He listened and nodded then, spoke up. "Ginger is most commonly used in potions to give it a boost of power. It does have the magical properties of fire. It is an interesting ingredient because it has soothing and stimulating properties depending upon its use in a potion. Now, take out your knives. I will distribute a ginger root to each of you and you will be practicing your cutting technique on them. Please make neat, thin, even slices and place them in the jars on your desks," he said, waving his wand so that ginger and jars appeared before the students.
