The Outdoor Classroom Temporarily set up outside the Magical Creature Hospital is the outdoor classroom. In the area between one of the Winged Horse and Unicorn pens are scattered several long wooden tables. Placed periodically along them are pairs of dragon hide gloves, safety goggles, and other odds and ends. There is a single smaller desk where Professor Dainsie stands smiling, her phoenix sitting proudly and singing a beautiful song that seems to entice visitors. Welcome, welcome! Today’s lesson will be conducted completely outside, so put on your hats :cowboy: and come and join me in the sunshine! |
c00kie followed the professor, she was very excited because she enjoyed the outdoors and loved the sunshine. " Morning professor!" she greeted the professor cheerfully, she had put on a cap and was waiting patiently for the other students to arrive. |
Geraldine puts on a old fashion scarlet hat with ribbons and walked towards the Professor. "Good day,Professor,"she said and took a seat near the phoenix. She looked left and right to see the unicorns.She had second thought about her seat and shifted a little nearer to the unicorns. |
Harmony went over and followed the other students and the Professor. "G'day, Professor!" she said gleefully as she took a seat near one of the Winged Horses. As far as magical creatures were concerned, Winged Horses and Unicorns were the second best to Dragons... |
Cynthia puts on a badana and walks towards the front. "Hello Professor!" Cynthia greets and went to stand beside Cookie. Cynthia prefered the indoors but a lil sunshine once in a while is nice. |
Romy put on her basecap - a gift from her older brother last year - and walked to the tables. She said politely "G'day Prof. Dainsie" looked at the wunderful phoenix and sat down. |
Professor Dainsie flicked her wand at her hat, changing it to a white stetson. Well hello everyone, I'm glad you could all make it. Make yourselves comfy while we wait for the rest of the students to arrive. |
'Hello Professor!' Biwiggy said, jamming a hat onto her head - she spotted Cynthia standing next to another Slytherin girl, so she walked over waving at both. 'Hi!' She greeted them happily. |
Jamie meandered in and found his way to one of the tables. He sat down curiously, waiting on his friends to get to class. Care of Magical Creatures. Hm... he didn't have the best luck with animals. He hoped and prayed he'd not have to touch one. They had the tendancy to bite him. |
Valera walked in and greeted Professor Dainsie quietly and took a seat beside Harmony. |
Natalie walked in and took a seat at one of the wooden tables waiting for class to begin. |
Amlee walked in, excited about todays lesson. "Hello Professor." she greeted as she walked past. Amlee looked around and spotted Geraldine at the table closest to the unicorns. She ran quickly to the table and sat beside her. |
Emma had been walking in the grounds when she saw the classroom. Curious, she went in and saw the winged horse. |
Ashley walked in and took a seat closest to the front then waited to see if her freind was coming and for class to began. |
Bella walked outside. Her pale skin recoiled at the bright sunshine, but she could not miss class. Whipping out of her knapsack an old fashioned, wide-brimmed hat, she sat in the sunshine. |
Linnea entered and smiled at Dansie. She was happy that between the last class and this one, she hadn't had to drag any students down to see her. She took a seat and anxiously awaited the start of class. |
pauline took a seat and waited for class to start this was her favorite class "hey proffesor Dainsie." she said politly |
Kay was enjoying being in the outdoors and took a seat beside Linnea. |
Nabiya entered, waving cheerfully at the professor and went to sit beside Linnea and another girl. She was smiling as it was bound to be a fun lesson, being out of the dreary castle. |
Fancy made her way to the outdoor classroom, wondering what Professor Dainsie had in store for them. She had enjoyed the last lesson very much, even if it was all lecture. She was eager to actually get to work outside, hopefully with actual creatures. Although, by the looks of the table, there was a lot of protective gear and Fancy was hoping that it wouldn't be too dangerous. She wasn't up for spending the day in the Hospital Wing. Fancy stood in an empty spot behind the table of protective gear and waited patiently for Professor Dainsie to begin the lesson. |
Hello everyone! Today’s lesson will be taking place in a few different locations around the grounds, so when I ask you to move you'll need to keep up. You will notice the tables have dragon hide gloves on them. I would like you all to put on a pair please. If there aren't enough there are more in a box next to my little table here. Any questions before we begin? |

Ashley picked the pair that was closest to her and put them on,then waited on what to do next. |
Fancy picked up a pair of dragon hide gloves off of the table in front of her. She slipped them on her small hands. They were a little big, but she was guessing that the gloves the school provided were a "one size fits all." Fancy looked up at the professor and awaited the next instructions. |
Tonks walked up and grabbedd a pair of Dragonhide gloves and found Ashley. While putting on the gloves had a seat next to her. "Hey there." |
Tina walked to the 'classroom' as they call it and put on the gloves. She was very excited, for she loved creatures and animals, and magic made them all the more interesting. |
Jamie saw that a pair of dragon hide gloves were near her and she went to go and get them. As she was walking she stumbled a bit and continued to go and get her gloves, when she finally got them she stood where she was, waiting for the next instructions. |
Mithos approached the table were the gloves were sitting and he took a pair, and put them on. He wondered what Professor Dainsie had prepared for class. |
Taylor approached the table with the gloves. He grabbed a pair and put them on. |
Nabiya put on a pair of gloves, then waited for Dainsie to give the next instructions. |
Linnea put on her small pair of dragon hide gloves and waited for Dainsie to say where and what they would do next. |
Valera grabbed a pair of gloves and put them on. And then she sat quietly and waited for Professor Dainsie's intructions. |
Davina put on her gloves and waited for the instructions |
chewie put on her green and silver gloves which matched her house colour and waited for Dainsie to give further instructions. |
Kalaya put on her gloves, wondering what they would be doing and why they needed them. She waited for Professor Dainsie to explain further or give some more instructions. |
Tina waited for the next instructions carefully. |
Taylor waited for the next instruction. |
Kay slipped on her gloves and awaited further instructions. |
Rose put on her dragon hide gloves and waited with the rest of the class. |
Romy walked to the desk and put on her gloves. |
Heshasa hurried forward and slipped on a pair of dragon hide golves. She was so excited, she loved the outdoors. |
Yashu takes a pair of dragon hide gloves and waits for Professor Dainsie's next instruction. |
Emma slipped her hands into a pair of the sturdy gloves and waited for further instructions. |
Natalie put on her dragon hide gloves and waited for the next instrustions. |
Professor Dainsie walked towards the tables with several plastic containers in her hand, each bore the mark of the sweetshop in Hogsmeade. Placing them along the tables at intervals, she then moved back to her own little table. There aren't enough for everyone so you'll have to gather round and share. Don't get excited, there's no sweets in there... She saw one student snap their hand back from the container, and innocent look appearing on their face. She smirked slightly. Ok, take the lids gently off the containers. There was a flurry of activity as the students did as instructed. Inside were... what were they!? They were tiny, extremely thin objects that had obviously been dried they looked so brittle. If anything, they were almost needle like in appearance. Now, who can tell me what we have here? |
Linnea looked into the container and frowned. She knew that how they looked was familar, but couldn't remember the name. |
*Ashley looked at it awhile thinking I wonder what it is.* |
Jamie raised her hand and said, "A Porcupine." she only saw those on the television, but never in real life but knew what the looked like. |
Taylor raised his hand..."a pixie?" |
Fancy looked inside the crates and saw a sickly looking creature. She tried to think about all the creatures she'd read about, but couldn't think of any one that fit the description of the creature in front of her. She waited for the professor to tell the class what they were going to be working with. |
Hint: Note the Honeydukes boxes... |
"A bowtruckle, perhaps?" Emma said. |
*Thinking hard but coming up blank* |
Emma guessed again. "Billywig sting? They are used in Fizzing Whizzbees." |
Valera put up her hand. "Cockroach Clusters?" |

"Because Honeydukes sells them?" Taylor said while raising his hand |
"Err.. because they sting? They can do something to your skin?" |
"To keep them preserved for later use?" |

"Being stung by these too many times will make you hover above the ground for days. If you are allergic, the floating is permanent. Honeydukes also sells Fizzing Whizzbees, which contain these stings." Emma said with her hand in the air once more. "The boxes are also there for importing from Australia." |
"Do they come from Australia?"Ashley asked. |
"It's from Australia," Valera said as she put up her hand. |
"Australia," Taylor said firmly. |
"Possibly from Australia?" Jessica answered, raising her hand. |

*Raising hand but answering at the same time* "Australia." |
"The ministry rating for the billy wigg is XXX." Natalie said while holding up her hand. |
"xxx? " |
"XXX" Said Emma. "That means that only a compentant wizard or witch should deal with them." |
"It's xxx because they're too fast to notice until you're already stung by them." |
Tina made a mental note to remember all this so that she could write it down later. |

Professor Dainsie arrived back at the tables, now free of her bee-keeper suit. Walking to her table and giving her phoenix a quick pet, she awaited the rest of the students arrival back from the avery. |
Taylor finally got back to the table. He was slightly sweaty from being in the bee-suite |
Valera entered the outdoor classrooom and sat down. |
Linnea returned to her seat in the Outdoor classroom and tried to act as though nothing had happened. As if it was every day one gets stung by billywiggs and levitates in class.......yeah.........and Smurfett wasn't the only female smurf. |
Ashley took a seat in the front. |
*Tonks walked inside and took a seat next to Ashley in the front, her head just peeking over the top of the table, takes out a couple of books from potions class to put in her chair and sits on top to see better.* |
Ozzy sat down at the table. He untied his hair, and let it fall freely about his face, shoulders and back since he was now out of that reched suit. He looked around and waited for the next instruction or question from the Profeesor. |
Taylor found a seat beside another first year in Ravenclaw. He sat down and winked at her, waiting for class to begin |
Heshasa returned to the outdoor classroom and sat down int he middle staring into space. |
*Tonks noticed the wink from Taylor to her friend and smiled with a glint of happy in her eye* "Say Hi Ash." *Nudges Ash.* |
"Hi"She sayed bashfully. |
Taylor felt himself turn red. He decided not to say anything else because they might get detention for talking. Instead, he turned to the front of class and waited for further instruction. |
Ashley turned toward the front and waited for class to start. |
Jessica walked back inside, free of the beekeepr suit, and - for some bizarre reason - grining broadly. She found a seat at the front, and sat down comfortably. |
*Tonks just giggled to herself quietly, and waited for the professor.* |
It had been an intersting class so far, to say the least. Fancy was thankful at the moment that she was shy and usually shyed away from being the center of attention. Thankful to be out of the bee-keeper suit, Fancy sat down at an empty desk in the Outdoor Classroom and began straightening her hair and making sure that she looked presentable. She had always been taught to look her best, even in the outdoors. She waited patiently for Professor Dainsie to give them instructions, and wondered what more they could possibly do that day. |
Heshasa saw Jessica sit down near by and leaned over. "Whatcha so happy about?" |
Jessica didn't know herself. She guessed it had something to do with the voices she'd been hearing lately.... "I don't know," she admitted in a whisper, waiting for the Professor. |
Taylor sat at his desk...where is the professor he thought. Taylor got out his wand and started to twirl it in his hands thinking of a spell that he could use to ammuse himself. |
Heshasa shrugged and turned to face the front looking arounf for Professor Dainsie. |
*Ashley started to wonder where the professor was.* |
Meghan looked around to see if the professor was any where in sight...she wasn't. She sighed deeply, waiting. |
Taylor got out his quill. He pointed his wand at it and muttered "Engorgio." His quill grew about a foot. Then he said "Reducio," and it went back to its normal size. |
Meghan looked at a kid who make his quill grow about a foot. She gave him a weird look, giggled and shook her head slowly. |
