The Purple Sleeping Bag Thread

Rae hurried into the Great Hall and eyed the milling students. She hopped up on the dias and held up her hands. "Alright, students... if I could have your attention, please. I'm sure you're aware that something has occured in the Common Rooms. We're currently investigating the disruption and trying to figure out exactly what happened and what we need to do to get you back in there. For now, we'll ask that you sleep here in the Great Hall. Prefects and professors are on duty to make sure that you're safe and following the rules. Any professors who wish to assist in investigating may join me at the staff table."

She clapped her hands and a pile of plush purple sleeping bags appeared.

"Huh? Oh right... sit down..." Elijah fumbled through his words. He wasn't really sure exactly... what to do? No, that didn't seem right; Of course he knew what to do. He as just going to sit down with Kay amongst some sleeping bags and the rest of the school. It's not like they weren't doing anything... wrong...

Elijah smiled nervously, ran his hand through his hair and kneeled down on the sleeping bag next to the one Kay occupied. He looked at her for a moment then cleared his throat as he looked around the Great Hall.

"So..." he said, "This is nice."

Way to sound like a dork he thought to himself

Crystal sat down next a girl from her house who looked a little shaken by what was going on. " Hey. I'm Crystal. You're....Aurora, right? I've seen you around in classes and the common room...." she leaned forward " What do you think happened in the common room? I've heard some rumors that is was our resident poltergeist, but I think it's codswallop."

"It's definitely not the common room," Kay replied brightly and giggled softly. It's just one big sleep over with the professors and prefects prowling about, she thought as she removed her shoes and sat them by her bookbag.

"Definately not," Elijah echoed, agreeing with Kay. He rubbed the back of his neck and then decided to sit more comfortable, rather than on his kness which were begining to ache terribly.

"Well..." he said in an attempt to break the silence between the couple, "Rae really has everything we need set up here, you have to admit. There are extra blankets, and these pillows are really comfortable," he continued as he fluffed up his own.

"Who?" Aurora had never heard that word before. Sometimes it was really anoying being a muggle in a wizarding world. "Nice to meet you by the way." she didn't want to seem rude...her fathers good manner lessons.

Whende folded her sleeping back so it wouldn't be so flat. Then she laid down on it and stared at the rainy ceiling, humming softly to herself.

Davina tapped Whende's shoulder."How are you feeling?"she asked.

Pt raced into the Great hall her hair flying behind her, she slid to a stop as she surveyed the students there and the sleeping bags all over the floor. She frantically looked around for anyone she knew. What had happened?? She thought to herself as she contunied to look for familiar faces

"I'm feeling fine," Whende said, not quite sure why anyone would think other wise. She sat up to look at Davina. "What's up?"

[Crystal Ball]

" Our poltergeist, Samea." She said, " She just likes to cause trouble....oh, you thought I meant codswallop was a name. " She smiled. " It just means that I think it's untrue that Samea did this." Crystal fluffed up her pillow so she could lay down on her side. " So, Aurora....what do you like to do?" This was Crystal's lame attempt at conversation so they didn't have to sit there in silence.

g_g had just awoken from her sort of trance. there were still a few tears flowing from her eyes. she wiped them away. "Hey Whende...what's up?" she asked clearing her throat.

"Not much really.Im just trying to sleep,and trust me it is not working."She shift uncomfortably."I wish I was back up in my poster now"

Whende waved at g_g with a smile. "Nothing really." She turned back to Davina, "Really?" she said with a shrugg. "I guess I've always been more of the ourdoors type. Climbing trees, sleeping in tents..."

Aurora was really glad this girl had started a conversation. She wasn't real good at smalltalk. "I like reading, drawing, sports and hanging out with my friends, stuff like that. You?"

"You might want to take off your shoes, Elijah," suggested Kay as she watched him fluff up his pillow. "And you might want to take it easy on that pillow before it decides to fight back."

She reached across with her bare foot and playfully nudged him on the knee.

"Well..Im into the arts..." g_g said.

Elijah grinned as Kay nudged him. "It'd probably be more comfortable with my shoes off, wouldn't it?" he said as he reached over to untie his trainers and set them beside his sleeping bag.

He sat comfortably and once more surveyed the area of the rest of the school. Everyone seemed to be doing just fine. No one had shouted out anything horrible, no fights were breaking out... and they were all safe. Or at least he hoped they were.

His eyes found Kay once more and he smiled at her. "So..." he said, "...Now what?"

"Its not like I dont like being outside,its just that this bloody riddle is getting to me and I've gotten used to my bed,so I would be more comfortable"

"Arts?" Whende asked, looking up at g_g. "Like what kind of art? I like music," she said, blowing some hair out of her face.

Then she turned her attetion back to Davina. "I prefer the ground to beds anyway, so... yeah. I'm a little weird that way."

James walked into the Great Hall and grabed one of the plush sleeping bags. As a first year he couldn't believe what was going on. He thought things like that (the common rooms incident) couldn't happen at Hogwarts. He went to a corner, quietly, trying not to wake anybody.

Aurora got very tired. "Hey, Chrystal, maybe we can talk a little more later. I'm gonna take a nap."

" Okay...I suppose we should go to sleep. No telling what we'll be doing tomorrow. Sleep well." with that , Crystal lay on her back and stared at the ceiling, which was full of stars. After a time, she pulled out a book she had managed to bring with her. " Lumos" she whispered, and began reading by the wand light while the students around her snored.

"So so sorry, sorry to bother you what are you reading?" James asked the ravenclaw girl. He thought this book had to be really interesting if a student would like to read this late.
