| | | Divination 1 - Bibliomancy Professor Blaylock stood in a sunny corner of the North Tower, she had opened all the windows to let in the wonderful sunshine and fresh air in. The entrance to the tower was open, and any moment now, she expected to see the students' heads appearing as the climbed up the step-ladder. Several round tables were scattered around the room, with colourful pouffes and beanbags for the students to sit comfortably on. On each table sat a random pile of books, just waiting and ready for the students to go through them later. OOC: Just post yourself coming into the class and taking a seat. I'll start when there are enough students in attendance. |

While the concept of seeing the future is the same in both practices...Divination is more complex, it is more formal and yes, it is not something that just anybody can do." Professor Blaylock laughed at that, "I bet you're all wondering why we teach it if you cant all do it. Well, there are some basic forms of Divination that everyone can do, but then again, just a minority are able to truly See." She watched the students as the absorbed this, "There are four categories of Divination...can anyone tell me what they are?" |

Brookelyn looked around at all the hands that were raised and decided to say her answer anyways. She raised her hand and said, " It's like the art of telling the future and it's events. There's like seven different forms of divination that are included."

| ♥ Mrs. Itachi Uchiha™ & MAJNOO! : Bleach & Kyo & Natsume ♥ [ Maxh!Jesh ] Tia beamed with pleasure when the Professor said that she had earned Gryffindor several points. After all, the more, the merrier. Of course, that only applied to when you were earning points – not losing them.
She raised her hand again at Professor Blaylock’s next question. “Omens and omen texts, Sortilege, Augury, and Spontaneous, Professor,” she said, all in a rush, even though other students had answered the question already, Serena being the first one. She smiled at her friend, lowering her hand. |

Serena smiled. She knew the answer to this, due to the fact that she had read along in her textbook. Raising her hand again, she said outloud. "The four categories are Omens and omen texts, Sortilege, Augury and Spontaneous Divination."

Tas raised her hand again. "Omens and omen texts. Sortilege, also called cleromancy. This consists of the casting of lots whether with sticks, stones, bones, beans, or some other item. Augury. Divination that ranks a set of given possibilities. And Spontaneous which is the gift of a true Seer."

Now, who can tell me what type of methods fall under the category of Omens and omen texts? I'm not asking for the methods, merely what kind..." She said, hoping the question was clear enough. OOC: What I mean is, not answers like "bibliomancy" or "palm-reading". |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Aiden Everett Sixth Year | Erin Jr. | | Dude! Nowai!! Erin smiled, happy to have earned a few points for Gryffindor.
As Professor Blaylock asked another question, Erin looked around at her classmates. She didn't know the answer, but she was happy that Serena, a fellow Gryffindor, had answered first.
Erin pulled out her notebook and took a few notes on the forms of divination. |

“The most primitive, clumsy, but enduring method is the simple recording of sequences of unusual or important events," she began. "There happen to be some scrupulously documented occurrences of strange births, the tracking of natural phenomena, and other data..”

Natalie stared at Eliza in awe. She was amazed at how much Eliza knew about Divination. She had never took much interest in it but decided she'd give it her best shot.
