007 11:08 PM

Vince looked at his chocolate, wanting to eat it, but he knew he cannot until class ends. He listened to the next question the professor had asked, wondering what the answer was. It was very difficult for him, but he knew he could get the answer if he tries his best. He raised his hand saying, "Maybe they get the color from the ashes in the fire, forming into a serpent by the ashes. They get red eyes by the color of the fire." He wished he didn't use a dumb answer.

Golden Monkey 03-18-2007 11:08 PM

Ariana couldn't answer the question. She was staring at the Ashwinder and shaking like mad. She could't stand snakes or anything that slithered on the ground, but was determined to stick this class out to the end. Taking a deep breath, she wrote down the answers to the questions, happy she had gotten one correct.

Oliver's_Kepper 03-18-2007 11:10 PM

Jack raised her hand and said "Because of the fire itself and the ashes that leaves behind" said Jack

lemondrop13 03-18-2007 11:10 PM

Kennedy answered, "well I am not quite sure where they come from, but I am certain of what they remind me of - the ash-gray obviously from the ashes of the fire and the red reminds me of the red color of the embers before they go out. Which makes sense considering embers are the remains of a dying fire, just as the ashwinder too is the remains of the dying fire."

Amie raises her hand "they are gray because of the ashes that it leaves behind and the red colored eyes represent the fire"

Amie sat back to see if she was close...

The Old Toad 03-18-2007 11:11 PM

She beamed as she was thrown chocolate and wondered where to hide it from her pet toad. Gem raised her hand slowly. "Maybe..." she mused. "It has something to do with the extremly hot body heat they give off..." she was lost in thought as she said her answer. "I mean, they're so hot they can catch buildings on fire!" Gem wondered about her asnwer.

hermione1994 03-18-2007 11:11 PM

Herlucy looked at the ashwinder and thought that in a weird way, it was kind of cute. She then began to write down answers.

whende 03-18-2007 11:12 PM

Whende stared down at the snake with a slight smile. Despite her fascination with the snake, she raised her hand and thought up an answer. "I think it's a pretty cool color, especially with the red eyes. It's coloring probably comes from the fact that it's born from fire though," she said. After hesitating a moment, she added. "Do you think I could hold it?"

potter_urges 03-18-2007 11:12 PM

Ermagardle sat silently with her brow furrowed. She felt bad for not knowing the answer. Her dark eyes lit up as she saw an Ashwinder emerging from the flames.

marfamarfa 03-18-2007 11:13 PM

Torie raised her hand after she had finished her mouthful of chocolate. "I think it is for camoflague." she said. "By having their bodies a grey colour, like ash, they can hide in the fire, and so that they don't look just like a long round strip of ash, they have the red eyes so they can peer through the flames and not be seen."

CedricsGryffindorGirl 03-18-2007 11:13 PM

Amie noticed something slithering by. She looked close to the fire and noticed the Ashwinder slithering from the fire. Amie was amazed, she has never see anything like this before.

starlightangel 03-18-2007 11:17 PM

"You all have simply brilliant ideas, there is no real answer to this question, i was just curious for your views," She beamed, handing out chocolate to everyone who answered.

"Absolutely!" Professor Maline exclaimed, and deftly picked up the Ashwinder, she placed it in Whende's arms, and beamed at her, "Be gentle, it's a baby one in retrospect, it's only just come from the fire, feel free to keep it or name it," She smiled.

Turning back to the class she beamed again, "I gave two points to Gem here, because in actual fact, that is exactly what Ashwinders do! Now there is something special about the eggs, what?" She asked, before getting ready to reveal the next snake.

CelestialLight 03-18-2007 11:19 PM

Vince sighed, ready to answer the next question because he wanted to earn many points for his house and also learn many new things if he was correct or incorrect. He smiled, scratching his head, knowing the professor sure gave a tricky question. With his answer, he shot his hand in the air, giving her a determined face. "The eggs are very hot, can also be used for potions making," he said.

"The eggs, if they are frozen before they ignite your house, can be used in Love Potions or be eaten whole as a cure for ague." Kennedy replied.

shortfry 03-18-2007 11:19 PM

Kerry raised her hand "The eggs are quite valuable actually, they can be used as ingredients in love potions or may be eaten whole as a cure for ague"

Curt thought for a second and said, "Ashwinder eggs are dangerous, because when they hatch they ignite in flames and can catch buildings on fire. But if frozen, they are effective in certain potions, I think." said Curt. His answers had been pretty lame so far.

Oliver's_Kepper 03-18-2007 11:20 PM

"Ashwinder eggs give off great amounts of heat and often cause wizards' houses to catch fire. If an egg is frozen with the appropriate charm, they may be used in love potions or as a cure for ague" said Jack proudly

UnicornDragonPatronus 03-18-2007 11:21 PM

Athena raised her hand. "The eggs give off an intense amount of heat that can burn down an entire building. They can be frozen, if the proper charm is used, and then they can be used for potions such as Love Potions," she answered.

Golden Monkey 03-18-2007 11:21 PM

Ariana riased her hand "Their eggs are used in potions, but they are extremly dangerous. If they're not found soon, they could set fire to buildings, trees and anything really. They have to be frozen in order to cool them down." She tried not to look at the Ashwinder in Whende's hands, but couldn't help herself. They weren't that bad she thought.

Saz Hale 03-18-2007 11:21 PM

Sarah took the chocolate and took down notes cause she was not sure of this answer

Kaos.Doodles 03-18-2007 11:22 PM

Alexis raised her hand "They are used in a variety od potions." She said with a guess.

hermione1994 03-18-2007 11:22 PM

Herlucy thoght for a moment before raising her hand,"They glow a red colour", she guessed.

whende 03-18-2007 11:22 PM

Whende carefully took it and let out a soft squeak. "No. Way," she whispered under her breath. "Can I really keep him?" she asked, rubbing her nose against the snake's and gently running a finger down its back. "Ouch," she muttered, trying to get her nose to cool down. "And is there... er... anyway to make him not so hot?"

The Old Toad 03-18-2007 11:22 PM

Gem's hand shot up. "If the eggs are frozen with the right charm I think they can be used to cure ague," Gem said clearly, wondering if that was right. She then added, "And can be used in love potions to..." Gem Jewels was no expert on potions, and definatley not love potions, but she had done her reading and hoped that her answer was atleast remotely correct. She smiled as she got her House awarded two points. This is SO much better than Carver Elementary she thought again.

"The eggs are very hot, can also be used for potions making," he said.

Professor Maline beamed happily once more, "Point to all of you that answered, they were all right!" She laughed, then put out the fire, before lighting the torches round the side of the room.

She took the sheet covering the cage of the next animal and grinned around at the class. "This," She announced," Is a Runespoor, what is so unusual about it?"

potter_urges 03-18-2007 11:26 PM

Ermagardle smiled at the Ashwinder in Whende`s arms. She thought it was quite cute. Turning back to her parchment, she quickly wrote down all of the answers that were being suggested.

pgspickles 03-18-2007 11:27 PM

Pauline took notes and waited for the next question to answer now that she was caught up and new what was going on.

CelestialLight 03-18-2007 11:28 PM

Vince felt so comfortable in his large bean bag, wondering why other classes did not allow it. This class was one he would like, feeling like he was about to sleep. Hearing another question, he sat straight, looking at the professor. He knew this one! It was just because he was very curious of his answers. "They are very long and are three headed..." he said.

Saz Hale 03-18-2007 11:28 PM

Sarah thought and put her hand up and said "The unusual thing about a runespoor is that it is a serpant but does not act like a serpant"

"It has three independently thinking heads, ma'am." Kennedy answered.

Pauline raised her hand "It produces its eggs from its mouth" she said

Golden Monkey 03-18-2007 11:29 PM

Ariana raised her hand again, unsure of the answer, "Um, they have three heads?" She looked at the Runespoor, gulping lightly. It looked dangerous. She was glad she was sitting at the back of the class.

ZDARDSKY 03-18-2007 11:29 PM

Curts hand shot in the air, he knew this too to his own disbelief. "Runespoors are very bizzare because they have three heads." He looked over at his cousin Gem, she really was amazing at this subject, Curt smiled.

hermione1994 03-18-2007 11:30 PM

Herlucy raised her hand,"A runespoor has 3 heads"

lemondrop13 03-18-2007 11:30 PM

"Also, ma'am, Runespoors are the only magical beasts known to produce eggs through its mouth." Kenned added.

Oliver's_Kepper 03-18-2007 11:30 PM

Jack raised her hand and said"they have 3 heads?" said Jack very shyly

ers04d 03-18-2007 11:31 PM

A runespoor is a three headed snake the can be up to seven feet long. It is a bright orange color with black banding. It is native to Burkina Faso, and there are several forests that are designated as preserves for the snake. It is unique because it produces eggs through its mouth. Cora said.

Loki 03-18-2007 11:32 PM

Marie raised her hand & said: " Runespoor is a magical three-headed, snake commonly reaching a length of 6 - 7 feet, coloured livid orange with black banding. Each head contains an independent brain serving a different purpose, and they tend to attack each other. The right head is the planner, the middle head is the dreamer, and the left head is the critic."

shortfry 03-18-2007 11:32 PM

Kerry raised her hand again "a runespoor is a three headed snake 6-7 feet in length with a viivid orange and black coloring. It is native to Burkina Faso, where there are several forests designated as preserves solely for the runespoor. It is a unique animal because it has it's eggs in it's mouths.

They each have their own brain in their heads serving a different purpose, and they tend to attack each other. The right head is the planner, the middle head is the dreamer, and the left head is the critic. The planner decides where the runespoor goes and what it will do next, although the dreamer's visions often lead to a runespoor remaining stationary for days, lost in its imaginings. The critic, the fangs of which are extremely venomous, hisses continually as it watches the efforts of the planner and the dreamer. Many times, the other two heads will gang up on the critic and bite it off; two-headed runespoors are not uncommon to see."

whende 03-18-2007 11:34 PM

Well... of course it had three heads. But she couldn't come up with anything that wasn't obvious just from looking at it, so she kept her mouth shut and silently took notes while trying to come up with a good name for the ashwinder, which she was very likely to end up keeping anyway... just as long as it didn't burn anything down. Besides, everyone else had a pretty good handle on answering the question.

The Old Toad 03-18-2007 11:35 PM

"It has three heads!" exclaimed Gem, eyes wide. "It reaches up to six to seven feet and it produces its eggs through its mouth!" She remembered everything she read over the summer, either that or she had a dream about reading. It must have been a very realistic dream then... "Each head contains an individual brain and they tend to attack eachother," she giggled a bit as she said this, the idea was quite comical but a bit frightening. She pointed at each head as she gave answers. "The right head is the planner, the left head i think is the critic," she paused, thinking just like my dad. "And the middle head is the dreamer. "The planner decides where the snake goes and what it will do, the middle head tends to cause the snake to sit there for days, just imagining things and the left head has really venomous fangs and hisses alot at the two other heads, evaluating their efforts and such. It used to be thee favorite pet of a Dark Wizard," she said the last bit in a whisper.

starlightangel 03-18-2007 11:35 PM

Turning to Whende she nodded, "Of course you can keep it, and as strange as this may sound, keep it near very cold water."

"That is yet another unique point, have a point for that," Professor Maline grinned.

"What is so special about the heads exactly though?" She asked, keeping the Runespoor in the cage.

lemondrop13 03-18-2007 11:35 PM

"Ma'am? I noticed that a great deal of students are staying that the left head is the critic, but I read in Fantastic Beasts and Where to FInd Them that the right head was the critic and the left the planner.Which is right? Or is that from the viewpoint of the wizard?" Kennedy asked.

UnicornDragonPatronus 03-18-2007 11:37 PM

Athena wrote everything down, knowing she had been beaten for this answer. She took down notes, while watching the creature the Professor was holding. It was quite interesting, and she hoped that she could get a closer look.

Hearing the next question, she raised her hand. "The heads each serve a different function." she said. "One is the planner, one the dreamer, and the other is the critic," she said with a smile.

ers04d 03-18-2007 11:37 PM

The right head is the planner, the middle head is the dreamer, and the left head is the critic. The planner decides where the runespoor goes and what it will do next, although the dreamer's visions often lead to a runespoor remaining stationary for days, lost in its imaginings. The critic, the fangs of which are extremely venomous, hisses continually (and irritably), evaluating the efforts of the planner and the dreamer. Often, the other two heads will gang up on the critic and bite it off; two-headed runespoors are not uncommon. Cora said as her hand shot into the air.

CelestialLight 03-18-2007 11:38 PM

Vince looked at the professor, knowing many creatures were very weird in this subject. It kind of freaked him out, but it was the only way for learning this kind of subject. He glanced at each student, giving each a smile. He raised his hand, as he scratched his head. "Uh... they each have different minds. Each of them has an own use, the right head the planner, the left head the critic, and the middle is the dreamer," he said.

The Old Toad 03-18-2007 11:39 PM

"Um..." Gem has said the answer already and blushed. She had been too eager. "Well, Each head contains an individual brain and they tend to attack eachother," she giggled a bit as she said this, the idea was quite comical but a bit frightening. She pointed at each head as she gave answers. "The right head is the planner, the left head i think is the critic And the middle head is the dreamer. "The planner decides where the snake goes and what it will do, the middle head tends to cause the snake to sit there for days, just imagining things and the left head has really venomous fangs and hisses alot at the two other heads, evaluating their efforts and such." she repeated her answer, hoping this information was enough.

Golden Monkey 03-18-2007 11:39 PM

"The right head is the planner, the middle head is the dreamer and the left head is the critic ma'am. The planner decides what the Runespoor does, the dreamer normally makes the Runespoor stationary for days. The critic has extremly venomus fangs and evaluates ther planner and dreamer heads." Ariana replied, quietly.
