Professor Rae opened her classroom a bit earlier than she intended, just to be sure it was clean and ready for her students. It was immaculate, and she fell back into her chair with a happy sigh. With a flick of her wand, the windows opened to let the brisk fall air pour into the room. It was slightly overcast outside, but the fresh air felt just lovely.

Crystal looked around, hoping to find someone without a partner. " Hey, if you guys don't mind, maybe we could switch out every other turn? " She asked the group, then added,
" There doesn't seem to be anyone else who's unpartnered." She waited for them to respond.

Serena watched as Victoria frowned. "Hey, it's no problem. You'll get it on your next try." she said in an attempt to comfort the girl. She reminded Serena of herself, always wanting to do things perfect on the first try. Serena took a few deep breaths, made certain that she was in the proper stance, and then waved her wand while intoning. "Expelliarmus!"

"Okay, I'll go first then," Whende said. She checked her stanced and raised her wand. Pulling it in the proper fashion, she said, "Expelliarmius."

Victoria smiled at the fact that Serena was trying to confort her. "Yeah, watch out for my next time, I'm gonna catch it." She smiled, as she let herself giggle away the fustration. A grin appeared on her face as her thoughts were confirmed. The wand slipped through her hands and landed a few feet from where Serena was standing. Victoria walked over and picked up her wand, "nicely done."

She turned to face Serena again, ready to have her second go. She naturally went into her stance and checked her wand movement slowly once. "Okay, heres for second tries." Victoria lifted her wand and arched it down across her body and did a swift flick in the end aiming carefully. "Expelliarmus!" She watched, hoping for a better result.

Whende's aim was good, and Erin felt her wand fly from her hand. "Cool!" she said as she watched the wand fly through the air and land a few feet away.

"Wicked!" Whende exclaimed. She hadn't expected to get anything to happen on her first try. "I think I'm going to like this class. Now you try."

"Ok." Erin said. She picked up her wand and got into the stance that they had practiced. She waved her wand with a too stiff flick at the end that wasn't quite aimed and said "Expelliarmus!" Her spell just missed Whende and hit some books on the shelf on the wall behind her, sending them flying the same way her wand had earlier. Erin laughed, relaxing. "Well, now I know the spell works, I just have to learn how to aim."

Whende smiled, "Here, this might help," she said. She moved her wand into a clear shot, away from her side so that it might be easier to hit.

More relaxed this time, Erin started the wand movement again. Without thinking, she fell into the natural movement that they had been practicing earlier and aimed at Whende's wand with a firm "Expelliarmus!" Her aim was true this time and her spell hit Whende's wand.

The spell sent Whende's wand flying. The position she held it in though probably wasn't the smartest. When it flew from her hand, it ened up hitting her in the face, shattering a lense in her glasses.

With a groan she felt around her eye to feel little pieces of glass just under her eye. A small amount of blood began to trickle down her cheek.

"Oh no!" Erin said seeing Whende's wand shatter her glasses. "Are you ok?" She then saw the small amount of blood under Whende's eye. "Do you think you need to go to the nurse?"

"Yeah, I'm fine," Whende replied, wiping some of the blood off with her hand. She pulled off the glasses and examined the damage, grimacing as her eye began to sting. "I suppose that if I could just get the glass out I could just go later if it kept bleeding." Then muttered, "Or just use that spell Alex taught me..."

"I may have a muggle first aid kit in my bag." Erin said, digging through her bag. "My mom is a muggle born witch, and she still swears by muggle medicine. Ah!" said Erin pulling out the kit. "And it has tweezers and some antiseptic whipes. There may be a spell that could work better though." Erin shrugged.

"I think I know one that could close the wound," Whende said, "But it couldn't get the glass out. At least I don't think it could. I'd rather not risk it. We'll use the tweezers to get it out, then I'll close it and we can keep practicing."
