Emma once again raised her hand. "Because when the skin is burned, it is dry and lacks the oil it usually should have. If you add oil it might replace some of the oil on the burned skin." This was just a guess but it was all Emma could come up with. |
Stacey raised her hand again and said, "I believe that the mallow sooths the painful burns and inflamation while the oil takes the heat out of the burn." |
Davina raised her hands."The mellow and oil could be used as a soothing agent as well as to make the potion thick and sticky" |
Jenna grinned slightly, proud of her 5 point answer. She didn't know the next question, however, so grabbed some parchment and a quill from her bag and began taking notes. |
Haefalaswen raised her hand again "Professor, because in corn oil there are cisdiol acid that can regenarate the making of new skin tissues and mallow is used to cool off the burn" |
"could the oil be used to make the paste thicker?" said luna, it was sort of an awnser but also a question |
"Very good theories, very good. The mallow leaves and stems are actually steeped in the corn oil in order to create a protective magical ointment. Corn has the magical powers of protection and luck. Mallow has the magical properties of protection and exorcism. In addition to creating a protective ointment, mallow steeped in vegitable oils also protects against dark magic. "Now, there are other ingredients in the burn healing paste. Any ideas as to what they might be?" |
Emma thought long and hard on this question. "Maybe something like phoenix tears, that help heal burns, sir." she said after raising her hand. |
Ryan thought, what do muggles do to help with burns, "Is it some form of mythical water or ointment sir?"Ryan asked. |
Jenna raised her hand again. "Perhaps some kind of bubotuber pus. Not just the pus, because that can make the damage worse, but if you altered it or took out the healing components it posesses, maybe that would work." She didn't know what healing qualities it posessed exactly, but she knew bubotuber pus had some healing powers. When applied directly to the skin, it could make the skin break out in painful boils. But if there was some other way to get the good stuff out of it, maybe it would work. Jenna felt her answer was worth a try. |

Jenna scribbled down aloe vera on her parchment. "Of course," she muttered under her breath, "why didn't I think of that." She still stood by her bubotuber theory, though. |
Ryan thought, he might aswell have another guess, "What about glue, you need glue to make paste."What a stupid thing to say!Ryan thought to himself. |
