But she could be grateful and find something to buy for five sickles. It was better than no candy at all. Though that fudge looked really good... But it was too expensive for her right now. Sigh. She watched a little enviously as someone else picked some out to by, and...wait, she looked familiar. Oh! One of her house prefects and also one of the competitors in that competition last term! Regina had definitely seen her around a lot, obviously, but didn't know her too well. Maybe it would be good to? "You like fudge?" she asked. Which...probably was a silly question, but it was the first thing she could think of. |
Text Cut: Skylar Brent faked disappointment when Skylar pointed out he pretty much wasn't off the hook as far as classes go. "You sure about that? I mean, I was pretty awesome out there in that arena. I even scored a girlfriend," he said with a smirk. He was only kidding, even though he knew he wasn't quite as studious as she was. If he remembered correctly, she was something like...the top scoring student of the year. Pretty awesome stuff. "You're going to do just fine on the exams," he reassured her. "Don't forget you were the top scoring student last school year. You're probably going to get all Os or something really amazing like that." He wasn't just trying to be a good boyfriend either. He really believed she was going to make complete Os.[/B] He raised his eyebrows at her next comment. "Wow. You sound like you have things really figured out. I graduate next year, and I still don't have a clue. I'm thinking sports or something, though." He smiled...a genuine smile...when she took his hand. He gave her hand a small squeeze before nodding at her suggestion. "Window shopping sounds cool. I just want to be with my girl," he said. He took a step forward and started their walk, leading them nowhere in particular but still among the thick of things. "Let's eat our chocolate frogs," he suggested as they walked along. He'd bought two just to give one to her. |
Quote:
And now it was her turn to flush (only a little), at his high praises. "Yea, I don't know how that happened, to be honest. I'm nothing special and if I pass all my exams that I take I'll be content," Actually, that was a lie; she didn't want to just pass and they both probably knew that. Although she wasn't naive enough to think she could manage all outstandings either; these exams would be excruciating, testing everything of her last five years. "Please. I don't. At all. I'm still in the brainstorming phase." The only thing she knew was that she wanted to make a difference and leave her mark. She wanted people to remember Skylar Diggory. Brent was lucky, because if he did nothing else at Hogwarts, he'd always be remembered because he was a Hogwarts Champion. She, was what? A top student in her fourth year? Something that would easily be glossed over as more students came through the school and made even bigger impressions in classes than she ever did. Top student wasn't enough to leave her mark, that was for sure. Glancing up from her reflective thoughts at the hand squeeze, she nodded at him. "Thank you," taking one of the frogs from him and unwrapping it. Only her distracted thoughts about ambitions meant the frog was quicker than her and hopped out leaving her with an empty wrapper and a Hermione Granger card. "Rats. Her again. I think I've gotten about ten of her." |

"Hey, Kitty!" he grinned once he pulled away. "I'm doing alright. Summer's good, busy as always." And he had plenty going on this summer, mostly things that he was excited about. "What about you? Having a good summer?" He couldn't believe it was almost over, but he didn't really want to think about that. |
for Jess! Maia did not necessarily remember there being a candy shop in Diagon Alley when she had lived in London, but then again, it's also been a long five years since she's been here. Her memories of this place were so cloudy that everything has been a surprise to her thus far. but CANDYYYYYY. The delight on her face should not be forgotten by the people who saw her as she entered the building. She loved CANDY but who didn't?! She picked up a basket, knowing good and well that she would be needing it, and began walking down the aisles. I was one of these.... and one of these... OH I HAVE TO HAVE THIS! |
Quote:
"Ethan, wait!" Dominic called, wishing for the days when his kids didn't walk or run on their own. Of course the girls weren't nearly as bad as running off as Ethan seemed to be. Payback, maybe? Except he didn't have sisters or anyone to bother really, in the way Ethan seemed to. Why had Dia insisted on sending him out on these errands and taking Ethan anyway? He'd have far preferred to take Allison or Adrienne, who at least knew how to be dignified. Most of the time. Ignoring his father's pleas, because when did he EVER listen to his father, unless he was tied down? Something he knew he could avoid as he'd learned to test the limits and boundaries. Ethan ran into the candy shop, haphazardly knocking over candy displays and not even caring. Even going so far as to knock baskets out of other customers hands, spilling their contents all over their floor and stopping only once he'd been entrapped. "Ethan Peter Denton. Apologize. Right now," he said, holding his son under his arms, sparing half a glance at the woman his son victimized this time, as his topaz eyes pleaded with her to forgive him. Little did he know was that the woman just so happened to share a surname, or might not have used his son's full name as he had. Or did he realize the change this woman might bring to his mostly organized chaotic life. |
Quote:
Maia was taken back when a tiny terror of a human ran past her and knocked her basket out of her hands, which caused all the contents inside it to fly out and on to the floor. BUT that was not the reason why she was staring at the older man. Oh no no. She was staring because he had called that tiny terror a D E N T O N. Not only that though! PETER Denton - and whatever his first name was. Something with an E. All she had registered was the 'Peter Denton' part of the name. "It's..." She was a lost for words. "I'm sorry, but did you say his name was Denton? Peter Denton?" Her eyebrows were furrowed as she looked between the older man and tiny terror. so so so many things were going on in that head of hers. |
Quote:
But the change in facial expressions was something that definitely registered with the former hufflepuff. Her shock, surprise, but then the repeating of his son's name. No, not his son's name. His father's name; a name that while he'd carefully elected Peter as his son's middle name, didn't think he would hear it ever in the context, the way she said it. He was always Ethan. "Ethan. Ethan Peter Denton, yes," Dominic corrected, "he was named after the two fathers in my life. Well, sort of, my biological father was one I barely knew, but what would have liked to, but the other was a father figure, my professor, my mentor." And he rather wondered how Ethan Truebridge was doing at that moment. Hadn't his son been at Hogwarts recently? Dominic made a mental note to write to him. Also, why was he speaking up like he was to a total stranger? "Who are you?" Ethan asked, wrestling to be free. |
Quote:
Was this Lena's son? Surely it was because then everything would make sense - or as much sense as possible seeing at this situation was weird. There was a one in a million chance that she could of run into this man, and that one percent chance happened. She looked down at Ethan when he asked her that question, and she looked back at the man, whose name was still unknown. "I'm Maia," she answered. "Maia Denton." Not knowing what else to say, she fell quiet. |
Quote:
“Dad? Are you okay?” The small child glanced up at Dominic. And without a word, the former Hufflepuff slowly shook his head. “I’m sorry. We should go...” because creepy stalker person who STOLE his surname was not going to be around his kid(s). Shaking his took his son by the hand, leading him out of the shop. |
Quote:
"Wait! Wait, wait, WAIT!" She called out, leaving the mess on the floor to follow after him. She had short legs, so she wasn't the fastest person around. "I have one question. If I'm wrong, you can leave. If I'm right, you have to talk to me." She knew she was right about this though. "Lena is your mother." She paused. "Am I right?" She STARED HIM DOWN. |
Quote:
And also because it had registered in his brain that if she was right, he had to talk to her. And while he didn't like demands like those, he was a Hufflepuff. Fair was fair and even though he hadn't agreed to the terms, she asked the question before had a chance, he felt compelled because if anything, he was rather curious too. Specifically because she had the SAME stare. "Yes, and I'm her only child." He didn't know about his father's side, but he also hadn't particularly cared. Until now. "How do you know my mother?" And please, stay at least five feet away, thank you. |
Quote:
If Lena only had one child then there would be no more surprises for Maia because in all honesty, this was weird. Yes, she knew the person that helped get her through that last couple years of Durmstrang had a son, but she never thought she would be standing face to face with him years later. She had promised to herself that after graduation, she would leave those times behind and create new, happier memories. Life decided that those new, happier memories meant talking to her other half-brother..... and nephew? Oh dear, this was really weird. "I'm one of Peter's daughters," she stated, not getting into any specifics. He didn't need to know she had a twin yet. "I stayed with her for a couple years while I went to Durmstrang." She was not sure if he remembered a strange girl living with his mother; it had been a long time ago. |
Quote:
Peter's daughters. This was weird. Coincidental. He had not heard from his father in almost forty years, yet apparently he had not one daughter, but that was plural. Who seemed to be in her twenties judging from her appearance. Twenty years, his father had a whole second family and didn't bother to tell him. Or his mother. Or well, his mother obviously knew, but when did she know? Had she been keeping in touch with her ex for 38 years and not bothered to tell him? Was his anger? Frustration? Anxiety? Wrongly placed? Yes, he'd grown up with Lena and appeared to love his kids, her grandkids, but if she was hiding someone - a half-sister - WHY? For several years too. "Did...D-d-a-daughters...?" The former Hufflepuff repeated. "I'm ... I ... Why Durmstrang?" His mother lived in England; Hogwarts territory. And really, why was that the best question he could come up with of the millions rolling around in his head. Like, where was his father now? What was he doing? How many other 'second families' did he start? What was she doing here? |
Quote:
"I have a twin," she responded with the tiniest of nod. "I haven't spoken to her in a few years though." She had actually went off the radar for the longest when she moved to Hawaii to 'find herself' and 'become a freelance writer'. Only one of those two things actually happened. The other question did not come as a surprise either considering she should of went to Hogwarts, but - "I - well, we, I guess - have a younger brother. I knew he went to Durmstrang, and I went there to find him." She did not tell Lena that at the time though. Her excuse back then was 'Hogwarts is dangerous.' Which, in all honest, it was. That school was a nightmare. And when she has kids, they would NOT be going there! She paused, looked at him with big puppy dog eyes, and added, "I know this is strange." For real. "You probably think I'm making all this up, but I'm not. I'm not crazy. I've been tested for crazy before. I'm perfectly normal." Or as normal as Maia Denton could be. |
Mj... First stop for Ryan on any Diagon Alley visit for school supplies was going to be without a doubt Sugarplums and then it was a three way tie between the quidditch, prank and music shops. Luckily he had managed to get out of going with Will and Emily to Ollivanders to buy his kid sis her first wand. He loved and adored his siblings but a slender and tall teenage boy needed his space too. Pushing away some dark black strands of hair out his face that his mum insisted to cut before school Ryan headed over to the chocolate displays. He wanted to get some chocolate frogs and those chocolate gummy bears he liked too much. Yes, he knew it wasn't super healthy, but everyone deserved a treat now and then right? Picking up a packet of gummy bears to examine it closer and read the content Ryan's thoughts drifted to his kid sis again when he didn't want it to. He should get her a chocolate frog album if they had one. |
Quote:
The thirteen year old strolled down the street, then turned in to Sugarplum's. Maybe she'd get a lollipop or some gum. She slowly looked around as she walked through the aisles, her fingers casually trailing along the shelves. She noticed a boy that she knew was in her year over at the chocolate. Andi was sure she had seen him in at least one of her classes, but the name escaped her. That didn't matter so much though and she stepped over closer to him. "Those any good?" she asked, eyeing the package of candy he was currently looking at. She wasn't sure she had that particular brand. |
Quote:
Ryan smiled and said feeling like a sales person. "Yes, the gummy bears are terrific. Awesomely gooey and chocolaty and fresh and that they come in small pieces makes you want to just eat more." He probably should stop talking right now or at least change the subject. "You're in my year right, Andi?" |
It was summer time and, unfortunately, time to get shopping for school supplies for the next term. Summer was flying by TOO quickly for Natalie's preference. There was still so much she wanted to to. But today, she was in Diagon Alley with some money from her parents to get school supplies. Liam was around, somewhere, but she had veered off on her own to the sweet shop to stock up on some chocolates. Her parents didn't specifically tell her she couldn't get any, so... she was getting some. It was still warm, so Natalie had her hair braided back and was wearing a summer dress. She had gotten somewhat of a tan from her time on the beach and in Florida visiting her grandparents. London would never live up to Florida, in her opinion. Natalie picked up a basket and dropped in some chocolate frogs, being sure to grab a few extra to owl to Derf. Sugar quills too, yes... lemon drops... peppermint twists... |
Quote:
Now she had to be getting new books and stationery, supplies and uniforms. Wouldn't be much longer now. Horrid realization really. Hogwarts had been less than favourable at the end of the last term and with that letter, she couldn't imagine the new term would be any better. Decidedly willing to postpone her preparation for as long as she could, the Ravenclaw veered off into the candy shop. Might as well get something for Emmy and Ezra while she was her; both children had seen her walk into that fireplace and say "Diagon Alley" and both associated the place with an abundance of toys and candy. Just ahead of her, she could make out a familiar figure. Huh. Not a completely terrible trip to the alley today then. "Nat." She called, quickening her steps by just a little until she was standing by her. "Stocking up on candy for school?" |
Quote:
Hearing a familiar voice, Natalie looked back and saw her favorite Ravenclaw as she joined her at the candy. She smiled. "Yeah, I guess. And getting some chocolate frogs for Derf," she added, gesturing to the stockpile of chocolate in her basket. "How's your summer been?" she asked, moving down the aisle to some more chocolates. It was a shame they hadn't hung out all summer. She wondered if Jessa had gone to Zita's party that she and Liam very deliberately did not go to. |
Quote:
Ice mice? No, fizzing whizbees. They'd like those. There was notable pause at that question followed slowly after by a small shrug. "It's been alright. I've had better." But she'd probably had worse too. "How was yours? That trip with you, Liam and Cam." They'd already gone yeah? She remembered Cam mentioning it when he came over for camping. "I can't believe we've gotta be school shopping already. Didn't we just get off the train?" How was it basically August?? Where was the timeturner when you needed it? She wouldn't go back to the start of this summer. Maybe...maybe last summer. That one had been pretty good. |
For Miss Philippa Why, why, why did she have to move to America?! Couldn't she just stay in England with a friend? Or maybe move into Hogwarts permanently? That would be so much better than being a new girl again! She'd loved her first year at Hogwarts and now she was being moved to Ilvermorny. What kind of name was that, anyway? Holly huffed as she left her parents outside to decide where to go for a spot of lunch. She had decided that no, she did not want any lunch, thank you very much! She was perfectly happy to stuff her face full of sweets! And so, with her mind set, the 12-year-old waltzed into Sugarplums, the door swinging shut behind her. She tried her best to bring a smile to her face, she was literally a kid in a candy store, after all. But instead, her face remained set in a scowl. It had been weeks since she had been told of the move, and it hadn't become any easier over time. "Ilvermorny is going to suck!" she said adamantly, with a stomp of her foot for effect. The former Slytherin didn't care much for opinions. She was in a foul mood and she wanted everybody to know about it. Arms crossed over her chest, she moved further into the shop and toward the countless displays of several different sweets. And what if they didn't have her favourite sweets in America? Gosh, this move was going to be terrible. She just knew it! |
Quote:
And then.... and then. Philippa's lip quivered as she browsed the shelves, almost crying again as she rememebred she was going to Durmstrang. Sure, Chaela had gone to Durmstrang and all the von Brandts go to Durmstrang but SHE was supposed to be different and she was supposed to have been the most successful von Brandt at her school. Now... Sigh. Happening upon a glass case, she checked her reflection in the mirror, organizing her features into a pretty yet sad look, as opposed to the ugly crying look she's had on for weeks. No more ugly. Now that she was DONE with Papa and Dad forever, she needed to become the best model ever so she could support herself and become rich and famous like Justine Janvier. She couldn't do that while being ugly. She didn't bother looking over at the girl standing beside her, also rather upset, too absorbed with her reflection. |
Quote:
She picked up a package to inspect it, then lifted her eyes as he spoke. Andi smiled and nodded, pleased that he knew who she was. "That's right. I think you're in my Charms class?" Or maybe it was Transfiguration, but she figured he was in one of those classes with her. |
Quote:
She didn't think much of Jessa's response, assuming that her summer had just been a normal summer with no excitement. She responded to her question with a nod and a smile. "It was fun. We spent a lot of time on the beach. I think Cam had fun." They ALL had fun. It was a good time. She liked that her, Liam and Cam could hang out together. Natalie SIGHED at her next comment. "I know. Summer's going by too fast." Now, what was next... Taffy? |
Quote:
Scanning around the shelves up Ryan asked with a glance at Andi. "Do you know where they keep the chocolate frog card albums?" He really wanted to buy one for his sister who had damaged and broken hers. "Yes, we have Charms together. I'm Ryan Bones of Gryffindor house and you're in Slytherin?" he presented himself with a small smile. |
Mansa! (ETTA<3) Etta and Vi needed to do some serious celebrating. Thus, a trip to Sugarplums was a must. After learning that her own boyfriend had been made Head Boy, Vi had a very BIG sneaking suspicion that Etta may have become Hogwarts’ very own Head Girl. Or at least she hoped so. Vi thought her friend would make an excellent Head Girl just like Kitty had. Sure Kitty hadn’t been the most popular student at Hogwarts and sure she had been a little odd at times but she wasn’t afraid to be herself which is something that Vi respected immensely. She respected Kitty so much as the girl had the confidence to be brave and be true to herself which was something that Olivia had struggled with when she had been at Beauxbatons. Coming to Hogwarts and meeting Ace and Etta had definitely helped turn that around. Vi opened the door to Sugarplums and slipped her way into the store. She exhaled, feeling relieved that the store wasn’t too, too busy. |
Quote:
Curious. Very curious. "I bet he did." She said, now momentarily distracted from the first line of argument by the talk of beaches. "I know he was really looking forward to it. Said he'd take pictures so I can see." Saying this only served to remind her of the plans they'd made for the train and how these plans would now have to be majorly altered. Thanks a lot Hogwarts. "I almost wish there was another month of summer but if it's gonna go like the rest of it has, reckon I might as well take my chances back at the castle. At least then I'll have all my experiments at my disposal." |
Anyone? Cordelia had everything organized for a day out shopping in Diagon Alley with her care worker. For Cordelia this meant counting the money that she had to spend, and making sure that she had her purse and backpack packed with all of the necessary and backup diabetes supplies including her blood glucose testing kit, juice boxes and sweets for low blood glucose, her continuous glucose monitor receiver, extra insulin pump sets, and insulin syringes. She wasn’t old enough to go to Hogwarts yet, so while the older kids were getting all their school stuff, Cordelia was going around with her care worker looking in all the shops selling products that would be of interest to eight year olds. Her first stop was the candy store called Sugarplums. Cordelia ran ahead of her care worker into the shop, looking around excitedly at everything and smiling. Look at that! They had jelly beans! The jelly beans were called Bertie Botts and it said they came in EVERY flavor! Cordelia was curious to find out what flavors were in the boxes that claimed to have every flavor. Jelly beans were the best! She was definitely going to get a bunch of these as low snacks. How many of the sugary beans were in each packet? How many jelly beans did she need to eat to get fifteen grams of carbs? Her tiny hands grabbed boxes of Bertie Botts off the shelf and placed them into a basket that looked disproportionately large compared to her small body. The larger hands of Cordelia’s care worker plucked several boxes out of the basket and back on to the shelves, as a reminder that Cordelia needed to limit herself only to what she had money for. Okay, maybe she would just get a box or two. Could she get more by saying these were necessary medical supplies? |
Patrick walked into the shop and began to admire the candy displays. He was happy to be back in Diagon Alley considering it had been a long summer. He had gotten to visit his friends back in the states and they had way too much fun playing on his grandparents farm. However, when he got back to England, his southern accent was thicker than it was before. He perused the isles and wondered if he would run into any of his friends from the year before. He had heard rumblings that quiditch would be back this term, he should likely convince his parents to buy him a broom so he could try out. |
Quote:
Natalie smiled, sure that Cam had taken pictures to share. "You should come sometime. Probably next summer, and Cam can come again." That would be fun. Cam AND Jessa? WILD. Curious, Natalie looked over at her friend. "Has it been lousy?" she asked. The words and tone of her voice made it seem like her summer hadn't gone so well if she wanted to go back to Hogwarts already. It was true, though, that Jessa probably had everything she needed for all her "experiments" at the castle. |

Making her way through the aisle she found the shelves of chocolate frogs. Grabbing a few she was about to make her way to another aisle when she saw a boy about her age and smile cheerfully at him. "Hello!" |

Miranda made her way into the sweet shop to get some more melting disks for her chocolates. She planned on making twice as many as last term to start out with for each House at school.. As she entered she saw Rian's mother and soon saw Rylee.. She would need to go and say hello and all that once she had gotten the things she had come for... Right now she was on a mini mission and only after getting the chocolate melting disks into her basket would she go over. |

“you know my absolute favorite is fudge my mamas makes the best fudge there is.” he looked around the store because he couldn’t remember where it was in this store. |
Quote:
Oh! "Fudge is really yummy! I really like the peanut butter fudge best," Ry replied smiling. Noticing that he was looking around she spoke again. "The fudge is kept up front if that's what you're looking for." Maybe she would get a bit of that too while she was here. |
Quote:
He looked around looking for anything his Lilypad might like and grabbed a handful of chocolate frogs and quills before heading to the beans. Only to find his stock was being raided by a younger kid!!!!! Eyes wide he walked over. NOOOOOO. Watching as the older person put the rest back after taking a few he relaxed and grabbed the basket. His. Ha. His mum's voice rang in his head though yelling at him for being a prat and he blushed. "Are you done with these?" He asked softly. See he could be nice. Sometimes. Maybe. Well they were his favorite candy after all right? And he was going to buy them all! |

|
Quote:
The thirteen year old shrugged again and shook her head, hearing his question. "No, I don't I don't collect them... But I'd guess they'd be with the chocolate frogs." It would make the most sense to her anyway, but she never noticed them and hadn't ever looked for them. Ryan... right, okay, that was his name. She didn't think it was necessary to say that she hadn't remembered, but it was good that he offered it to her. "That's right," she nodded happily. "Slytherin." |
Quote:
Miranda saw the wave and the excited bounce Rylee was doing and waved back with a smile. It only took her a few minutes to gather the chocolate discs she would need to make her sweets for start of term. Then over she went to her best friend's little sister and gave the young girl a huge hug. " Hey there.. Looks like you're having fun.. What are you buying?" , she asked as she peered into her arm load. |
Quote:
Quote:
Hugs! Rylee beamed up at Miranda hugging her tightly. The older girl might be her big sisters best friend but that didn't mean that she didn't look up to her. Having known Miranda since she was around four or five years old only served the purpose in making her feel like she had another big sister at times. "Uh-huh," she giggled. How could one not have fun in Sugarplums?! "Just chocolate frogs so far... I still need to get red licorice rope for Reese and some sugar quills. Will you walk with me?" Pleeeeaaase? She glanced at the basket in Miranda's hand and smiled widely. "Are you making those candies again... the ones you give to Rian?!" |
For Ewan George Jones...and anyone else that would like to join :) Emmalyn entered Sugarplum’s with a pocket light on change. She really wanted to take some treats with her to Hogwarts, knowing it might be several months before she could stock back up. Unfortunately, her new broom and goggles had taken the majority of her funds. Either way, she was going to figure out a way to get the most bang for her knuts. As she stood, looking over all of the deliciousness, she heard the door to the shop open again and saw an unfamiliar face enter. Her smile brightened “Hi” she greeted the newcomer and waited to see if he wanted to chat. |
Quote:
As the door closed behind him, he saw a girl with light brown hair and fair skin look up at him. Despite the friendly "Hi" from the youbg witch, Ewan was cautious. He had never spoken to a fellow witch. Tentatively, smiled back and mumbled "Hi" looking down as he did so. Social interaction was not Ewan's strong point. |
For Kathy "Can we come back to Diagon Alley again before school starts?" Néve asked her parents, who were looking preeetty exhausted. She, on the other hand, was cheerfully swinging her bags back and forth by her side. Their answer? 'Yes, because they hadn't found all the books she and Will needed for school yet.' YAY. That was good. Néve really liked Diagon Alley. It had so many secrets and cool things that she could write about. "Can we come back soon??" She wanted to write lots - as much as possible, really - over summer because she might not have as much time to write when she got to Hogwarts. Their answer this time was a simple 'yeah'. Hmm.. "I'm sorry," she mumbled. She could tell they were really tired. ........ ..............."I have one more question.." She paused, trying to figure out if one more question was one question too many. "Can I please buy some sweets from Sugarplums?" Néve looked at them with her most adoring eyes and watched as they sighed, gentle smiles tugging at their lips. That meant yes. YIPEE. As most eager eleven-year-olds would, she bounced on the balls of her feet as she waited for her parents to hand over her allowance and then she was OFF. Once inside, she made a beeline for sour-looking candies. Her favourites. |
Quote:
Hoping to encourage him a bit, she stepped towards the entry of the store where he stood. "Would you like to help me pick out some candy? I need to get as much as I can with the little I have left after buying my new broom." Oh the broom. How she couldn't wait to ride her new broom in the first quidditch game of the year. No last place again for the Hufflepuffs. No. That was not going to happen to her two years in a row. |
omg I forget that you call me Kathy HAHAHA Quote:
He blew past the girl his ages talking with her family outside, though was cautious enough not to bump into anyone, and began his own browsing. Starting off by the gum. "Invisible Gum...." he read aloud. That sounded appealing. |
Quote:
"Sorry" Ewan said, smiling at the Emmalyn sheepishly. "I've never seen a broom before, let alone flown on one". He hoped he didn't scare her off like the rest of his friends. |
Quote:
Emmalyn grinned as the boy pelted her with questions. She was always happy to talk about flying, one of her favorite things, and patiently waited for him to finish. "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Ewan." She stepped a bit to the left, leaving room for any newcomers to enter the shop. "I did just buy a new broom. It's a Firebolt X-treme S." She wished she had the broom with her that very moment to show him. "I played on the house quidditch team last year, and I hope to make the team again. I played chaser. I think it's my favorite position, but I've never officially played the others before to compare." So, he had never been on a broom before. "You must be muggleborn. I am too. I had never been on a broom before last year either." She hoped that would make him feel a bit more comfortable. Her first trip to Diagon Alley last summer was utterly overwhelming. It seemed like she was the only one that had never heard of the magical world before. "You will get to take flying class at Hogwarts and it's loads of fun." She fiddled with her bracelet and looked at his young face. "Are you excited about starting Hogwarts? Which house do you hope to be placed in? I'm a Hufflepuff. It's great, but the other houses are nice too." |
Quote:
Quote:
"Honestly, i'm not really sure what house i'll be in. I mean they all sound great. I mean as long as they don't change their mind and send me home, I don't mind". Chuckling nervously, Ewan smiled at the girl. He didn't know what a Hufflepuff was, but he was sure that if this girl was one, he wouldn't mind being one too. |
open - anyone Summer…girl, she was R E A D Y to get sorted already…please, even if after that little meet-up with the cool standoffish slytherman she had met just earlier that week…she was ready, ready to stake her claim on that cold underwater house that was about to be her home for…however long this was going to take. Still, she wanted to get candy, and well, maybe to grab standoffish-guy a thanks for putting up with my s a s s i t u d e gift because obviously, he deserved it. Obviously, ‘cause he had put up with her and that, that was a feat and a half…as her mum had put it. |

Ewan and eavesdropping new girl :) SPOILER!!: the both of you Her face was almost aching from her giant smile. "Quidditch is probably the best sport ever. First of all, you play it on a broom. Then you get to try to score points while these bludger balls fly around the field, trying to knock you off your broom." Her excitement was evident and she had to contain herself so she wouldn't explode quidditch all over the poor boy. "That's all I say about it for now. You will understand it more when you see your first game." "I'm muggle born too. Did I already say that? I sometimes forget when I get excited. Anyway, I had no idea about any of this before I received my letter last summer. It was quite a shock." She hoped he would feel more comfortable knowing he wasn't the only one to feel so out of sorts around all the magical folks. Just as she was about to go on, she noticed the younger girl approach and stand near them. After Ewan asked her if she was okay, Emmalyn offered "Would you like to join us? We are chatting about brooms and quidditch, and what's it's like coming here the first time being a muggleborn." She motioned the girl to come closer. "I need some candy suggestions too. I want to stock up for Hogwarts." |
Quote:
"I'm a muggleborn. I had no idea about... well.. any of this. It's been me and my dad for so long. I mean... weird things have always happened" he chuckled, thinking back to the time he vanished when he was being chased by the school bully. "Hey, I was wondering. Which Howarts house did you say you were in? I have no idea what house i'll be in" Ewan confessed. "I've heard different things about all of the houses.. so.. I really have no idea where I'll be. Maybe". Ewan whispered more softly... "Maybe they'll just send me home" , a faint shade of fear across his face. He didn't know how the two girls infront of him would react. |
Quote:
"So, it's just you and your dad?" She hoped she wasn't being too personal. "I haven't seen my parents in about a year. They dropped me off to catch the Hogwarts Express last fall and said if I chose to go to a magical school, I couldn't come back home." Her face dropped a moment, then she perked back up. "It's okay, really. I think they will come around one day. It was all just too much for my dad, and my mom couldn't leave him." She shook her head and wondered how she would have felt if it would have been her child. Her bright smile came back in full force when Ewan asked about houses. "I'm a Hufflepuff! I love being a Hufflepuff. All of my housemates are so kind and we all help each other. They are my family now." Not wanting to make the rest of the houses seem bad, since she had no idea what house Ewan would be sorted into. "The other houses are great too. Most of the students at Hogwarts are great. There are a few you want to steer clear of, like Zita, but most are great." She wouldn't get into the professors. Most of them were great too, but there were a few that that were down right scary. "Are you nervous about being sorted? It doesn't hurt." |

He continued "It's just me and Dad. Mum died a few years back... She... wasn't very well. Cancer." Looking down slightly, he put his hands in his pockets, almost automatically. "But it's okay, I have Dad and he's great!. Almost had a heart attack when I had my letter!" Smiling now, remembering the shocked look on his Dads face. He'd almost turned into a ghost. |"Hufflepuff do sound pretty cool though! Taking you in like that. I wonder if I'll be in Hufflepuff" Ewan continued. "I don't mind where I'm sorted as long as I get along with my house! and... Who's Zita? Smiling now...Ewan was a friendly person and it wasn't often that he got into trouble. Knowing who to stay away from may come in use. |
SPOILER!!: eep all of this Beth was a little startled when Ewan and Emmalyn started talking to her. Oh, wait…they were talking to her – ”s-sorry” she stammered for a moment as the shock of being called out hit her in the gut. ”…I’m good, sorry I was thinking about candy” it was only half of the truth. |
Quote:
"I don't really know what house i'm going to be in, I'm muggleborn you see, Ewan continued. "Slytherin? aha that's cool! I haven't really thought about them. I mean, I've never actually met someone in Slytherin" he confessed. "That's all good though, I mean, as long as you love candy (or chocolate in Ewan's case), you're good with me"grinning now. The thought of chocolate distracted Ewan. What he wouldn't do for a bit of chocolate now! |
Quote:
She tried her best to keep a happy face, but it did hurt to hear someone else speak of her reality. "It's okay, really. I had a choice to make and I chose Hogwarts." Plus, at least both of her parents were still alive. "I'm so sorry to hear about your mum. I'm glad you have such a good dad though." This was not the happy conversation she wanted to have in the candy shop. No, things should be happy and exciting with so much candy around. "I'm sure you will love whatever house the sorting hat chooses for you. It always knows where you will best fit." She was sure of that. Of all of the other students she'd ever met at Hogwarts, each and every one of them was in the perfect house. "Oh, Zita. I hope you never have to meet her. She's a, well, not so nice Slytherin fifth year. Just stay away and you will be fine." Emmalyn didn't want to get into her history with Zita. That was another conversation best saved for a later date. Quote:
"Slytherin is a great house too." She nodded as she spoke of the girl's desired house. "Slytherin won the house cup and quidditch last year. Do you think you will try out for the team?" |

Ewan stared at the floor for a second. He wasn't sure why he volunteered that information about his mother. I guess...she'd caught him off guard with her story about her parents. Ewan felt as though he had to tell the girl his story. Even if it was to make her understand that he sort of knew what she was going through I guess. Looking up at the second year girl, he disregarded her reply about Zita. "Hey, do you two want to come and help me pick some sweets? I don't mind sharing! As long as there's something sour or full of chocolate!" he grinned. He loved sour sweets and chocolate. Ooooo melted chocolate! His favourite! |
Quote:
"What is your favorite? Plain, filled, coated?" She glanced around the shop and spotted the fudge display. "Oh, there's the fudge. I love fudge. The dark chocolate, maple, and chocolate dragon are my favorites. I'll need to pick just one this time, or I won't have enough for anything else." |
Open Post Bypassing some kids who looked to be discussing Candy and what was best and what was not and what they were going to take to Hogwarts as though saving Candy was a potability. Minnie giggled to herself as she started to take 3 bags full of licorice wands, sugar quills, Drooble's Best Blowing Gum. She especially liked Drooble's. And as much as she enjoyed Drooble's she knew not to buy those in bul. Her Favorite Bubblegum always lasted forever. She placed 3 into her final bag and went on her way. |
Oh, dear Merlin. She had found it. Lex had a sweet tooth, and she had been so excited to find some sweets to last through her first couple of weeks at Hogwarts. Her parents wouldn't be too pleased if they saw all the candy she was planning to buy, but... well, they didn't have to know! Lex's eyes were wide and excited. She was surrounded by more sweets than she had ever seen in her life. At least, that's how it felt. Surely, she would need some of everything, right? She didn't care much for licorice, but everything else was making her mouth water. Lex grabbed a basket and started to look through the shelves of candy in front of her. She didn't want to take TOO much, or else people would think she was being greedy. She always wanted to make a decent impression on people, but especially now that she was starting at Hogwarts. She picked up a few of her favorites, and continued browsing. |

Emmalyn brushed her hair back out of her eyes. She knew she should have pulled it back that morning, but she had been running late and decided to just leave it down. "You should see if you can sample a bit of the chocolate dragon fudge. It's amazing." |
Chocolate!!!!!!! Quote:
Ruffling his hair now, he looked down. He knew how much an idea could take over him. But the poor girl infront of him didn't. What had he just done... |

She smiled and tried to keep from giggling at his excitement. She wasn't making fun of him at all, rather she was enjoying his enthusiasm. She had been known on several occasions to get a bit overly excited herself. "I would love to try some. Yes, you should bring some to Hogwarts, and I'll bring some of my favorites too." Hmm, now he was onto something. They could make their own chocolates. It wouldn't be that hard. They would both already have cauldrons, and a simple spell could be use to keep them and the proper temperature. "I bet we could even talk one of the professors into letting us use a small space to make it. " Her mind raced with the possibilities. "Professor Noble would be our best bet, he does have control over the potions lab...but, he's not the friendliest." She rubbed her temples, trying to think of which professors would be the most willing. "Oh, I know. Professor Myers. He's the Hufflepuff head of house and the Herbology professor. We could ask him for some space in one of the greenhouses. Plus, we would have access to mint and other herbs to mix with the chocolate if we wanted." She quickly reached into her bag and pulled out a small pad of paper and a pen. "What would we need to do this? How much to get us going?" She hoped he was still on board. If not, maybe she would give it a go either way. |
Quote:
"Should we maybe start from the Cocoa Bean? Maybe we could grow our own in the green house! Imagine all the different things we could do from scratch!". Damn... He couldn't wait to start! |

Cookbooks. Those were a great idea. "You bring your muggle cookbooks and I'll check over at Flourish and Blotts to see if they happen to have any wizard chocolate or dessert cookbooks. We can also search the standard book of spells and the herbology books to see if we can come up with some ideas." With all of the amazing wizard candy there was, surely they could come up with some fantastic chocolate add-ins. Her pen continued as fast as she could write. Notebook pages being flipped even quicker to add more information. She paused a moment to stretch her sore writing hand. "I've never started from bean to make any chocolates, but I'm willing to try. It would be a neat experiment either way." Her fingers tapped her notepad "I wonder if we would need to get permission to sell the chocolate? It would probably be a good idea to ask about that too. It would be nice to at least cover our expenses, but to be able to get enough to make another purchase during the Hogsmead trip...well, that would get us through until Christmas holiday." |

Nailah Kalu emerged from the storeroom and headed toward the displays in the front of the store. She had a pretty large order coming in and wanted to make sure her displays were as straight and organized as they could be. In a few weeks, the shop would be buzzing with children once again, and the new shopkeeper was getting prepared in every way she could. She could easily straighten and organize with a wave of her wand, but seeing as she wanted everything just a certain way, she was working by hand alone. She still couldn't believe she was now running the sweet shop. It wasn't exactly what she had planned for future, but it was still an adventure she was looking forward to. Nailah thought about everything that awaited her as she switched around displays and straightened items that had been plundered through. Life was good! |
Hooboy...was there anything as wonderful smelling as a candy shop? Nope. Don't argue. Lexi knew these things. There was nothing better smelling. She stood, motionless just inside the door, breathing in this cone of deliciousness, almost entranced, for a long moment -this is why I can't own a candy shop folks! That and one other thing- before she was able to break out of it with a shake of the head. Focus, Lex! She was on a mission here, of the utmost importance, and......Oooooh, they have chocolate fudge dragons! Well, buying some for herself as well couldn't hurt. Lexi hurried back to the from of the shop to grab a basket, and returned equally fast to the displays, gingerly placing quantities of chocolate in her basket. All sorts. Fudge dragons, chocolate frogs, milk chocolate and dark, a pound each. Only a galleon a pound! Wait, was that expensive or no? Oh, who cares. It's chocolate. She added some jumping gummybears and sugar quills too, and...oh yeah. The mission. Spotting the shopkeeper, Lexi made her way over to introduce herself. Or...that was the intent, Hi, I'm Lexi, the new owner of Primpernelle's and so forth... Instead, she said, "How do you do it? If I worked here I would eat everything!" Pause. "Er...sorry. Hi, I'm Lexi. I just bought Madame Primpernelle's, and was thinking of getting some lollipops to put out on my counter for kids to take if they want...and well," she held up her basket, "got a bit sidetracked." |
Nailah had just finished setting up the first of her many, many, MANNNNNNNY displays, when the sound of the door opening caught her attention. She whirled around, ready to spew out a friendly greeting, when the sight of the customer before her caused her to stop. She honestly could tell, for a moment, if the girl was just in awe, or if she'd been stunned. When she realized that she was just in awe, the new shopkeeper laughed. "That was my first reaction, too," she said. She couldn't believe she was lucky enough to be the shopkeeper of a candy story, but what she couldn't believe more than that, is the fact that she hadn't managed to eat all the candy yet! She laughed again. "Don't worry. It's taking a lot of willpower not to eat this whole display," she admitted. She raised her eyebrows. So this wasn't necessarily a customer, but another shopkeeper! Ohh, exciting! "I'm Nailah, the new owner...well, you know! You're actually the first shopkeeper I've met around here." So she wanted lollipops? "Well, you've come to the right place," she said, and she led the shopkeeper to the lollipop display. |
Oh, good! Not just her, then. But, still. Lexi gave Nailah, -"That's a pretty name!"- a once over, impressed. If she was enough like Lexi as she hinted at being, Nailah had more willpower in her tall, slender frame than anyone Lexi had ever met before. Including, her own father-in-law, who was Mr. Willpower. "I don't think I'd have that much willpower even if you combined three of me..." Case in point, the fact that Lexi's basket was getting noticeably fuller, even on the short walk to the lollipops. "Oh, these will be perfect! I'll get maybe just one pound for now and stop back in for more later. And I'll definitely tell my customers where they can get more of them." So, Nailah was new too. Just like Lucy at the Leaky Cauldron and Evan at Magical Menageries, and of course, Lexi herself. That was curious. Did something chase off the previous owners? Oh well, our gain right? "I haven't met that many yet myself, you know, busy in my shop, planning out changes and such, but so far, everyone I've met have been amazing. Super friendly." Present company included. |
Text Cut: Callie Nailah smiled. "Thank you!" she said. She happened to be really fond of her name, too. It was a good reminder of where she'd come from. In the few seconds that passed, Nailah could tell Lexi was giving her the once-over. She even thought about joking around and striking a pose. The shopkeeper laughed. "I don't even know if I'm going to have enough willpower. Sometimes I question myself." Then on cue, her gaze drifted to a nearby display of Jelly Slugs. They looked really inviting. She watched as her co-shopkeeper's basket began to fill. "Well, thank you! I'll make sure to direct my customers over to your shop, too," she said. They should have some big event together at some point. It'd be fun! "Changes?" she questioned along. Interesting. "So what's the big plans? Or is it a secret?" Nailah wasn't even sure she'd know the difference one way or the other. She wasn't from here, and since she'd only gone to Hogwarts for one year, this hadn't been her usual go-to place school shopping. |
Rylee! After a day of shopping, his father had given him some left over money to buy candy at Sugarplum's and the money was currently in his hand as he opened the door to get inside of the shop. Once inside, the Ravenclaw did not have to look around for long until he found the chocolate frog section. He had been collecting the cards since he had joined the chocolate frog card club at school during his second year. But because his family was poor, he only had enough money to buy one maybe two frogs at the time. He looked down at his money and counted them only to find out he was one sickle short to buy two chocolate frogs and he sighed. He guessed he just had to buy one instead... Or... The soon to be fourth year looked around, trying to find someone he knew he could borrow money from. He would pay them back of course. |
Dorian! (Anyone else can play too!) The summer weeks were slowly moving along and with each day spent with her family, Rylee was feeling better. All that had happened in the final weeks of her second term at Hogwarts was locked away, she didn't want to talk about or think about even if the nightmares were ever present as the fading scars on her arm. Rylee had promised to meet back up with her older sister and nephew a little later on, Rian had taken Saros to get some new clothing. The toddler was growing so fast! The first place a young teen with some spare change (that she was allowing herself to spend!) was for some candy. Sweet sweet sugar! Stepping into the shop and grabbing a small basket she made her way down one of the aisles. Chocolate frogs were a need, red licorice too AND she couldn't forget SUGAR QUILLS! Half-way down the aisle she spotted someone very familiar, a warm smile tugging at her lips. "Dorian! Hi!" And straight towards him she went. "How's your summer?" |
Dorian turned around when he heard someone call his name and a small smile played on his lips when he saw that it his Gryffindor friend. "Hi!" He waved his free hand at her. "No Declan this time?" he asked with a grin before he looked outside of the nearby window. Riiight..summer "It went by way too fast" he sighed before turning back. "But it was okay. We had to cancel our weekend vacation cause my dad couldn't get free from work but...." he shrugged his shoulders as if saying 'oh well' "Did you do anything?" He turned to the shelves and grabbed one of the chocolate frogs and placed it in his basket. Then he stole a glance at Rylee's basket and he got a little jealous. "Do you have a sickle? I only need one to buy two chocolate frogs" he said as he pointed at packages. "I'll pay you back of course!" He just wanted two chocolate frogs T_T |

Oh MERLIN! The young girl was now seeing spots in her vision as it felt like her chest was tightening. Was she about to have an anxiety attack in the middle of a candy store? That was highly likely. As she turned a corner, somewhat blindly, she let out a squeak as she crashed into a pair of kids. This was PERFECT! PERFECT! |
Rylee and Penny! One thing that came natural to Dorian was the fact that he observed his surroundings. He liked to know where he was at all times, what others were doing because he was curious and it did not help either that his senses got heightened after the Inferi attack from last year. Normal things made him jump but now most things made him jump even when he saw them coming a mile away. Or in this case an aisle away because his blue eyes had found the young girl as he was talking to Rylee, wondering where her parents were when she literally crashed in to them. Well, at he last second, Dorian had spun his body half way so that he was facing the sugar quills shelf in order not to get hit and then looked back over his shoulder. "What was that for?" he asked, his voice slightly panicky as he turned back around. |
Dorian & Penny! Rylee giggled. "Nope, no, Declan today. Unless you prefer that name?" she teased lightly smiling at him. It was funny how easily those names stick with them and became their own little joke. All due to one little elfsie getting their names wrong. "Aaww, that stinks! I didn't really do much this summer either. Mostly spending a lot of time with my family." After the inferi attacks she needed time with them. "Maybe you could come over for a visit before the break is over?" There's was plenty to do on their families property and they didn't have to go swimming either. Noticing Dorian glance at her basket she giggled. "This isn't all mine. Only the sugar quills are." The licorice rope was for Reese and the chocolate frogs were for Rian, Silas, Ix and Saros. A sickle? Doing some very quick calculations in her she nodded fast. "Mhmm." Reaching into her small shoulder bag she fished out a single sickle holding it out for him. "Here you go." She smiled glad she could help. No worries about paying it back either. Friends helped friends. Having been facing Dorian as they spoke, Rylee didn't see the slightly older girl as she crashed into the both of them. "Whoa! Are you alright? What about you, are you okay?" she asked quickly looking between her friend and the girl even as she stumbled forward herself, thankfully not falling over cause that would have been all levels of embarrassing! |
*leaves for Sarah and flies away on rainbow unicorn * After awhile of school shopping Stella was tired and needed a bit of a boost to help her finish her school list, she still had her school robe to get and she was already beat getting her school books, if she had this much for the first year she can only imagine what it'll be like after this. Walking into the shop she looked in awe at it, she never seen this much candy in her life the muggle candy store by her house was nothing compared to this! Walking the rest of the way through the store so she doesn't get mobbed by the people coming in and out of the store, she decided one thing for sure and that was chocolate frogs, she loved those things. Her father always gotten her some before he came home from work at the ministry, she always wondered what he did he just told her he stopped bad guys, whatever that meant. As of right now, she was focused on getting some of those delicious chocolate frogs in her mouth as quickly as possible. Walking over towards the chocolate frogs she grabbed a handful putting them in her basket before looking around the store once again, seeing some fudge not too far from her, she walked over towards it. Hm... looked like normal fudge, but peanut butter and jellyfish? No thanks she'll pass on that it didn't look too appealing to her. Maybe some dark chocolate fudge is what she'll get, it looked pretty good. Reaching out to get some, she stood on her tip toes to get some from the top shelf but she couldn't reach it. Dang her being short! Reaching her hand out she felt for it. " Almost got it, ah ha! got ya sucess!" she said as she put it in her basket. Seeing the licorice wands she wrinkled her nose, she didn't like those a whole lot, they were nasty to her. Hm...what else to get? she didn't know what else was good to get, this was her first time in here. Walking wonderless and lost around the store, she bit her lip trying to figure out where to go, it was quite a big store to her. Maybe if she walked around a bit maybe she'll find something else that catches her eye. |

"Ugggggggh," she moaned dramatically before just giving into gravity altogether and flopping backward onto the floor. Yes, this was embarrassing and yes she was being over the top about it all, but really she just wanted to sink into the floor and disappear forever. Could that happen? Was that a thing? Using her arm to cover her face she muttered a M'sorry. Finally peeking from behind her arm, face beetroot red, she spoke up, "I dinnit do it on purrrpose. It was an... acci...dent..." Were they going to shout at her now? If so she was likely to cry right there in the middle of the shoppe. Worst day ever. |
SPOILER!!: Nailah Uh-huh. Lexi raised an eyebrow, just for a second, and smiled. "Well, struggle or not you have more willpower than me." As she was saying this, her hand reached out, almost as if on its own, and pulled a packet of jumping gummy bears into her basket. "See?" Two more packets joined the other. "Er...I should probably check out before I end up just buying the whole store." She lit up at Nailah mentioning she'd be sure to mention Primpernelle's to her own customers. "Thank you!" And as for the changes, well... "Mostly, I just want to make my shop more me, you know? Well, me and my wife actually. If it was me, it'd probably all pink, which, Tammers claims would be too much of an eyesore. She's probably right. Other than that, I'll be overhauling the inventory after I clear out what's currently in stock. So, if you have any items you'd like to see stocked, let me know!" |
Rylee and Penny! "Actually, i had been thinking of legally changing my name to Declan one day" he said in all seriousness but then he laughed showing that he was just joking. Declan was just a little joke between him Rylee and that House elf... Merlin's Beard he had forgotten the name of the elf already. How on earth did Rylee remember them all? He felt awkward asking now though so he just let it pass. A visit at Rylee's house? That sounded cool and Dorian was nodding his head before he had really thought about it he could go or not. "That be awesome! My dad will be pleased if he knew i had a friend to go to" Merlin's Beard that sounded weird. "Not that i don't have friends, i mean i got more muggle friends then wizarding friends that i go to over the summer" which was boring sometimes because they all did not know about the wizarding world and he had to really watch out what he said and did. As he was explaining, Dorian realised that the Gryffindor was holding up her hand and he looked at it. Before he remembered he had asked for money earlier. "Woah thanks! Now i can buy two chocolate frogs! I collect the cards you see" so getting two frogs was way better than one. "I'll pay you back some day. You can hex me if i don't" She knew that that was a lame joke right? She did not take that seriously RIGHT?! Now that the danger that was the falling girl was over, Dorian turned back around and looked at her on the ground. If he had been that girl he would have wished for the ground to open up and swallow him whole. Because that HAD to be embarrassing for her part. Rylee was being friendly and asking if she was okay but Dorian on the other hand just looked at her curiously. "What even happened? You weren't running i saw you earlier" wow that sounded stalkerish but whatever. "Did you get sick or somehing?" he asked. Or was she just...weird? |
Helena decided to buy a stack of sweet treats for her sister Jemma and niece Daisy as a "thank you" for being allowed to stay over at their home. After a few years of not speaking with one another, the two sisters had healed their rift after the death of Helena's brother-in-law and the experience Daisy went through with the Inferi. Grabbing a basket, Helena began looking at the displays. Within moments, her basket had begun to be filled up. Inside the basket were the following items: Three pounds of hazelnut chocolate, a box of cherry-centred truffles, three pounds of Chocoballs, six Chocolate Frogs and two boxes of Pumpkin Pasties. Once happy with what was inside her basket, Helena headed for the counter. |
Dorian & Penny! There was a brief moment between the seriousness and then the laughter that had Rylee blinking at her friend. When she realized he was only teasing she began to laugh as well. While Declan was an awesome name Dorian fit him better. "Nah, Declan is better if only two us call you that." She grinned meaning just her and Tippin. "Great! There's tons we can do! Let me know what your dad says and I'll talk to my sister and then you can come visit!" Having friends over to visit was something she loved to do. Going to visit friends was just as fun. She already knew her sister wouldn't mind her having another friend come to visit... anything to help lift her spirits again. Yeah, she had heard Rian say that once before. After all that's happening it was the little things now that made her most happy. "You do? I used to collect them but not anymore." She had given all her doubles to Reese. All she really needed was one of each care anyhow. "If I have any copies not already promised to my brother you can have them." Or Drew cause he collected them too. "Don't worry about it." Rylee waved him off. A sickle wasn't a big deal really and they were friends. Buuuuut... what in the name of Merlin just happened?! However had bumped into them was now laying on the floor! "Are you alright?" Repeating the question from earlier she also stuck her hand out to help the girl up. "Are you hurt?" Had she tripped or gotten sick like Dorian had said? |

Leaving his parents either outside of the shop or somewhere inside he had no clue. He had ran in so fast that the didn’t see if they had came inside with him or where they went. He fully understood the meaning of the phase like a kid in a candy store. Grabbing handfuls of everything as he passed. Jelly slugs, peppermint toads, prank candy (Yess! His favorite) and so on and so on. That reminded him he was thinking of a plan to sneak a trip to the joke shop as well. He would need to stock up on things from there for school. Now this was school supply shopping. He was filling his arms with candy, aisle to aisle until his arms were too full to grab some licorice wands. Whoa he was going to need more arms or something. ”I need a basket!” He said excitedly, he quickly turned back toward the front of the store where the baskets were. As he turned he bumped into something… someone. Opps. Double opps…. he had dropped some of the candy that was in his arms. Help. HELP! His candy was trying to escape. |
Bumping into someone, she looked and seen she ran into a boy about her age, oh...boy how embarrassing. Here she was in a unknown candy store to her, but now she bumped into someone and caused a mess. With her and his candy flying everywhere, she grabbed him a basket and started helping him with his candy. "Oh my gosh, I'm sorry are you ok?!" she asked looking at him. He seems ok, but who really knew for sure, hopefully his candy was ok. "I'm sorry about your candy, I don't really know what's good here so I didn't lose much." she said looking down at her fudge. Maybe he'll be nice and they'll be friends once they get to Hogwarts, or...maybe he'll be mean which was something she hoped he wasn't. "Sorry so rude of me, I'm Stella. she said putting his candy that was wrapped up in the basket. Hopefully the owner wouldn't get mad because of the mess here and candy all over the place, honestly it was just an accident. " I can pay for the candy that's ruined, I got enough." she said frowning at his candy on the floor. He lost quite a bit, she felt really bad about it and wanted to help and make it right. |

His candy was all over the floor. He wasn’t going to cry. He wasn’t going to cry. Oh no no no nononono. He was on the brink of a break down. He wanted his parents, he wanted his mum. He desperately searched around for them. He was thrown back to reality by a kid with a basket. But the reality was his candy was gone. ”No it’s okay. I ran into you. Are you new here?” Honestly that was all on him. He couldn’t help but to stare at the mess of candy all over. Was he mad? No. He was upset and sad. Sure he could get more candy, it was just the fact that he was having fun being goofy and shopping. He took what candy he could savage and place in his basket. ”No problem. Thanks for the basket. I’m Derren.” He managed to give her small smile as he picked through boxes of candy. ”Most if it is in packaging so its fine.” It was all good. Derren was really really overreacting to the whole thing. |
Stella felt really bad about his candy, she knew if she had alot of candy like this, she'll be upset and cry. Ok...was that a bit childish? Yes...but hey she was still a kid and still young. Not to mention love was candy and candy is love, that's every kids motto. She would've been upset if her fudge and chocolate frogs were all over the place, now she thought about it her chocolate frogs were on the floor. But she wasn't worried about that, she was more concerned about helping this kid that lost all his candy or most majority. She nodded. "Is it that noticeable?" she asked biting her lip. "My dad gets me the fudge here all the time, but this is my first time in here." she said helping him with the mess. He didn't look mad, just sad and upset about it and honestly she couldn't blame him. He lost quite a bit of candy due to their bump in with each other. " Sure no problem, I heard you needing one, too bad I was too late." she said frowning. "Derren that's a cool name, well what a interesting way too meet each other, I sure won't forget it." she said chuckling. She nodded. "That's good, that's a relief but those pranks things looked pretty cool." she said looking at them. |
Sterling Archer Calrissian needed a break from school shopping. And probably to meet some people who actually attended Hogwarts, but mostly the break. And what better place to do those two things than the local candy shop? None, that's where. Making her way down one aisle, Archer stopped in front of a display of chocoballs and picked one up, popping the sweet into her mouth. "Mmm, those are some good chocoballs," she commented to no one in particular. So good, in fact, that she sampled another. And maybe two more... |
i never actually looked up to see what they look like in HP but chocoballs be pretty Quote:
And sweet Scamander did he need a reset. ......using that name hurt, though he masked the frown on his face by picking up a few boxes of chocolate frogs when he caught some movement out of the corner of his eyes. Though he HEARD her first. "They're not my favorite but they are good," he nodded with a small smile, grabbing a couple of more boxes - not bringing his total to a healthy seven. |

"Do you happen to go to Hogwarts?" It was a mostly throw away small-talk-type of question, though if he did, that might prove helpful, being an Illvermorny transfer and all. |

Dorian nodded his head as he thought about which day he could come over. Not knowing just yet, the Ravenclaw looked at Rylee. "You also live near a forest right?" he asked as he vaguely tried to remember there conversation last year in one of the other shops in Diagon Alley. "Yup! I do" He answered and stood up a little straighter. Not that collecting cards was something to be that proud of. Hundreds of kids did that. "I joined the club in my second year and my collection has grown so much since i've joined" And then Dorian's mouth fell slightly open at what Rylee said next. "I can have them?" if she had a double card. "That's cool, thanks!" And then she surprised him again by saying he did not needed to pay back but instead of thanking her again, he firmly shook his head. "No, this is money we're talking about. I will pay you back one day and i don't take no for an answer" his father had always told him that he should never lend money, because it could get him in to trouble one day. Even if it is from a friend and a small amount. What if they started to drift apart years later and that one sickle became a galleon and he had no proof that it wasn't? He was probably getting astray with his thoughts but it happened to his father so...he was going to pay Rylee back one day. He got out of his thoughts when he saw an outstretched arm and he blinked at it a couple of times before he realised that the Gryffindor was trying to help up the other girl who had fallen on her behind earlier. Mweh, maybe he should buy his chocolate frogs already and check his cards? He looked over at the counter but the line was too long. So he stayed with Rylee and mysterious falling girl a bit longer. |

"Oh, uh, Derfael.....Ashburry-Hawthorne...but everyone calls me Derf," he returned as he tried to shuffle the boxes around so he could manage to shake her hand. Which, well, boxes were strung about the floor by the end of said attempting but at least he had managed to be polite and shake her hand? Small victories, the 16-year-old was all about those these days. "Where does Archer come from?" Did she, you know, DO archery? "I do," he grinned, releasing her hand now so he could start to collect his boxes from the floor. "Be going into my sixth year." And since she didn't know who he was...well...he knew it was a bit egocentric and presumptuous to jump to this conclusion buuuuuuuut he also reckoned it was a safe bet. "....you...gonna be a new students there come September or something?" |
Text Cut: Callie Nailah laughed and then shrugged. "I don't think I'd stop you if you tried to buy the whole store," she said. Well, the items in the store, since the store itself wasn't exactly for sale. "It'd probably really good for my business." And her bank account. She lingered at the displays a little longer, just in case her customer, and new friend, wasn't quite ready to check out. Although, knowing what she knew about Lexi now, maybe she should lead her to the check-out area... So Lexi was married? Nailah wasn't sure why that surprised her. Maybe because Nailah didn't even have a boyfriend right now. Who knew. "Well, that makes sense," she said. "I've been doing little things here and there in my own shop." She nodded. "Yeah, sure! I'll let you know if I come up with anything." Right now, though, Nailah needed to at least tour the alley and visit all the shops. She honestly couldn't even recall what Primpernelle's already had. |
For Whitteh <3 "Yummy sweets, yummy yummy sweets. I want to eat... all of you," Hanna hummed as she looked up at all of the sweets available to purchase. Her parents didn't always want to send her sweets, so she planned ahead to TAKE all the sweets with her. She planned to buy some fudge for the train, but she didn't like stale fudge. Unless she could learn a food-keep-fresh charm. That might be something to work on... She got EXTRA fudge, in hopes of experimenting on it. Bertie Bott's, yes she needed those.... |
