| | | St. Mungo's Rules and Guidelines Welcome to St. Mungo’s Hospital! Please read and understand all the rules in this forum, as well as SS site rules, before posting in any existing roleplays or starting new ones. Failure to comply may lead to you being prohibited from this forum, and you could be warned, suspended, or banned from the site.
Your St. Mungo’s Mods are AlwaysSnapesGirl and Charely Potter. If you have any problems or questions, please contact us! Rules and Guidelines 1. Harry Potter Related: All roleplays in this forum must be related to the world created by J.K. Rowling in some way. You may create roleplays with your own characters or with HP canon characters. You may combine it with another genre, but you cannot solely have a roleplay based on another fandom. 2. No Celebrities: We do not allow members to roleplay celebrities or the cast of the Harry Potter films. We do not believe it is right to give someone control over people who exist in real life and potentially make a mockery out of them. You may, of course, use a celebrity's image as the face claim for your own character. 3. Roleplay Titles: Keep titles short and sweet. They usually aren't longer than five words, and they should give an indication of the roleplay's plot. There should be no excessive use of punctuation, capitalization, or symbols. You should also use one of the prefixes from the drop down menu - SS for your own character-based roleplays or HP for roleplays with canon characters. 4. Roleplay Plots: You must have a plot in order to qualify your roleplay for the forums. Language and content must comply with site rules. Your plot also must not be copied from someone else, as plagiarism is not permitted anywhere on the site. If there is reasonable proof that you are plagiarizing, you will be warned, and the roleplay will be closed/deleted. When submitting your roleplay for approval, include a basic summary of the plot. 5. Common Roleplay Courtesy: Everyone in this forum has the right to creative freedom without fear of insults. Rude behavior to another roleplayer will result in receiving a warning, a suspension from the forum, or possibly being banned from the forum. Please ensure you do NOT mistake in-character words and actions for being out-of-character. 6. Out-of-Character Messages: No out-of-character messages should be written unless they are in a roleplay post. Only thread starters may make out-of-character posts ABOUT the roleplay. Use private/visitor messages for alerting others of out-of-character hindrances, in-character developments, or lengthy discussions. Frequent posting out-of-character will result in the roleplay being closed. 7. Images: Images used within the RP must follow SS rules. Hotlinking is not allowed. Banners should be limited to signature sizes and weights. Biography pictures should be limited to profile picture sizes and weights. Images that aren't necessarily banners OR biography pictures must follow one restriction or the other; for instance, they can't be sized 450x350 pixels— a width of 450 is too big to be a profile picture width, but a height of 350 pixels is too big to be a signature height. 8. Completed and Inactive Roleplays: If your roleplay is finished, PM one of the St. Mungo’s mods, and we'll move it to the Janus Thickey Ward forum. After two months of inactivity in a roleplay, the roleplay is moved to the Janus Thickey Ward forum. If you would like your inactive thread reactivated to continue playing, please PM a mod and we'll be happy to move it back for you. 9. Reporting to Moderators: The person who started the thread is ultimately responsible for the roleplays, although anyone breaking the rules will be responsible for their own behavior. If you have problems or concerns, please contact a forum moderator. 10. Open and Closed Roleplays: Your roleplay may be open or closed. An open roleplay means that your roleplay is open for anyone to post in as long as it makes sense for their character to do so. A closed roleplay means that it is limited to only those characters who are invited to post. You must specify in your opening post whether it is an open or closed roleplay and include the character list. How to Submit a Roleplay
Please follow these guidelines for submitting your own roleplay for approval:- Provide a summary of your plot or the setting and scene of your roleplay
- Indicate whether your roleplay is open or closed
- Include a character list of who is playing in the roleplay
- Include the prefix SS or HP with your thread title
Once you submit your post, it will go into a moderation queue where it will await approval by one of the mods in the forum. This may take several days, so be patient! If it is approved a mod will let you know and you can begin posting. If you have any questions, feel free to let one of the mods know. |
