"Good afternoon, Ashley and..." he left the greeting open for the next girl to present her name. He really wasn't sure how he was supposed to remember all of the children's names. Perhaps he could use a sticky charm to attach name tags... |
"Oh I'm so rude, please excuse me professor, my name is Tonksamelia but you can call me Tonks if you like." stutters back and forth from leg to leg trying to seem comfortable. "I know I'll enjoy your class, I've already started reading some of the material and it's fascinating." |
"Tonks," Professor Branxton repeated as he tried to commit it to memory. "I'm encouraged by your enthusiasm and I hope you will do well." |
Laken shuffled forward, (or rather was shoved by either Derrick or Alex) Hello Professor. Uhm, I'm really very excited for your class this afternoon. |
Laurasia quickly approached the office of her Head of House. It was fairly obvious that she was very upset. Realizing that the professor was taking with some other students she decided to simply knock & wait to be admitted by the professor himself. She hardly felt that the matter she was going to bring up to him should be heard by just any ears after all. |
Professer johnny said um wat time is your next class |
Nabiya strode towards the professor's office after class. Her eyebrows were knit in a frown and her expression looked thunderous. Some of the younger Hufflepuff students had been extremely rude to the Professor, and she was very ashamed of their behaviour. Before knocking on the door, Nabiya took a deep breath, closed her eyes and counted to ten. Evening out her expression, she finally knocked, and pushed the door open tentatively. Walking up to the desk where the Professor sat, she stated what she had come to say, "Professor Branxton, I am Nabiya MacPherson, Hufflepuff prefect, and I just came to apologize for the behaviour of some of the younger Hufflepuffs in your class earlier. I hope they did not give you a bad impression of our house, as not all of us are so...ill-bred." She said clearly, her face schrouded in shame. ooc: Laurasia Malfoy, the professor said to just come in and state your business. Read her past posts |
Jessica walked up the corridor to Professor Doyle's office. Though slightly nervous, she wished to introduce herself to the new Professor. She knocked twice and waited for the door to be opened. As a student walked out, she grabbed the door before it swung close and wallked inside. "Hello Professor," she said politely. "I'm a second year Gryffindor, Jessica Marvin and I wanted to introduce myself. I love Potions very much - you see, it is one of my strong subjects and I've found it really interesting. Professor, can you please inform me when the classes start? I don't want to miss it." |
Laurasia watched incredulously as student after student simply walked past her without waiting in line & went straight into the professors office without waiting to be called on. She thought that she had even seen a Prefect badge on one of them! She frowned sharply & knocked once more on the door, much louder than the previous time. Thievery within her House & she wasn't even able to get in to see her Head of House. She contemplated going straight to the Headmistresses office with the matter, but decided to wait just a bit longer to see if she would be able to gain proper entry to her Head of Houses' office first. |
"The next class will start on Friday at 12pm (EST, 5pm GMT)," Professor Branxton replied to all those who had enquired. Then, he turned to the waiting line. "Nabiya," he repeated, trying to remember the name and face as this was a student of some importance. "I assure you that I hold no ill will toward your house. Those guilty of their crimes have been punished appropriately and I'm sure you and your housemates will do your best to see that they start treating their teachers with a bit more respect," he gave her a small, encouraging smile, before turning to the next student. This must be how Cassandra felt all day long with petitioners lined up outside her gargoyle. "Now, Laurissa, what is it you needed to speak with me about?" he asked the Slytherin girl, motioning with his wand for the other to leave before he shut the door. |
Nabiya nodded at this, "We will, sir. Thank you." She said and turned to leave. |
Laurasia quickly entered her Head of Houses office & took a seat opposite his desk. She waited for the Hufflepuff Prefect to leave before continuing. "Good day, sir. I'm afraid that I don't bring good news regarding the Slytherin House. You see one of the students Fluffy (Username : Fluzzy) has stolen from some of the students, myself included. We were seated in the common room when he began to walk around saying hello to everyone. I found it somewhat odd, as he didn't seem actually interested in speaking. As he was walking away from me I noticed an object glisten in his hand. I knew that it was my mothers' locket, but I couldn't believe it. I dug through my bag, which the locket had been in, & found that it was indeed missing." She paused with anger apparent in her face. "When I stood to confront the boy he had already left the room. The other three students that he approached in the room were Natisia, Jess, & Biwiggy. I can only assume that he lifted something from them during his awkward approaches toward them as well." She stopped & waited for the Professors' reply. She was hoping that justice would be served quickly & her mothers' locket returned promptly. |
Jill listened to Pr. Branxton, nodded and left the room, writing when the next class would be. |
Professor Branxton frowned and pulled over a sheet of parchment. He began scribbling a note while he reassured the girl. "I will see to this straight away. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I will return your things once I've managed to get them back. Pilfering is a very serious crime and I will not tolerate it." |
"Excuse me Professor Branxton but, I was wondering if even though I missed the frst lesson I can still come to the next one?' Oliva asked the Professor. |
"Yes of course. You can also do the homework for the first class, if you'd like. Just hand in what you can do (ooc: browse through the class thread and you should be able to do it easy enough)." |
Laurasia smiled with relief as Professor Branxton seemed to be taking immediate action regarding the incident. She could remember a time, not so long ago, when getting one of the professors to help you with even such serious things as thievery was all but impossible. It pleased her greatly everytime that she saw an example of that old, horribly inadequate staff having been replaced by very capable professors. "Thank you Professor Branxton. It is a great relief to have a Head of House that is not too busy for their students. I will look forward to hearing from you in regards to the matter," she smiled very brightly, her mood having shifted greatly with being taken seriously. "Also you're very welcome for my informing you. In all honesty I was a bit wary of coming to my Head of House instead of the Headmistress herself, due to the inadequacies of some professors who previously held the position. I must say that I appreciate your attention in the matter though. And if you feel that you may ever need any assistance from me, I would be more than willing to help if I am able to do so." She rose from her seat & swung her bag over her shoulder. "Thank you once more Professor Branxton. I have some studying to get to now, so I won't take up anymore of your time." |
After the girl left, Schmoop appeared into the Potions Master's Office, convieniently making sure not to be seen as he waited so long. It was then he proceeded to his cleaning of the office and the tidying of the already rather clean area. The Professor didn't make much of a mess. "So many students makes Schmoop wait quite for ever," the little House Elf muttered as he darted round, cleaning here and there. |
"Braxton I need you in Lainey's office. Hurry man," McAiken said nearly shouting and out of breath. "She been biten!! Hurry please." |
"Bitten? By what? Has the nurse been alerted?"Doyle asked as he stood up from behind his desk and turned to open a cabinet full of vials. He took out a few general antiseptics and antidotes but, he'd need to know what it was if he was to get an exact potion for the problem. |
"It was a Crup but she thinks it was posionous. She is asking for you." McAiken tried to explain better. |
"A crup?" he replied, incredudously. He sighed and tossed the antidotes away, keeping the antiseptics. "Very well let's go." |
Aiden watched hidden behind a tapestry as the two professors ran off. He accio'd a potion which just escaped through the door as it closed behind the professor. With potion in hand, he crept off to common room. |
"I sent my owl for the nurse. Lainey is acting as if it is serious. I only call the nurse because I am only fair with healing charms. I didn't want to cause a scar on her beautiful leg," McAiken responsed as they left the office. |
"Fine, we'll take a secret passage," Branxton replied, and indicated the way. The two professors took off and bad it to the History of Magic corridor without having to run into too many students. ooc: continuing in the HoM office |
